Liang X Male Reader
Male Name- (M/N)
Liang had a look of curiosity and admiration as he watched the person wait in line. They were standing in line, patiently waiting to receive their food from the cafeteria of building 5.
Liang was watching this person so intently that he had not noticed that his friends were giving him a strange look. They had even called out to the boy but had gotten nowhere, he was to enthralled in his own little world and at staring at that person that he was ignoring his friends.
“You know that if you keep staring at him with that much intensity, you’ll burn holes into his skull.” A monotone voice stated in front of him, snapping Liang from his starring. To instead move his gaze to the small, qigong user, Upa, and the ‘trash’, Qi.
“I’m not staring at him,” Liang denied,”I’m trying to look at the menu and he just so happens to be in front of the board.” Liang lied but it was obvious to his friends that he was. How did they know? That was because their friend was too obvious with his feelings.
“If you were only looking at the menu, then why are you blushing?” Qi spoke this time with a teasing tone and smile. This causes the male in question to grow a shade darker as Upa nodded his head in agreement to Qi’s statement. Liang knew that he couldn’t keep it a secret from his friends so he sighed in defeat.
He couldn’t keep his feelings to himself, especially when someone as incredible as you had captured his attention and possibly his heart. What did you do exactly that made him grow interested in you?
To be completely honest, Liang hadn’t thought much about you because you were the new inmate and he believed that you would be weak, due to your attitude. He thought that someone as chipper as you could never be a good fighter, he didn’t even believe that you could be a criminal because of how positive and happy your attitude was, especially for someone who was in the world’s best prison. But you pleasantly surprised him after he saw you fight.
You had asked Samon to a fight after arriving a couple of days beforehand and he had, surprisingly, agreed to it without much begging because he wanted to test your strength, to see if you were worthy to be in building 5. You were so excited to fight him that you wear the biggest grin that anyone has ever seen, this was also the grin that caught Liang’s attention and curiosity. The moment that Liang saw you fight, was the moment that you captured his heart.
Before the match between you and the supervisor had begun, Liang had walked up to you to give you a warning.
****Flashback to before the match earlier that day****
You were stretching your legs as if you were getting ready for a marathon with a content and happy look on your face when a shadow was casted over your body causing you to look up with confusion. There was a male looking down upon you, he had a black Chinese-style suit, green fabric-looking earrings, long black hair tied in a neat braid, magenta colored eyes, nails and three dots in the form of a line going down his forehead.
“You shouldn’t let your guard down around our supervisor,” Liang suggested with a straight face and tone before continuing, “You’ll regret it, he is incredibly strong.” Liang had expected a more… serious reaction to the one he received.
“Ah, you’re one of the guys whose cell is right across from mine!” You exclaimed standing up, surprising Liang, with an even bigger smile, if that was even possible, before continuing, “I haven’t had the chance of meeting you yet. My name is (M/N), what’s yours?”
“L-Liang” He stuttered out of surprise. Not only did this person seem not to care if they get the living spirit beaten out of them but they were too happy about it too.
“Well, Liang I hope we can be great friends as we live out our sentences here!” You had happily said with a wide smile, once again startling him, before being called over by the supervisor, “Oh, I have to go but I hope we can hang out later at the mess hall and then I can meet the rest of your cellmates.” You waved off before leaving to stand across from the supervisor, leaving him standing there to figure out what had just occurred. Did he just meet a more energetic version of Nico?
He snapped out of his daze a couple of seconds later to watch the fight in the cause he had to step in so that Samon didn’t beat the inmate to a bloody pulp because he believed that the new inmate wouldn’t be able to handle himself.
‘He’s asking for a death wish’ Liang thought as the match was about to start, ‘Someone that happy can’t possibly be strong’
How wrong he was after the fight had ended. He had his jaw practically on the floor from shock, he didn’t have to step in at all and, in fact, if he had, he would have been killed. The match between the two males was very intense, with neither of them allowing the other a chance to breathe, and what astonished Liang the most was what you were doing. You were smiling throughout the match, not in a menacing, threatening, or smug way but in a happy tone, as if you weren’t afraid to be beaten or killed. The match had ended in a tie and Samon concluding that you were worthy of being in building 5, causing your smile to widen further.
After the fight, you had started to walk towards Liang to speak to him some more before you were pulled back by the supervisor. He was taking you to see doctor Otogi before telling the other guards to take the inmates to the mess hall. You quickly shot Liang an apologetic smile before following Samon to the medical wing of Nanba to check for injuries, leaving the boy to stare with a warm face at the smile that you had directed at him
****Present Time****
“Okay, you got me, ” Liang groaned in annoyance after he was caught, “I guess I was kind of staring at him… But only because I was curious about how a person as happy as him can fight with such intensity and still keep a smile on their face.” Liang added quickly as his friends gave him a knowing smirk, knowing the actual reason for their friend’s stare.
“Hey, Liang!” You exclaimed cheerfully as you were walking towards his table, causing him to panic. When you had finally reached their table, you asked if it was alright for you to sit with them. Liang was at a loss for words due to your sudden appearance that his friends had to step in for him and they allowed you to sit with them, this, in turn, stretching your smile even wider on your face. These people were so nice that they let you sit next to them, a complete stranger.
After all the formalities were dealt with, you had started a nice conversation with them, mostly with Qi because the other two were very quiet.
“Ah, you’re a pharmaceutical chemist!” You exclaimed with stars in your eyes from the newly received information, “I wish I was something that cool before coming to Nanba!”
Qi laughed at your excitement, “It’s really not that cool. What were you before you came to Nanba?”
At this question, your smile wavered a tad bit but it was extremely noticeable to everyone in the table, this whole time your smile had been as big as a piece of watermelon until that question came up. You put your head down, in an ashamed kind of way, and your smile was a tiny sad one, it was as if you were a completely different person. Upa muttered a ‘trash’ in a harsh tone towards Qi, Qi was frantically trying to correct his mistake, while Liang looked at (M/N) with concern and then at Qi with a harsh glare, making said male flinch.
“It’s okay,” Your voice suddenly interrupted Qi as you looked up with the same sad, tiny smile, “Before I came to Nanba I was the son of the most infamous mafia boss in Italy.”
They looked at you with shock written all over their faces. How are you related to him, the world’s most wanted mafia boss.
Sensing their confusion you decided to answered their question, “My mother loved defying my grandparent’s orders so she thought that dating a mafia boss would be a good way of defying them but,” You paused for a second before continuing, “what she didn’t account for was that she was going to have me and that she would be killed a year later after having me because my father was sick of her.” You finished with a hint of bitterness.
“Wait, if you’re the son of a mafia boss then why are you so chipper all the time?” Qi asked even if he got dirty looks from his friends, he was curious and his friends were as well.
“Well, I think that’s because I spent a lot of time with my grandparents.” You stated with a bigger smile than before, “They were so kind to me but I had to lie to them about who I was. I couldn’t just tell them that I’m the reason their daughter is dead or that I’m related to the man who killed her.”
After that, the atmosphere was heavy and dense over the inmates, except for (M/N). Sensing this (M/N) tried lightening the mood the only way he could, by acting silly. He cleared his throat catching the attention of the others before putting his plan into action. He put his head down once again, took a deep breath, and then quickly brought his head up while wearing a face that most people would call derpy. This sudden appearance caught the inmates off guard but had the effect that the male was looking for. Liang was snickering, Qi was laughing, and Upa had a smirk on his face at the fact that you had pulled such a face, effectively lifting the mood around the table.
You continued to do this as they enjoyed your act, well almost all of them were. Liang had, after the first face you pulled, was watching you with a blush on his checks.
‘Wow, he is incredible,’ Liang thought, before another thought popped into his mind, making him blush more and smile, ‘I think I’m in love with the son of the most wanted mafia boss in the world.’
