jimmy is a little different in shatterverse from source. as in he's a misunderstood person who's only instinct when scared or cornered is to kill. rather than "haha evil 'pErSonALiTy' ooh i kill all your friends and family :3" bc thats boring and problematic lmfao

im working on these reference sheets way too slow (i was originally planning to do 1 a day) but took time off then rushed jimmy’s so sorry that it looks so bad lol

also theres a wip to toast’s :))

heres a text version of what it says on jimmy’s, i recommend reading this instead cause theres better spelling:

-a demon that was trapped in Ghost's body.

-has been trapped for so long, his demon form looks like ghost because he cant remember what he looks like.

-outside of Ghost, he doesn’t feel pain.

-when in control, he feels pain. due to him not being used to pain, he enjoys it alot and will actively hurt ghost to feel.

-hates the fact that CBF is stronger than him and can control him, so his main goal is to kill CBF.

-unless Ghost is asleep, Casket has to fight for every movement , which makes him look like hes always shaking.

-ghost/cas have gotten a bit of an update to make them look more like a maine coon (:

i wanna share the alternate AU i made a while back, where lil Ghost befriends the strangely similar-looking kid he found in the woods (:

Now that I've posted all these, I want to share some of the preliminary sketches for chapters 2 & 3! Things changed as I worked, as is the norm it seems, so allow me to ramble once more (:

-Starting all the way back at the aftermath of the fight with Toothless, Ghost was originally going to wake up at the dorm! Toast had taken him home and the two of them have a cute little moment. -Though this was far more accurate to the original fic, but I felt like it skipped too far in time/space and didn't allow much opportunity to continue worldbuilding Elka Highschool. Not to mention this burn needs to be slow :)c

-Following the prior scene, Jeff's break-in would have been mostly offscreen, have Cas play a more helpful role in trying to warn Ghost of it, and Toast would wake up much sooner to walk in on Cas over Jeff's body. Considering most likely no one reading Bindertales here has watched the og fic's reading video, I must say that Toast legitemately brought a gun to campus and shot the fuck out of Cas. Genuinely. Wtf was I on in middle school ._.

-For obvious reasons I decided against including Toast being strapped. As for Cas waking Ghost, I realized it'd take away from the threat Casket is meant to pose to the duo at the moment. I kept the Home Alone joke, though :3

-The fight with originally had Jeff matching Casket's freak by biting him in the neck. The two would then fight under the time limit of blood loss on both ends. It'd make the fight scene longer and a bit more even.

-This was changed to better contrast the way Cas fights against others! Not to mention highlighting just how much of a threat Cas can pose to the people of EHS.

-Finally, Toast being awoken by the force and another drawn-out version of the fight scene! The fight would continue as somewhat even like mentioned prior and Toast, feeling something was off, would wake up to once more walk into the fight and witness Jeff's death.

-This nearly happened, but around this time, I finally sat down to make a roadmap of what I'd like to do with Bindertales. It would be a far better start to the current arc to allow Casket to fly under the radar for now.

I yap into the void but I very much hope this was entertaining to anyone reading Bindertales (:

you can even see how i ran low on shading time, it had to use airbrush rather than line. let me know which y'all works better ^^

a belated pi day!! here's the completed Bindertales cover celebrating 3/14 for 2024 :D

HAPPY PI DAY!!

i know it's a bit of a silly thing to celebrate, but i've always liked to keep up the habit to draw something of the binder bois (P.I.E.) each year. i'm a bit busy at the moment as mentioned prior so this is only a sketch, but here's a pi day Bindertales cover!! (can't reveal which issue of course >:3c)

prior years were these two for comparison! the designs are based on the non-Bindertales versions of these fellas, but by golly have they changed either way. i love to look back and see how i've changed! 2022 on the left and 2023 on the right. it really feels like i've got less spare time each year, huh? worry not! i WILL properly render this year's cover, it'll just have to wait 'til after the showcase!

i also really prided myself on accuracy in my designs, particularly Toothless' pupils turning into slits when threatened! i take liberties with these designs, but i try to include little details like that. it makes it a lot more fun!

i really haven't changed much since the original creation of The Binder, i still crave angst and violence lol. at least i now have the sense to make it tasteful and only when necessary. i think.

the text and the hand-written text are intended, Cas is just a bit quirked up :)c
