Clint Jones was a running back for the Minnesota Vikings. Played college ball for Michigan State. Was the Vikings 1967 #1 draft choice (one of three along with Gene Washington and Alan Page). The 2nd photo is from a 1967 preseason game against the NY Giants...3rd photo is a 1970 game against the Boston (New England) Patriots. the 4th is a sideline shot of Clint and Gene Washington at Metropolitan Stadium. The 5th is a mock up of a Topps 1970 football card showing a game in 1969 against the Cleveland Browns. Drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1961, Bill was traded to the Vikings in 1962. By the end of his career, he was the Vikings leading career ground gainer. He was tough as nails and dished out as much punishment as he got. Butkas and Nitchke both said he was the toughest running back they faced. He was also an excellent pass receiver for Fran Tarkenton and Joe Kapp. Bill passed away in 2018 at age 80.
