Lord Of The Rings With a Platonic, Child Reader From Our World
Characters included : Frodo Baggins, Legolas, Samwise Gamgee, Peregrin ' Pippin ' Took and Meriadoc ' Merry ' Brandybuck
Note(s) : They don't have the time to turn around, so you sort of get roped into joining them, at least until they find a place for you to stay.
Also, in this the reader knows about the Jackson movies but never really paid attention to them, and they haven't read the books.
Frodo Baggins
Ah, yes, Frodo. Resident ring bearer and anxiety magnet. He was quick to defend you if any suspicion arouse of your random arrival, you're a human and can't even reach his height, the Hobbit that can't reach an elves or humans chest, so, you must be incredibly young. Because of this, Frodo can't help but want to help you, especially on the quest.
He's very sweet and caring with you and makes sure you get enough rest. Frodo can't exactly carry you, so if you get too tired to walk the most he can do is hold your hand and guide you along. Despite that, he helps in other ways.
Like how he's always giving you extra food and maybe even a spare coat or blanket that's laying around, he makes sure you get enough sleep even if it means he gets less. Given he's the most important part of this mission to destroy the ring, he's usually a bit babied and overprotected, not so much that's it's immediately noticeable, but it's there.
So, he understands how annoyed you can get when it happens with you, though he definetly thinks your situations are different considering he's technically an adult and you aren't even close to being one.
Frodo isn't too sure how to help you when it comes to you being afraid, or angry, or even just in a state of depression about your situation. He doesn't exactly realise how strange and overwhelming it must be for you, until or if you begin to start wearing down mentally. His solution is to try and read you stories, no, he didn't exactly bring any books with him, but he has certain books memorised.
It may help, it may not, but the thought is what counts, and he is trying to help you the best he can with the unfortunate situation he's in.
If you ever claim to know him or the fellowships story, maybe Bilbo's, or even accidently letting in on events to follow, he's stunned. At first given the fact you claimed to be from a land nobody, not even Gandalf, has heard of, the strange reactions you had to their foods and way of life, among many, many other things, he became convinced you weren't human. That, or you were from a different time, the future specifically, he'd never fully believe it or bring it up, but it's always a sneaking suspicion you aren't what you claim.
When it comes time to leave you at a safe village, you're clearly unhappy, wanting nothing more than to stay with the Hobbit who helped you through your toughest hours. Yet, he understands you mustn't come with him, it's far too dangerous for you. And so, he leaves, leaving you heartbroken.
When he eventually returns, the ring destroyed, Middle Earth saved, he can't help but feel empty. His time spent with you becomes short lived, a few months at most, before he decides to move on, leaving you alone again, I suppose it makes leaving Middle Earth to return home easier, but all the more bitter.
Legolas
Legolas understood how weak humans are compared to his kind, and to see a human child so alone made his heart break. He couldn't help but become your protector, especially when you seemingly had no idea how to function in this world. Sometimes, if you're too tired and the rest of the group isn't, he'll pick you up, it can make you feel a little weak, but he assures you it's just because you're young. He'd treat any other child the same.
I think he may be one of the few to actually understand in part what you mean when you say you aren't 'from here'. He won't clock in immediately, but after seeing just how different you viewed life and just everything in general, how you can't do the most basic of tasks without some help, or how you looked at him with such familiarity, there's just a lot he notices that makes him raise a brow.
If you tell him, Legolas may believe your making it up, you're a kid after all, one that's going through a lot. But, after realising you're dead serious he wracks his brain trying to remember if anybody has ever mentioned something like this happening. He wants to try and help you go home, and plans to bring you home with him so he can find a solution somewhere. And if he can't find one? He wants to help you find peace in your predicament as long as you stay there.
When it comes time to leave you at a safe haven, he is sad to leave you behind, you're a little friend, after all. But, he understands it must be done, and explains to you exactly that, which makes the ending a bit more sweet than bitter.
Eventually, he does return, and meets with you once more, he understands that in a blink of his lifetime you'll be dead, but, that doesn't stop him from being your closest ally during all of this. However, you do need to return to Earth. He finds himself mourning you far sooner than he expected.
Samwise Gamgee
Sam becomes a literal dad, you're a random human kid in this traumatic journey to destroy one of the most dangerous items in the entirety of middle Earth, and you claim to have no idea where you are. He's giving you extra food, holding your hand and picking you up, if you get too cold or scared in the night he'll try hugging you for a while and telling you stories of misadventures in the Shire. As plain as they may seem compared to a journey to destroy the most dangerous object in the entirety of Middle Earth.
If you're sad, the most he can do is offer comfort in the way of cuddling, or a story, sometimes he even has to ask Gandalf for help because he's just so lost. Anger is something he can deal with a little better, he holds your hand and tells you why you should be angry, but you shouldn't keep it bottled or use it unfairly against others.
I think at first Sam would just believe you come from a strange human place, and that's why your behaviour is so off. That's until he notices some things, when asked about things he'd consider basic knowledge, you are completely blank, sure, maybe you know what an elf is, but after that you sort of just stare at him confused at what he's talking about. You even believed him to be a dwarf at first!
He asks Boromir and Aragorn if they know any human places that you're talking about, neither know, so he's even more perplexed at what on middle earth you're talking about. He begins to believe you're making it up, he's not condescending like most adults, and he pretends that he understands if to give you some peace of mind, but all it does is make you more frustrated and scared. You just want to go home.
Your short time as friends comes to an end, he must leave further on in the journey, and you must stay behind, you both understand, well, he does and you partly do, all you can do is wait for the ring to be destroyed.
Sam returns, and he takes you back to the Shire with him, where he introduces you to everybody, you're almost like a child to him, but then you leave to go back to Earth. He can't stop his heart from breaking, even more so when Frodo leaves.
Meriadoc 'Merry' Brandybuck and Peregrin 'Pippin' Took
The fact you're incredibly young, found yourself in a traumatic and confusing situation, let's not even mention the fact there's little people with gigantic hariy feet and no shoes, you'll probably try and cope. Whether that's with humor or shutting down, Pippin and Merry are a package deal, no matter if you like them or not, a young and confused presence egnites their curiosity.
Besides, Gandalf specifically told them to not be overbearing and or overwhelm you, so what does Pippin, master of disappointing and angering the grey wizard do? That's right, he becomes overwhelming. And Merry, master of attempting to one up his dear friend, does the exact same.
How they do this depends on your mood, if you're depressed and very shy they'll try cheering you up, asking questions about your home, if that makes it worse? They begin acting even more childish than usual to make you laugh, to the literal pain and torture of Gandalf. But if you're trying to cope with humour, they are more so just tagging along, making jokes that distract you from your pain.
Neither will clock in that you're from an unfamiliar world, sure, you're weird, but so are they. Both assume your strange actions are simply just a result of you being a human, do Boromir or Aragorn act the same? No, but you're a human kid so, that probably factors in somehow.
Both laugh you off if you try to explain the truth, they don't believe you, and reduce it to a good story that they can give to Frodo to write about. You may get angry, sad, or just decide to go with it, neither really notice that you're not lying until someone else points out how dumb that idea is.
When it finally comes time to drop you off, you want to stay with the two, because while they're in part strangers and this is a strange land, they're at least familiar, unlike the place they're basically abandoning you at. Pippin and Merry feel the same, and so sneak you with them.
The situation may become dire, and you probably get incredibly unhealthy and sickly in your time with them, but when it's all over, you feel like you've gained two older brothers. Which will make it so much more painful when you have to say goodbye.
I did this on one of my old accounts that i ended up deleting for some reason, i donât remember, but here. Back on my Lord Of The Rings BS, letâs gooooo. Thisâll be the fellowship with everyone intact, no one is dead.
As always requests are open and let me know if you want more!
LOTR x GN! Reader, general headcanons for if you had to take care of them today, in 2023. Enjoy!
The ring most likely has no power in this dimension, so yay Frodo is free from torment!
Sam loves watching cooking, gardening and home renovation shows, and he gets very invested in the former two. You learn a lot you didnât really need to know from his commentary
Once Pippin learns about pyjamas and fuzzy slippers he never goes back, you literally cannot get him out of them
Boromir and Aragorn, being human and coincidentally two of the most responsible members of the fellowship, are the easiest to take in public to the grocery store and such.
You can pass off the hobbits (if they cover their ears with their hair) as children, and Gimli is your friend with dwarfism.
Gandalf you can pass off as your grandfather, and Legolas looks pretty normal if you cover his ears.
Pippin is the type to bounce in his seat in the car and ask âAre we there yet?!â every 5 minutes
Frodo really likes to draw, especially when thereâs so many cool places and movies to draw inspiration from.
Movie nights? No horrors. The hobbits are terrified by âem.
Movie nights are literally so difficult because they all have such different tastes
Merry really likes James Bond movies.
Pippin is obsessed with nail polish when you introduce him to it. Boromir gets his repainted every time the polish come off. His nails need serious help after a while
Pippin and Merry often start pillow fights, and drag everyone else into it
If you have space for a garden or plants in your home, Sam is on it. He finds it calming, so now you have some home grown plants :)
Taking the hobbits in public? Bad idea. You can trust Frodo and Sam, but Merry inevitably drags Pippin off to do something dumb and possibly dangerous.
Gandalf has an old man rocker. There is no discussion.
The hobbits do the classic âgetting one sibling to ask for fast food because whoeverâs in charge will say yesâ, they get Frodo to do this because he has the best puppy dog face and heâs unsure about asking for things normally.
Pippin and Merry cannot handle too much caffeine or sugar or they go crazy
You thought Legolasâ hair was good before? He steals your hair care products and his hair is literally perfect.
(Heâs also willing to do skincare with you, not that his face needs it. Again, flawless)
Game nights are so chaotic. You canât play a lot of games since they donât know what many things from this world are, so games like Trivia and Charades are off the table
Gimli and Legolas verse each other in video games, often enough it ends with Legolas winning and Gimli rage quitting
Aragorn is so responsible heâs literally the perfect man to do anything with, and he can hold the fort down if you need to leave
Pippin is so clingy, he trails you wherever you go and asks you random questions but itâs adorable
Boromir insists on carrying your stuff, bags of groceries, all that
Frodo often goes to the library to find new books to read, with you of course
Thereâs a whole debate on whether 3D or 2D animation is better, i would not get involved if i were you.
Pippin and Merry are also avid fans of quoting their favourite movies, once they see them
Legolas and Frodo are the best listeners, they will just sit there and not judge or try to give you advice they just. sit there. like the perfect men they are.
Legolas would have a meme for everything. Like any situation. You text him like âPIPPIN FELL DOWN SOME WELL WE DONâT EVEN HAVE A WELL HELPâ and he just has a meme that fits the situation perfectly.
Frodo and Legolas would watch Avatar: The Last Airbender together because itâs their favourite show. Aragorn jumps in also.
Those three are also avid tea drinkers.
Boromir likes Game Of Thrones. I donât know anything about it, he just does. Please confiscate Pippin while he does.
Pippin gasps dramatically whenever a plot twist surprises him.
Sam loves to cook, and he does a lot of cooking in the house once he arrives. You two just work together in the kitchen (if you canât cook, heâll teach you) and have nice sweet conversations
Legolas is great at doing peopleâs hair. If you ask him to, heâd probably agree, though heâd probably be a bit flustered as that is a courting ritual in his culture.
Ask Legolas to talk to you until you fall asleep. His voice is so heavenly istg-
The hobbits get sleepy when their hair is played with and itâs adorable
Wonât lie this hyperfixation came back then it circled back to TMNT and today i watched these films with my friend and now iâm back to LotR love. Most of this has been sitting in my drafts for a couple weeks.
Anyway, I think thatâs about it from me, I hope you guys enjoy! :)
If you want to request, rules are pinned on my page! Let me know if you want a general part two or a set of modern headcanons for a specific character. I love LOTR in the modern world content so much.
Have a good day, and remember that you are loved!
In the mood to make myself cry, plus Iâm in my âi was i wasnât lonelyâ phase of the night.
Pulled most of these from my notes app lmao, and i listened to each one while writing, I highly recommend giving them a listen!
GN! reader, mostly you/your used :) (Obviously some songs will involve specified gender, please correct as you need, and remember that these characters would absolutely make these changes as well)

Frodo Baggins - Hopelessly Devoted to You - Olivia Newton-John (Grease)
He definitely has the distinct memory of the classic slow burn moment of âOh. Oh.â happening, where he realises just how much he loves you. He knew he was head over heels, and he looks at you like you hung the moon. And if you sing it to him- UGHđ©đ. IN LOVE, HE SHALL BE. He probably hums it a lot when doing work or writing. Of course, the lyrics are quite relatable to him. Frodo has this internal belief that the person/people he love/s canât love him nearly the amount he adores them. He was willing to sit around and wait on you, in the hopes that you would see him in the same way. His brain knew he should just move on, but he couldnât let go, and heâs glad he didnât. Heâs so devoted to simply loving you.
âHold on to the end, and thatâs what I intend to do. Iâm hopelessly devoted to you~â

(gotta appreciate that me looking up his name resulted in a bunch of po-tay-toes memes. anyway. back to the hcs)
Samwise Gamgee - Hello, Hello - Elton John ft Lady GaGa (Gnomeo & Juliet)
Heâs a sucker for meet-cute stories, and would unironically love this movie, even setting aside this banger of a song. The moment he saw you, he felt captivated by your beauty, whether or not the meeting went well or if you fell on your face. The song is just so cheerful and wholesome. He probably told you that the song reminded him of you, and that sparked the romantic relationship. Every time this sequence plays heâll just look at you (if/when you watch the movie). PLEASE SING THIS AS A DUET WITH HIM AAAA. (He isnât Elton John, but his voice is lovely đ„°)
âHello, hello (Hello, hello), my, my, my, what have we here?â

Peregrin Took - Iâll Be - Edwin McCain
Honestly itâs hard to explain this one. Itâs just so soft and sweet and really describes how he feels about you. Also as the youngest and a, quoting Gandalf here, âfool of a Took!â, the line âand Iâll be, better when Iâm olderâŠâ is just- MWAH. This song reminds me of him honestly. He is, as the song states, âyour crying shoulderâ, the âgreatest fan of your lifeâ. Everything about you takes his breath away. We all know heâs the best singer in the fellowship, and its just gorgeous to listen to him sing it, especially because he means every word. He also probably dedicated this to you early on in the relationship, and it was definitely your wedding song (if you got married).
âIâll be, better when Iâm older. Iâll be, the greatest fan of your life~â

Meriadoc Brandybuck - Nothing - Bruno Major
Honestly you wouldnât expect such a lowkey song for such a high energy guy, but heâs a sucker for lazy days and sweet moments. Heâs, as he likes to say, âwork-avoidantâ, and just wants to spend all his time on you. He also finds the song easy to sing to you, so thats a plus. The lyrics just resonate with him, similar to my picks for Pippin and Frodo. Heâs very competitive, but he honestly doesnât mind losing to you. He pretends like romantic or soft movies donât make him cry, even if they do. He gets the appeal of going out and drinking and laughing, but just staying at home with you just sounds so much nicer to him. Its all about the little things in life with him, the small moments, the laughs, and every âI love youâ that makes him feel lighter than air.
âDumb conversations, we lose track of time. Have I told you lately? Iâm grateful youâre mine~â

Aragorn - Dark Red - Steve Lacy
He knows how dangerous his work and life is, and heâs always had this fear of leaving you behind (hence the âsomething bad is âbout to happen to meâ). He only sees you in his life, no matter who else is wanting for his attention, heâs so devoted to you. He only hopes that youâll stay by his side and fight with him, and heâs not willing to give up on you. No, he refuses to give up when you are involved, and he fights so hard to keep you safe and protected. The song also is easy to mumble to you when heâs tired, and itâs soothing for him to listen to. Itâs just a symbol of how much you mean in his life, and how he trusts you with his heart.
âOnly you, babe, only you darlinâ, only you~â

Legolas - Lover - Taylor Swift
Unabashed Swiftie in general, but this song just hits different. So first off he probably already called you his lover, and when he found the song he thought it was perfect. I can definitely see him learning guitar and playing this song for you as well. Into the actual song analysis, this song frames his want to be close to you, the mysterious way he was drawn to you, the way he felt like time flew by whenever you talked. Also I feel like heâs made jealous relatively easily, and thatâs also in the song. His heart has been borrowed before, but heâs glad heâs ended up with you, to hear your jokes, save you seats, and call you his lover. He definitely likes to sing this to you late in the night, and i can see him humming/mumbling it whenever the two of you just stand and hold each other. Its so wholesome, and he loves the way your eyes light up when he sings it with all the love in his heart, all of it for you.
âYouâre my, my, my, my⊠lover~â

Gimli - If You Love Her - Forrest Blakk
Honestly, heâs not a very observant dwarf, but he does pay attention to you. He knows you, and he cares a lot. Protective of you to a fault, but just wants everyone to know that they shouldnât take you or your heart for granted. He hates to admit it, but he thinks you are precious (IâM SORRy-) and every small thing about you is worth taking note of. And he does, so he knows exactly how to make you happier. Heâs your personal hype-man, and truly believes that you are the best thing he has ever had. He uses the song as a guidebook on how to treat you, and while he wonât say it, or sing it, he does play this song for you and leave in a huff, just hoping youâll know this song is meant to say that he loves you. (He might even dub it over with your preferred pronouns for the big reveal, and itâs quite funny)
âTheyâll love you, if you love them like that~â

Boromir - Summer Love - The Workday Release
Boromir really thinks this song demonstrates his feelings towards you, and how he wishes youâd stick around with him. You remind him of the summer, warm, bright and hopeful. It was so simple for him to fall in love (itâs like counting 1,2,3). Heâs awestruck by your beauty, and doesnât find it enough to dream about you, he needs to be holding your hand, feeling your presence. He wants to face the world with you there next to him. You always manage to give him a smile, make sense to him, and be honest. Heâs not sure how to articulate everything he feels around you, so he just says that he loves you.
âSurely this is love, this is love, this is summer love~â

MASTERLIST | AO3 | WATTPAD
(Y/N)âs nose twitched, the pungent, musty scent of the incoming vile beasts invaded the fresh earthy tones of the Greenwood forest. Her keen ears picked up on subtle scurrying, the sound carried by the drift of the soft wind. Her jaw clenched and her fingers adjusted the grasp of her sword as she felt the aura of the trees shiftâa surge of adrenaline fueling her anxiety, worsening the pain in her abdomen. Briefly locking eyes with the other elves in her sector, spread among the trees alert and ready, she knew their moment of action was imminent.
(Y/N) summoned the little energy she had through a deep inhale, praying to the Valar that these spiders wouldn't be in such a frenzied state. Because, if so, fuck that. For at the present moment in time, she really didn't have the capacity to deal with that absolute, motherfucking horseshit.
Because, truly, getting killed due to slowness from fatigue and cramps from oneâs bloodmoon cycle would be rather unfortunate and deeply regrettable. However, facing expulsion from the guard and losing her reputation as one of the hand-picked defenders of the royal line because of it would be even worse.
(Y/N)âs gaze narrowed as Prince Legolas, leader of the Greenwood Guard, raised a closed fist.
NĂȘl (Three).
TĂąd (Two).
MĂźn (One).
He opened his palm, signaling the command:Â Kill them. Kill them all.
With a firm thud, (Y/N)'s boots landed on the soft soil as she sprung from the trees. She was quick with her blade, hunting the spiders as if they were meaningless prey. Her weapon was an extension of her form. Every movement was fluid and graceful, a testament to her mastery of combat. Despite her pain, she spun and twisted with ease, severing the arachnids' limbs effortlessly.
As she fought, she made sure to keep an eye on the Prince, knowing that if anything were to happen to Legolas under her watch, the king would surely banish her. Besides, she harbored no desire for him to meet his demise. She found him ratherâŠadmirable. Nothing more than thatâof course not.
As (Y/N) advanced upon one of the vile beasts, her senses tingled with warning. Abruptly, she halted in her tracks, narrowly dodging an arrow that whizzed past her stomach. Her eyes narrowed as she wiped her head to see just who fired that arrow. A scoff escaped her lips as she locked eyes with him:Â RekĂłn.
When the battle came to an end, (Y/N) strutted towards RekĂłn, who was wiping the edge of his blade upon his thigh.
âWhat the hell was that out there?!â She snapped at him.
âWhat is it you speak of?â
âYou nearly put an arrow in me!â
He shrugged. âPerhaps, you should have been faster, Shadowfoot.â
She scoffed at Greenwoodâs nickname for her. âYou're lucky I am fast. I can assume you donât want elven blood on your handsâespecially my blood.
He sheathed his blade and crossed his arms. âDonât exaggerate, (Y/N). Itâs unbecoming. Besides,â he leaned in and his voice lowered, taking on a snarky tone, âI don't care if you're handpicked by the King to be the Princeâs shadow, you're a pain in the ass.â
âReally, Otuuk Fe`Saign (warg kisser)?! I could have you and your ass in the mud faster than you could sayââ
The rather tense interaction was interrupted by Legolas clearing his throat beside the pair. âWhat is going on over here?â he demanded.
(Y/N) huffed, not taking her eyes off the man before her. âRekĂłn here nearly redecorated my abdomen with a fucking arrow!â
The Prince sighed. âYou know we canât always calculate every motion on the battlefield, (Y/N). I am sure RekĂłn meant no harm.â He paused, turning his attention to the ellon. âRekĂłn, in the future, mind your arrows.â
âThatâs the reprimand he gets?! Are you fuââ
Legolas looked at the elleth. âWatch your language, Shadowfoot. I expect this attitude to be gone by the time we enter my fatherâs halls.â
With that, Legolas walked away, calling out orders to burn the spider carcasses and move out.
As he disappeared into the mess of elves, (Y/N)âs brows pulled downward in a grumpy frown. âPrinceling Ass,â she murmured to herself.
Unbeknownst to her, as she turned away, Legolas' gaze followed her, seeking out her form and lingering as she walked away.
âŠ.
The sun had not yet risen when the Princeâs sector of the Greenwood Guard arrived back in the Palace. The warriors dispersed into the armory, diligently stowing their weapons and armor in their designated places. (Y/N), however, did no such thing. Instead, with a persistent scowl etched on her face, she marched through the room and passed through the arched exit of the armoryâpresumably heading towards her chambers. Legolas's gaze tracked her suspiciously as she departed.
As the day progressed, the members of the Princeâs sector resumed their usual routines. Because it was their first day back from patrol, they were exempt from basic guard duties and standard positions. Instead, they utilized the early hours of the morning to bathe and rejuvenate themselves before gathering in the dining hall for breakfast. The remainder of the day was theirs to unwind and compile their patrol reportsâthe King sought to stay informed about all occurrences and perspectives during patrols, for a darkness seemed to be spreading among his trees.
At supper, Legolas moved among the tables in the dining hall, gathering last-minute reports from the warriors in his sector. As he did so, he scanned the long wooden benches, searching for the scowling gaze that had accompanied the last couple of days of patrol; however, there was no such gaze and no such person that it belonged to. Simply put, there was no sign of (Y/N).
She had missed all three meals and had failed to submit her patrol report.
Legolas cleared his throat before he addressed the elves from whom he was collecting papers. âHave you seen Shadowfoot? I need her report,â he inquired.
They shook their heads, more interested in their food than one missing shadow.
Legolas sighed, but refrained from pressing further. If anyone knew her whereabouts, they would have mentioned it.
Therefore, he made his way to her quarters.
When he arrived, he knocked softly on the door, but was met with silence.
"(Y/N)," he called out, his voice carrying through the wooden barrier.
Still, there was no response.
After a momentâs hesitation, Legolas reached for the door knob and twisted it slowly. The wood swung open quietly under his touch, exposing the darkness of the room beyond. Moonlight filtered in through the opened window, casting shadows that danced across the floor, the curtains billowing gently in the cold night air.
Legolas carefully stepped through the threshold and closed the door behind him. As he took in his surroundings further, surprise crossed his features. He didn't know what he had been expecting since he hadn't been in (Y/N)âs quarters, but it most certainly was not this.
The room was a complete mess. Clothing lay strewn about, along with various trinketsâsmall hand-carved boxes, beautiful natural rocks, and melted candles absent of flame. Several stacks of books were piled beside the bed, a few of them open and their pages still. Her weapons were scattered haphazardly, some resting on the floor, others on the table or atop the dresser. Legolas even noticed a few knives embedded into the wooden doorâa sight that would surely displease Ada.
It was chaotic but calm in a sort of strange way. Typical for (Y/N), he supposed.
The Prince moved to walk further into the room, but was quickly halted against his will. His foot had gotten caught and, if it wasn't for his swift reflexes, he would have face-planted upon the stone flooring.
Legolas sucked in a sharp breath as he stabilized his form. Glancing down, he discovered the culpritâa crumpled tunic tangled around his boot, its fabric caught between the lacings.
He immediately sighed in dismay.
The blond-haired Prince reached down to untangle the stubborn garment. It proved to be a more challenging task than he had anticipated, requiring a few moments of quiet curses and annoyed grunts before he managed to free himself. Carefully, he folded the fabric and placed it upon a nearby chair.
Cautiously, he advanced to the large bed. At first, he could not spot the warrior within, given that the fluffy comforter and mountain of pillows were blocking his view. However, when he pulled back the blankets slightly, sure enough, she was buried deep within. The pillows were arranged around her like a protective nest and she was laying on her side. Her hair was splattered across the cushioned fabric and her expression wasâŠone of pain. Her brows were pulled tight, her nose crinkled, and lips slightly parted.
At this, Legolas frowned, for he was now troubled deeply.
Diligently, the Prince reached out to brush some hair from her face, but just as his fingers made contact with her cheek, his action was interrupted.
(Y/N) suddenly sat up, a knife in hand. With wild eyes, she tried to slam it into his carotid artery.
He reacted quickly, Legolas intercepted her arm, preventing the blade from reaching its target. For a moment, they both froze in that tense position, the gravity of the situation sinking in as they processed what was happening.
(Y/N) was breathing quickly and she appeared very disheveled and confused. It seemed to take her a moment longer to grasp the situation fully.
"Jukkete (fuck)," she breathed out, trying to catch her breath before snapping at him. "Legolas, I almost killed you!"
The Prince still held her wrist. â(Y/N),â he began, âAre you alright?â
She huffed. "You know better than to sneak up on me like that, Princeling!" With a sharp twist, she pulled away from his grasp and settled back into the blankets. âWhat are you doing here?â
He raised his brows. âPrinceling?â he questioned, a hint of amusement in his tone.
(Y/N) only grunted in response.
He sighed. âNo one has seen you all day andââ his sentence abruptly halted as he noticed a red stain upon the comforter. â(Y/N), you are bleeding!â He exclaimed. Without hesitation, he grasped at the blankets, in an attempt to detangle her form from them, as he continued his babbling of concern. âWhy didnât you tell me you were injured on patrol?!â
âLegolas,â she interrupted, her voice firm.
âIs it from RekĂłnâs arrow?! I thought you said he ânearlyâ hit you?â
âLegolas,â she tried again.
He yanked the blanket further.â Because I swear to the Valar if it was from him, I willââ
âLegolas! Stop!â She snapped, her patience wearing thin. âIâm not injured.â
His jaw clenched in frustration. â(Y/N), I have been a warrior for all my life, I know the site of blood. That is blood. You cannot lie to me. I am your sector leader, your Princeââ
âLegolas! Itâs my bloodmoon cycle!â she interrupted, sitting up to glare at him once more.
An awkward silence settled into the dark room.
âYou are in pain,â he stated.
âIâm fine.â
His brows raised again. âNow, why donât I believe you?â
âBecause you're a princeling ass,â she retorted.
âNo. Because for the last three days of patrol, your demeanor has been notably irritable, as you are now. You've been favoring your left side, your jaw has remained tightly clenched, and your skin a shade too pale. Not to mention, you've consistently had your hand on your hip, I'm assuming in an attempt to try and alleviate discomfort, and you even vomited behind a tree on two occasions. And, here you are, Shadowfoot, in bed, sleeping the day away in dirty clothes and not caring that you lay in blood.â He paused before finalizing his evidence. âYou are in pain.â
âYou have been spying on me?! I am supposed to be your shadow.â
âI have been keeping an eye on you,â he clarified.
âWhy?!â
The muscle in his jaw twitched. âBecause you are a member of my sector. You are my responsibility.â
âYou are my responsibility,â she corrected.
He released hot air from his nose. âI am required to keep an eye on all of my warriors, whether they were hand-picked to guard me or not.â
(Y/N) huffed, shaking her head. âDid you know Sethna took a pretty nasty hit to her leg?â
âDonât try to change the subject,â he gruffed.
âLegolas, did you know about it or not?â
A rather long moment of silence extended into the night before the Prince reluctantly responded in a low tone. âNo.â
âThen you don't watch every warrior like you watch me.â
He inhaled slowly, trying to steer the conversation away from what (Y/N) was insinuating. âIs Sethna alright?â
âYeah, sheâs fine.â
Legolas nodded slowly, before returning to the main topic. âWhy didn't you tell me you were in pain while on patrol?â
She rolled her eyes before muttering his name. âLegolas.â
âWhy haven't you seen a healer?â he persisted.
She exhaled slowly, knowing Legolas wasn't going to let this go. âBecause the healers document everything, and those records get attached to evaluations.â
âSo?â
âSo, I would be dismissed from the guard and relieved of my position!â she snapped.
He snorted lightly. âYou would not be dismissed from the guard nor relieved of your position.â
âOthers have gotten so for far less!â
Surprising her, his normally collected tone turned into a rough reply. âThat doesn't mean that you would have!â
She frowned, her once loud voice now subdued. âWhat's that supposed to mean?â
He sent her a warning look, his eyes cautioning her against probing further.
Silence reigned for a third time that night before Legolas spoke softly. âRest. I will draw you a bath.â
âPrinceling, I do not need you to draw me a bath. I do not need a bath at all. Like I said, I am fine.â
He shook his head. âYou are in pain. Let me help you.â
âLegolasââ
He cut her off. â(Y/N), do not try to argue with me on this. That is an order. Shadow or not, I am your superior and you will listen.â
With that, he stood and made his way into the bathing chambers, leaving the elleth alone with her thoughts.
She let out a slow, contemplative exhale before sinking back into the embrace of the bed once more. Lost in a haze of exhaustion, she must have drifted into a brief slumber, for it was only moments later that Legolas returned, his thumb brushing against her cheek. His voice, barely above a whisper, reached her ears. â(Y/N),â he urged softly. âCome. The water is hot. It will alleviate your pain.â
Groggily, she opened her eyes, confusion evident in the furrow of her brow.
âCome,â he repeated.
Gradually, she sat upwards, letting her legs dangle off the edge of the mattress. She squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her teeth, praying to the Valar for the pain to settle.
âIf the pain is too much, I can carry you,â Legolas offered in a gentle tone.
She scoffed, her eyes opening to glare at him. âI can manage on my own.â
With that declaration, (Y/N) stood up and took a few cautious steps forward. But before she could proceed further, a sharp gasp escaped her lips as the agony surged through her body, causing her to double over.
A comforting warmth enveloped her lower back as Legolas placed a reassuring hand there. He remained silent, respecting her pace and refraining from pressing his earlier offer.
A small whimper escaped her lips, tears threatening to escape from her eyes.
Legolasâ hand began to move in soft circles. âIt will pass, Shadowfoot. I am here,â he whispered.
Slowly, she resumed her movement, inching her way towards the bathroom. Upon reaching the basin's edge, she gripped onto the sides tightly. She squeezed her lids shut once more, focusing on her breath.
Standing only inches behind her, Legolas spoke softly. â(Y/N), please, will you let me assist you? I hate to see you suffer.â
She exhaled through her nose, seemingly debating his offer. After a moment of contemplation, she relented. âFine,â she stated, âbut if you breathe a word of thisââ
âI will not say a thing. I swear it,â he assured.
She nodded, accepting his promise.
âLet's get you undressed and in the bath then.â
With caution, his nimble fingers found the hem of her tunic and began to lift it over her head. Ensuring her stability by placing one hand gently on her hip, he then carefully guided her trousers downward, assisting her as she stepped out of them. Shaking slightly, she lifted each foot into the tub, one at a time, as the Prince's firm hand remained securely on her waist. Slowly, she lowered herself into the water, his touch barely trailing up her back as she descended. Her eyes closed and a sigh of relief escaped her lips, settling into the soothing heat of the water.
Legolas cleared his throat awkwardly. âI will just be in the other room. Call out if you need me.â
She simply hummed in response.
The Prince swiftly left the bathing room, making his way to the door leading to the hallway. Peering out, he caught sight of a maid. He called out to her and motioned for her to approach.
âYes, my lord?â she inquired politely.
âI need you to fetch a new set of bedding and obtain the following herbs: valerian, boswellia, and athelas,â he instructed.
She nodded in understanding.
âAnd please, keep it discreet. I have an injured warrior in here who wishes for the injury to remain quiet.â
The maid nodded once more before hurrying off to fulfill his requests.
Legolas returned to the room, feeling the cool breeze from the open window once more. With determined strides, he crossed the space and closed it firmly, halting the chill from entering any longer. He then took to light some of the candles, casting a warm glow within the room before moving to the empty fireplace. He quickly grabbed kindling and wood from the basket beside the silent hearth, setting to task. Before long, the flames crackled loudly among the stone, radiating a comforting warmth that dispelled the lingering chill.
It was then when the maid entered, a large basket brimming with fluffy fabric in her arms. Placing it beside the bed, she then retrieved a pouch from the top. Approaching the Prince, she bowed her head. âThe herbs you asked for, my lord.â
âThank you,â he replied, accepting them graciously.
The maid took to changing the sheets, making no mention of the blood. Legolas cleared a space upon the table in (Y/N)âs room. Placing a cast iron potâone of which was kept in each roomâover the now vibrant flames, he filled it with water from a pitcher. As the water began to boil, he used a small bowl to grind the fresh herbs into a paste with a pestle. Once sufficiently smashed, he ladled some of the boiling water over it and allowed the mixture of herbs to steep, filling the air with its earthy aroma.
The maid, having finished her task of making the bed and straightening up, bid an awkward farewell to the Prince before exiting the room.
Legolas sighed, taking a seat in the chair beside the table, his ears attuned to any sounds from (Y/N)'s directionâjust in case.
Nearly 45 minutes passed before she emerged from the bathroom. She was clothed in soft trousers and a loose top that hung off her shoulder, her hand pressed lightly against her abdomen.
âHow do you feel?â he inquired, breaking the quietness of the night.
She turned her head towards him. âYou are still here?â Her gaze swept across the room, trailing off as she took in the sight of the lit candles, crackling fire, and fresh bedding.
Abandoning the chair, he approached her and gently put his hand upon her bicep. âHow is the pain, (Y/N)?â
As if suddenly drawn from her thoughts, she registered that he was indeed beside her. âI, uh, it has lessened a bit.â
He nodded, guiding her to the bed. Pulling back the clean sheets, he motioned for her to get in. Surprisingly, she complied, settling into the comfort of the fresh lavender scent emanating from the blankets and pillows.
Legolas briefly left her side before returning with a cup of tea, mixed from the healing herbs. Sitting on the edge of the mattress, he lifted the cup to her lips, encouraging her to take a sip. âDrink this. It will help.â
The steam kissed her face as she took the cup from him. As she drank, the warm liquid flowed down her throat and into her stomach, providing instant comfort. When she finished, she passed the cup back to him. âHow do you know how to make such a tonic?â
The Prince placed the cup upon the side table. âMy father used to care for my mother during her bloodmoon cycle, before she passed from this world. She too had excruciating pain. He taught me the right herbs to mix, the benefits of heat, andââ he paused, his hand moving to her lower back, where he began to massage lightly. ââwhat points to press to alleviate pain.â
She exhaled slowly, letting her eyes flutter closed.
âHe had said, âOne day, you will have a wife who too suffers such pain. This you must learn for her.â And I listened.â
(Y/N) did not open her eyes. âI am not your wife.â
Before he could stop himself, his lips betrayed his secrets. âYou could be.â
At this, she opened one eye, as if she was trying to subtly evaluate what his words meant based on his body language. Sensing the sincerity upon his expression, her other eye opened too. She put her full attention on him. âWhat?â
His cheeks flushed, the tips of his elvish ears reddening, though the warm glow of the fire hid his embarrassment. He turned his head away. âForgive me, (Y/N). IâI didn't mean to be soâŠso forward.â He hesitated, then looked back at her, seeing her flabbergasted expression. âIâI suppose there is no hiding it now. The reason I keep such close watch over you is because my heart won't let me do otherwise. I fear, well, I fear that you are not just a shadow following my path.â He exhaled softly. â(Y/N), you haunt me in the most beautiful way.â
She shifted from the pillows, drawing closer until her face was mere inches from Legolasâ. âYouâyou care for me?â she whispered.
His hand tenderly cupped her cheek, his thumb moving in a soft motion. âMore than I could ever put into words.â
âLegolas,â she whispered. âYour father did not assign me to your sector. I was supposed to be appointed to protect him. IâI requested to be assigned to you.â
The Princeâs gaze met hers. âWhy, (Y/N)?â
âBecause you too have been haunting me.â
Legolas wasted no time. He pressed his lips to (Y/N)âs in a gentle kiss and she responded eagerly. She tasted of herbal tea and hope, while he tasted of honey and peace. His hands gently cradled her face, while hers found their way to the back of his neck, fingers entwining in his hair. The scent of fresh lavender surrounded her, mingling with the aroma of pine that clung to him. In their embrace, their minds intertwined, both haunted by the other's presenceâin the most beautiful way.
Slowly, they parted. Legolas pressed a kiss to (Y/N)'s forehead before speaking softly. "Lay down. Rest. I will watch over you."
She looked up at him. âWon't you lay with me? I am cold.â
He snorted, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his lips like the stem of a flower being plucked from a spring meadow. âYou only want me to alleviate your pain, don't you?â
She grinned back at him. âPerhaps, Princeling. Though, I did not lie, I am cold.â
With a playful roll of his eyes, Legolas kicked off his boots and drew back the covers. He allowed his body to melt against (Y/N)âs, providing warmth as he gently began to massage away her tension.
A content sigh escaped the womanâs lips as she snuggled further into him, eagerly stealing his warmth and accepting the pain relief he offered.
âPrinceling,â she murmured, âYou better not breathe a word of this either.â
He chuckled lightly, âI will not say a thing, Shadowfoot. I swear it.â

The Start of Something New- Legolas x You
a/n: ok guys, I understand, the title is cringe, but I hope that you will find the fanfic otherwise, and I don't understand why i'm doing another legolas fanfic (i'm obsessed deal with it), but here you go!
warnings: fluff
The scent of crushed herbs still clung to your fingers as you moved briskly through one of Rivendellâs winding corridors, a fresh poultice nestled carefully in your hands. A young elfling had taken a tumble in the gardens, and you were on your way to tend to their scraped knees and bruised pride.
You were not paying enough attention, and only realized this too late, when you ran into a tall figure.
You let out a soft gasp as the poultice slipped from your hands, scattering petals and torn leaves across the polished floor. You stumbled back a step, cheeks already burning.
âOh my! I- Iâm so sorry. I didnât see you,â you blurted, steadying yourself.
The elf youâd nearly knocked over bent gracefully, already helping you gather the mess with a calm you envied. When you met his gaze, the apology caught in your throat.
Oh my..
His eyes were a clear, glacial blueâstriking, but not cold. He smiled gently.
âThereâs no need to apologize,â he said, handing you a dried peony bloom. âIt seems we were both in a hurry.â
There was something easy in his voice, unbothered by the interruption. His presence felt grounded, peaceful.
âIâm Legolas.â
âY/N,â you managed, still flustered. âI serve in the healing houses here.â
âA healer,â he repeated with quiet approval. âA gift not all are given.â There was a warmth to his words, and something else behind his smile that lingered as he handed you the last of the scattered herbs.
The encounter stayed with you, lingering in your thoughts like a half-remembered melody. You saw him again over the next few daysâalways in passing, never more than a nod or a brief glance across a courtyard. But it was enough.
Then came the Council. Youâd been asked to remain nearby in case your skills were needed. Elrond deemed it necessary for you to come with the Fellowship, thanks to your talents. You entered quietly, your presence more shadow than spotlight. Yet even amid the weighty conversations, your attention caught on him. Legolas stood beside another elf who radiated command, and beside Arwen, who noticed your glance and gave you a smile that said too much without a word.
Elrond introduced the members of the Fellowship, but one name caught your attention.
âPrince Legolas Greenleaf of Mirkwood.â
Prince. HEâS A PRINCE?!Â
And youâd addressed him like an old friend.
That night, drawn by some mix of embarrassment and impulse, you found him alone in one of Rivendellâs quieter gardens, standing near a fountain where moonlight played across the water.
âLegolas,â you said gently. He turned to you, a small smile upon seeing your face.
âI wanted to apologize,â you continued. âWhen we metâI didnât realize who you were. I shouldâve been more formal.â
He tilted his head, regarding you with something like amusement. âI hope you wonât be.â
You blinked. âWhat?â
âWe were both in a rush. At that time, there was no need for formalities.â His gaze held yours for a moment longer than expected. âAnd in truth, I am not fond of always being addressed by a title.â
A silence settled between you, slightly awkward, but you wouldnât have changed it for anything. The stars hung low overhead, reflected in the stillness of the fountain. For a moment, all seemed at peace.
The next morning, you found Arwen in her favorite sunlit alcove, embroidery resting in her lap like a forgotten thought.
âSo Arwen,â you said, a smirk playing on your lips, âI saw you and Aragorn on the bridge.â
She smiled back. âOh please. Donât act like I didnât see you and the Prince last night. You do know that we can see the garden from the bridge.â
You hesitated, then asked, âWait, we? As in you and Aragorn?â
Her brows lifted in quiet mischief. âYes. He told Legolas as well.â
You opened your mouth to protest, your face a deep crimson, but she cut you off, laughter in her voice. âHowever, it was just a conversation, of course. Nothing more.â she paused. âBut if it were more⊠well. Youâll have time. After all, youâll be traveling together.â
Your heart did a traitorous, little flip.
Time. And who knows what could happen from there.
a/n: my oc's name is Liliandith Tristeli, a Sindarin elf that Legolas has been friends with since birth, and recently (I will post soon) became more ;)
warning: fluffy, descriptive, vision that some may find disturbing (idk)
Lilly drifted into a troubled sleep. Images of Merry and Pippin, their faces bright with laughter as they shared stories or teased Gimli, flickered through her mind. Then, the images twisted into nightmare. She saw them dragged away by grotesque figures, their small hands reaching out in desperation.
Suddenly, the darkness shifted. A faint light bloomed, and she saw Merry and Pippin again, not in despair, but within a vast, ancient forest. Towering trees with gnarled branches surrounded them, and though their faces still held a trace of fear, there was also a flicker of curiosity. They seemed to be talking, gesturing upwards at the immense trees. A sense of truth permeated the vision, a feeling of deep-rooted power.hf
Lilly awoke with a gasp, her heart pounding. The vision felt so real, so vivid. She sat up, the faint light of the dying embers casting long shadows across the sleeping figures of Aragorn and Gimli. Beside her, Legolas was awake, staring at her lovely face, and cuddling next to her.
âLilly? What is it?â he murmured, his hands running through her hair to comfort her.
âI⊠I had a vision,â she whispered, her voice trembling. âAbout Merry and Pippin.â
She recounted the dream, the fear, the strange forest, the sense of ancient power. Legolas listened intently, his brow furrowed in thought.
âA forest such as you describe⊠it could be the realm of the Ents, the Shepherds of the Trees,â he said slowly. âIt lies not far from the borders of Rohan.â
A spark of hope ignited within Lilly. âDo you think⊠do you think they are alive? That they are there?â
âThe vision felt⊠hopeful,â Legolas agreed, his eyes meeting hers. âIt did not carry the shadow of death. We must go. We must follow this thread.â
A look of determination hardened his features. He glanced at the sleeping forms of Aragorn and Gimli. "They have their own path to follow, the hunt for the Uruk-hai. But we are called elsewhere. We will leave before dawn."
Lilly nodded, a sense of urgency and shared purpose filling her. They would not abandon their friends. Silently, they began to gather a few essential supplies, their movements practiced and efficient. They left a brief note for Aragorn, explaining Lilly's vision and their decision to seek the hobbits towards Fangorn.
Under the cloak of the predawn darkness, Legolas and Lilly slipped away from the inn, their horses' hooves muffled on the soft earth. They rode swiftly towards the west, the image of the ancient forest guiding their way.
Their journey across the Rohirrim plains was swift, driven by the desperate hope kindled by Lillyâs vision. The vast, windswept landscape held a stark beauty, but their focus remained fixed on reaching the borders of Fangorn Forest.
They were soon intercepted by a company of Rohirrim riders, their helms glinting in the morning sun. Their leader, Ăomer, son of Ăomund, regarded them with suspicion.
âWhy would two elves be needed in Rohan?â
After a tense exchange, during which Legolas explained their urgent quest to find their lost companions who had been taken by Orcs, Ăomer listened with a grim understanding. He spoke of the Orc raid, the burning of villages, and the trail leading towards Fangorn Forest.
âFangorn,â Legolas murmured, exchanging a significant look with Lilly.
Ăomer warned them of the dangers within the ancient woods, speaking of strange noises and unsettling shadows. But Lillyâs vision had planted a seed of conviction in her heart. She knew, with a certainty that none could describe, that Merry and Pippin were there. She recalled Boromirâs death with fear in her eyes.
âLilly,â he said. âI need you to take care of the hobbits for me. They have long been in my care, and I-â
âI will, Boromir.â she replied kindly, knowing that at least he had turned out well in the end.Â
Ăomer eventually, seeing the genuine distress in their eyes, allowed them to continue towards the forest, though he offered the same grim warning about its perils. He provided them with fresh horses, recognizing the urgency of their mission.
Following the direction Ăomerâs riders had indicated, Legolas and Lilly reached the edge of Fangorn Forest. An ancient stillness hung in the air, the silence broken only by the rustling of unseen leaves. The trees were immense, their bark thick and gnarled, their branches reaching towards the sky like thin, skeletal, fingers. It was the forest of Lillyâs vision.
Deep within the woods, they heard voices, strange and resonant, like the creaking of old wood and the murmur of running water. They moved cautiously, Legolasâs keen senses guiding them through the dense undergrowth.
Then, they saw them. Merry and Pippin sat at the foot of a massive tree, talking animatedly with a towering, tree-like being â an Ent. The hobbits looked thinner, dirtier, but their eyes shone with life and a newfound understanding.
Lillyâs breath caught in her throat. Relief washed over her in a powerful wave, so intense it almost brought her to her knees. She started to run forward, Legolas close behind.
âMerry! Pippin!â she cried, her voice choked with emotion as tears streamed down her face.
The hobbits turned, their faces lighting up with pure joy. âLilly! Legolas!â they shouted in unison, scrambling to their feet and rushing towards them.
The reunion was a tangle of relieved laughter and tight embraces. Lilly held them close, feeling their small frames against her, the weight of her worry finally lifting. Legolas clapped them on the shoulder, a rare and genuine smile gracing his lips. âI was so worried, you two!â Lilly said, her voice breaking.
âWeâre alright, Lilly! So much has happened!â Pippin exclaimed, his eyes wide with the tale he was eager to tell.
Merry nodded enthusiastically. âWait until you hear about Treebeard!â
The bond between Lilly and the hobbits was clear, a testament to the care and affection Boromir had recognized. Legolas, witnessing their joy, felt a warmth spread through him, a deeper understanding of Lillyâs fierce loyalty and the depth of her compassion.
Later, as the sun began to dip below the ancient canopy, casting long shadows through the woods, Lilly sat with Merry and Pippin, listening with rapt attention as they recounted their experiences with the Ents. They were safe, they were alive, and that was all that mattered.
Before they settled down for the night, Merry and Pippin, nestled close to Lilly, exchanged a warm, brotherly hug with her, and then offered a similar, if slightly more hesitant, hug to Legolas, who returned it with a gentle smile. It was a subtle recognition of their shared struggles and the unwavering affection that bound them.
As the hobbits finally drifted off to sleep, their small faces peaceful, Lilly turned to Legolas, who sat beside her, watching over them with a gentle gaze. She leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder.Â
âThank you. For everything.â She said softly.
âAlways, meleth nĂźn.âÂ
He turned his head and met her lips in a kiss that sent a tremor down her body as he moved his hand to her waist. His mouth moved over hers slowly, and lingered for a while even after the kiss was over, the taste of his lips still staying on hers as he held her to his chest.
"I love you" he said, pulling a strand of hair behind her ear,
"I love you too."
meleth nĂźn- my love (sindarin)
a/n: Oh my goodness, I loveeee Legolas, and I think that this is an incredible story.
warning: ever so fluffy.
The biting wind of the Rohirrim plains whipped at Y/Nâs cloak, and she shivered, pulling it tighter. The company had finally reached a small, remote inn, a welcome respite from the long days of travel. Inside, the warm glow of the hearth promised comfort, but a nagging unease settled in her stomach.
Gimli, with an almost unnerving enthusiasm, clapped her on the shoulder. âCome, lass! Time for a warm bed and a tankard of ale!â
Y/N smiled weakly, following him to the innkeeper. The innkeeper, a stout man with a weary face, looked apologetic. âOnly one room left, Iâm afraid. A busy night, it seems.â
Y/Nâs eyes widened. She glanced at Legolas, who stood beside her, his expression serene as always. âSurely thereâsâŠâ
âAye, only one,â Gimli interrupted, his eyes twinkling. âUnless one of you prefers the floor?â
Neither wanted to impose, so they decided to share. Y/N felt a blush creep up her neck as she followed Legolas to the small, dimly lit room. The single bed, though cozy, seemed impossibly small. However, although it was small, it seemed to be calling Y/N's name, her tiredness nearly overtaking the awkwardness of sharing it with the Prince of Mirkwood.
âI⊠I can sleep on the edge,â Y/N offered, her voice barely a whisper.
Legolas shook his head. âNo, no. It's alright. We'll just maintain our distances." he said shyly.
They settled into the bed, back to back, a chasm of awkwardness between them. Y/N closed her eyes, trying to ignore the warmth radiating from Legolasâs body beside her. Sleep, however, was elusive.
Y/N soon fell into a deep sleep. To her surprise, whenever she awake, she found herself faced towards Legolas, his leg wrapped around her, and her head snuggled into his chest.
Before she could react, the door burst open, and a cacophony of voices filled the room. Gimliâs booming laughter echoed through the small space, followed by the amused chuckles of Merry and Pippin.
âWell, well, well! Look what we have here!â Gimli roared, his eyes wide with mischief.
Y/N and Legolas jumped apart, their faces flushed crimson. âI-I, um, we, this is not at all what it looks like." Y/N stammered, her voice trembling.
Legolas, equally flustered, simply stared at the floor. âY/N, I am so sorry, I must have turned in my sleep."
The hobbits exchanged knowing glances, their smiles widening. Gimli patted Legolas on the back, his laughter subsiding into a low chuckle. âAye, of course, lad. âturned in your sleep.â Right.â
The rest of the day passed in a haze of embarrassment. Y/N avoided Legolasâs gaze, her cheeks burning with every glance from the hobbits. As evening fell, she sought solace by the tranquil lake outside the inn. The moon cast a silvery glow across the water, and the gentle lapping of the waves soothed her troubled mind.
âY/N?â
She turned to see Legolas standing behind her, his eyes filled with a gentle warmth.
âI⊠I apologize for this morning,â she said, her voice barely audible.
Legolas stepped closer, his gaze unwavering. âThere is no need." he said smirking, causing Y/N's heart to flip.
"It- it felt natural. With you." she said, her face flushed.
Legolasâs breath hitched. He reached out, his fingers gently tracing the line of her jaw. âPerhaps it was.â
He pulled her into a passionate kiss, everything else fading. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and his hands went to her waist. After they parted, the moment still lingering, Legolas, stared into her eyes.
"Nni melin thou, aewen nĂn." Legolas said softly.
Elvish to English
Nni melin thou, aewen nĂn- I adore you, my love
