Beautiful Mind

Beautiful Mind

After enduring constant torment from the other little kids, it seems as if the only one who can help her out of this hole is her younger sister.

pairing: Kiri x !Younger Sister! Reader

a/n: I could not bring myself to write more, and I'm so new to the Na’vi language, so excuse any mistakes!

⋆★⋆★⋆

Soft moss padding her feet from the rough ground, the sobbing girl ran through the forest, not even bothering to turn around and see if anyone followed her out this deep into the wilderness. As she leaped over a rock, she timed the landing wrong and fell onto her knees, truly bringing her into a state of misery.

Why were they so cruel? Sure, she had an extra finger, and maybe her brothers were a bit foolish, but that didn’t mean she deserved to be treated any less. Shakily letting her shoulders fall up and down, she heaved out great sobs that could hide the sound of hesitant footsteps toward her.

crunch

Snapping her head back toward the noise, she quickly faced the ground once she realized it was simply her sister. Kiri had only been born a few weeks before the twins, but that didn’t stop the two from becoming close.

“Rä’ä ‘asap si! You ran off, and I wasn’t sure if you were okay.” She spoke with such sincerity that it just broke Kiri into a smile. Waving her over, she couldn’t help but enjoy the way her sister had been worried over her. Did this make her selfish?

“I’m alright, (y/n). I hate that you have to see me like this.” She sniffled. Wearing a sad smile, she tried to connect the dots on why and how her sister had come to this point, weeping with dirt-covered knees. Placing her hand over her sister’s, her words almost raised Kiri’s spirits entirely.

“Oeng lu tsmuke ulte tsmuke. Txo nga fpìl txokefyaw, nga lu keyawr. Set, Kempe len?”. As soon as those words were thrown out into the silence, despite the short sniffle now and then, Kiri felt her eyes well up with tears once more.

“What’s wrong with me, (y/n)? I try to stay out of the way, and I don’t bother anyone, but they still find a way to make me feel like nothing. Is there something missing in my mind?”. The wobble in her voice had been enough for her sister’s ears to tuck themselves down against her head as her lip quivered with the amount of heartbreak she held deep in her heart for her sister.

A beat passed, then two.

“I think you have the most beautiful mind, Kiri.”

If she had not been listening or had sniffled at that exact moment, she doubts she would have heard her. Daring to take a look at her, tears were already in her own eyes, with the saddest pout on her face. At once, she realized how much she hadn’t noticed how much love her family had held for her. At this moment, she knew her beautiful, sweet sister, had adored her.

Choking out a sob, Kiri left the ground and almost tackled the younger one into a hug. If this were any other day, Kiri would have probably nervously returned the hug with a scoff, but today was today, and Kiri was Kiri.

“If you ever feel like that ever again, please tell us! I hate to see you this way, RI. Our father is Toruk Maktoyu! If anyone messes with you, they will answer to him!” She let out a tiny smile along with a growl. Laughing softly at her antics, Kiri had decided that if someone were ever to make her sister cry, they would answer to her. With the Toruk Maktoyu or not.

⋆★⋆★⋆

Do not be startled!

You and I are Sister and Sister. If you think otherwise, you are wrong. Now, what happened?

I read "The Lie of Providence" and I loved the sibling dynamic that Reader and the kids had, do you think you could please write a little spinoff of all of them (including Spider, of course) doing... the typical chaotic and fun things that all siblings do? 😅

Hello! So sorry for the late reply! I'm still trying to figure out something wholesome to write! In the meantime, please enjoy this absolute nonsense I made in a single evening!

Hearing the unheard

Sully family x deaf!omaticaya!reader part 2

Part 1: silent world loud mind

After Quatrich kidnapped his kids Jake decides that it’s no longer safe for his family to stay with the Omaticaya clan, of course they couldn’t leave you behind

Hearing The Unheard

Right now you and the sullies had arrived at the Metkayina tribe and thankfully they had granted your group uturu, the Tsahik, Ronal, and her son, Ao’nung were weary of you guys but her mate, Tonowari, and her daughter, Tsireya, were kinder.

Tsireya was showing you around the village she was talking and explaining where everything was. The only problem with that was that was that you couldn’t see her face do you couldn’t understand a thing she was saying. You tapped Neteyams shoulder quietly asking him to explain what Tsireya was saying.

“I’ll tell you later” Neteyam mouthed not wanting to be rude and talk while Tsireya was talking, you nod as you all walk into the marui

“This is good. This is great” Jake said looking at the family as Tsireya leaves

“I need you to behave in an exemplary manner. I mean it” Jake says in a harsher tone looking specifically at Lo’ak

“Learn quickly, take your turn, and don’t cause trouble. Got it?” He continues

“I wanna go home” says Tuk about to cry. You pick her up noticing her distress “oh Tuk…” you whisper holding her close in an attempt to comfort her

“This is our home now Tuk” Jake says

“Besides what does your father always say” Neytiri says attempting to cheer her kids up

“Sully’s stick together…” the four siblings mumble

“Now with more enthusiasm, you too Y/N”

“Sully’s stick together” you all say Kiri rolling her eyes a little

Jake and Neytiri go to unpack everything as the kids hear Tsireya calling out to you guys

“Come swim with us” she says smiling

Lo’ak and Neteyam jump into the water happily Tuk following her older brothers as Kiri grabs your arm “come on let’s go in the water” the two of you jump into the water. The underwater reef is beautiful, underwater trees covering a lot of it as fish swim around you. The scenery makes you smiles as you swim around seeing all the different colored marine life and plants. You could see Neteyam and Lo’ak ahead of you smiling you swim around the two surprising them. You can see Tsireya signing something underwater but your out of air and can’t understand her anyways so you move up and out of the water

“What is wrong with them?” Roxto says

“Yeah their terrible divers” Ao’nung laughs

“Stop they just have to learn” says Tsireya in harsh tone

“You swim too fast” complains Tuk to the older kids

“Yeah your probably better at swimming through trees” Ao’nung mocks you all making Tsireya reprimand him again

“Your little finger thing, we don’t understand it” Neteyam says as rolls his eyes at Ao’nungs comment

“I will teach you” Tsireya says calmly

“Where is Kiri?” Roxto says looking around for the girl “Y/N where is Kiri” you where floating on your back not being able to hear a thing they were saying. The Metkayina boy called your name again before realizing that you couldn’t hear and that you weren’t ignoring him. Neteyam tapped your shoulder to grab your attention “I’m sorry what were you saying?” Roxto looked straight at you and asked where Kiri was again.

“Oh she’s still underwater, I think she’s looking at some fish” you respond politely

After a few more minutes you all split up, you and the sully kids going to back to the marui for the night and the others doing their own things

The next day~

It was just after breakfast when Tsireya entered the sully’s Marui saying that it was time for lessons. The kids follow her out saying bye to Jake and Neytiri.

Once you all got to the beach you could see Ao’nung in the water with some sort of creatures

“These are ilu. If you want to live here you have to ride” Ao’nung says with a cocky smile. Tsireya brings one of the ilu’s up to Lo’aks side

“Make the bond. Feel his breath, his strength” Tsireya says slowing backing away “remember to hold on tight” and with that the ilu dives into the water quickly Lo’ak barely holding on. Neteyam soon follows he was able to stay on better than Lo’ak, father way you could see Kiri on her own ilu staying on its back with ease. After the incident you weren’t allowed to ride your Ikran due to the fact that if there was an emergency it would be almost impossible to get your attention

“I’m sorry guys but I can’t ride” your voice was sad, Tuk hugs your side in an attempt of comfort

“Awe she’s scared, what do you think your gonna fall off” Ao’nung says laughing with Roxto. You let out a small hiss under your breath

“No it’s because if we were ever in a dangerous situation she wouldn’t be able to hear someone getting trying to get her attention, idiot” Lo’ak said in your defense. Ao’nung hisses a little at the name calling

“Its ok Lo’ak, I’m gonna go swim over there and try to find Kiri” you say swimming away into the reef

Inside the reef you swim seeing the fish and Kiri is down near the sand playing with the fish, an ilu swims up playfully. Kiri smiles and pets it before making the bond with it and was about to swim off when she spotted you, making the ilu swim to you she grabs you and pulls you on the ilu with her. You hold on to her tightly not wanting to fall off as the two of you zip through the water quickly

You two resurface near the others laughing. God how you missed riding and you though, if I can’t ride alone anymore it’s nice that I can still ride with someone. The Metkayina kids released you and the sully kids from lesson to get lunch saying that they would continue later near sunset.

Soon sunset came around and the 7 out of the 8 of you gather around on a rock to practice your breathing. Tuk unfortunately couldn’t be there due to the fact that it was almost dark.

“Imagine a flickering flame” says Tsireya in a calming voice

“You must slow down your heartbeat” she says and then touches Lo’aks stomach and chest

“Breath in” Tsireya speaks as Lo’ak takes a deep breath and goes to exhale

“Breath from down here. Breath slowly” she says as she touches his abdomen

Tsireya says that Lo’aks heartbeat is fast, apologizing Lo’ak takes another breath as she tells him to focus. You, Neteyam and Roxto exchange knowing looks chuckling slightly as Kiri rolls her eyes annoyed by the childish behavior

After a few minutes you and Kiri can complete the breathing exercise almost perfectly as your able to slow down your heartbeat. Neteyam is good for the most part, it’s Lo’ak who truly struggles with slowing down his heartbeat and breathing so he stays behind with Tsireya to work on that as the rest of you go home. Once you, Kiri and Neteyam are back at the marui they go to get dinner

“I’m gonna go for a swim” you say heading the opposite way from the two

“That’s not a good idea Y/N what if we need to get your attention” Neteyam says being protective as usual

“It’ll be fine Nete, I’ll stay close to the marui” you say pleading with him. Neteyam shakes his head and rolls his eyes before finally giving you the ok, you smile and jump into the water close to the marui. If anything weee to happen either Neteyam or Kiri could just jump down and find you.

You had been absolutely loving the time you we’re spending underwater it was calming and beautiful. A school of glowing fish passed in front of you swimming closely as they circled around you, smiling you stick your hand out as they scatter when an ilu swims up happily chittering before swimming away. You sat underwater staring at the plants around you when you heard something, like a pulse, strong and steady. You looked around curiously before feeling the pulse again like it was under you. And just as quickly as it was there it was gone back to the silence you had grown accustomed to within the past few months

Time flies

Sully family x child reader part 2

Part one- Eywas mystery

The years following when the sully’s took you in up until the time when you had to leave to go to the Metkayina clan

Time Flies

~ age- 8 ~

Neytiri was teaching you how weave along with Kiri. It had been two years since Jake and Neytiri had found you. You had started calling the two your mom and dad with ease

“Mama can you help me please” you called out to Neytiri, your hands were stuck in the rope you were trying to weave into a net. Neytiri took one look at you and chuckled slightly

“come here little one” you kinda waddled her way trying not to trip on the longer pieces that were hitting your legs. Neytiri carefully unwrapped your hands and showed you the weave process again. This time she helped you more so you didn’t get your hands stuck again. Soon you had a simple, but effective net which you proudly showed Kiri

“Look I finished mine” your voice said happily showing your sister the next

“I finished mine too, I made a basket” Kiri said as she smiled

“We should use it to collect flowers Kiri!” She nodded so the two of you kissed your mom on the cheek and ran off into the flower field near by

~ age-12~

Neteyam , Lo’ak, Kiri and you were standing at the edge of the Hallelujah mountain

“It’s time to for you four to tame an Ikran” Jake said smiling

“Dad what if we fall” you say looking down and gulping. Jake pats your back softly “then I’ll swoop down and catch you, now go on you four”

Kiri is the first one to bond with an Ikran. She didn’t do it in the normal way though, she kind of befriended it?

Next was Neteyam, he tamed one quickly and efficiently. Within a few minutes he was flying around on his Ikran with ease

Lo’ak got thrown around a lot by the Ikran, he almost fell off when the Ikran flew down the mountain but he was able to connect his queue at the last minute

Finally it was your turn, the Ikran you had decided to try to tame was blue with streaks of purple. When you tried to get close she snapped at you ready to bite if you got too close, you had to admit that you were intimidated by the flying creature.

“Well here goes nothing” you said jumping on the ikrans back as she turned around.

The Ikran screeched and tried to throw you off as it flew into the air. Your hands struggled trying to grab your queue while still holding on to the creature. From the ground Jake was on his Ikran ready to grab you incase anyone happened and you fell off.

Finally you grabbed your queue and connected it with the ikrans. After a few minutes the blue and purple Ikran stopped thrashing and began to fly normally. You fly down to where your dad and your siblings were.

“You did great Y/N, but don’t scare me like that again” Neteyam said concerned about the fact that you could’ve plummeted to your death

“Don’t worry brother dad would never have let that happen plus Y/N way too good for that” Lo’ak said high fiving you

“Yeah she did much better then you two idiots” Kiri said as she wrapped her arm around your shoulder

Jake congratulated the four of you for doing so well. The five of you flew back to Neytiri and Tuk to share the accomplishments

~age-14~

The RDA was back on pandora and Quatrich, your dads old enemy, was back as an avatar. Right now because of your brother Lo’aks stupid need to see an old battle field him, Kiri, Tuk, Spider, and you were all being held hostage by Quatrich and his goons.

“Show me your hands girl” Quatrich said in very broken Na’vi, his goons had a gun to almost everyone’s head except Tuk who had a knife to her throat

You flipped Quatrich off as a way to show your five finger which made him roll his eyes. He had taken Lo’ak communication device a hours ago and had given your father instructions for giving himself up in exchange for you and your sibling. Suddenly you could hear your mothers signal, to anybody else it would just be interpreted as another sound of the pandorean jungle but to the sully kids it meant that their mother was near and ready to rescue them. Finally an opportunity to strike arises and Neytiri shots the guy holding Kiri with an arrow. Neytiri, Jake and Neteyam all spring into action. You, Tuk and Lo’ak bite the hands of your captors managing to distract them enough so that you could get away. Shots rang in the air and one of the avatars had Kiri but not for long as neytiri fired another arrow that landed straight into his chest. Neteyam almost gets shot while trying to rescue you guys but in the end all of the sully’s come out with minor injuries

“Where’s Spider?” Kiri’s voice trembled. At that moment everyone realizes that the human boy had been taken

“I’m so sorry kids, but I don’t think we can rescue him” Jake says, it hurt to see his children’s reaction more than losing Spider

That night you could hear your parents argue about what happened and how your dad just wanted to keep your family safe and the safety of the clan… which meant having to move, the RDA only cared about him and his family so if your family disappeared then both the family and the clan would be safe. You ran out of the hut, much to your parent’s surprise because they thought you and your siblings were asleep.

You sat outside of your home upset by your fathers words. You could feel someone sit down next to you

“I’m so sorry baby girl” Jake said wrapping his arm around you, you sob leaning in to your fathers embrace

“I don’t wanna leave dad, this is our home it’s not fair” your voice trembles

“I know baby, buts it’s for safety” Jake says looking black to see the rest of your family outside.

“You know what your father says, right kids” your mom says with a solemn expression

“Sully’s stick together” the sully kids say unenthusiastically

“Come on with attitude, I know you guys don’t want to leave but it needs to happen” Jake says hugging Tuk who was about to cry

The next day your father gave up his title of Olo’eyktan to Tarsem who sadly accepted. The entire clan was sad to see your family leave but they understood why you all had to leave

Everyone got on their Ikran, Tuk going with your mom, it took a few days to get to the Metkayina clan. When the sully’s landed they were surrounded by Metkayina, your father telling all of you to behave as some of the younger boys giving the family wary glares

“Look what is that? Is it supposed to be a tail” one of the metkayina boys says talking about Neteyam making some other metkayina laugh

You see Lo’ak entranced by a a girl walking out of the water and you just roll your eyes

“It’s too small how are they supposed to swim” the same boys say referring to your tail

“Do not Ao’nung Rotxo” the girl says, Lo’ak says hi to her and she smiles and looks away shyly

soon their Olo’eyktan (tonowari) came out of the water walking through the crowd to your family

“I see you Tonowari” your father says bowing slightly the rest of the family following his example

“Jake sully” Toniwari says as he acknowledges your family

Soon the tsahik came through the crowd her expression cold

“I see you, Ronal Tsahik of the metkayina” your father voice rang

“I see you Ronal” says Neytiri

“Why do you come to us Jake Sully” says Tonowari curious as to why forest people would come to their home near the ocean

“We seek uturu…” Jake says making the Metkayina gasp

“Uturu?” Ronal says surprised by your father statement

“…a sanctuary for my family” your father continues. Ronal walks forward after exchanging looks with her mate

“We are reef people. You are forest people. Your skills mean nothing here” the Olo’eyktan said as Ronal continues to circle your family

“So we will learn your ways, right” Jake said the last part directed towards his family

Ronal grabs your mothers tail and then Tuks arms

“Their arms are thin…” Ronal says walking and grabbing Kiris tail “…their tails are weak. You will be slow in the water”. Then she grabs hands hands raising them in the air

“These children are not even true Na’vi” she states as the Metkayina gasp

“Yes we are” you say upset. But she doesn’t care and just goes to grab Lo’aks hand and raises it to show his five fingers

“They have demon blood!” The tsahik claim immediately making the rest of the Metkayina more hostile towards your family. God how your blood was boiling at this point. You hadn’t done anything to this woman and she already didn’t like you and your family

“Look! Look” your father shows his hands “I was born to the sky people and now I’m Na’vi. You can adapt” he says turning back to Tonowari

“We can adapt” Jake says almost desperately

“My husband was Toruk Makto. He lead the clans to victory against the sky people” says Neytiri in an harsh tone as she looks at Tonowari.

“This you call victory? Hiding among strangers…” your mother looks down “…it seems Eywa has turned her back on you chosen” your mom hisses and Ronal retribution with a hiss of her own, you could see that the two were ready to fight at any second.

Jake cuts in between the two women apologizing for your mothers behavior claiming that the journey has made her tired and easily irritable and Tonowari changes the subject

“Toruk Makto is a a Great War leader. All Na’vi people know his story. But we Metkayina are not at war…” he turns to your father “… we cannot let you bring your war here” Toniwari says

“Look I’m done with war, okay? I just wanna keep my family safe” your father says holding Tuk

“Uturu has been asked” your mother says harshly

The Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik exchange looks before Ronal nods slightly

“Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us. Treat them as our brothers and sisters. But they do not know the sea. So, they will be like babies taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not know the shame of being useless” you could see your fathers relief as Tonowari said these words. The family thanked him and he explained that his children Ao’nung and Tsireya will you and your sibling their ways. The boy Ao’nung had obvious protest but was shut down by his father and the Tsireya just smiled and showed your family around. The next few weeks we’re going to be hard.

———————————————————————

There WILL be a part three focusing on your time with the metkayina clan so pls don’t comment saying it’s a cliffhanger. Anyways hoped you enjoyed :)

Silent world loud mind

Sully family x Deaf! Omatikaya! reader

When you lose your hearing after a battle and the sully’s help you navigate your new life

Silent World Loud Mind

Neteyam, Lo’ak, and you were supposed to have been spotters during the train line attack but Lo’ak being the skxqwng he is went down to the battle saying that they could take this as a chance to get more supplies.

“LO’AK COME BACK HERE YOU SKXWNG!” Neteyam said calling out to his younger brother before flying after him on his Ikran

“NETEYAM WAIT!” you yelled at your best friend but he couldn’t hear you and continued to fly down “dear Eywa why did you make these boys so stupid” you said as you followed the two

Down on the ground you found Neteyam and Lo’ak grabbing guns and ammo, you grab the boys trying to bring them back to the Ikrans before their father found you three

“Come on we have to get back be-“

BOOM

Something explodes right behind you knocking the you and Neteyam to the ground as you were closer and knocking Lo’ak into his butt. The explosion had left the brothers disoriented and you knocked out as Jake finally finds the three of you after having noticed your ikrans on the ground.

“Lo’ak get out of here go on!” He yelled at the younger boy trying to find you and the older boy.

“NETEYAM”

“NETEYAM WHERE ARE YOU”

Finally Jake found him. He picked his son up checking his back for any possible exit hole from a bullet. None were found to his relief

“What the hell were you thinking! Your supposed to spot not be on the ground!” Jake hissed at the boy. Jake picked him up and put his son on his shoulder

Neteyam groaned “I’m sorry sir” before realizing you weren’t there nobody had found you “sir Y/N, she was with us! Neteyam said with urgency you we’re probably hurt worse thank he was

“HOW COULD YOU BRING HER DOWN HERE” Jake yelled before taking a breath and continued looking for you weighed down by Neteyam being on his shoulder. Finally he spotted you a few feet away from where he found Neteyam. He checked for bullet wounds before throwing you on his shoulder, you were still passed out and bleeding from different scratches on your body.

Now at the healers hut Neteyam sits beside you blaming himself for you having gave been down there. You groan softy as you sit up, Neteyam was talking to you trying to ask how you felt. You knew he was taking you could see his mouth moving but you couldn’t hear it.

Everything was silent.

“I can’t hear you Nete” your voice trembles only for him to hear. Tears fall from your eyes you’ll never be able to hear your loved ones voices, never be able to listen to nature, or listen to the clan chanting and singing. Neteyam calls for his grandma as he hugs you

Mo’at examined you, sadly she couldn’t do anything so Jake brought Norm in

“It looks like her eardrums were ruptured due to the blast. Unfortunately hearing aids wouldn’t be affective due to the way a Na’vi ear is constructed. I’m sorry to say it guys but Y/N is permanently deaf” you could see Neteyams eyes widen and Mo’at praying with a sad look on her face. You knew you were probably never gonna get better

Over the next few months Kiri had helped you with lip reading as she was the only one with enough patience to say words over and over again.

“…The ikran flew up in the air, Neteyam almost fell off his first time flying” Kiri said speaking at a moderate pace so you could read her lips without any chance of confusion.

“You said that Neteyam almost fell off his Ikran his first time riding, right?” you said to see if you were right. Kiri nodded and hugged you out of excitement

Lo’ak blames himself for your situation so he try to help you in anyway he can wether it’s helping you with lip reading practice or If he finds anyone teasing you Lo’ak will beat them up.

Neteyam was helping you practice lip reading with Kiri while Lo’ak was outside feeding his Ikran.

“Yeah she’s a freak without hearing” a boy said to his friend gaining Lo’aks attention

“What did you say” Lo’aks voice was dark as he walked over to boy. The boy gets up in his face “ I said that Y/N is a freak” Lo’ak punches him “She is much better person than you are so I would suggest you shut your mouth before you get punched again asshole” the boy and his friends flee. Jake watched the entire situation but kept quiet, he was proud of his son for defending you.

Neteyam was your best friend out of the entire group so he comforted you during these times

Neteyam was the first person to try and talk to you after what happened. You hadn’t left the hut in days. Neteyam couldn’t bear seeing you like this so he sat down next you he had something Norm called a chalkboard. He wrote down what he wanted to say but quickly understood you didn’t want to talk, so Neteyam wrapped his arms around you as you started to cry. He patted your back and hummed, while you couldn’t hear his voice you could feel the vibrations coming from his chest it felt comforting to you like something a mother would do with their child

Tuk was too young understand how you felt but she still tried to cheer you up and make you smile

Tuk grabbed your arm and lead you outside to show you the flowers she had collected while out in the forest

“Y/N do you like the purple or pink flowers better” Tuk said with excitement she looked into your eyes happily “I like the purple flowers Tuk” she smiled and quickly ran all over grabbing every purple flower in sight before making it into a crowd. “Lean your head down Y/N” you smiled and complied as Tuk set the crown on your head before running off to get more flowers

Neytiri helped with keeping you in the loop and with integrating you into social situations. She wasn’t going to let you isolate yourself due to your disability.

Neytiri and Mo’at were working were working on baskets with some of the other women in the tribe they all gossiped and used this time as a way to update their friends on their lives. Neytiri had noticed you being quiet. Neytiri tapped your shoulder grabbing your attention “If you want to leave the basket so can talk it’s ok” she knew you couldn’t concentrate on the basket and read lips at the same time. You smiled and thanked her quietly. You laughed at some of the comments made by the other women.

Jake helped you with the frustration and anger that came with your new hearing impairment. he knew how it felt when something essential to everyday life is gone. He also knew that those first few days were the worst.

Jake sat down next to you, it had been been three days since the attack. You had kept to yourself for most of the time except for when Mo’at changed your bandages. He handed you a piece of paper with writing in Na’vi “you’re angry aren’t you” he wrote, you nod “I blame myself, I knew I should’ve never been down there in the first place” your voice was a quiet whisper. Jake wrapped his arm around you and kissed your head, you were basically another daughter to him.

With time the voices in your head quieted as you learned how to fit in again. You were so grateful for having the sullies in your life right now

Part 2: hearing the unheard

@inutheangel finally finished hope you like it and let me know what you think. I was thinking of making a part two were the reader goes with the sullies to the metkayina clan.

Neteyam is gay. Like, no doubts about it, man is a homosexual.

That takes him a long time to admit though; his entire identity surrounded being the oldest and a warrior, it wasn't until he reached the Metkayina that he finally had a moment to breath and realize why Ao'nung was so distracting to him

It's like he can finally breathe, not even for the sake of questioning his sexuality and more so cause he finally feels like a piece of the puzzle clicked together

Homie has identity issues galore

It takes Jake back a bit to realize Neteyam is gay though, in part due to internalized earth stuff but also just because he has to admit that Neteyam is a teenager and still feels teenager things in a war

It's him realizing Neteyam only grew up in war, that its already been his childhood

Spider is demiromantic, bisexual, and trans. He has almost zero preference towards gender romantically or physically but feelings take a minute for him to develop. However, when they do, he falls hard

I love trans!Spider but don't use it all the time cause it's a process to work in canon

However, FTM Spider was sort of a clumsy coming out

Na'vi are intersex, it's very fluid, even if some still believe there should be some version of a binary

So no one quite understand why the humans are so strict on their genders or why it's such a big deal for Spider than he is a he and not a she.

He just sort of breaks down with Lo'ak and Kiri who panic and try to fix things. He thinks it's a big thing and no one really gives a shit, he's still the little stray human, but some of the older teens and stuff realize how much he cares and make an effort to make him feel good about it

He worries it'll make him more of a freak but he has a gaggle of siblings, and later friends, who reassure him that they couldn't particularly care less

His coming out is what triggers Kiri's

Kiri is an asexual lesbian who uses she/they pronouns

Unlike the romantic preferences, being asexual is a little bigger of a deal but Neytiri specifically will shut down anyone who gives her baby any shit

Being ace is a bigger thing because there is so much emphasis on intimacy and seeing one another, however, Kiri very passionately proves to anyone that she doesn't need sex to connect with anyone.

Lo'ak has actively gotten into fights to help when people start shit with them

Kiri didn't really have a sexuality crisis though

They just kind of knew, something her brothers are endlessly jealous of

Tsireya is her first crush though

Lo'ak is the one who gets it bad but Kiri admittedly fell hard for her

She was gorgeous and sweet, cared about the environment around them in a way no one their age ever seems to

Plus she stands up for her and Kiri wanted to show her what she sees so bad it made her stomach curl

But she stepped back for Lo'ak, as bittersweet as it was, she felt so good just enjoying the innocent feeling

It just felt good to have normal teenage feelings in the midst of a war

Lo'ak is bisexual, however, he would tell you he is Tsireyasexual

He is one track minded

The most loyal partner ever tho

Like, if you're his person, he is honed in

Being bi was never really a huge thing for him but he was the last one of all the teenagers to come out

He just forgot

He was sitting with Tsireya while everyone hung out and Tsireya pointed out a cute guy to him and they took in the view together while everyone kind of just ??? this is new?

It wasn't, homie really just forgot to tell people

It was a given to him

Funnily enough, he has the same taste as Kiri

Tsireya is not the first girl they both liked

While he is bi, he does lean mostly towards girls

He's a sucker for pretty

It's bad, Tsireya flutters her lashes at him and he'll do damn near anything

A simp (TM)

Tuk is too young rn to really care but when she's older, I think she's pan

People her age are much fewer and she just likes friends

Her first crush is Rotxo's little sister cause she keeps following him to hang out when Tuk is a preteen

She's hella obvious and all of the older ones think it's hilarious to tease her, she's worse than Lo'ak when he first saw Tsireya

She's bringing her shells and little flowers, trying to show off in games and dress pretty

Tsireya and Neteyam take mercy and help her get her act together but nothing comes of it

Once it starts tho she's a hopeless romantic

She has a new crush every other week of her early teen years but never gets to be a better flirt

She's a mini Lo'ak that way

He tries to coach her and says she didn't get it from him but it's obvious

Ao'nung is demi. He leans towards men physically but he is almost as bad as Neteyam in terms of thinking himself responsible for everyone

Tonowari tries desperately to break him of that mindset and Ronal is constantly trying to take pressure off of him but it's just in his nature

So he, like Neteyam, doesn't think about relationships much

He has, however, been a hopeless romantic with a laundry list of brief crushes over the years

He falls hard for Neteyam though when he arrives

Mainly because he finally feels seen, he's a big one on emotional connections

No one at home understands the pressure on him so when Neteyam shows up, shepherding siblings and standing as his fathers right hand, he doesn't know what to do

He tries to cover it up, worried still for the safety of his clan, and scare them off

A little selfish part of him was afraid of the feelings and wanted them gone

Clearly that doesn't work but, once they realize they both like one another, it doesn't take him long to latch on

He and Neteyam become close rapidly and fall into a relationship fast once things are started (a genuine surprise to literally everyone)

A very devoted partner; he learned from his Dad and takes being a good partner seriously

it took him a really long time to feel confident in himself so once he and Neteyam are together, he's devoted to becoming a strong partner to demonstrate a strong relationship to his partner

Metkayina are extremely family based and he will not let them down

Tsireya is pan

She has so much love in her she doesn't know what to do with it

Falls hard and fast, Ao'nung has spent years trying to keep her from falling for everyone who she connects just a little bit with

Actually did have a crush on Kiri too, though she had one on Lo'ak at the same time

Might by poly but she never investigates it

She's very spiritual and spends a lot of time with the ancestors so her partner needs to care too

Like she makes Lo'ak ask the ancestors for their blessing when she accepts his courting

He was scared shitless and got teasingly (?) threatened by her deceased uncle

She cares deeply about helping others to the point of being naive - she has gotten hurt before because of it so she needs some reassurances in relationships

Lo'ak is not her first relationship but he is the first really healthy one

She's prone to trying to fix people honestly, she doesn't get what she puts in a lot

However, when she does, she's a little angel

Gifts, cooking, help; whatever she can do to show her love she'll do

Wants to be Tsahik so she's terrified Neteyam will take the job

He lets her happily, preferring to be a line of defense for his people regardless

Rotxo has no clue what he is

He just knows he likes Spider

He's a giant softie

Like gentle giant himbo vibes but fiercely protective of his family

Very proud of his home and his heritage

He has two moms so sexuality wasn't really a big deal growing up, however, he just didn't really care

He just likes who he likes

He had a bigass crush on Ao'nung for a bit but later realized it was just a deep platonic love

Unlike most of the crew, he doesn't fall easily

Like he has had maybe 2 crushes his entire life

So falling for Spider is a shock

But he's just happy to find his feelings returned

He's a big provider type, likes giving gifts and taking care of his friends

He has a lot of issues about feeling useful and needed; he grew up in Ao'nungs shadow and so feels like he needs to fight to be seen

Hence part of how he and Spider bonded

While very gentle, he's very passionate about being a warrior once he finally feels like he has a reason to be

Does a lot of soul searching after the Sullys come

He still has a lot to learn about himself but feels much more at peace now that he doesn't feel like just Ao'nungs best friend

Friendships

Kiri and Spider have been best friends since the beginning

They met when Kiri was still an infant and Spider around 2. He still wasn't allowed to leave the labs but he snuck in to one of Kiri's checkups

He was a climber and a builder - hence his name - and so it was hard to keep him out of where he wanted to be

So when the toddler heard another cry in the building it was only a matter of time before he found it

He wanders, stumbling through the offices he's confined to and sneaking until he reaches the Avatars

Jake is there, Kiri in his arms, sitting next to Ms. Grace's tank. He's talking and it sounds like a story which Spider loves so he of course toddles his way over. He climbs into the Na'vi's lap without regard for his size, skin, or the fact that he's only met Jake a handful of times.

Jake, to his credit, catches the tiny human with a free palm under his butt. Paying no heed to the flabbergasted look on the mans face, he peers down to stroke the girls cheek

He flies for a moment while Jake tries to keep them apart but then the girl has his hand in her palm

She blinks up with big eyes and Spider offers a giant toothless grin: there was no going back after that

Neteyam comes with Kiri

He's Spiders age but double his size, 2' taller for the 2 months he's younger

Still, Spider doesn't let the few kids his age on Pandora get away. He's a social butterfly and opts to conquer Neteyam's introverted ways.

And so he toddles after the blue boy everytime he comes with his sister

Kiri is growing fast, especially next to human growth standards, but she still has a ways to go to meet Spider, so her big brother will have to do

It's 3 months of toddling after him, pulling his tail, and playing with the pretty beads adoring his hair while Neytiri tries desperately to keep the little human away from him

But, once again, containing Spider is mission the adults surrounding him have yet to accomplish

And so Neteyam finds himself with a little blonde flea attached to his side

He chases the younger boy through the halls, giggling at the tiny hisses Neteyam lets out when he catches him. He pulls his tail and climbs onto his big boy bed - he can use the grown up bunks now! - while Neteyam tackles his obstacles with ease.

The other boy is shyer but Spider has learned how to rile him up by now

They play for the hour or two that Jake spends with Kiri getting monitored in the labs. If Neytiri is there then it's harder, but Spider can normally get a story for them at least.

It continues on for a while with Kiri joining them as she starts to crawl, then toddle with their hair or her brothers tail in her fist

And it seems that gets Spider a little too comfortable

Namesake on full display, he tries to climb the bunkbed ladders of the bunk room while Neteyam is chasing him

He's gotten far too big for most of Spiders tricks to slow him down so the child thinks this is his chance to get a rare upper hand

Except bunk beds are tall and metal is slick and maybe Spider isn't really that much of a big kid yet

He really does try to catch himself but its too slippery and he hits the ground hard

The scientists around the lab don't like it when he cries and really does try to keep it in, but his arm really hurts and he can't help but let it escape

He waits for Neteyam to mock him or tell him to stop but instead finds himself craddled against the boys chest.

"Shhhh, shh, 's okay Spi, just stop cryin'. I-I'll get my Daddy and Uncl' Norm." Spider only shakes his head and cries more, clinging to the other boys beads.

"No'uh, 'm okay. 'm a big boy."

Neteyam stutters for a minute before he nods. The two boys stay curled on the floor for a few minutes then with Spiders arm cradled between them.

"Don't worry, 'm here Spi. Every'tings okay."

Their relationship is never as close as the others growing up but there's an understanding between them the others never have

They're equals, the two oldest brothers.

They might be opposites but they've got one another's backs...even if that's just taking left while the other takes right to corner Lo'ak at highcamp.

Neteyam never made friends easily

Spider forced himself into the picture and his siblings never really got a choice in the matter

Sure, being the Ole'ekytans son meant some of the other kids would clamor for his attention but he never did good at being more than casual

Responsibilities stack on him like like the berries on Tuks tarts: he doesn't have the time or strength to devote to anything else

His siblings are enough though. There's a war and he can't loose focus or they'll get hurt

He left them once and lost Spider - he won't let it happen again

It gets lonely though

He chases after his kid brother and protects his sisters from as much as he can but...there's no one to look after him

Then he meets Ao'nung

Ao'nung is brave and cool and gets it in a way his siblings just can't

He may not have grown up in a war but he has a little sister and another on the way - he knows the responsibility of an important father and its addicting to have that person in his life

They lean on eachother, quietly, and he finally has something for himself

He tells him things he never told anyone else

He talks about his fathers expectations and pressure, his mothers trauma, his worry over the human they left behind, and his fear for Kiri's future. He talks about Lo'ak running into danger and Tuk losing her innocence and Ao'nung talks about his anger. About the fear he has of whats to come, about Tsireya and how he worries this will break her. He's weak around him and Neteyam savors it.

Time goes by and he gets hurt. His arm might never be the same as it was and his ear still rings with the echoes of gunshots but he has his brother back and his family is safe

Neytiri finally, finally lets Spider come home but it's not over

He doesn't think it ever will be

But Ao'nung slips his hand into his and maybe he'll be okay

Maybe he doesn't have to do this alone

Rotxo was Ao'nungs first friend

They were friends from the first time they sat through lessons together and they've been attached at the hip ever since

Rotxo knows Ao'nung will be a great Ole'ekytan but he'll need a right hand and Rotxo is ready to step up

For a long time he thinks maybe he'll be more than that but the Sullys arrive and they both find that path a different way

Still, they're eachothers person

They back one another up no matter what and there is rarely one without the other

In training they pair up, have joint moves that they make just for themselves and know the others gaps or weaknesses like its their own

Tonowari didn't want to train them for war but they didn't want to risk being unprepared

So when the sky people reach their waters, they spend every hour they can steal with one another

They spar and wrestle and carve more weapons

Their hands shake with fear and adrenaline but they keep their thighs pressed to the others and carry on

Rotxo gains muscle mass and Ao'nung learns to use a bow Neteyam carved. They grow their skills, their strength, but also their fear

Unlike the Sullys, they didn't grow up with war on the horizon

They don't know what's coming and cling to each other while they can.

No matter what, they know they can rely on the other

It isn't until they see Quaritch dead that they'll let go of the breath they're holding but they hold the other up until then

Nothing could pry them apart and nothing that tries will walk away

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

Before you and Neteyam had your first encounter, you had little to no knowledge of each other.

Okay, that´s not fully the truth.

Stolen glances have been a part of your and Neteyam's daily lives

The first time he had noticed you, was at the tree of souls. He remembers your soft and delicate eyes moving over the beauty of Pandora, the way you reached for your queue, and connected it with the Tree of Souls, the way your eyes closed as your ears filled with the sound of your ancestors.

From then on somehow you were everywhere where his eyes landed.

Your figure always catches his attention, his eyes on you like glue sticks to paper.

It would be a lie to say the growing affection was unrequited. You yourself searched for the Na’vi boy in every crowd you found yourself in.

Once you and Neteyam made your relationship official to the clan, nothing but happy reactions were thrown your way.

The warmth, that spread through your chest from the affection and love his family offered you, a welcomed feeling you’d like to keep.

Neteyam always knew that the both of you would be together one day, the moment you caught his eyes, he had to make you his.

Throughout your relationship, your bond only grew stronger, the love he holds for you growing every day.

One of the aspects he loves about you is the way you treat his family, the way you don’t judge four-fingered family members like his father, brother and sister.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

Neteyam's feet touch the soft and fluffy earth the moment he lowers himself from his Ikran. The day had been long for him, his list of tasks was finally completed and no cry for his help ran through the air.

A sign for him to call it a day.

A sigh leaves Neteyam's mouth, preparing to be the next Olo´eyktan is like a rock resting on his already tired shoulders, but that rock seems lighter the moment you step into his presence. He lets his hands run along the warm skin of his Ikran, and a sound of comfort leaves its mouth. He chuckles, removing the string that holds his bow from its side.

He sets the things aside, fixating the weapon on his back and both of his hands are now filled with multiple belongings of his. Now walking back to the village, his Ikran takes it as it is and starts to hoover over the ground and flies away into the slowly darkening sky.

Neteyam watches him disappear but seconds later you pop back into his mind. The highest priority now. His steps quicken as his feet carry him to your shared tent.

“Y/N? Tìyawn, I am back,” he says, the smile evident in his voice, teeth glowing in the darkness of his home.

“Tìyawn…?” he trails off, only now realizing that the tent is dark, your nonexistent presence taking the light from his home. Without you, it is not his home.

He swiftly grabs the bow from his back and strips it off, letting it hit the ground with no care, he quickly emerges through the entrance of your shared tent and steps outside.

Seconds later, he finds himself standing in front of his family´s tent. His chest heaving in worry for you,

What if you weren´t here? If you were hurt?

But the worry is washed away when your laughter fills his ears, your laugh always eases his tense shoulders and let´s frowns on his face disappear within seconds. He used to joke about the hold you have on him, but over the time he spent with you, he realized just how much he appreciated you.

"No, no wait. He did what?" you laugh out, your smile reaching your eyes as you hold your stomach with soft giggles. Lo’ak sits across from you, both of you with crossed legs on the ground and surrounded by the rest of the Sully family. Neteyam’s eyes move over to you, your hands now back to being occupied with Kiri's hair as you braid it softly.

“I know bro! He’s such a skxawng.” Lo’ak replies, They keep on talking about whatever topic they moved to, the conversation blurs out in Neteyam’s ears, his eyes still on your form. If it were physically possible, his eyes would be heart-shaped.

"Pinky-promise me you will tell me if he does something like that again." You laugh out, well aware of the fact that you don´t own the extra finger like he does.

"How do you know what a pinky is?" he laughs in return.

"I just do." You smile, and in return, he holds out his little finger and you wrap your entire smaller hand around it.

“Neteyam! You are back!” a shrieking voice cuts through the trail of his thoughts as Tuk suddenly yanks at his right arm, he is forced to avert his glance from you and huffs out a laugh at her happiness.

"Tuk, I-" he starts to say before the little Na´vi that just clung to his arm starts to speak up again, now pulling him in the direction of you.

"Look! Y/N did this for me!" she says with a sparkle evident in her big eyes, pure delight reflecting in them. She shakes her head a little from side to side to show him her short hair which is now newly braided and equipped with beautiful orbs in different colors. Her movement makes them swing in the moonlight, the sun no longer framing Pandora.

"She did? It is beautiful." Neteyam smiles, Together they enter the warm tent, and your eyes are now finally pulled to him due to the loud words that left Tuk´s mouth.

Them entering the tent caused multiple greetings to be thrown the young Na´vi´s way, his family happy to have him back. But no answer can leave his mouth, not before he felt your warmth. Neteyam walks over to where you sit, your hands still occupied with Kiri´s hair. He takes a seat next to you and engulfs you in a hug, your back now pressed to his muscular chest, You huff out a breath in surprise at his uncommon actions.

"Neteyam? What are you doing? Your family is less than two feet away…"

"I just missed you, yawntutsyìp," he whispers, his lips finding their place on your cheek to give it a soft peck, You can´t help but blush at his close proximity. No one really seems to notice the exchange though, his family not paying much attention to the both of you, already used to the lovestuck pair.

"So, you did Tuk´s hair?"

"Yup, and now Kiris," you stated, popping the p.

"That is nice of you. I think my family likes you more than me." he chuckles and buries his head in your warm neck.

All you can do is blush.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

Something that Neteyam admires you for is the way you can easily read him

His body language or simply just the sound of his breaths can tell you what he feels and thinks

Like, when his father scolds him for something Lo’ak did and keeps saying that Neteyam should have taken responsibility

The way his ears lay flat against his head

Or when his shoulders tense up

No matter what, you are always by his side and know what to say and do to calm him

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

"You´re the big brother! It´s your responsibility to take care of your siblings!" Jake shouts angrily, his eyes reflecting the opposite of his harsh words. The fear and sadness are evident in his yellow orbs. He could have lost them.

"I´m sorry sir." Neteyam apologizes, his head hangs low and his eyes trail to the ground that he currently stands on.

"You should be," he says, his strong words causing his and Lo´ak´s ears to flatten against their heads. While Lo´ak keeps his eyes averted, Neteyam´s head raises slightly, his eyes now finding you who stands behind his father with a soft look on your face. He can tell that you can read him like an open book, and the moment he will be dismissed can´t happen sooner.

"You are dismissed." the older Na´vi huffs.

Neteyam lets a breath of relief leave his lungs, ears now back up to be able to catch all the sounds that are created by his surroundings.

He takes quick strides away from the scene, and the second he leaves his position he is by your side. His hand grabs onto yours and pulls you away in the direction of your shared tent.

"Hey, hey hey hey wait up tìyawn…" you whisper, just loud enough to reach his ears. He stops in his tracks and closes his eyes. When they reopen his orbs are glassy and a frown forms on his face.

"I´m okay. I just need a minute."

"You don´t need a minute, you need longer, and you are wounded and in pain so you´re not going anywhere. Let me treat you."

Neteyam can´t help but smile at your words, you´re the only one who can always see through his act.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

It is you that can erupt this warmth that spreads in his chest

No matter what you do or what is happening around him, no one can break his focus off you

He´s not sure, maybe it´s the way your body always seems to move with such grace and softness

The way the vibrant colors of Pandora's plants reflect in your eyes.

Oh.

Don´t get him started about your eyes. He could always look at them, the entire day, and not get sick of them.

He would never admit it if someone asked, but the fact that he is taller and all in all just bigger than you might be one of his favorite things

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

One sunny day, as you wandered through the lush jungle hand in hand, You stumbled upon a vibrant flower. It was a rare blossom with petals that changed colors, mimicking your own moods.

Neteyam went to touch it but you quickly slapped his hand away.

"No! Don´t just touch it! You don´t know what it will do if you make contact with it." you laugh, your eyes sparkle in the time of eclipse.

Neteyam stops in his tracks, his hand being pulled back with his own will to his side again. He can´t help but take a minute to admire you. Every day he is thankful to have you by his side, that Eywa has chosen the both of you to bond.

Your blue skin reflects the warm sunlight, your eyes always show this special spark that appears when he is near you. Your braided hair that is decorated with little colorful orbs, but no vibrant plant or shiny orb could get close to the beauty of your eyes.

"What?" you ask shyly.

"Do I have something on my face?" you quickly look to the ground and your hands touch your face, in search of any unwanted guests.

"No. No, I just. I don´t know, I like looking at you." he quickly replies, his thee-fingered hand cups the left side of your face, angling it upwards so he can look at your eyes again. They are big and round and hold so much love for him.

His stare never seems to lessen, you can feel the heat rise to your cheeks coating your face and parts of your neck with a purple hue.

A mischievous smirk appears on his lips, your eyes widening, already aware of what your lover is about to do.

"No, wait, Nete-" you start but are cut off when Neteyam quickly dips down and throws you over his shoulder.

"What was that? I can´t hear you from up here," he says, an amused look on his face as you´re still thrown over his shoulder. You start to kick a little and hit his back -with no intention of hurting him- in return.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

Situations like these always show that the size difference between the both of you is huge.

Like, when you simply talk or walk with him, he towers over you

He loves it when you compare hand sizes

Or just touching his hands, they might be a little rough from all the work he has done but you don´t care.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

"How about we compare hand sizes?" Neteyam states, complete out of the blue. You and Neteyam are currently spending time in your shared tent, cuddled up together in your bed.

"Why?" you laugh out, your face that just rested against his chest facing his own, a confused but amused look on you.

"I dunno, just thought it would be fun." he shrugs, his hand now moving towards your own. And now that you think of it, his hand is huge. Like really really big compared to your own.

"Oh…" you laugh, a small purple hue now coating your skin as he pushes his flat hand against your outstretched one. His fingers reach multiple centimeters over yours, his hand is almost twice as big as yours.

"You´re so tiny," he says with a smile and laugh, purposely trying to rile you up and get on your nerves. Although he loves annoying you and seeing that nose crunch you do everytime something doesn´t sit right with you, you won´t let him win this time.

"Well, being smaller has its good sides, you know, hiding from animals and all that." You try to defend yourself, your weak argument only causing his smirk to widen in return.

"But being bigger is still better."

"No, you need much more place and all that so clearly I win." you proudly state and continue on rambling about the positive aspects.

Neteyam no longer listens to your words, he loves your voice when you get competitive when it comes to your opinion on something. You and him know that this is all just a small bickering and small joke.

Everything that leaves your mouth is like music to his ears, your soft voice is something he could listen to all day. You keep on talking and talking, now a little less passionate about it, but even then you always pull him to you like a magnet.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

One of the reasons why he was so head over heels for you, is that you always seem to put everyone's needs before your own.

And it seems to be that your feelings are required.

Sure, you guys got closer to each other and actually became good friends, but no one really took the next step.

Before you and Neteyam made it official, everyone around you seemed to know just how fond he was of you and you of him, like his sister Kiri, aka your best friend.

She used to tease you about it all the time, just like Lo´ak made fun of Neteyam for not having confessing to you yet, whenever the both of you are together and you get all shy and embarrassed.

And that meant they had to take it into their own hands to make it happen.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

That one day, many days ago, you and Kiri sat by the bonfire, spending quality time with friends and family. The clan shared a feast after a good hunt. You laugh and joke the entire time, unaware of two eyes that keep following you wherever you go.

"Bro! You gotta get it together and talk to her already!" Lo´ak laughs and pats his brother's back with a little force, his body getting pushed forward a little by the sudden movements of his brother.

"No, I can´t do that, Look at her, she has such a great time, I can´t just barge in and force her to talk to me…" he replies, his head hanging low, aware of his aching heart that is seeking your affection.

"You´re overthinking big bro, common, now just- go-" Lo´ak pressures his brother and pushes against his back to urge him on.

"I just don´t think that today is a good id-" It seems like Lo´ak isn´t even listening to him as he himself stands up too and starts to walk with Neteyam, your direction obviously his new destination.

"Lo´ak-" Neteyam is cut off again.

Meanwhile, you and Kiri keep exchanging your experiences and the prior day you had, your difficulties and priorities when it came to your Clan.

Unknown to you, Kiri noticed the two Na´vi boys walking in your direction, and neither did she miss the teasing look on Lo´ak´s face.

"Y/N? When exactly are you going to talk to Neteyam again?"

"And about what should I talk with him?" you fired back with squinted eyes.

"Oh common now Y/N, you´ve been in love with my brother for Eywa know´s how long and haven´t made a move yet!"

"I have no idea what you´re talking about…" You reply, the fruit you were about to eat now long forgotten, the sudden topic erasing your appetite.

"You and I both know that Neteyam feels the same, he looks at you the way Dad looks at Mom, so don´t deny it any longer," Kiri argues, a knowing smirk on her face.

"Even if he did, do you think he would want to talk to me?"

"Well, looks like you´re about to find out." Kiri giggles while she raises to her feet and mentions with her head behind you, As you turn your head the view in front of you makes you suddenly shy.

"Uhm, hi," Neteyam speaks up, his tail behind him showing just how nervous he is.

"Hi?" You reply a small blush forming on your cheeks. Kiri´s and Lo´ak´s laughter blurs behind you.

Hi! Could You Do A Headcanon Or Scenario Of The Effects Neteyam's Na'vi Mate Has On Him, Like Things

The rest is history.

Let´s just say shy conversations turned into long talks and feelings have been confessed, Lo´ak and Kiri could not be happier.

And during your still-fresh relationship, the shyness finally dissolved into thin air, as the both of you got more comfortable around each other.

Last but not least Neteyam is being teased by Lo´ak to this day because you can make his knees weak without words.

For example, just your hands touching or you kissing his cheek as a thankful gesture.

But something he always looks forward to is cuddling.

The way your arms wrap around his waist in a way to close the space between you got him all blushing and smiling thanking Eywa for gifting you to him.

But besides cuddling, he could make out with you forever.

The way your smaller hands grab the back of his neck to keep him close to you

The warmth of your mouth that starts to claim his the second your lips connect, if he could the rest of his time alive would always be spent against your lips.

The feather-soft touches comforting him in a way like no other could, got him melting into your embrace.

To prove the effect you have on him, let´s take the situation like the other day when Neteyam got into a fight with his brother for causing trouble yet again.

The two brothers had been yelling at each other non-stop and Neteyam's blood kept boiling with anger.

Kiri had searched for you after the argument took place, Neteyam pacing angrily in front of Lo´ak.

The moment Kiri had grabbed your arm in a hurry and pulled you to your feet from your crouched position, she mumbled the situation to you and that you had to calm Neteyam down.

It only stopped Neteyam from yelling at his brother after you took his hand in yours

Your both hands softly wrap around his wrist in hopes of calming him down.

His expression softens at that and he glares at Lo´ak a last time before you pull him away all the way back to your shared tent

After arriving you urged him to sit down and take a deep breath for a functional discussion with his younger brother

He only kept on talking angrily about the rules Lo´ak broke and how much trouble they were going to be in

Not even your soft words could stop the water-flowing words spilling from his mouth, and the only idea that came to your mind to shut him up was to grab his face and pull his lips against your own.

Neteyam held his breath and only hummed in return, his anger for Lo´ak long forgotten.

DATING NETEYAM HEADCANONS

Something Neteyam always loves is your company

No matter how shitty his day had been, how many times he had taken the blame for one of Lo'aks recent troubling events

Your presence always cured his bad moods

He can simply not stand being away from you for too long, his definition of too long is everything that comes after a minute.

Y/N and Neteyam are sitting in the high, vibrant green grass. A comfortable silence swirling around in the atmosphere. There are not many days like today. On the one hand, Y/N is receiving lessons from Mo'at, learning how to successfully tend wounds. Mo'at is having a hard time with the girl, although she could not be more thankful, to be able to be taught by her a true blessing.

On the other hand, Neteyam is very much occupied with his archery and combat training, his father teaching him well.

So now here they are, just enjoying a moment of silence, a moment free of tasks that are just waiting to be done. A moment, where the two of them can relax and spend time with their most loved one.

"Neteyam?" You speak up, breaking the quiet atmosphere.

"Hmm?" he replies his eyes fixated on his lover's braids, which are currently resting between his soft but rough fingertips. He always loved playing with your hair, braiding it, or just simply touching it.

"I promised to help Tuk with her hair, she and I went looking for beautiful pieces to braid into it the other day," you say, a soft smile framing your face.

"What? No!" Neteyam replies, his annoyed tone is clearly visible, he stops tending your hair, his hands falling from your hair to your waist, pulling you close, flush against his chest to keep you from leaving him.

"But I promised! I can't just let her down like that you know that, I love spending time with Tuk."

Neteyam huffed at your response, his chin finding its place on your shoulder, his grip tightening around you.

"I barely see you anymore, tìyawn…" he murmurs against your neck, his hot breath fanning over it, pulling a soft shiver from you.

"Don't go," he whispers, so soft and quiet you would not be able to hear him if he wasn't this close to you.

"I can not bear the thought of you leaving me now syulang." he continues, his lips meeting your soft neck, the sensitive skin erupting into goosebumps.

Neteyam always needs to touch you somehow, In a non-sexual way, his body just seeks your warmth

In public, no matter who is around, he loves curling his tail around you

You walk among Neteyam and Kiri, This trip was supposed to be only you and Kiri, but Neteyam insisted on coming along, claiming "That he has to be there to protect you, in case something happens" He only received a glare and eye-roll from his sister when he said that.

"You do not have to be everywhere," Kiri states, her voice laced with annoyance. Y/N muffled a small giggle with her three-fingered hand, earning a teasing smile from Neteyam. They continue walking deeper into the forest, the plant that Kiri is searching for, not far away.

"I am not everywhere." the Na'vi boy says, his statement followed by a shrug of his muscular shoulders. His head turned towards Kiri, a plant touching his shoulder as he walked past it, lifting his arm to move it out of Y/Ns way, so she wouldn't be hit in the face.

"Thanks," she says, sending her boyfriend a soft smile.

"You are always where Y/N is, and with all honesty, she and I can not even share a moment to ourselves"

Neteyam scoffs, "That is not true!" he fires back, but continues: "I left her this morning to prepare food!" Neteyam defends himself.

The two siblings continue to throw words at each other, Y/N not listening any longer, her mind much more occupied by her surroundings, Pandora's nature always finds a way to make her heart skip a beat at its view.

The animals ears filled with the constant bickering they keep up, as they keep walking and walking, Y/N can feel something soft tingling at her thigh, with a confused expression, her eyes look down only to realize that it is Neteyams tail that starts to curl around her upper thigh.

Pet names are a must for the Na'vi boy

He adores to see you blush whenever one of his names for you slips past his lips, the way your cheeks heat up, a delighted view in his eyes

This boy has a particularly big amount of protectiveness for you

One guy talks to you the wrong way? Guess who goes home with a bloody lip…

You are just finished with the task Mo'at had given you in the morning, the soft light of the warm sun embracing you the second you leave your tent. Clean air hits your lungs, causing a relieved breath to flee your mouth.

The task was difficult, but it opened your eyes for the future, tending wounds will become as easy as walking to you.

Around this time of the day, you and Neteyam always meet at your usual spot, it is a large tree, with long colorful plants all plastered around it.

Almost reaching your destination, a blue figure emerges from the bushes a smile creeping on your lips, but it melts away the moment you realize it is not the boy you are currently looking for.

You remember the guy, his name is Kalun.

"Hey, oeyä." he says, that smug grin plastered all over his face.

It looks very punchable from this angle…

You decide to just greet him back and go on with your walk, sending him a small nod back, just as you step past him, his hand wraps itself around your wrist in a firm grip.

He spins you around to face him again, a gasp leaves your mouth at the rough movement he pulls on you.

"What do you want Kalun?" you say bitterly, him clearly overstepping some personal boundaries of yours.

"I was just thinking about you the other night… and I thought, maybe you want to accompany me one day soon.." Kalun says, a disgusting smirk forming on his lips.

"No thank you, At this point, I thought you noticed that I am very happy with Neteyam," you say with all honesty, trying to remove your wrist from his tight grip.

"Why tell Neteyam? Hmm? We can have a little fun, your little warrior does not need to know…" He whispers the last part, and not only disgust but fear rises in your chest. Your heartbeats quicken with each passing second, Kalun is always quite flirty with you, but he never took it this far.

"Please leave me alone, I am not interested in you."

Kalun opens his mouth again, but before another snarky comment leaves his lips, a fist collides with his face, sending him tumbling to the ground his back hitting it with force.

"Hands off kurkung." is the only thing that reaches your ears, Neteyam quickly hoovers above Kalun, his fist yet again meeting the side of his face. The sudden force on Kalun's face caused his upper lip to split open, warm thick blood dripping down his chin.

"If you touch her again, hell if you look at her the wrong way. A bloody lip is not the only thing that you will receive." Neteyam says with a flat tone, his jaw visibly clenched. Kalun just groans in response a big bruise starts to appear on his cheekbone.

Neteyam is not that jealous when it comes to you.

He trusts you with his life.

But there are moments that just stir him on, and the jealousy gets the best of him, he won't dare to tell you that though, he preferably suffers in silence.

He's the type of guy to not speak to you about this, though his body language clearly shows his tense thoughts.

Clenched jaw, scoffing whenever a guy tries to make a move on you, he knows you won't go for anyone else but the fact that someone even dares to try hitting on you just makes his blood boil.

His reactions are always based on the day that occurred, if he had not seen you the entire day, always occupied with his training. His jealousy is blossoming. Although he's a 5/10 jealous type, he can go from that to an 8/10 within seconds.

The moment he laid his eyes on you he knew you would be his mate one day, he prayed to Eywa that one day the time would come when someone would enter his life that special.

And to his luck that was you.

He makes sure to treat you with respect every single second he's around you, he keeps an eye on your tasks and if they might be too much. He knows you can handle them, he just doesn't want you to overwork yourself.

He is well aware that you are and independent young woman, with a strong heart.

But that does not mean that you don't deserve a break sometimes.

He loves taking you on date nights, simply walking together through the forests of Pandora. Going for a ride on your Ikrans, sharing bonding time with each other.

It's the little moments he cherishes with you.

He trusts you with his life.

This leads to the fact that no one else but you is allowed to treat his wounds. He knows you have learned the basics by Mo'at, that you are a good student and quickly pick up on the most important healthcare ways.

You sit in your tent, working on a new accessory for Neteyams Ikran, you want to surprise him when he and the hunting party return from the Great Hunt. He had been trained at a very young age and developed into a great young warrior.

All types of different colored stones lay before you, the knitting piece in your hand, softly adding and changing your new creation.

It had been a few hours since Neteyam and the others left the clan, a new place as their destination, hoping to return to their clan with great yield.

He left in the early morning, leaving you in deep sleep in your shared tent. Not trying to wake you from your peace he had left with a quick kiss to your forehead.

The gift for Neteyam is something special, but also a way to keep your mind off the dangerous position your lover is currently putting himself in, all his moves only to provide his clan, his family, with food. It keeps you occupied, the thought of a wounded up Neteyam pressed to the back of your mind.

"Y/N!!!" a shrieking voice cuts through the silence that lingers in your home, Tuk storming into it with a big smile plastered all over her small face. Her soft and big eyes filled with excitement.

"They are back! The others have returned!" She quickly walks over to you sitting on the ground, her small hands clasping onto your upper arm pulling at you to go with her.

"Come!" she says and keeps pulling, her tiny hand now intertwining with yours, you can't help but smile at her enthusiasm, her excitement-filled smile can always light up a room.

"Okay Okay! I am right behind you Tuk." Y/N giggles, letting Tuk pull her into the direction of the already-forming crowd around the people who returned. Many Na'vi in one place, everything happens so fast, happy greetings, Na'vi unpacking and talking loudly.

You squint your eyes close, in hopes of catching a glimpse of your boyfriend.

A hand places itself on your shoulder, you turn your head the observation is cut short as Mo'at stands before you.

"There you are child, I need your help treating the wounded." Her face was framed with a soft expression.

"Yes of course, what can I do."

Mo'at quickly leads you back to the tent you so often visit, The familiar workplace comes into view, and she kneels in front of a wounded warrior, starting to tend his wounds with her special treatments.

You yourself find your place with a young warrior, known by the name of Makeyo. He is a friendly guy, always sharing good conversations whenever the two of you meet. He hisses in pain, a decent wound on his left shoulder, blood trailing down all the way to his fingers.

"How did that happen?" you speak up with a small smile on your lips, trying to cheer him up, he has worked hard and well for his clan. He starts to tell you about the hunt, while you collect your ingredients to treat his wound, the paywll’s leaves softly ground into a soft texture, applying it to his shoulder to speed up the healing process.

He keeps informing you about the events that occurred, all the exciting parts and how much new knowledge he has earned by it.

A few minutes later, Kiri stands at the entry of the tent, sweat droplets forming on her forehead. A little out of breath she speaks up: "Mo'at, we need someone to treat Neteyam, he is badly injured."

Badly injured.

Without a second thought, you rise to your feet within seconds, ready to drop all your tasks if it is meant to help Neteyam.

Mo'at stops you in your tracks, her hand stretching out in front of you, "You, my child must complete treating Makeyo, Vin'eya shall treat Neteyam for now." She gestures to the other young Na'vi girl, She and you are good friends, both of you Mo'at's students.

Her facial expression is just as shocked as yours, she and you are well aware that you are always the one who treats Neteyam.

Mo'at holds her stern expression, you nod quickly, dropping back to Makeyo's side, continuing where you left off.

Vin'eya shoots you an apologetic look and emerges from the tent to treat Neteyam.

You are left with your thoughts, What if something really bad happened to Neteyam? Did he have much pain? Deadly injuries?

A few minutes pass, and you keep your task up high and move to the back, cleaning your hands of the substance you treated Makeyo with mere minutes ago.

"I do not approve." an all too familiar voice echos from outside the tent.

"Neteyam, wait! You have to be treated." Vin'eya's voice calls after the Na'vi boy, heavy footsteps approach the tent. There he stands, Neteyam in all his glory. Heavy and painful breaths leave his lungs, his condition worrying you. He had multiple big slashes across his chest and back, a pained expression on his face.

He breathes out in relief the moment his eyes fall on you, he walks over to you dropping himself to the ground and leaning into your side.

"Hey, hey. Are you feeling alright?" you say cupping his cheeks with your soft hands, he whines in reply and closes his eyes, leaning into your hands and enjoying your touch.

"It is only you, I want to be treated by," he whispers, his head falling onto your lap with still-closed eyes.

Your eyes never leave his form, already working on his wounds. What you don't notice are the looks shared in the tent, Mo'at and the others are well aware of the special bond between the two lovers.

The Body

Prologue ch1 ch2

Pairing: Older! Neteyam x reader

Summary: now that the war was brought to the sea clans the sullys aswell as the metekayina family that gifted them uturu, decided to run, this time farther, not just a days travel, but nearly a weeks worth, towards the end they were met with dense mountains, and then they found a tribe of navi, with wings, and they learn about the tsyal people and about the original navi.

Warnings: none, use of non cannon na'vi words

Word count: 1.5k words

Notes: didn’t really spend a whole lot of time or anything on this chapter so forgive me but I’m honestly not rally sure how to continue it, I hope you enjoy💋

The Body

The week of stories, spirit, and tradition had left a deep impression on Neteyam and his family. Each tale, every whispered memory within the Cove, had wrapped around them, forming threads that felt almost like roots, binding them to the mountains and the Tsyal.

Yet, Tehe’Ewna’s words echoed in his mind: “Before body must come spirit.” Now, it was time to learn the ways of the Tsyal physically.

The sun cast golden hues over the mountains as the day began, signaling the start of their physical training. Neteyam stood with Tuk and Tehe’Ewna, the others nearby, ready to experience the demanding lessons the Tsyal had prepared.

Tuk’s small hand squeezed his, her wide eyes brimming with anticipation and a hint of nervousness. Tehe’Ewna stood beside them, her wings folded elegantly at her back, her calm presence a steadying force.

The group was led by Taylan, a warrior with feathers braided into his hair and a commanding demeanor.

“Today,” he announced, “you will learn the art of balance, agility, and moving as one with the land.” His voice carried the authority of someone who had mastered the mountains, and Neteyam found himself listening intently.

They began with a series of exercises designed to strengthen their bodies and assess their agility. Taylan led them to a rocky incline that climbed steeply, dotted with boulders and narrow paths.

It was an obstacle course of sorts, crafted by nature itself, with vines hanging down and patches of moss that made the footing unpredictable. Tehe’Ewna watched the group with a gentle yet focused gaze, her wings twitching slightly as if sensing the anticipation.

“Stay close to me, Tuk,” Neteyam said, adjusting his grip on her hand as they prepared to climb.

He could not help but feel protective of his little sister, but Tuk had a determination in her eyes that matched his own

Tehe’Ewna, always graceful and fluid, crouched beside them. “Do not fight the land,” she advised, her voice melodic and soothing.

“Move with it, feel the energy beneath your feet. Let it guide you.” She demonstrated, leaping lightly onto a boulder, and using the momentum to propel herself upward, her wings flaring for balance.

Neteyam took a deep breath, studying the way Tehe’Ewna moved, how her steps seemed almost effortless. With Tuk beside him, he began to climb, each step more deliberate than the last.

The incline was steep, and the rocks shifted slightly underfoot, but he remembered Tehe’Ewna’s words. Instead of forcing his way upward, he adjusted his movements, feeling for the rhythm of the land.

Tuk, though smaller and less experienced, mirrored her brother’s determination. She clung to Neteyam’s side, her small limbs working to keep up.

“I can do it,” she said, her voice fierce with concentration. Tehe’Ewna stayed close, a guiding presence, ready to catch Tuk should she stumble.

As they climbed, the land challenged them—loose stones, sudden dips, and patches of moss that made their footing treacherous. But there was also a sense of exhilaration.

Tehe’Ewna offered guidance, pointing out safe paths and occasionally using her wings to steady herself. “Balance is not just physical,” she explained, her voice carrying over the mountain breeze.

“It is mental. Trust yourself, and the land will trust you back.”

Neteyam began to feel a change within himself. His body, initially tense with effort, started to relax as he moved with the natural flow of the rocks.

He noticed how Tehe’Ewna’s wings would open slightly to catch the wind, and though he did not have wings, he mimicked the way she shifted her weight to maintain balance.

Tuk, too, was finding her rhythm. She laughed when she managed to leap over a small gap in the rocks, her joy infectious. “Did you see that, Neteyam?” she called, her face glowing with pride.

“I did,” he replied, smiling. “You’re doing great, Tuk.”

Tehe’Ewna beamed at them both. “You are learning quickly,” she said, her tone full of encouragement. “This is the first step to becoming one with our land. Soon, you will move as though you have lived here your entire life.”

The climb ended at a ledge overlooking the valley below, the view breathtaking. Neteyam stood there, catching his breath, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Tuk was beside him, her small chest heaving with excitement, and Tehe’Ewna’s wings framed her as she looked out over the land.

“Every challenge we face here has a purpose,” Tehe’Ewna said, her eyes reflecting the morning light. “It connects us, reminds us that we are part of something greater.” Her gaze turned to Neteyam, and he felt the depth of her words.

He was beginning to understand that living among the Tsyal was not just about physical strength but about embracing the balance that defined their way of life.

And with that understanding came a newfound respect for the mountains, the clan, and the path he was now walking.

The Body

The late afternoon sunbathed the Tsyal mountains in warm, golden light, casting shadows that danced across the forest floor. Neteyam found himself walking through a winding path, the sounds of rustling leaves and distant bird calls filling the air.

Tehe’Ewna was at his side, her wings folded neatly against her back, moving with a natural grace that he was beginning to appreciate more with each passing day.

It was a rare moment of calm, and Tehe’Ewna had suggested a walk through one of her favorite trails, a place she often came to think or simply exist among the beauty of their home.

Neteyam had not expected to enjoy it as much as he did, but there was something soothing about the forest, especially in Tehe’Ewna’s company. Her presence was gentle, yet it had a strength that drew him in, making him feel strangely at ease.

“So,” Tehe’Ewna began, breaking the comfortable silence, “what did you think of the training today? Was it different from what you were used to?” Her voice was melodic, like the gentle notes of a song carried on the wind.

Neteyam chuckled softly, running a hand through his braids. “It was definitely different,” he admitted.

“The Omaticaya taught us to be warriors, to hunt and fight. And the Metkayina... they showed us how to live in the water, to ride Ilu and hold our breath for long dives. But here…” He paused, searching for the right words.

“It is like everything has a deeper meaning. It is not just about surviving; it is about balance.”

Tehe’Ewna nodded, her eyes thoughtful. “Exactly,” she said. “Balance is everything to us. It is what keeps us connected to Eywa and to each other. Even our training is meant to remind us of that.” She smiled at him, and he felt a warmth in her expression that made his heart skip a beat.

They reached a clearing where a small, tranquil pond lay surrounded by wildflowers. Tehe’Ewna walked over to the water’s edge, dipping her fingers into the cool surface.

The pond reflected the sky, a mirror of soft blues and gentle clouds. Neteyam joined her, kneeling beside the water, watching as the ripples spread outward.

“It’s beautiful here,” he murmured, almost to himself.

Tehe’Ewna glanced at him, her smile softening. “I come here often,” she said. “It’s where I find peace, especially when the world feels overwhelming.” She tilted her head slightly, her eyes meeting his. “Do you have a place like that?”

Neteyam thought for a moment, his mind drifting back to the towering trees of the Omaticaya forest and the endless expanse of ocean with the Metkayina.

“I guess I did,” he said, a touch of wistfulness in his voice. “But being here, everything feels so new. I have not found a place yet... though, this could be it.”

Tehe’Ewna’s wings fluttered slightly, a delicate movement that caught his attention.

“I’m glad,” she said. “You know, it is not easy, adjusting to a new way of life. But you and Tuk... you are doing well. Especially you.” Her eyes held his, and for a moment, it felt like the forest around them grew quieter, the world narrowing to just the two of them.

Neteyam felt a blush creep up his neck, and he laughed to break the tension. “I’m just trying not to embarrass myself too much,” he joked, though there was sincerity in his words.

“And Tuk... she has made it easier. Having her around reminds me of home.”

Tehe’Ewna’s expression softened further. “She’s a wonderful spirit,” she said. “Curious and full of life. Much like you, Neteyam.” She reached over, placing a gentle hand on his arm.

Her touch was light, but it carried a warmth that lingered.

They sat there for a while, talking, and sharing stories. Neteyam found himself opening up more than he expected, telling her about the adventures he’d had with his siblings, the challenges they had faced, and the hopes he carried for the future.

Tehe’Ewna listened with genuine interest, occasionally sharing stories of her own, tales of growing up among the mountains and learning the ways of her people.

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting a golden glow over the pond, Neteyam realized just how much he enjoyed being in Tehe’Ewna’s presence.

She had a way of making the world feel lighter, of making him feel like he belonged. And in that moment, he knew that maybe, just maybe, he was beginning to find his place among the Tsyal.

The Spirit

Prologue Ch1 Ch3

Pairing: Older! Neteyam x reader

Summary: now that the war was brought to the sea clans the sullys aswell as the metekayina family that gifted them uturu, decided to run, this time farther, not just a days travel, but nearly a weeks worth, towards the end they were met with dense mountains, and then they found a tribe of navi, with wings, and they learn about the tsyal people and about the original navi.

Warnings: none, use of non cannon na’vi words

Word count:2.5k

Notes: i mainly focus on world building and what the tsyal clans traditions and ways of living are so it’s probably a bit boring but i hope you guys like it 💋

The Spirit

The first morning after their arrival the forest and reef na’vi were gathered by Tehe’Ewna “Today will be your first impressions of the clan for today we are going to take you to the cove of tales, if you want to live among us you must understand us, learn our core values, our way of life, our stories, and our traditions. These are things that will be essential to living among us and being able to adjust.” Tehe’Ewna even spoke with grace, her words flowing together in a melody, “this will take up your first week before we move on to having you learn our ways physically, though before body must come spirit.”

As she explained what the plan was he became curious. when the sully’s had arrived to the metkayina it was almost immediately he was learning to breath to dive and to live in the water, there had been little to no spiritual teachings other than going to the cove of ancestor’s since most clans had nearly identical spiritual practices, it made Neteyam wonder just how different this clan was.

It was not a long walk to the cove, it was a relatively short path from the ground caves that were their new homes to the deeper part of the clan where the entrance was located at the base of one of the surrounding mountains.

inside was narrow winding tunnel also relatively short, it widened as they got closer to the destination and inside was a circular cave clearing in the mountain, the entrance itself was accentuated by a winding arch of vines.

There was a semi-circle of stones meant to be seating for times of storytelling, there were carving in the stone, intricate details, and the entirety of the cove was adorned with bioluminescent moss and fauna, illuminating the cove in an ethereal glow.

Woven tapestries hang along the rock walls of the cove alongside paintings, depicting stories and the history of the clan.

Small altars are placed at the base of a waterfall and along the edges of the cove.

Neteyam was awestruck, there was nothing like this in the metkayina nor the Omaticaya, as they all took seats the winged na’vi began “this is used as a home of stories and celebration, today we start at the beginning, the oldest and deepest of our tales, the phoenix.”

As she spoke, she drew their attention to the largest of paintings. from the back of someone, they were depicted with wings that were bigger than a young Ikran, horns taller than Neteyam’s head twice over, their wings were starched out to the fullest capacity, and they had a glow around them, small tendrils of magic.

“She was the first daughter of Eywa, she was created to keep the balance of Eywa’Eveng gifted with wings to soar through the skies and a soul deeply attuned to the life force that connected all things. For ages, she upheld her purpose, nurturing the natural balance and guiding the creatures Eywa had brought to life. But her loneliness became a persistent ache, leading her to yearn for beings who could walk, speak, and share her life in a way that Eywa’s animals could not. Among her wings and horns she was given a gift from Eywa above all else, she didn’t just protect balance, she was balance, in one hand she held life and creation, in the other she held death and destruction, so she went against the great mothers wish, and used this gift to birth the Tsyal and the na’vi race,”

the group was in awe, this was a tale they had never heard from any clan or elder, but they could sense she was being truthful in her words, “we were unlike anything Pandora had seen: graceful, intelligent, with wings and horns that reflected our creator. The Phoenix infused us with her wisdom, courage, and resilience, believing we would be her partners in upholding Pandora’s balance. Eywa, sensed this break in the natural order, grieved at the Phoenix’s defiance. She reminded her daughter that every life on Pandora was interconnected and that introducing a new species—one not woven directly by Eywa’s own hand—would create ripples in the delicate web of balance she maintained. Though Eywa did not destroy the Tsyal, she distanced herself from the Phoenix, trusting that her daughter, who was made from balance itself by the great mother’s own hand, would face the consequences” as she spoke, she had an air of passion, immersed in the story she told.

“This choice left the Phoenix with a profound sense of guilt. She had been created to nurture and protect the balance of Pandora, yet her own actions had introduced a new force within the ecosystem, one that came from her personal desires rather than Eywa’s vision. She had been driven by passion and yearning. We as a people were born of blessing and burden so intertwined one cannot be separated from the other, because of this the Tsyal dedicate ourselves in nurturing the balance, we address any imbalance such as over population personally, we always remain in tune with Eywa insuring to never go against her wish for balance and equilibrium. Every aspect of life has been cultivated to ensure this.” They were all captivated by this story no one more that Kiri.

“why would the phoenix go against Eywa if she was made to carry out the great mothers wishes?” Neteyam wondered the same of the first daughter, “she did not mean to, she was led by desire, and while she was creating to keep balance, she was also given free will, to make her own decisions apart from Eywa, just like us, while people can tell us what to do it is up to us whether we follow their words or not” she had a look of amusement on her face as if telling a clueless child something painfully obvious, which she essentially was.

“is she was the first daughter why have none of us heard this before?” Tuk was the next to speak, “Well as we grew, we left these mountains, to dense forests, swamps, and plains, our horns and wings were no longer needed, disappearing over many generations, we were met with new environments, and we adapted.” She had a gentle smile as she spoke her response “and it was not just wings and horns that were left behind, so were traditions, annual celebrations, and festivals. All of these were left behind in the face of change, and the new beginnings they faced.”

The day was spent like that, her sharing the traditions and ways of the new clan, it took Neteyam by surprise, he learned things he had never known, she was right, every aspect of life was in line with balance, never taking more than necessary and dedicating themselves to Eywa.

As the week continued, he learned more of the clan. The diet was plants grains and little meat usually from small animals, fish was a delicacy saved for celebrations and major events. He learned mating traditions, what is done in grief and death, and at the end of the week they were taken to the spirit tree, to them it is the Kaltum cave, or the heart of Eywa

The Spirit

The day started earlier than usual with extra people, a warrior Taylan, a healer Xan ’kore, and a group of younger ones, Kahlo, At’ok, and Ni’alu. In the outskirts of the clan was located a mountain so tall no Ikran, not even Makto could fly over it, there was an entrance at the base of the tunnel that had shocked Neteyam when it was revealed because of just how well hidden it was, as they entered there were winding tunnels with steep incline, he ended up holding Tuk so she wouldn’t fall.

as they were walking the healer spoke “the sacred tree embodies the balance of nature and spirit, it is said the phoenix herself planted the seed, marking the birth of the na’vi and so that it would forever be a reminder of the importance of balance.” She spoke from the front of the group; he was in the back along with Tuk and Tehe’Ewna.

Over the week he had gotten to know her better, he would often accompany Tuk to her lessons with the other children of the clan Tehe’Ewna and others there to be the teachers, they would weave and do crafts to entertain the children.

Surprisingly Tehe’Ewna was curious of the previous two clans Neteyam had called home, she would tell him more about the clan and rituals and other things he would need to know, Tuk also took a great liking to her, constantly asking questions and the three of them exploring the mountains with him and Tuk on his Ikran.

As they descended the tunnels him Tuk and Tehe’Ewna in a slower pace then the rest, a little behind. And while Neteyam was at least a head above her when walking her wings surrounded him, at first when they would go for walks in the forest with Tuk she would try to restrain them and prevent them from making him uncomfortable, she quickly saw he didn’t mind and that she was able to relax and not dwell or focus on them.

After about 15 minutes of walking the tunnels, like the cove of tales, became wider and taller, only what they lead too was infinitely more beautiful.

Inside the circular cavern was full of luminescent fungi and moss with crystals imbedded in the walls, but in the middle held The Kaltum Tree, its trunk tall and gnarled, with a wide base that tapers as it reaches higher, giving the tree a presence that feels ancient and wise.

The bark luminous, etched with patterns that resemble constellations, giving it a celestial appearance.

These patterns glow softly, only adding to the beauty of it, The branches extend upward and outward like great, feathery wings, These branches are draped with clusters of bioluminescent flowers Each one emitting a warm, radiant glow that casts colorful shadows on the cave walls, making the entire cavern come alive with shifting colors.

The leaves of the Kaltum Tree are long, thin, and iridescent, shimmering like jewels when touched by the ambient light of the cave. When they rustle in the faint underground breezes, they make a soft, musical sound, like chimes, enhancing the mystical ambiance.

The branches stretch wide and high, filling the cavern with a protective, sheltering presence, it brought the phoenix to the front of his mind, imagining this is how her presence would feel.

The air feels warm and carries a faint, sweet fragrance from the tree’s blossoms, the entire atmosphere was full of energy, it made him speechless, the spirit tree back home and the cove of ancestors was one thing, this place was so much more.

“When one feels they must reflect, or receive guidance this is where we go, many receive visions during the path for self, seeing glimpses of their place in the clan, what their future may hold, and even their mate.” Tehe’Ewna spoke to the group she herself in wonder.

“This is the most sacred place in these mountains, we call it the heart of Eywa because people sometimes receive visits from the great mother herself, to show the path she is intending for you to follow, most end up legends, their stories told for generations.”

In the Omaticaya, not everyone faces Iknimaya, you are given challenges to prove your worth as a warrior, you must catch a banshee, in the Tsyal, all are faced with the Yulun’ay, the journey to self.

There are six total aspects of the journey, the first is the journey of reflection, you spend about a week strengthening your bond with Eywa, you journey into the mountains facing the elements, and learning to sustain life, while keeping balance.

The second is the crafting of the totem, this is crafted during their time in the mountains from what they can find, branches, stones, feather, leaves etc. it is meant to reflect oneself, their personality, and their journey. Once they come back to the clan, it is blessed by Tsahik and is placed in the cove until it is put in their home as decoration.

The third is the sacred marking, much like the metkayina, they are inked, like the walls of the cove, their skin imbedded with ink from burnt herbs, so that when they have children and grandchildren they can point to it and say “this is from my Yulun’ay”, it also marked them, in their role as a protecter of the balance.

The fourth is the gift of wings, in the Kaltum parent and close loved ones give gifts, titled as a Nah’ru, wings of spirit, they serve as representation of life, freedom, and guidance, and as a reminder of the new stage of their life, once the person has all their gifts the family member all put their hands on their gift, infusing it with their love, and support.

The fifth is the yalaru, the dance of transition, it is a communal celebration of the clan, the participant performs a dance, telling the story of their journey to the clan, symbolizing their passage into adulthood. Elders and parents join in, creating a unified circle that represents the past, present, and future of the Tsyal.

The last step the sixth is the acceptance of responsibility, in a private ceremony in the Kaltum, you pledge to serve and protect the Tsyal Clan and keep the balance of Eywa’Eveng. It is said to bind them spiritually, many say that they feel as though the tree itself acknowledges the commitment, then you are to choose a path, crafters, hunters, healers, or spiritual guides, then a mentor will choose to teach you how to follow the path.

It is entirely different, almost completely a spiritual journey, instead of proving your ability to provide, to hunt, to fly, you become Intune with Eywa, reinforcing your belief of balance, Tehe’Ewna told him that balance is more than just taking and giving, it is existence itself, dark and light for example, one cannot exist without the other, no light without dark, and vice versa.

This is their way of life, something taught from birth to death, imbedded in everything they do, their ways have been evolved to continue to uphold balance in every aspect.

Tehe’Ewna made an example for them, connecting to one of the lower falling leaves to connect their kuru with

Connecting with the Kaltum is was euphoric, he felt only peace, he could feel the souls, the memories, the hopes, the dreams, the love, of all the souls connected to the tree, he felt Eywa, and the phoenix, the feeling of protection, of home, filled his system, he was floating, drifting away from the cove, the people around him, in that moment he was intertwined completely with the ancestors, with all the life on Eywa, we was nothing, yet he could feel everything, like a dreamless sleep.

The Arrival

A continuation of this ch2 ch3

Pairing: Older!Neteyam x reader

Summary: now that the war was brought to the sea clans the sullys aswell as the metekayina family that gifted them uturu, decided to run, this time farther, not just a days travel, but nearly a weeks worth, towards the end they were met with dense mountains, and then they found a tribe of navi, with wings, and they learn about the tsyal people and about the original navi.

Warnings: none

Word count: 1.6k

The Arrival

Neteyam was mad, he was angry, not only was he forced to move from the forrest, his home, but now, now that they had finally been able to settle, they were leaving again. But of course, perfect soldier boy Neteyam could not say that, could not show it, he had to be calm, and take whatever orders he was given, he had to build his walls higher, stronger as not to show his disagreement with the path his father had chosen.

Since he was little, he has had this weight on his soldiers, being future leader of the Omaticaya he had to learn to hunt, to fight, all the skills to be a good leader. His days were taken up my training and more training and when he wasn’t training he was keeping an eye on his siblings and spider, and when he wasn’t doing that he was either sleeping, eating, or bathing, and on the off chance he wasn’t doing on of those his mother was showing him and introducing him to potential mates in the clan. And when his Iknimaya came around he had spent months preparing, perfecting everything he has spent his life learning, and it paid off, he was able to bond with his banshee, Sikra, on his first try and the celebration was one of the only moments he could truly relax.

When they moved to the Metkayina even more weight was pilled on he had to be perfect, to not cause trouble, to not so much as breath in the wrong direction, he had to relearn everything he knew. And now that he and his siblings had gotten used to this new life and began to settle, they had to run again, to flee.

One difference is that it was not just the Sully’s who were running, it was also the metkayina Olo’eyktan and his family, after the RDA had killed Ronal’s soul sister they lead an attack on them, failing and causing more damage, now it was not only the Sully’s in danger but them as well, they showed great distain for this suggestion but in the end came to see this was how they could protect the clan and keep themselves safe as well. They had done a similar thing to what Jake had done in the forrest by passing on title of Olo’eyktan and Tsahik to others so that the clan will continue to thrive in their absence.

The Arrival

The journey to the Metkayina and been nearly a day of travel, but now his father had decided that there would be no chance of being followed, and Neteyam was tired, it had been nearly a week of travel for the two families and it was crowded, the Metkayina of the group having no Ikran to fly once they reached land. Because of this Neteyam had been stuck with Ao’nung for the past 3 days, though he was annoying he had become less so once he started to accept the sully family as a part of the Metkayina, and all of that had been undone within the first few hours of flight and had progressively gotten worse.

Though it was starting to seem that any chance of finding a clan was slowly dissipating, when they had first reached land, it had been hilly field progressively the hills got higher and closer together until they became tall rigid mountains, forcing the group to fly higher than ever to get past them.

As the hope of finding a clan let alone one that would take them was fleeting the mountains got slightly less rigid, less cold and continued to do so as their journey continued, once they started to see signs if navi life the mountains had gotten more manageable to bypass and they were able to see a clan, a clan that had even Ronal gasping in wonder and awe, these people they were seeing were flying, each had a pair of wings on their back that allowed them to be carried by the winds, Neteyam was transfixed by them, they had horns that twisted and curled, wings that varied from the purest of white to the deepest of black, many seemed to be in the same state, gawking at their foreign brothers and sisters, before backing away, turning to land.

That’s when Neteyam saw it, the clearing, the steep mountains surrounding it, the land was beautiful, and as he followed his father to what seemed to be the heart of the clan the amazement in his eyes only grew when he saw the people up close, well closer than before, they were creating a crowd in the air, people talking flight to see the runaways, once they landed the crowd didn’t lessen nor did the noise.

Some people, warriors, started pounding their chest yipping and calling as Neteyam and Aonung got off Sikra, finally getting to touch land again.

It was only a few more moment before everyone was off the Ikran and grouped together. Then the crown started to calm and part creating a path for a group of people came through elders, whispering among themselves, not yet getting close enough to contact the new navi.

Neteyam went to the front as the eldest of his siblings, standing with his parents, greeting the elders in front of him “I see you”, as he makes the gesture with his hand to show good faith, though they stayed unmoving, until he heard it, another call, this one alone, and ringing throughout the crowd, a clearing was made even the elders parting to make room and bowing their heads, it was an older man around his dad and Tonowaris age as well as a woman next to him, they were Tsahik and Olo’eyktan they landed, harsh eyes landing on the navi. He seemed to frown, but not in a way that made Neteyam think he disapproved.

“what could possibly bring forrest and sea people to these mountains?” he aims the question at the two couples, “we seek uturu, a home, we have been driven away by sky people, forced to flee to protect our clans, we will learn your ways best we can, we will make ourselves useful, we simply ask that you teach us.”, Tonowari spoke with emotion and confidence, trying to show this man the hardships that have brought them here.

The Tsahik was unlike his grandmother and Ronal and any other he had seen during clan meetings or trips to other clans his father had taken him on, she wore a top made of feathers that matched the ones attached to her, they were arranged in a way that came up and covered her neck, she had similar pieced decorating her wrists and ankles.

She came up to them getting close her eyes blazing across Neteyam’s skin and moving to his brother, she grasped his Hand lifting it up to inspect it “you are deformed” she stated looking to his brother before once again moving on, as she went around inspecting the families the Olo’eyktan continued to speak with the past leaders, “you all are made for the Forrest and sea how will you adapt to us, you have no wings and your pets will not be of good use, they will not be able to replicate our wings, you do not have our gifts, you are utterly useless here” the man was harsh challenging our will to be here, his father spoke once again “ well be weavers, crafters, gatherers, healers, we will make ourselves useful.” His father spoke with certainty in his voice, which is when someone new joins the crowd.

Taha’ Ewna Neteyam would come to know, she flew over with a grace he had never seen, she wore clothes similar to Tsahik, with feathers in her garments and decorating her head, Neteyam was enthralled, she was different from any Navi he’d seen before, so we’re her people, her wings were huge, they must’ve been the length of two of him, and he was tall, somewhere between his father and Tonowari, her skin was smooth and glowed in the sun, she cheeks were sharp peaks on her face and her eyes piercing green, like the leaves of a tree. This must’ve been how Lo’ak felt when he saw Tsireya , as she came beside Olo’eyktan most likely her father and her eyes landed in him his thoughts stoped as her eyes met his , he once again said the greeting and spoke the words, at least he think he did, he felt his brother nudge him before the Tsahik spoke, “ we will grant uturu to you, and you will be taught our ways” the whole group seems to let out a breath, relief.

“My daughter will show you to your homes,” the girl looked over and gave them a friendly smile before she took a step closer to them, “hello, I am Taha’ Ewna, bring your Ikran so I may show you your new homes.”

As she lead them through the village there were many who gawked, unlike the Metkayina, who had hid their children, the newly discovered clan allowed the children to be curious only stopping them so they wouldn’t over step, she showed Tonowari and his family to their home first, it was cave type quarters carved to act as a home to navi, and it wasn’t a long walk before she showed the Sully’s their new home, “I hope your first impressions of the clan were good ones, we have never had outside navi anywhere near the mountains let alone welcomed to the clan, so I hope you can forgive out ignorance if we showed any” as she spoke she wore a kind smile to show she was genuine, “tomorrow me and others will come to collect you so that you may start to learn our ways, until then hope you settle nicely in your new home.”, she bowed her head before leaving and the Sully’s were left to unpack, but Neteyam still couldn’t stop thinking about her.

Scrapped TigerSeal Idea, But Cute Stand Alone.

"One thing about me..." Tsireya hummed as she thought of a fact about her that not even her brother knew. This game was rather difficult, as Lo'ak had explained to her earlier. It was meant for more sky people friends to get to know each other better, as they don't spend nearly as much time with each other as Na'vi get to. But, it was a challenge she was more than willing to take if it meant she got to spend time with the Sully siblings. She had gotten to learn some interesting things so far, and a couple of things about her brother that she didn't know before, "Is that I dislike sea grass wraps on my feet."

"But your hands and face are fine?" Rotxo leans his head forward to stare at her incredulously. It was true, that she enjoyed caring for her body, proper amounts of sleep, strict balances of different foods, and she did put a lot of effort into caring for her skin.  But her feet? She was revolted at letting anything touch her feet.

"Yes, of course," She felt a bashful giggle work out of her. She supposed that was the point of the game, expressing things about yourself that you normally wouldn't, so others can learn about you. Even the silly little things.

"But that is the best part!" Neteyam blinked at her, his arm finally out of the awful sling. A small scar rose above the rest of his skin, lying not too far away from his heart. "Resting your tired feet from a day of proper labor?"

Tsireya couldn't help herself from blanching. Nope, nope, nope, she could feel the sogging plant between her toes already. Her stomach twisted in response to the thought.

"Absolutely not." She crinkled her nose. "Let's move away from the subject of feet, your turn!" She looked up to the rock the tawtute had perched himself on. She found it a little odd how he always was on top of things, but Tuk told her that's just how Spider was. Granted that wasn't the only thing...unique about the young male. However, Tsireya found herself enjoying Spider's company. He was thoughtful and open to the world, similar to Lo'ak and Kiri. He held a kind and protective demeanor, an observant eye like Neteyam. He was just as playful as Tuk. So she couldn't say all sawtute were bad, or good, she could tell that Spider was a child of Ewya, which made him a friend of hers.

"One thing about me is that my name means war relief or soldier's relief." He smiled as glanced over the group. Tsireya could feel her ears pricked which her curiosity. His name meant that? She didn't know sky people names had meaning.

"Hold up Monkey boy, when did you learn that?" Kiri twisted her head over her to glance at her brother. Her eyes held a serious intent. Tsireya noted the surprise from the rest of the Suli siblings.

"Yeah bro, when did you learn that?" Lo'ak placed a hand on Tsireya's knee as he leaned forward to look around her.

"Spi-ter means war relief?" Ao'nung's tongue was a little thick on the other's name, well, all theirs were. The other teen's name was definitely not Na'vi. The syllables and sounds just didn't sound right together. Thus she often, like her brother and friend frequently butched his name just a little. Tsireya, did feel bad about it.

"Ah...No" Spider rubbed the back of his head. He rolled his head side to side with his shoulder swaying as well, his five fingers almost touching each other as his upturned palms were held close to his body. Tsireya had deduced the movement as an unsure body gesture, she had only seen Toruko Makto, and the dreamwalker that visited after the Battle at Three Brothers do it before.

"So, Spider isn't actually my name, it's a nickname." Tsireya needed to blink, she had been staring for a bit too long. His name wasn't Spider? "My name is Miles Javier Socorro, but rarely anyone uses my middle name." His name was Meilys?

"Now I'm confused, why don't you use your real name?" Rotxo folded his arms and looked at Spider with some skepticism. Tsireya could understand. It was a lot to take in. Why wasn't his family name Tshaka? or Tsykeitan?  What was a middle name?

"So I'm adopted like Kiri, and my birth parents died in the battle of Hallelujah Mountains," Kiri was nodding along, however, Tsireya noticed how Kiri's face went solemn. Tsireya glanced at Lo'ak for some type of answer. Yet his face was drawn tight as well, his eyes downcast at the rock below them. Tsireya was hoping that Neteyam would be more upbeat, but his face was hard, ear pinned back with distaste.

"They were bad people though, they attacked the Na'vi. I was only a week old at the time. My Dad, or at least his memories, were put into a dreamwalker's body. He's the one who led the burning of the Anerui village, and the hunt against the Tulkun and the one who held you hostage on the ship." Spider's voice grew quiet. He was ashamed. "His name is Miles."

"Miles means war, doesn't it?" Neteyam spoke, his eyes trained on Spider's folded, defeated-looking body. Like just telling them that had exhausted him.  Spider nodded languidly.

"Miles is from the dead language called Latin, it technically means solider or warrior, but it's been so well associated with war, that it can be used as the word in some cases." Tsireya's mouth was dry and hot. Who could find war so beautiful, that one would name a baby after it?

"My mother's name, Paz Soccorro, in Espanol, her...tribe's native language," Spider glanced at Ao'nung and gave a weak smile, Tsireya felt something in her chest untwist as Ao'nung gave his own reassuring smile back. When had she started feeling sick? "Means Peace relief."

"War and peace, huh?" Lo'ak barked with a disbelieving laugh. Tsireya could share the sediment. That was truly ironic.

"What does Quaritch mean Spider?" Kiri asked, her voice wobbling from the topic of the nightmare that made their family flee their home. Spider sighed, how could Tsireya feel his saddened soul from one gust of breath? His family name, his ancestors, had cursed him by giving his name to be of violence.

"Quaritch is thought to be of Slovak origin, which means a smith, or a special maker of something," Spider rolled and rested his back on the rock. His face was no longer visible to her, but Tsireya was certain that Miles, (Spider?) wasn't proud. His tongue flicked the sky people's word out easily before returning to the mother's tongue.

"So his name would be war maker," Rotxo concluded. Tsireya rubbed her thumb between her fingers. Sawtute names had meaning, deep meaning, it spoke of their ancestors and their actions.

"What does Tsykek's name mean?" Tsireya found herself asking before she could stamp the thought down. Spider sat up and glanced at her.

"His full name is Jacob, Jake is his nickname. And it means to follow, or one who seizes. Some believe that it means deceiver. It's Hebrew, the language I mean." Tsireya watched Lo'ak jaw relax and open. His enchanting eyes were wide as he gazed at his older brother.

"Does dad have a middle name too?"

"It's Oscar." Spider grinned as Lo'ak started cackling, and Tsireya found herself laughing along with them. As much as she respected the warrior, sky people names sounded awfully silly.

    "Kiri, your turn!"

"One thing about me..."

After Aonung Receives His First Tattoo It Is With Kiri With Whom He Wants To Celebrate That He Is Already

After Aonung receives his first tattoo it is with Kiri with whom he wants to celebrate that he is already considered an adult instead of a child or teenager still… (although also because it means that he can already mate once he chooses his partner and wants that to happen but with Kiri and only with her)
