a song demo.
this is the first time i've written a song with a tempo change in the middle--i was trying to channel the beatles admittedly. because i can't seem to write anything that isn't somewhat niche and bizarre, this one is a love song featuring characters from a cult puzzle game series.
lyrics under the cut:
there's a small detective boutique run on daddy's reputation heart and gut investigations lacking any protocol
and i think i've been afflicted with a subtle fascination though i call it aggravation for the girl behind it all
and a little lilting voice i've made my choice i'll still my mind
i can't be earnest but i'll be perfect filed in the pleatings of your brain lady layton i'll stand here waiting loving you like reason down the drain
i could resist but i'm so plain
watching sugared cinematics and the truth behind the strangeness and my quiet adoration meaning nothing after all
it's a puzzle to unwind your unkempt mind i'm losing mine
CHORUS
i could resist but i'm so plain i'm so plain i'm so plain i'm so plain
