Aren’t you going to ask why I asked you to stay over? Because you’re sad about Joob. Partly, yes. I’m starting to be scared of death. Life is so damn uncertain. I’m afraid that one day I’d wake up and people around me disappear on me. You’re overthinking it. What I fear the most is that it happens to someone I care about. Especially, you. I promise I won’t go anywhere. Nothing will happen to me. Someone like me doesn’t die so easily. Thank you so much.
VICE VERSA (2022)
where are you going? to ask for your seat. that's okay. my eyes don't work well, but my legs do just fine. stay close to me. that's all i need. so i can tell where you are. okay.
this is a love story witnessed by the last twilight sky.
What did you wish for? For me to be in this universe as long as possible
Puen allowed himself to fall in love because there was no paparazzi, toxic fans or any invasion of privacy in Pakorn's life unlike his own. There could be other reasons (perhaps a scandal that could negatively impact his career?) he never dated before. Being Tess & Tun is nice. They get to work & party together. They're practically inseparable most of the time.
I'd like to know Tun's life in the other universe
Talay knows the honeymoon phase will end. He is determined to go back. He is not going to be in this if temporary. He wants to see if he can maintain his relationship even after they return. They will have different jobs, schedules & unfulfilled dreams to chase once they go back. He doesn't want to be unprepared in case their relationship is unable to withstand it all.
Trust me. Your life won't be the same.
(This is very vague without context but going with the flow of this post) Talay knows it's going to be demanding & challenging. He knows being boyfriends as Tess & Tun is easier than being Talay & "Tun" aka Puen. He is still going to enjoy it while it lasts, because it's smooth sailing here. They will only be met with storms on returning.
Talay knows it might not work out. They don't have anything but memory & attachment to hold them together in the real world. Here they have work & common friends (Fuse x Aou ship yayy). Top it all there will be other external obstacles. Talay let himself go with the flow because he didn't have to proactively chase dreams as Tess. He was living the life of a spoilt brat. The Talay in the real world has his aspirations as priority. This is a bittersweet acceptance of "it was good while it lasted"
Once in your lifetime, you had me
They will return to the real world without Talay knowing who "Tun" is. They will miss each other. Talay will try to compensate for a lingering presence. An echo. He has shared songs, tastes & smells to keep him company. Puen on the other hand knows EXACTLY who he is looking for in this world. But how will he look for him? For someone who fell in love with his clingy vulnerable ass when he himself didn't show enough self love. He was too scared to accept his identity to a romantic partner, the most intimate relationship of his life. He was scared his identity will ruin things. No one can ever love him like that. Talay loved him like the sea (his name lol) . Fierce like the tides yet calming like their sound.
They will never open their heart again. This time, because it has no room for anyone else. They will try to live with memories, fail to move on, and desperately look for each other once the yearning gets unbearable.
Puen & Talay falling for each other & not at the same time is so bittersweet.
They've practically grown attached to the person they don't entirely know even after a year together.
Puen knows Talay's dreams as a colorist, that he dislikes all but bacon pink. He has a sweet tooth. Plays guitar. Sings well. He's very sincere and serious when it comes to people & emotions. But he doesn't know why he gives mixed signals to his obvious flirting. Why he's so determined to push him away. He has no clue why such a ball of sunshine is cynical about love. Puen knows a lot about Talay's details like name & birthday. The fact that his entire life as "Tun" has started revolving around Talay isn't helping him at all. The possible reason he's keeping secrets I've mentioned here.
Talay can't accept a person he doesn't know. He has seen Puen be his most vulnerable self. Sure he might be confident, independent & flirty. But ultimately he's just a clingy baby around Talay. He's playful, lively. There's hardly any dull moment with him. Talay finds himself naturally drawn to him. He subconsciously observes everything this "Tun" does.
But the guessing game hurts. Sure, he's falling for "Tun" the playful, clingy & sensitive boy at his core. But how can he accept someone whose name he doesn't know. How will he find him once they go back. What will he do if they don't go back to together. If he's going to date, he's not going to waste time unless they're in it for the long run. And that also means Talay needing preparation to adjust to Puen's schedules & fame.
Communication can solve the problem. However the problem is also their fear of losing each other after initiating the difficult conversation. This is a classic trope for falling for a best friend except, they do not fall under any label at this point.
The fact that Puen still goes by "Tun" with Talay despite spending months together hints a bit of self disgust.
It's like Puen is jealous of his own success. Initially he must have been genuinely concerned about privacy. From literally the second day it's evident that Talay does not know much about films or actors. He couldn't guess his name. Even a casual fan would have guessed with those hints.
Celebrity disease is unlikely considering Puen's personality in the real world. However, Puen's actions can still be justified saying he doesn't want to be idolised.
Since the series hasn't ended, it's worth speculating if he has a suspicion if who Talay is. Here's a theory.
Think about it. He met Talay, love at first sight, not once but twice, by fate. Puen could've obtained Talay's contact from a crew member. On reaching out, he must have met Tess in Talay's body who might not have responded well. There's a chance it made him sad enough to get drunk & the next thing, he's met with an accident. But now. Now he meets Talay in the alternate world. Some dots vaguely start connecting. Now he needs to ensure his fame doesn't get in the way. He wants to see the real Talay.
Even this intention can't be justified as of ep6 considering how much they have endured together. They know each other's likes, dislikes, about Puen being done with his fame, about Talay's dreams & fears.
Puen is just fucking scared of rejection at this point & nothing else. It's been so long, revealing himself now would shake things up no matter what. So he hides behind excuses such as scriptwriting to justify his flirting. Sometimes he doesn't even give a decent answer.
It really makes me wonder if he's even interested to go back to his real life at this point. Maybe he likes to be Pakorn with loving parents & friends like Up, Aou & Talay as Tess who he can hit on without worrying about others. He now has a community of people who travelled universes. No one puts him on a pedestal.
He's terrified of his own fame. Worried that it will create distance. That Talay will stop looking at him as an equal.
He must have encountered a lot of people trying to take advantage of his status. He's probably unsure if he's indeed loveable as the whole person he truly is. He could also be afraid his celebrity status will just hurt the ones he loves if both return to the real world.
He needs to have faith in Talay's capability to love him, to accept him as a playful clingy boy who's also a public figure.
He's hidden himself for so long, grown to love Talay so much with time.... that now if Talay can't accept him as a whole.... He'll be heartbroken much more than before. And worse, Talay will be too.

I can't help but wonder if these similarities were intentional.
Let's look at the couples. Both are facing a shared problem. Pat Pran are sick of their controlling parents. Puen Talay are trying to cope with the untimely demise of Joob.
Pran & Talay have a fear of patterns. Pran is afraid of his mother forcefully transferring him again. His high school heartbreak is unhealed. He's afraid that every time he gets close to Pat, fate will split them apart.
Talay has a fear of abandonment. Just a week ago Up & Aou went their separate ways. Puen disappeared entirely. Top it all Fuse & Kita graduated before him. Hardly had Friend Credits re-united when Joob passed away. His fear of abandonment resurfaced.
Pat & Puen themselves didn't have it better. Pat had gotten scolded by his father for prioritising the play over rugby. He also had to cope with his father's betrayal which caused him & Parn to be star crossed lovers.
Puen too was mourning the loss of Joob. The one in whom he saw a maternal figure. Even his own fears were likely to be triggered watching Dol regret holding back from confessing until it was too late.
Puen & Pat exhibited immense strength by not only standing tall, but also by holding their partners from collapsing.
Pat could have simply asked for a break or ended it altogether. Because from the looks of it, they both were financially dependent on their families. Instead of being practical or reckless, Pat asked Pran to run away with him until they could come up with a solution. A solution that would let them continue holding each other's hand.
Puen too, could have done anything. Confessed impulsively, cried or remained silent. He himself was shook & unsure of his fate. Moreover watching Dol regret must have added to his own insecurities. But he mustered up his last ounce of courage & confidence to reassure Talay.
"Can I hug you to sleep all night?" In this case was not "I'm in love with you" or "I will protect you" but rather a reassurance that "I'll still be holding you after you sleep & wake up. I will never disappear on you ever again. I won't abandon you."
"when death// takes my hand// i will hold you with the other// and promise to find you// in every lifetime ~ commitment, rupi kaur, The Sun and Her Flowers”
PS it's funny is that Talay technically looks like Pat & Puen like Pran in this alternate universe given the casting....like you know what I'm saying right 😂😂

Soulmates. Better half. Portkeys. The love of your life. CMBYN & Vice Versa's plot at their core are essentially these aforementioned concepts.
Call me by your name is inspired from Plato's Symposium. In Greek mythology, humans were originally four-limbed, two-faced creatures; split apart by Zeus and condemned to spend their lives looking for their other half.
According to Symposium, one's quest for a female or male half depends on the nature of their original being. The relationship between the halves is subjective, but is ultimately companionship.
However, when one meets their other half, be it a lover of youth or a lover of another sort, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy, and would not be out of the other’s sight, as I may say, even for a moment.” This is the highest form of love — “the people who pass their whole lives together; yet they could not explain what they desire of one another.”
"Call me by your name and I will call you by mine" implies that "you and I" are one being that was separated. Now Talay & Puen share parallels to Oliver & Elio.
Puen and Talay are going through something similar (as of ep 6) The duo find themselves naturally drawn to each other, but they do know what they desire from each other. They briefly even feign ignorance.
As for the concept of portkeys, it once again refers to the idea of 2 people who are destined for each other. Like a match made in heaven.
Puen is carefree like Oliver. It is very evident from his confidence when he says things like "I kissed you because I wanted to" or "I should simply marry my colorist then"
For a non believer of love, Talay treats love sacredly. He's quick to draw boundaries & teach Puen that love cannot & should not be faked. He's cautious, sensitive to language & doesn't take things for granted, just like Elio. Puen revealed himself to Pang in the first meeting but not to Talay who was practically joined to him by the hip on most days. Talay tries to hide his envy by telling Puen to get close to Pang by calling her his prospective portkey. This is parallel to Elio's jealousy over Chiara. And his attempt to objectify her to strike up a conversation with Oliver.
Although most Call Me By Your Name ends with Elio getting a little more cynical, here's to manifesting that Vice Versa will end with Puen feeling a lot less lonely & Talay losing his cynicism about love.
PS Call Me By Your Name is set in a town by the coast & a lot of scenes are on the beach. Talay happened to drown while playing at the beach. Not to forget his name itself means "Sea" (And the actor's nickname IRL is Sea lmao 😂)
(Some of the above information was sourced from Vox)
Your cheeks give me cute aggression ~Puen
A common Thai superstition is that a virgin lady can prevent rains for the day by sticking lemongrass upside down into the soil under an open sky. This ritual is called ปักตะไคร้ bpàk dtà-krái).
FOR THE HIGHLIGHT if it indeed does not rain then the one who performs it is a true virgin. (Now is this scene supposed to mean something?😂)
I think you're cute when you pout.
I see you like it. So it has my attention.
So from ep4 (posting before ep5 releases) we can see that even Puen is passing off everything as "for the script" & is unwilling to take responsibility for his actions.
Meanwhile Talay likes it & hopes it was sincere. So now it's Puen who's not taking responsibility for making Talay like him.
Soft pink is often associated with feminine qualities such as nurturing and compassion. It is also symbolic of budding romance and falling in love. Which is precisely what both the boys are experiencing at this moment.
Pink also has negative connotations such as passivity and unwillingness to take matters seriously.
Puen refused to take responsibility of Pakorn's life until that eye opening conversation. On the other hand Talay is still in denial about Puen's obvious flirting.
Pink is also associated with timidity & inexperience. Both the leads claim to have never experienced dating. While Puen is letting his heart lead, Talay is acting timid & cautious, thereby caging it. He's neither taking responsibility for his own feelings nor for making Puen fall in love with him. 🥲
Doctor Jimmy is so fuckin pretty oh my gawsh 🤧
I don't understand why Talay told Phuwandol that Puen NEVER told he's flirting for fun?
Sure, Puen never said it's a prank but he clearly overdid things & always SAID that "it's for the script." So technically he DID say that it's NOT real, right??
Talay was just setting boundaries by asking Puen to quit his so called "fake" flirting. But Puen didn't even have the courage to go & clear all misunderstandings so he just isolated himself.
Talay still came looking for him & this boy had the audacity to say "I'm not messing with you" & kiss him JUST after giving one sentence of apology. (SERIOUSLY, how about you try saying something such as "I like you" before pulling him in for an unexpected kiss?! When will you learn to show sincerity, HUH?!!) Only for us to see him telling in ep5 teaser that it helped him improve the script 🤡
Puen was so cowardly he hid behind the excuse of scriptwriting instead of confessing. Talay deserves better. Perhaps someone who is more certain about their feelings for starters. Oh wait, perhaps someone who would tell his real name 🙂
From a negative perspective, magenta can promote depression and despair in some, and prevent others from dealing with challenges - it may be just too relaxing for introverts and the chronically depressed.
Being surrounded by too much magenta energy can generate arrogance and bossiness making us feel overwhelmed, irritated, anxious and intolerant.
An excess of magenta energy can be balanced by introducing green into your surroundings.

The way this episode is called "deep magenta" but it's about them finding their spot in a café full of green plants. There's no magenta in sight. And this difference and opposite of meaning is what makes it so special.
Throughout this whole episode we see magenta very often. Wether it's the studio Up found or Talay's pants or a flower bouqet, magenta is present. But Puen and Talay find a café, their spot to share untold words, that doesn't contain any magenta, not even a shade of it - and that in an episode that hints at one specific color.
Magenta is mostly associated with spring and love. It's a romantic color. Lotus flowers are often magenta - since it's the equivalent to roses here. Green is spring as well but it's more about new beginnings, it's exciting. While magenta establishes the idea of something staying and lasting, green shows the truth of life changing.
Puen and Talay were flirting before, they talked, they laughed, they became close but they would have stayed that way if Puen wouldn't have said "how about we fall in love with each other?" Their relationship takes a turn and it's no longer familiar, it's no longer lasting the way it was. The state their relationship is in is very fragile where every word is fatal.
When they find the café, they fall more for each other than they expected. "Will they fall in love?" "I guess so." The café marks a turn in how they see each other. It's something new and fresh, thus there is green and not magenta.
It gets more meaningful when Puen hides in the café, waiting for Talay with his sad puppy-face. He apologizes which always means a lot in relationships: having the first fight. He talks about what he felt and it's all very new but warm, not weird at all. They even kiss at the spot, so green leaves surrounding them mirrors all the feelings perfectly.
They lost the magenta to step into something green that could turn magenta again when it lasts and stays.
might be delu but what if they get married before leaving. Like c'mon this alternate universe will recognize your marriage too 😭😭😭
