MY JEANS TORE RIGHT BELOW THE CROTCH MID-MARCHING BAND GIG. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.
Now I have to go home and change jeans with the knowledge that I considered wearing my brand new jeans today before ultimately deciding not to because my old ones would be fine.
It’s probably a mix of having practiced it a million times before, the anonymity of being in a large group of people who are all wearing the same thing, and knowing that your fellow band people have your back.
Idk what it is about marching band that takes away my anxiety. Like, I’ll be terrified to do anything in front of any amount of people. But halftime shows? Concerts? Why does my anxiety not mind them but then make me too nervous to read in class???
Bite me!!!!!!!
How do I answer all three depending on the day
Okay fair I am very competitive and I do theater which is like band in that it might as well be three extracurriculars at once.
In my band the competitive section is the clarinets though
hey y’all take my marching band uquiz
Our first football game was an away game and the stand were far too small for us and I realized that the reason was that the school was expecting a marching band that was a similar size to them which looked like 30-40 people.
We have over 70 people.
I love it when two marching bands have the same stand tune and they start playing it faster or louder as a challenge to the other band
Muster :)
If you have ever done marching band you are now legally allowed to say you attended Camp Jupiter
My woodwind captain is very similar and her nickname last year was dizzy because she kept having to sit out so please take care of your body
I've eaten half a thing of altoids today and my body is saying no, but the little Mint Gremlin inside craves the crunchy little mint chunks
They're so yummy
There was a solo for alto sax in our marching band piece and none of the saxes had looked at it before camp (I had but it was for someone playing alto on the field and I’m on clarinet), but when we played through the beginning of the part where the solo would be I naturally played it because why not no one else was going to that time. Then our band director realized I had looked at it and decided to make it available for audition to any instrument.
One of the other clarinets and one of the altos tried out too (the other clarinet worked on it over the summer as well). I don’t know who’ll have the solo yet but I’m just glad I’m the reason it was even an audition.
if i actually practiced, guys
Not mine, but sharing to get op the help they want
