Winter's Love
Artfight of my muse and @rockwell-light 's!
Excited to present our first proper comic project! Permafrost is a short story that takes place in our fantasy universe. It’s a myth associated with the deity of winter in our setting, and will be told only through narration as many myths often are. We’ll be updating bi-monthly until we’ve finished illustrating all chapters, at which point we’ll do monthly updates <3
Read it on Tapas here!
If Tapas isn’t your thing, you can also check it out on webtoon!
My last art fight piece this year was naturally another revenge for @hellscythearts <3 I didn’t get the chance to finish it before the event ended, so here’s the flat version!
I really like this drawing a lot though, and I’m definitely going to finish shading and polishing it at my own pace now that the event is over <3
Art Fight revenge once again for @hellscythearts / @the-hellscythe-cat ! She designed outfits for my boy, so I designed an alternate form for hers >0
Here is one of my favorite designs ever!! I love everything about this dude lol–
Morozko is the ancient deity of Winter, one with many names; Winter, Jack Frost, Jeg Atya, Morana, Mor… the list goes on. (I commonly use the first due to its using of the M,Z, which was the name of the original OC that this was– originally an AU of– long story. XD)
As a deity, he is commonly seen as the less-human creature to the left, wandering the frozen forests and icy landscapes of the earth. There, in the cold, the bridge between life and death, he roams, spreading the dangerous beauty of Winter. In this form, he can only be seen by other-folk and fae, and certain humans who have the Sight.
Humans that die in the forests, whether freezing to death or being murdered, leave malicious souls and malevolent negative energy. Mor seeks them out, and devours them. While he frequently chooses to leave those that wander in his frost alone, there are the rare individuals, like @super-tired-robot‘s Raziel that draw his attention, and sometimes he leads them out of his cold to prevent them from succumbing to the ice. There are others he purely spirits away, and turns into either ice-creatures or the gems upon his person– these too are rare circumstances.
Sometimes he, like other fae and other-folk, likes to wander the human world and interact with the mortals like one of their own. His disguise is far from perfect, as there are some things that are impossible to hide, though it is easy to say he is a foreigner, or of inhuman descent. His appearance changes typically to the times of the world around him. Still, there is… a sort of cold breeze that follows him regardless. Most would know better than to interact with him.
Mor can only travel during ‘Winter,’ as ‘Summer’ isn’t his season, and it is tiring to keep up his frost when the heat prevents him from creating it.
