Re-design of Druzy Quartz, the fusion of Orphiment and Kunzite. I like this much better than the last design so this is the new canon design.

Kunzite (purple- right gem), a very long time ago, at the beginning of the war for Earth. was given high rank and praise for doing something important related to the colony. After this, Kunzite became.... Full of herself and lazy. She would push tasks to her underlings while she got to laze about and do nothing. She said she was helping them! Maybe, if they tried hard enough, they could be almost as good as her!
Orphiment (yellow- left) is one of Kunzite's underlings. She is a plant researcher for homeworld who hates getting dirty, and hates her boss even more. She goes to great lengths to avoid organic grime and muck, and hates having to get down in the dirt for missions.
Kunzite, in the retreat, left an item of importance to homeworld on Earth (undecided what), and returns to get it thousands of years later. Or, rather, she sends Orphiment to get it while she relaxes in the safety of her ship.
Orphiment gives the crystal gems the runaround, and eventually leads them aboard the ship, ready to take the item home. Even if she kinda..... finds these Earth gems and odd earthling funny. If weird. She just wants to get back to clean homeworld.
Kunzite finally acquiesces and stands to face the crystal gems.... As a fusion. She orders her underling to fuse with her, so she doesn't have to put too much effort into the battle. Hey, look on the bright side, it's an honor to be able to fuse with one such as herself!
Druzy Quartz, their fusion, is boisterous and loud. Sorta a mix of Saradonyx and Sunstone personality-wise. She has two mouths. One talks in text shorthand/l33t speak while the other.... quietly corrects the grammatical errors. She has a large squeaky hammer as a weapon, combining Orphiment's syringe and Kunzite's spiked knuckles.
When defeated, Kunzite throws a temper tantrum. She should have won! She's always been told she's the best, so why did the crystal gems win! They must have cheated!
Orphiment finally stands up to Kunzite at her tantrum and tells her that if she had maybe helped, they would have won. And she's not actually so great. The rest of the ship crew pipes up in agreement. Kunzite is greatly offended and runs off to find a "better crew" who will "understand the benefits of the favors she gives them".
Orphiment gives the crystal gems the artifact back, and goes off into distant space with the rest of the crew. Off to see what wonders await out there without Kunzite breathing down their neck.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
Ahh so many thingsā¦Iāll have to go with his love for Kunzite, it makes the whole first season so interesting, adds doubt into just how evil the Dark Kingdom really is when that kind of love can exist, and itās fun to see how he just melts around Kunzite after being so evil the rest of the time like heās a totally different character. ā¤ļø Also honourable mention to his fire attack, the scenes when he uses fire are my favourite action sequences in the series. š„
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
I donāt love that he kills Nephrite. I wouldnāt want to change it because it would diminish the story and how Zoisiteās character works, youāre supposed to feel ambivalent and conflicted about him, but wow, the scene is just brutal to watch. š¢
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
I think he drinks as much as Nephrite. When he comes to harass Nephrite at his mansion heās also there to pinch some of his liquor. He has higher tolerance than Kunzite so Kunzite often tries to cut him off and Zoi pouts because heās fine. He frequently has drinks with Thetis to talk shit about Jadeite. š¹

KunZoi third life headcanon:
As charming as I find the idea of āhousewifeā Zoisite, I think it would actually be Kunzite whoād be home more. Sure, Kunzite would have long work days (and heād be a bit of a work-addict), but after the day is done, heād love to just stay home.
Zoisite, on the other handā¦ Oh boy. Heād have many irons in the fire. Heād probably not only study and work part-time, heād also have like 5 hobbies, and modeling gigs on top of it all.
In other words; in that life, it would probably be Kunziteās turn to be the jealous one. ;)
I know that Kunzite/Zoisite isnāt going to be a thing in Crystal and I mourn that, but Iām trying to accept it. Ā Still, you will pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands: They still tend to lounge around together when not on missions and talk shit about everyone else. Ā Theyāre on fairly good terms with Jadeite and Nephrite, they still have those bonds between them, theyāre upset when they get hurt, but they also are just totally dicks to everyone else together. They even turn practically as oneĀ to glance over at Nephrite begging for another chance with these amazing skeptical looks on their face. KUNZITE AND ZOISITE: Ā HANGING OUT TOGETHER TO BE DICKS TO EVERYONE ELSE IN THE DARK KINGDOM. YOU CANNOT PRY IT FROM ME.
