I don't think there will be a regeneration like the 10th Doctor's again, and not for the angst of "I don't want to go" or the long drawn out goodbye. I'm more thinking about the injuries.
Because before he takes in the radiation, he shatters a ceiling of glass around himself, and then we watch him crawl and stand with shards of glass in his hands and his face so raw and bloodied, and I honestly don't know if we'll see that again.
Eccleston, Capaldi, Whitaker were all so clean when they died, in pain yes, but in a single photo you can't tell. But if u look at a single photo of 10. Just look at him
And I just think seeing this amazing man, my hero, my favourite person in all of tv, brutalised like this... I think it broke me a little.
(And that's all before I get into the imagery of the radiation and him wiping away his injuries as a metaphor for regeneration as much as a precursor).
