Yuji sketch but his face looks rly weird and its messy (im sorry)
I really like how Yuji and Sukuna's dynamics in last week's chapter were basically an inversion of their talk in chapter 212:
Sukuna, who measures worthiness solely by strength, thinks the lives of the weak are worthless. He feels nothing about those he tramples over and his sheer lack of humanity enrages Yuji.
On chapter 265 its Yuji who enrages Sukuna by showing him true compassion
After Sukuna spent most of the series being this unstoppable force almost beyond comprehension it feels really cathartic that Yuji can rattle him this much.
Of all the characters in JJK, Yuji is the only one who can truly challenge Sukuna's philosophy.
Compassion and Pity
Soo many amazing panels lately and I really want to redraw so many of them! I think I like how the render turned out here although I might add the speech and panel frames...
But I'm soo far behind on all of my drawing ideas and need to work on something else for a bit...
I also did some panel redraws again!
I love the message this chapter was sending.
It's so cathartic to see Yuuji, a character who had embraced the worst parts of the cog mentality, realize that there is more to life than what he could do for the machine that is life and a society like ours.
It's also such a great message; to enjoy the mundane in life, to live in the details and the memories you had. It might not amount to anything at the end of the day. Hell, it might not even amount to anything at the end of your life, but at least you can say that you lived, not as a cog in the machine, only designed to fulfill your role in society, but made to fill your existence with the experiences and people around you.
That's why his grandfather told him to die surrounded by loved ones.
i miss my daughter, tails-
sketch and ref under the cut!! (SPOILER FOR CHAP 265 WARNING)
actually cried seeing her again im so honest- i missed my baby girl
I really do hope Gege won't go 'a redemption arc for Sukuna, here you go' way. Yuji tried, he's an endlessly kind kid, but Sukuna is definitely not the kind of villain who wants to be redeemed nor can be redeemed at all. Put him six feet underground and pour a pound of salt over his remains, and I say that with all sincerity of someone who openly states that his Heian era form is hella hot.
"cuz evil doesn't always have a reason behind its action" exactly. as I have mentioned before, Sukuna is not redeemable nor wants to be redeemed so it will be extremely difficult to bring him to the closure that someone believes he "deserves" it.
I didn't really know why but this chapter, along with Yuji's resolve in the end suddenly reminded me of Gran Torino's word to Izuku:
"killing someone is the same as saving them"
I can see that Yuji tried to give Sukuna a chance and Sukuna just won't take it, so perhaps with this way, Yuji may be able to give him mercy. that's what I thought, btw.
