If you asked Alastor, he'd say he was fine. That was the easiest answer. The answer that kept others from worrying about him. That didn't make it the truth.
The truth was he'd been broken for a long time, and an eroded pillar could only stand for so long without inevitably collapsing.

I was watching tiktoks and saw one (1) edit with the song "Forwards Beckon Rebound" and this idea immediately put a gun to my head and forced me to write it at 2 AM with no planning. READ THE TAGS, HOLY SHIT. This is the darkest shit I've ever written, I'm not playing
After Alastor's last panic attack, Angel's been keeping a close eye on the Radio Demon. Unfortunately from what he can tell, the overlord hasn't been doing too hot since the extermination, and it's only a matter of time before everything boils to the surface.
OR
An idea from @TeddyLockwood in the comments of the last one in this series, where Alastor is coping with his injuries from the battle. I couldn't say no to another opportunity to write Alastor whump with Therapy Pig Fat Nuggets lol
This was requested by @scourge33 on tumblr, who said, "My request/idea would be a tickle fic with Al and Vox, Al being the lee? But not necessarily enemy torture mode. More as a nostalgic memory of their previous friendship. Or it takes place before they become enemies."
Ask and you shall receive my good fellow
I like to think that their relationship pre-fight was really sweet despite the constant bickering they would probably do lol, so I definitely tried to include that, and the result is this fluffy, violently adorable piece
This is a platonic SFW tickle fic, if that doesn't suit your tastes, then kindly keep scrolling
Alright guys, guess it's my turn to provide the lee!Alastor content since everyone else has these past few weeks. This is a part two to "Consequences" (if you haven't read that, you should, it's in the same series as this one if you want to read it)
I keep ricocheting between qpr radioapple and parent-child bonding between Lucifer and Alastor because my daddy issues demand that I project on Alastor, and Lucifer - an arguably okay father - is right there I just want Alastor to feel safe and protected and cared for, is that too much to ask???
Anyways, hope you all enjoy, let me know what you think!!
Here's chapter 2 my little squidlings, feast, for I have attempted to provide a bountiful harvest
Pspsps RA fans, come get your content!!!
I found is two part one-shot collection in my WIPs and decided to stop holding them hostage as they've been there for months. I'll post the second one in the next few minutes, and I'll probably add to this in the future, but I have to wait for inspiration to attack, so it might be a while. Figured I'd just put these out while I was thinking about it.
Hope you guys enjoy!
ALSO, TW for discussion of child abuse (I mean, it's angst/hurt/comfort about Halt, so it's kind of a given at this point)
I love therapy animals, and I show this by giving one to all of my blorbos - because they desperately need them.
This is a (kind of??? QPRs make it confusing) platonic tickle fic, if it's not your cup of tea, just keep scrolling
Just some casual affectionate fluff featuring lee!Alastor and ler!Lucifer to sooth the souls of the people who read my last two fics which were pure unapologetic angst
I was inspired by @greykolla-art to write even more angst! Yay, don't you just love pain? This is inspired by one of their awesome comics (the link is in the fic notes)
HA, you though that just because the last thing I posted was fluff, that I'd ease off the angst train??? Well April Fools bitches, I'm back with even more angst than before!!!!!
Here's the Ao3 link
TW for some serious acephobia (internalized and otherwise) and references to conversion therapy. Also a bit of self-harm at the end, because Alastor has trichotillomania in canon (as seen during his meltdown). If you want to avoid that, it starts at "Crimson claws" and ends at "tears". It's just one sentence, so you won't miss much. There is also a brief non-con kiss. I just wanted to vent the aroace pain from close friends confessing romantic feelings, and I almost made myself cry at work, so fun times
(PS: this does not mean I think ships with Alastor are not valid. I myself am in a happy long-term relationship. Asexuality and Aromanticism are part of a spectrum which means there are many ways for it to be interpreted by those who identify with the terms. There are a few ships with Alastor that I love, but the people writing them have to be careful to consider his identity while doing so)
ANYWAYS, I'll stop rambling now and let you read the fic
An evening spent with Vox was always guaranteed to be interesting. That was part of what had drawn Alastor to him in the first place after all, the Radio Demon forever seeking entertainment. However, after twenty years of friendship even Alastor could admit he was no longer in it for the entertainment factor. Even through his lifetime of severe emotional repression, Alastor was smart enough to see that he had grown to genuinely care about the TV demon - which had led to quite the emotional meltdown on his part, embarrassingly enough.
All of that was besides the point. The point was that even though they were just having dinner in Vox’s apartment as they did at least once a week, things still had yet to become dull, which was quite the accomplishment for someone whose attention was as flighty as Alastor’s.
As Vox rambled about this new guy he had met - Mateo? Stephano? No, that wasn’t it - Valentino! As Vox rambled about this Valentino character, Alastor mused on the relationship he had with the TV demon. The red-head had never had a positive relationship with another man before, besides Husker of course. That hardly counted though, considering he owned the former overlord’s soul. Vox was truly a novelty.
“Hey, Alastor?” The deer demon was pulled from his thoughts by his friend’s slightly hesitant tone. He focused back in on Vox’s face, and was a bit confused by the way Vox’s gaze was darting around the room. It looked like he wanted to look at Alastor but was too flustered to do so, a slight red glow lighting up the lower portion of his screen where his cheeks would be.
“What is it?” Alastor asked, slightly wary of the strange atmosphere that had filled the air around the couch they had chosen to share. His ears pinning back was the only outward sign of his unease.
Vox finally seemed to get over whatever was keeping him from making eye contact, but Alastor couldn’t help but wish he hadn’t. He didn’t know how to process the unbearably soft way the other was looking at him. His stomach lurched unpleasantly, as though he had missed a stair.
Vox reached over and gently took Alastor’s hands in his own, and Alastor suddenly found himself wishing he hadn’t set his plate on the coffee table - it would have given him an excuse to avoid this soft contact that felt far too intimate, even with their long-term friendship.
“I’ve wanted to tell you this for a while, but it never felt like the right time.” Vox shifted one hand so that it gently cradled Alastor’s cheek, and as he continued, Alastor’s smile shrunk to the smallest it had been since he had been forced to maintain it - unable to turn downwards, but begging to reflect the dread blooming in his chest.
“But, I’m tired of waiting for ‘the right time’. So, I’m just gonna come out and say it.”
“Vox…please,” Alastor begged, voice refusing to rise above a whisper, and static mangling his words. Internally, he was screaming, begging on his knees for Vox to stop before he said something he couldn’t take back. Vox either didn’t hear him or didn’t understand what he meant, because the TV demon continued forward.
“I love you, Alastor. I have for a long time, and I want to spend the rest of my afterlife loving you. We’ve been friends for such a long time, and I want to move to the next step in our relationship.” Vox was positively beaming, warm love and sincere affection in his eyes as he peered deep into Alastor’s soul - unable to see the pain he had wrought with those three words.
Alastor was crushed. His throat closed up and it felt like a clawed fist had clenched around his chest, his heart aching and lungs unable to draw breath. He tried to choke words past his constricted throat, but couldn’t force anything out. His brows lowered as his scarlet eyes widened, burning with hurt and shock.
Vox’s own brows furrowed in concern at Alastor’s silence. “Alastor?”
Alastor could barely hear him over his rushing thoughts. He felt so…used. How long had their friendship been based around Vox’s desire to get into his pants? What parts of their relationship had been genuine friendship rather than a furthering of Vox’s goals for a romantic partner? Was this Alastor’s fault? Had he done something to encourage this?
The worst part was the guilt. Alastor couldn’t say it about very many people, either in the living world or in Hell, but he truly loved Vox. He loved him as he loved Rosie, and he saw the other demon as the brother he’d never had in life, but that was the problem. He could never give Vox what he wanted. Alastor knew he was broken - the doctors had confirmed as much while he was alive, and the medications and more aggressive treatments he had received for his dysfunction had never worked as intended.
Vox deserved so much better.
His eyes burned and his stomach clenched with nausea, and Alastor fought back tears that hadn’t fallen since his mother’s passing. Alastor wanted to love Vox that way, if only to spare his feelings, but he just couldn’t.
Vox leaned forward, taking Alastor’s silence as a positive answer, and as he guided Alastor’s face in for a gentle kiss, the deer demon panicked. He lurched back as their lips connected, accidentally throwing himself off the couch to lay in a crumpled heap on the floor.
Vox looked startled as he took in Alastor’s panicked expression, and made to stand as Alastor scrambled to his feet.
“Alastor, what - ?” he started, reaching for the shorter demon’s hand. Alastor jerked back as though he’d been burned.
“Don’t,” he hissed defensively, clutching his hands to his chest like he was afraid to be within touching distance of the other demon. “Don’t touch me!”
Vox looked crushed. Alastor felt as though a spear had stabbed through his heart: he caused that expression on Vox’s face.
“I won’t - I can’t - !” Alastor growled in pain and frustration, unable to articulate his thoughts. He tried to think of something, anything that could salvage their relationship before things got out of hand, but the rage growing in Vox’s expression burned that possibility into mere ashes. The anger masked the hurt that had been there previously.
“Are you kidding me?!” Vox didn’t quite shout, but to Alastor, he might as well have screamed through a megaphone. The deer demon took two steps back for every advance Vox made, feeling uncharacteristically like prey. He was used to having control over every interaction, but this had quickly spiraled into something monstrous.
“Twenty years of friendship all for you to get pissed when I say I want to progress things like a normal person would?! I waited, wanting you to be comfortable because I know you need time to adjust to people, but you still don’t care about me enough to even consider it?! If you never wanted me, why did you lead me on? Why did you pretend to enjoy my company if you knew you would reject me? Is my pain really that funny to you? Fuck, Alastor - can’t you see how hard I’m trying?” Vox had backed Alastor into a corner, and the deer demon was reminded violently of his youth - long hours spent cowering beneath someone who wanted nothing more than to make Alastor wish he was never born.
Alastor hadn’t felt this small since he had made his deal, and he had never assumed he would feel that way around Vox. The Radio Demon was so overwhelmed with emotion, that he did the one thing he had promised himself he would never do again.
He ran.
As Alastor fled into his shadows, he felt Vox’s arms try to wrap around him and prevent his escape, and heard the TV demon’s frustrated and agonized cry as he slipped under the door. He didn’t stop until he reached his radio tower, and reverted back to his more solid form once he was safely inside.
Alastor backed away from the door until his back hit the wall, and he slowly slid down it until he was sitting on the floor with his knees curled to his chest. A soft, staticky whimper forced its way past his lips before he could silence it, and the tears he’d been fighting finally burned fiery tracks down his cheeks. Alastor’s breath hitched, and he buried his face in his knees, wrapping his arms around his head and legs in a futile attempt to muffle the choked hiccups.
Sobs tore out of his throat from a place deep within his chest, wracking his whole body with the force of them. Stitches pulled at the corners of his mouth, forcing him to grin through his tears, and he had never wished so strongly for the ability to stop smiling. Crimson claws fisted in his hair, scratching at his scalp in his panic and sending small rivulets of blood down his face to merge with the tears.
Alastor had just destroyed one of his closest relationships because he was so broken that he couldn’t even reciprocate affection normally. It was all his fault, and the guilt tore at him in ways he hadn’t felt in decades.
Drowning in grief for the bridge he’d set ablaze, Alastor couldn’t stop thinking about how - outside of his treatment plans - Vox had stolen his first kiss.
This is a platonic SFW tickle fic, and if that isn't your cup of tea, kindly keep scrolling.
TW: it does get kind of intense but that's because Alastor is an idiot (lovingly) who doesn't know how to shut tf up, and Lucifer is a petty bastard who has been banned from completely disintegrating this deer twink.
Me??? Projecting on Optimus Prime????? Blasphemy. Could never happen, you're being ridiculous. More likely than you'd think.
Chapter 3 is here!
Zane's POV
I ran out of the monastery as fast as I could. "God, God, God! Why, why me?! Why! Why did he do that?!"
I ran off my head. But where did I go? Honestly, I do not know…
I ran almost the entire city and stopped just in front of the forest, the snow-covered, cold forest.
“God, I don’t want to see anyone! Especially him ... But where should I go? They will find me in my old house right away. To Skylor in the restaurant? No, no, no, they will also look there. But then where should I go?”
I looked at the forest.
"Hmm... maybe here? There won't be looking for me here"
With these thoughts, I ran into the forest...
End Zane's POV
* * *
Ninjas for the umpteenth time make another round of the whole Ninjago to find the escaped nindroid, but all for nothing. He just disappeared. No matter how they asked passersby, no one could give an exact answer. They looked at every possible place where Zane could have gone, but he wasn't there... He wasn't anywhere...
And now, pretty tired, they came to Skylor's restaurant. She wasn't happy to see Kai, but she couldn't drive her friends out.
After she found out what happened, she couldn't remain silent:
- Why am I not surprised? - said she, with a certain note of contempt. - At first, you quarreled with me, then shouted at Zane, for the fact that he wanted to put something in your head about the right relationship - continued she.
Kai just listened with his head down. He didn't want to argue with her, because he knew that she was right. But he did not want this to happen! He... he just... Uh... offended a friend who just wanted to help.
- Listen, Sky...- Kai decided to use the advice that Zane gave him. - I was thinking about what happened... - It was really hard for him to talk after all - And I decided that I really overdid it... I quarreled with you, offended Zane, Uh... I'm a horrible boyfriend and a terrible friend. A-and I really was wrong... - Smith was very ashamed - Heh, Zane really was right - here hysterical is me, not you. - on the last words, Kai looked straight at Skylor, who was looking at him with surprise and... regret?
- Forgive me. - this is all that could squeeze out of himself Kai, under such a look.
- Uh, and you forgive me. I should not have to pick on you.- Skylor was already smiling. Kai just smiled back.
They approached each other and embraced. These were long-awaited hugs, but someone broke this lovely atmosphere:
- Ahem! - it was Cole - I certainly don’t want to interrupt your reunion... - he made a pause - But we need to look for our nindroid since because of one idiot he ran away!
- I already apologized... - plaintively stretched Kai.
- You will apologize to Zane, not to us!
- Wait for me! I'll go with you. - said Skylor
They were ready to go in search again, when suddenly...
Breaking News!
If you are at home - do not go out! If you're on the street - run home faster! Snow cyclone "Amaya" is coming on Ninjago City. Such cyclones move very slowly and like to “freeze” in place. And, unfortunately, one of these “freezing points” is our Ninjago City! Therefore, going somewhere can be a deadly risk!
- Oh, you're fucking kidding me! - this phrase Cole described the entire current situation.
- What we're going to do? - Jay panicked.
Suddenly Lloyd's phone started ringing.
- Hello? Yes... y-yes... ok, mom... - as it turned out, it was Misako. - Mom told us to go back to the monastery...
- What!? - they said it all in one voice
- B-but what about Zane? - Cole asked.
- This is Sensei Wu's order... - said Lloyd, with certain hopelessness in his voice - We will postpone the search until the risk of death does not pass...
- B-but... - Kai got scared. Zane escaped because of him, and now because of this storm, he can get injured.
- Kai, don't worry, - Skylor put her hand on his shoulder - he will be fine. This is his element.
- And if we want to help Zane we need to stick together. - Lloyd added - Could we help him if we get lost in this storm?
Kai only sighed heavily and nodded his head.
* * *
Zane was still running through the forest, not knowing how far he had run. A strong and cold wind began to blow.
"Huh... it gets colder" flashed through our nindroid's head. But, it seems he didn't think to stop.
Zane ran into the thicket of the forest. He was completely in his thoughts when suddenly...
Zane's POV
- Watch out! - I heard a voice behind.
"W-what?! How did they find me so fast?! No, no, no, no, NO! I don't want to... Please leave me alone!"
I accelerated the pace of running.
End Zane's POV
When Zane heard the voice behind, he began to run faster completely unable to see where he was running. The blond decided it was his friends who came to take him home.
???'s POV
"God, where is he running so fast? Anyway, what is HE doing here? Now everyone should hide in their houses! Wait... Why am I running after him?"
End ???'s POV
- No! Wait! - again this voice behind.
Zane turned to look at the pursuer. He managed to see only a dark figure.
He saw it before fell off the cliff. He didn't see it. Under the cliff turned a lake, frozen lake. The height was sufficient to break the ice, and he did it - had fallen, he broke the ice under him, thereby being in the grip of his element.
Head hit on the ice did not pass without consequences - Zane began to lose consciousness, and the last thing he could see with a blurred look was the dark figure in front of him that seemed to him... familiar?
God... That was hard... I hope I did not make any mistakes... hope...
In Ninjago City reigns an atmosphere of calm. There are no more villains here. Pirate ships do not fly in the sky, and giant monsters aren't destroying the buildings. So our ninjas can live peacefully in silence, sometimes catching petty criminals.
And in one of those quiet days, our ninjas go about their business. Jay and Cole play video games, Nia is on Instagram, Lloyd is meditating, Zane is reading a book, and our master of fire went on a date with Skylor.
And everything seems to be so quiet and good, but one brown-eyed guy is disturbing this peaceful environment breaking into a house.
- How stupid and hysterical she is! - shouts a fire master at the top of his voice. All, naturally, broke away from their affairs and began to ask about this in more detail.
- Wh-who stupid and hysterical? - Jay started first. It seems he got a heart attack from Kai's sudden appearance.
- Who-who!? Skylor! - Kai screamed loudly.
- In what sense? - Cole asks, being in no less confused, like the others.
- In the literal sense! - Kai is clearly angry.
- Wait-wait-wait! let's more in detail. – said Lloyd, trying to calm the red ninja.
- What in more detail?! That is wrong for her, this is wrong for her! Do you, girls, have something that isn’t wrong for you!?
- He really did not want to calm down. - Hey! - Nia obviously did not like the words of her brother. But he didn’t even pay attention to her and continued to resent.
- "Why do you look at all the other girls except me?", “You never look at me like on the other girls!” - quoted Kai. - Now let her bother someone else!
“Did you tell her that?” – Zane finally cast his vote.
- Well said, and what? – answered Kai.
-- Well, I think it is rude somehow… - Zane began. - In a relationship, you need to show initiative and patience with your partner, and not yell at him like that. All tensed up a little and moved away from those two. It was obvious that Kai began to boil. - and it seems to me that the hysterical is YOU here, not Skylor.
- Oh really. - Smith extended. - Well, yes, exactly. How could I forget! You our know-all guy, who never make mistakes. - Kai came close to Zane with unfeigned fury on his face. But not me have no relationship with Pix. And not me ruined it! - Kai looked straight into Zane’s eyes. He is about 2 centimeters above the nindroid, so he looked down on him.
The titanium nindroid visibly tensed up after these words.
- Kai, please stop… - Lloyd tried to calm the brown-haired ninja, but it was useless. Kai just missed his words.
- I just wanted to give you advice. - Julien said it quietly. Kai’s words hurt him. You had to... - Zane didn’t have time to finish, because Kai interrupted him very rudely. He began to scream and no longer understood what he was saying.
- SHUT UP! – shouted Kai! He lost his temper. - What can you understand in relationship, in love!? You just a machine! - after these words all the ninja froze. Everybody in this room knew that this quarrel would go far, but not SO far…
- Just a machine? – his voice trembled. Zane uttered it incredibly plaintively. It seems that Kai understood which mistake he just made.
- Zane, he didn't want to say that!” – Nia tried to justify her brother.
- Y-yes! Zane, p-please forgive me. I-i… - Kai couldn’t finish.
- I understood… - Zane said it as quickly as he could and headed for the front door.
- Z-Zane, please forgive me… - Kai want to grab his friend by the shoulder but Zane jerked his hand away and suddenly, even for myself, started screaming at the red ninja:
- DON’T TOUCH ME! - Kai's eyes widened. Nobody expected this from Zane… definitely not from Zane… - YES! YES, I’M A NINDROID! Y-YES I’M A MACHINE! BUT DID I CHOOSE, WHO I’M SUPPOSED TO BE?! – Zane almost cried. It was like a scream through tears. - DO YOU THINK IT’S EASY FOR ME TO BE LIKE THAT! NO! NO THAT IS NOT EASY! EVERY SECOND PERSON HATES ME! HATES ME, BECAUSE I’M A NINDROID! “MACHINE WHICH DOESN'T DESERVE TO LIVE!” YOU THINK WHY I NEVER PROTECT MYSELF?! BECAUSE… - he hesitated – B-because I d-don’t want to h-hurt a-anyone… - on the last words tears flowed from his eyes.
- SO, JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! - White Ninja used his elemental power to create ice spikes. And while everyone was trying to recover from the attack of the ice master, Zane ran outside as fast as possible...
Ok! The first chapter of my FIRST fic. I tried :3

Please, how were they even supposed to know that a teenage Lord Garmadon would end up at the monastery?
Just a 3am idea that already ended up being 4.4k words long and got turned into a fanfic. What have I got myself into?
I edited this to add the italics because apparently copy pasting from FFNet yeeted them out. Oh well. Lesson learned at least.

"If only I had a dollar for every time they asked for you."
"...too bad. Maybe then you'd at least dress better."
"Hey!" Kai sputtered, unconsciously reaching for his hair. It was still as spiky as ever, even though the sweat was still continuing it's determined mission to ruin it. "This is good quality hair gel, I assure you."
Lloyd crossed his arms, thoroughly unconvinced. "But I was talking about your clothes," he pointed out cheekily, the urge in Kai to strangle him growing by the minute. "Not what you did to transform into a human ice cream."
Kai's scowl quickly morphed into a glare. "Well you definitely purchased a years' supply of bleach!"
"For the last time, I'm a natural blonde," Lloyd groaned in reply, beyond exasperated. He ran a hand through his own strands, sulking. "Blame it on the recessive genes."
Kai let out a snort. "Still, it's kinda weird to think we could've looked alike—if you'd gotten Garmadon's hair, I mean," he mused. His eyes lingered on the pale blonde part of Lloyd's head, pursing his lips. "A tiny bit of my skills and— "
"Stop."
"—and you could've looked like an adorable little Kai Junior, what a shame you missed your— "
"I guess I got lucky then," Lloyd shuddered, hand tightening around the lock of hair in his hand. "Saved me from hair gel assault."
"Well," Kai said, eyeing him mischievously. "You never quite know…"
"Watch it," Lloyd warned, backing away from him as Kai seemed visibly nearer. His skin looked pale, like all the blood had rushed to Kai's gi instead. "We're on a mission."
"Yeah, and it's a call to handle one Venomari, which apparently still hasn't popped in ye— "
"I see him!" Lloyd yelled, and Kai only got a second's worth of warning before a familiar green squirt suddenly whizzed past him, miraculously missing his eyes unlike stupid last time.
And FSM, was he never going down that road again.
Kai gritted his teeth at the memory.
"Visiting the surface?" he taunted, narrowing his gaze.
They were in a room full of sarcophagi, the golden relics lining the circular space perfectly. The squirt of venom had come from their left, so that meant that was where the scaly guy could be hiding.
Kai saw Lloyd's eyes begin to squint, before soon widening to the size of saucers. "There!"
In an instant, an orb of energy was hurled at one of the sarcophagi, mercilessly sending it to the ground to reveal a startled Venomari warrior. An ancient case was clutched in his grasp, the deep emerald crest on it glinting under the museum light. It looked every bit the stolen artifact it was.
"Had fun playing hide and seek?" Kai mocked.
As expected, the Venomari tried to make a break for it, but Lloyd aimed another blast at his legs, tripping him automatically.
The Venomari grunted in pain, and Kai briefly wondered if Lloyd's blast had actually been painful enough to prevent him from getting back up. "Two of you to face one Serpentine?" he rasped.
"Surprised?" Lloyd said, stepping closer. The Venomari made no move to rise. "We just thought you might appreciate the extra company."
"And you might wanna return that souvenir too, by the way," Kai added, eyeing the case pointedly. "Hand it over willingly, and you make things much easier for both you and us."
"Doessss it really?" the Venomari huffed, visibly unconvinced. "I find spending several yearssss in a cage for retrieving what issss rightfully mine not a very dessirable outcome."
So another the-surface-dwellers-stole-the-heck-from-us issue, Kai thought, feeling a little weary just at the realization. These had been happening a lot more often lately, even if the snakes had already been left to roam on their own for years. Zane deduced that it was because of Aspheera, that something about her quest for revenge appeared to have lit a flame in a small number of Serpentine. Though at least, the chances of another Serpentine War happening wasn't as high as Kai thought they were, according to Zane.
And Kai definitely wasn't looking forward to Lloyd having to banish someone else.
"Huh," Lloyd said, jolting him out of his thoughts. "Well, who said I can't just take it from you anyways?"
The Venomari slowly raised his head, and yellow eyes soon stared eerily at Lloyd. "Sssso confident to a fault, son of Garmadon."
Something darkened in Lloyd's gaze, just like it always did whenever Garmadon's name decided to jump into the picture. "You're already down anyways," he said tightly, and Kai didn't miss the way his hands clenched at his sides. "I've used this on many Serpentine before, and never once have they gotten up," he told him, regarding the Venomari coolly. "So I guess it's straight into a cell for you.
Lloyd then took another step forward, and that was when Kai felt an icy chill run down his spine. He didn't understand why until he saw the familiar signs of relief settle in the Serpentine's eyes. Now that...that couldn't be good could it?
Panic seized his chest. "Lloyd—don't you dare— "
Then, the next thing Kai knew, the Venomari had opened its mouth, and…sent a spit of well-aimed venom straight into Lloyd's face.

"So…was it a Hypnobrai or a Fangpyre?" Nya asked, just as she entered the gaming room. Jay and a highly frazzled Zane were casually taking up most of the space on the sofa, the consoles each of them were holding just accepting the ambush coming from their thumbs. "Just asking to make sure my brother doesn't do anything stupid."
"Neither," Zane replied, not tearing his gaze from the screen. But Nya could easily tell he wasn't here on his free will. "It was a call for a Venomari Warrior."
"Now doesn't that bring back sweet memories?" Jay cackled gleefully, before sending his avatar lunging at an alien. He might still deny it, but Nya was 100% certain that this was already his third hour into the game. "Ah, nothing like Venomari venom to reveal your fear of elves, I tell ya."
Cole looked surprised from where he was spectating, a bag of cake flavored chips held on his lap. "Kai went along too?"
Nya shrugged. "He couldn't exactly let Lloyd go to the museum alone, especially after how that turned out last time," she shuddered, remembering Morro. "Better safe than sorry, I guess."
"No kidding," Jay muttered, licking his lips. "Does anyone know just how much worse Lloyd's luck's been getting over the years?"
"Zane's too though, since he's the one that keeps getting presumed dead and all," Cole pointed out, only to earn a frosty look from the nindroid. "What? Just stating the facts."
Zane huffed. "Thank you for that."
Nya rubbed her temples, foreseeing bickering. "Anyone seen Sensei Wu lately?"
"Went down to Jamanakai the last time I checked," Jay answered. "Something about restocking his tea collection or...whatever."
Cole's brows knitted into a frown. "But didn't he restock like three days ago?"
Jay just shrugged. "That old beard goes through more tea than all of us combined," he said, shaking his head. "It's an addiction, I swear."
"Either that, or he's just trying to keep up with the image of cryptic old Sensei," Nya said dryly, before fighting back a smile that suddenly grew sad. "That's what Sensei G kept saying."
"Yeah," Cole agreed, a similar look crossing his face. "Feels so long ago doesn't it?"
"Approximately three years, four months, one week and six days ago," Zane clarified easily. "Precisely two weeks after the Final Battle."
"Which, to this day, I still can't get why they call it that," Jay scowled, leaning his back further against the couch. "To be fair, it wasn't even the final one."
"At the time it was though," Cole told him. "I mean, we'd all thought we were practically done with all this after it ended didn't we?"
"And Wu even made us teachers," Nya snorted, remembering the incredulous stares they'd given their Sensei at the announcement. She grimaced. "That school wouldn't have stayed open if it weren't for Zane, really."
Zane heaved out a weary sigh. "The fact that none of you know how to do basic algebra never ceases to amaze me."
Nya sputtered at that. "In my defense, Kai and I couldn't exactly afford school when we were— "
"—and Jay even assumed that the Earth was flat," Zane continued, sounding highly strained. The Master of Lightning let out an yelp beside him and Zane sent him a glare. "Which is why I will do everything in my power to never let you near a student ever again."
Cole scoffed. "You still haven't even checked Lloyd," he defended indignantly. "For FSM's sake, are we all forgetting that the kid literally came from Darkley's— "
Cole cut himself off, that being the moment when the sound of a loud creak filled the air. The monastery's courtyard gates were open, and it didn't take long for the four of them to make it outside in anticipation of their two friends' return. And to also see which of them had gotten a good burst of halogen, Nya added silently, bracing herself for the inevitable. Knowing her two brothers, it was bound to happen one way or the other, and the best and most generous thing she could do was to not let the unfortunate victim live it down.
But... what they didn't expect to see was the return of a very pale Sensei Wu, allowing a bewildered teenage boy enter with him. And that was exactly what they were seeing. He was tall, with a head of brown hair that was held up with a purple bandana. Nya was absolutely certain she hadn't seen him before.
But that didn't mean she didn't notice that his face was familiar.
"Master?" Cole began hesitantly, alternating his gaze between their Sensei and the boy with unbridled confusion. "Uh, who is this?"
Wu's complexion seemed whiter than his robes. He looked around the courtyard, drawing in a sharp breath.
"Where is Lloyd?"
"At the museum with Kai. There's a Venomari causing trouble," Nya answered automatically, studying Wu with barely-held-back curiosity. "Why?"
Wu momentarily stilled. "There is a lot to explain."
"We have time,"Jay pointed out, before gesturing to the boy. He looked close to Kai's age. "You a new recruit?"
The newcomer paled significantly at the question. "Who—" he then broke off, before looking helplessly at Wu.
Wu appeared to understand. "These are my students," he said, trying to make the teen comfortable but failing miserably. "You helped train them once."
Now Nya was confused, and for a moment wondered if she'd somehow gotten her own element into her ears without her noticing. But it soon turned out that it wasn't just her. The others were appearing just as perplexed as she was, with her boyfriend as if their Sensei had just told him that his gi was supposed to be black.
"But I've never even seen this dude in my entire life!" Jay protested, aghast. He gestured to the boy in utter disbelief, before training his gaze on Wu. "And what the heck is with the bandana anyway? You never even told us there were people that actually wanted to recreate your teen look."
Nya's eyes widened. Wait—
Sensei's voice was firm. "I will explain everything once Lloyd is here."
"What's Lloyd even got to do with any of this?" Cole demanded, eyes narrowing suspiciously at the teen. Nya saw the teen flinch, abruptly shrinking back under his gaze. She could've sworn she'd seen that happen the same way with someone else, someone of the same height, someone during the first few days of their stay on the Destiny's Bounty every time the ninja showed their brief hostility, but still it couldn't be—
The next thing Nya knew, she was already taking several steps closer to the gates, where the teen was standing. She could feel every pair of eyes on her, including his own which she was now close enough to see were—
Red. Far more vibrant than the dull shade of their second Sensei, but not that different from the ones her friend had. And that could only mean…
Jay's tone was laced with worry behind her. "Nya, are…are you okay?"
FSM, how the heck—
She didn't even realize that she was shaking, her tongue heavy in her mouth as the confused red eyes in front of her looked at her in sheer puzzlement. Well, wasn't that a surprise, Nya thought weakly, considering the fact that the Master of Water was currently staring at him like she'd just seen a ghost. Oh, this was bad—and good, she added. Bad to give Lloyd another emotional crisis and maybe good enough cheer him up a little bit—
"Nya, you're scaring me," Jay's then begged, sounding more desperate than ever for a response. "What are you— "
"Zane," Nya breathed before she could stop herself. She barely acknowledged her own arm rising shakily to point at the teen, who she had a feeling didn't even remember her. "Get over here and run a facial analysis."
"I beg your pardon?" The nindroid asked, surprised. Nya sucked in a breath, and forced her voice to remain steady.
"I need you to come over here and do a facial analysis," she repeated, swallowing hard. " 'Cause I kinda think we might be looking at Lord Garmadon."
The reactions that followed were chaos.
..............................................................................................................................
"I can't believe you just did that!" Kai scolded, keeping an arm around him the entire time he dragged him out.
Lloyd was trying his best to avoid seeing what was in front of him, but that was mostly easier said than done. "Are you talking about getting my eyes sprayed or nearly destroying the entire museum?"
"Both duh," Kai retorted, and Lloyd casually lifted up an obscene finger at his face. Kai just sighed. "Okay, shooting your powers at everything just because you thought they were headless kittens is something I can forgive, but getting the squirt like that? Are you fucking kidding me?!"
"Well, I didn't see you trying to warn me in time," Lloyd shot back, feeling his cheeks warm. Gods, he was an idiot, but at the very least, they'd sort of managed to stop the robbery. Sort of. "Also, it wasn't me that set off the sprinklers."
"One more reason why we're both disasters, then," Kai grumbled, continuing to pull him along. "Geez, and I'm still trying to figure out what we're gonna tell Wu."
"Oh crap," Lloyd breathed, eyes widening with horror. Big mistake though, because now the result of his hallucinating vision was becoming harder to ignore, and Kai's head was looking more like an electrocuted pufferfish than a head. "Or... maybe we could just skip that part?" he suggested nervously.
"He's gonna find out anyway," Kai said, sounding strained. "Your mom's pals with the second curator."
Lloyd sighed miserably. "Now they're never gonna ask for me again huh?"
"Nah, the head of security likes you," Kai said, patting his back sympathetically. "But the janitors? Now that's a different, tragic story."
Like my life? Lloyd wondered but decided to not voice it aloud.
"But you told them we're gonna come back right?" he then asked, suspecting they were outside now as the late afternoon sunlight bathed his skin. The cars filling the road looked like mini cockroaches at this point. He gulped." 'Cause there's no way we're gonna survive our future visits if we let them clean up."
"Relax, I did," Kai assured him, leading him to the right. "How's tomorrow at 9 am sound?"
"Perfect," Lloyd nodded, exhaling a sigh of relief. "I swear, just how the heck are we not banned yet?"
"Enjoy it while it lasts," Kai said, and he then finally stopped walking. He turned to look at Lloyd, his voice stern. "And over my dead body will you be flying home tonight."
Lloyd cringed at the thought. "Wasn't planning on it anyway," he muttered.
"Good," Kai said, before summoning his Elemental Dragon, which somehow appeared as a snarling red chilli with wings in Lloyd's eyes. "Oh, and would you mind if I generously shared this to the others?" he asked cheekily, sounding as though Christmas had come early.
Lloyd shot him a dirty look. "Go kiss an Oni, Kai."
"Geez, you're so mean."
.......................................................................................................................
"What the freaking fu—"
"The scans are fairly accurate," Zane said tiredly, for what felt like the fifth time. However, it was only the third, and Zane could easily see him repeating that sentence several more times any moment soon. "I am afraid that this is in fact an adolescent Lord Garmadon."
"Lord?" the teen repeated, before turning to look at Wu questioningly. The old master merely sighed, promising that he would explain later.
To his credit, Jay had taken this exactly how Zane's databases said he would.
"Just pick a body!" he ranted, gesturing at Garmadon semi-hysterically. The teen just blinked in surprise. "That's all I ask. But did you stay in yours? Oh FSM, of course you— "
"Jay," Nya hissed, setting a hand on his shoulder to reprimand him. Zane watched in amusement as the Master of Lightning suddenly complied, the gaming room mercifully silent for once. "He doesn't remember anything."
"That is correct," Pixal said as she peered at the young Garmadon. Her green eyes flashed. "His body language strongly suggests he does not have any recollection of any of us."
Jay's eyes blew wide at the realization. "Holy FSM."
Zane coughed. "Then I believe reintroductions are in order."
"But that can wait. You still haven't told us anything yet," Cole said, looking pointedly at Wu. "Now where's that explanation?"
Wu seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else. "As I have said before, it will be given once all of you are here."
"Which might actually take a lot longer than you think," Cole said, crossing his arms. "This is Kai and Lloyd we're talking about. They're probably stopping by Skylor's noodle place as we speak."
Zane pondered it for a moment. Now…that was very likely.
Sensei huffed. "Then contact one of them!"
"Thing is, Kai never answers his phone whenever he's with Skylor," Nya told him, fighting the urge to smirk. However, she was still unsuccessful in holding back the smugness from her tone. "And Lloyd still hasn't bought a new one after his fell off his dragon."
Now that…that was also very true.
Though, why had Zane even allowed them to leave in the first place?
Sensei's shoulders sagged in defeat, slumping. For a moment, Zane thought he had managed to age a decade in the span of a second.
"Very well," he then sighed, relenting. As if a switch had been flipped, the room exploded into cheers, and the old master ran a hand on his face wearily. "Now where do I start?" he murmured.
"The beginning would be most appropriate," Garmadon said anxiously. Zane couldn't help but wonder how he hadn't recognized him at first glance, for the resemblance to Lloyd was eerily uncanny. "I could start with mine if you prefer."
"By all means," Wu said, before soon eyeing the rest of them carefully. "But perhaps some introductions should be done first."
"I agree," Garmadon swallowed, seeming nervous. In this state, standing in a room with the other ninja made it easy to see him as just another of Wu's pupils, and Zane was silently correcting himself more than once. "How many students are you training?" he asked curiously.
"They have already been trained," Wu answered, the words said with a hint of what Zane detected as pride. "But to answer your question, I have six."
"Six?" Garmadon repeated, appearing visibly impressed. "I do not think I ever recalled you saying you wanted to take on a path of teaching."
"It was a much later decision, I'm afraid," Wu replied, his lips quirking upwards in a smile. Soon, his attention was once again focused on his students. "Now, who wishes to begin?"
Zane cleared his throat. "I am Zane Julien, the current Master of Ice and a nindroid."
As expected, Garmadon's brows drew together in a frown. "Nindroid?" he asked, curiously.
Fortunately, Zane was saved from answering thanks to Jay.
"He's a droid and a ninja," Jay told him excitedly. "You put them together and voila! A nindroid."
However, the confusion in Garmadon's eyes were increasing by the minute. Zane suppressed a sigh.
"He means I am not human," he explained, hoping it would suffice. "I am a machine."
Garmadon blinked. "A machine with elemental powers?"
Zane couldn't stop himself from grimacing. "It is… quite a lengthy tale," he admitted begrudgingly.
Garmadon's eyes then flickered to Pixal, but not before Zane managed to catch the awed flame of wonder alight in them. "Your features are similar. Are you a machine as well?"
Thankfully, Pixal showed no signs of offense at the question, and Zane was relieved to see her lips pull into a smile.
"Yes," she said, nodding encouragingly. "However, unlike the others, I am neither an Elemental Master nor a ninja. Instead, I choose to protect this realm as a samurai."
"Interesting," Garmadon murmured, before glancing at Wu in fascination. "I never imagined to see a machine help defend our Father's world."
"Neither did I," Sensei agreed, voice somewhat thick. He swallowed. "Now who would like to continue?"
Nya and Jay exchanged a look, and Zane found himself wondering whether telepathy was possible. Eventually, a wide grin broke open on Jay's face, and he threw an arm around her shoulders.
"Why hello! My name's Jay Walker, resident Elemental Master of Lightning and this," his eyes grew dreamy, and Nya was pulled closer. "is the beautiful Nya Smith, Master of Water and the love of my life.
"Beautiful huh?" Nya teased, shoving him playfully. Jay's grin widened.
"One can never say it too many times, my love."
Meanwhile, Garmadon was staring at Nya, something quite similar to understanding dawning his gaze.
"Were you named after Nyad?" he asked.
Nya blinked at that, confused. "Sorry, who?"
"The First Elemental Master of Water," Sensei explained, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "Perhaps you should bring this question up with your mother the next time you see her. It does seem very likely."
Nya nodded in agreement. "I will. Thanks for telling me."
Sensei then glanced at Cole. "I believe you are the only one left?"
"Yup," Cole said, before clearing his throat. "Well, I'm Cole Brookstone, Master of Earth."
"Pleased to meet you," Garmadon replied, nodding politely. For a moment, Zane tried to picture his Oni self doing such a thing.
It wasn't long before Cole swung his gaze to Sensei, his arms folding instinctively. "You promised, Master," he reminded him stubbornly.
Wu released a weary breath. "Indeed," he said, before gesturing at Garmadon. "It would be wise not to keep them waiting, brother. Unfortunately, my students can be rather impatient— "
"Hey!"
Wu simply looked amused. "You deny the undeniable," he said.
Jay huffed. "Oh speak for yourself, you—"
The rest of his sentence was drowned out by the unmistakeable roar of an Elemental Dragon, the sound of it along with the eventual one of flapping wings coming from outside the monastery. The rest of the ninja traded knowing glances, momentarily going still before soon running out to the courtyard without a second thought.
However, only one dragon was waiting outside when the gates were eagerly pushed open. It was that of the fire element, with Kai's hands tightly holding the reigns. Zane's stomach briefly sank. Now that wasn't good, because it could either mean the Energy dragon was absent as a result of Lloyd being too injured or not having had returned from the museum at all.
Thankfully, the last thought was dismissed once Zane caught sight of a flash of blonde hair leaning against Kai's back. Yet that still didn't mean all was well, since there was a 94.27% possibility of Lloyd sustaining an injury. Though, he at least supposed he didn't mind being forced into the role of medic once again. It was getting Lloyd to not sneak out of bed and accidentally tear through his stitches that Zane was worried about.
Before long, Kai was climbing down from the dragon, gently pulling Lloyd with him. The dragon disappeared the second their feet touched the ground, and Zane couldn't help but be surprised, since Kai was not in fact anxious to the point of accidentally setting something on fire like he usually was whenever Lloyd ended up injured. Instead, he appeared to be merely rolling his eyes at something the still-conscious blonde was saying, while Lloyd's own were—
Oh, Zane realized immediately.
He knew that Lloyd's eyes were green. However, this time, they were without doubt, several shades lighter than the one recorded in his memory banks. Venomari venom, his diagnostic supplied. Lloyd had received some amount of it. Immediately, Zane's relief was replaced by the intense urge to facepalm. He'd thought better of his friend.
Nya on the other hand, hadn't.
"You owe me ten bucks, Pix," she grinned, and Lloyd's face instantly contorted into a scowl.
"I thought you had faith in me," he complained, looking every bit both miserable and annoyed. Pixal merely sighed.
"Yet I did and look how that turned out," she said, shaking her head. "To think that my algorithms suggested this as a state Kai would most likely return as."
Jay's voice was dripping with glee. "What does he see?" he asked Kai, and Zane actually thought he looked even happier than he was when they'd won the Final Battle.
Kai had just opened his mouth to reply when Lloyd hissed. "Shut up."
The Master of Fire raised his eyebrows. "I…I didn't say anything?"
"You were about to and you know it," Lloyd fired back, grumbling. "Plus, I just saw that weird hole on the pufferfish move."
"Pufferwhat?" Cole looked like he didn't believe his ears. Frankly, Zane didn't think he could either.
"I'll explain later," Kai whispered, only to earn a sharp poke on the ribs. He yelped. "Lloyd!"
"I heard that, you know," the blonde huffed, crossing his arms as he glared at him. "You're cruel."
"Get better insults."
"Fine. You're the walmart version of a human broom."
Kai threw up his arms. "I hereby refuse to believe I helped raise this kid," he declared.
"We all can't. But too late, damage done," Cole sighed, massaging the bridge of his nose. "Though, I'm definitely sure you were the worst influence—"
"Kai, Lloyd," greeted a voice.
Zane took a glanced behind him. Sensei was making their way to them, along with—
Oh dear.
Kai's forehead creased in confusion. "I'm sorry, but who is this?"
Zane pursed his lips. Now...now this was going to be interesting.

Pt.1
-
It was like any other Friday night. A crowded living room filled with loud teenagers, music so loud your brain went numb, the strong scent of booze and grass filling the air, kids pissing on the carpet and throwing up in the backyard, the perfect party… well almost perfect. There was something missing, something no amount of alcohol or smelly plants could fill.
Your head was spinning, not from the shots of vodka some girl you just met brought you, but from the people. Parties were supposed to be fun, a chance to drink and dance but the overwhelming crowd left you short of breath. No one forced you to show up, hell you weren't even invited, but you’d take any chance to get out of the house.
“Hey I’ll be right back” You say to the random blond girl, not giving her enough time to respond before you walk away. Weaving through the drunk teens to get to the back door, you frantically fiddle with the handle, air becoming something almost non-existent. Swinging the door open you step outside, taking deep breaths of air. To anyone walking by it just looked like you were calming yourself down from a bad trip.
“Hey you alright?” The sound of a familiar voice fills your ears. “You look like you've seen a ghost” (I'm so funny) It was Josh, you’d buy weed from him sometimes, though you haven't really talked outside of small talk to make your interactions feel less illegal.
“Um yeah. I'm great.” Your breath was still ragged, words coming out rushed despite how hard you tried to make them sound casual.
“Come on, sit down” He grabs you by the shoulder gently, leading you to a coach that had been pulled out into the backyard. A chick with black hair sitting on the far end of it and a dude passed out on the ground in front of it. You sit down awkwardly, Josh comes over and sits between you and the girl, holding two beers and hands you one.
"Thanks" You take the beer, your original plan of getting some air and going home ruined.
"You're a little young to be here, aren't you?" This is the first time anyone has questioned you on your age. Normally they'd give you a weird look but leave you alone.
"I'm old enough for you to sell me bud." He let out a little laugh, 14 was probably too young to be drinking and partying but who's gonna stop you?
"Got me there" He takes a sip out of the glass bottle. "You don't look like you're having fun."
“Not really” The only fun thing about parties was getting too drunk to even remember where you are, something you didn’t get the chance to do.
“You know I'm in a good mood, I got something for you.” He reaches into his pocket, holding out his hand waiting. You look at him confused and after a few seconds he rolls his eyes, but his smile grows. “Go on, take it.” You reluctantly put up your hand for him to drop whatever he has into it. When he does you realize what it is, a little pill.
“What is this?” The confusion is clear on your face, never having shown any interest in taking pills before.
“Its percocet, 10 milligrams.” You recognize the name, your grandma used to take them. What you didn't understand was why he was handing you a pain pill.
“Oh um, I don't have any money.” Which wasn’t a lie, but also a good excuse to get out of this awkward situation. He laughs again, clearly high out of his mind and way too friendly.
“Don’t worry about it, it's on the house.” Now that was what really concerned you, taking a free pill from someone who you barely knew sounded like a death sentence. “You look like you need it.”
The girl sitting next to him scoffed. “Since when are you interested in giving out free shit?” She clearly wasn't in as good of a mood as he was.
“Come on Gina, the poor girl looked like she was gonna pass out earlier.” That doesn't help with the bitter look that grows on her face.
“Oh so your girlfriend has to pay but you'll give it out to this random kid?” The tone of her voice clearly pissed off, to be fair it was kinda fucked up.
“Gina-” She doesn't give him a chance to speak before getting up and walking away, mumbling to herself. You sit there awkwardly, pill still in your hand.
“Should you like, go after her?” Wanting to get up and walk away too, not knowing what to do after accidentally being involved in a potential break up.
“Nah, she’ll be fine.” He seemed calm, not worried at all at the fact that his girlfriend just stormed out on him. Maybe this was a normal occurrence, either way you decided it's none of your business and opted not to ask any more questions.
“So what do I do with this?” You gesture to the hand with the pill in it. This was probably in the top 10 most confused you’ve ever been in your life. No one has ever handed you a random pill before.
“Take it?” He looked at you like you were dumb, like this was the most normal thing in existence.
“I don’t- I don’t think that's the best idea.” It wasn't the idea of taking a perc that scared you, it was the fact that he could have easily been lying. You’d seen enough true crime to know that this is how you end up on the news. “Here” You hold up the pill, trying to hand it back to him. “It's late, I should head home.”
“Keep it, I got plenty.” You give him a small nod, sliding the pill into your pocket as you stand up, looking down at the guy passed out on the ground.
“Uh-” You were gonna ask if he was okay but decided not to, looking back at Josh. “Have a good night.” He ghost (hehe) cheers his beer at you as you walk away, going home confused.
(“1 fish, 2 fish, this flashbacks been too long bitch” - My Brother, 2024)
The sound of the final bell rings as you head to the gym where Mr.Martin was planning for tomorrow's movie night. You open the door and see him writing in a notebook as he sits on the edge of the stage. He looks up noticing you as he slides down onto his feet. “Hey, is that your obituary?” He points down to the folder in your hand, a sickeningly sweet smile on his face that feels somewhat intimidating.
“Yeah, Wally helped me write it.” You hand him it, watching him open it, eyes gazing over the pages. A smile still on his face as he closes it.
“I figured he would, he's such a little helper.” He puts the folder on the stage beside him. “I will sit down and read that later, but for now how are you feeling?” Like shit, but you couldn’t tell him that.
“Great actually, I think this helped.” If anything it made the hunger worse, apparently even death couldn't silence the craving. You made the fake smile on your face look as convincing as possible.
“Any plans for today?” Another attempt at getting you to talk to the others. He's already suggested several ‘bonding activities’ in the two days you’ve been here.
“Yeah actually.” The way his face lit up like a christmas tree was almost comical. “Wallys gonna teach me how to swim later.”
“Oh well, isn't that lovely?” Something about the old fashioned way he talked reminded you of your grandpa. The familiarity brings an odd sense of comfort.
“I should probably um-” You gesture to the door on the other side of the gym, hands in the pocket of your hoodie, a habit you picked up to keep you from picking at the delicate skin that covers them.
“Yeah, go on. Have fun.” He waves you off, smile turning more cheesy like a supportive father watching his daughter leave for her first date.
“Okay, great” You turn awkwardly, making your way out.
“I expect to see you tomorrow.” He yells as you're halfway across the gym.
“Of course.” You yell back without turning around. Reaching the door you step out, entering the now empty halls. You weren't supposed to meet up with Wally until later but needing some alone time you opted for the library where you spent most of your day already. A quiet place where you can escape your own thoughts with a simple little book.
Going the same route you did earlier, except you were alone this time. Something about the quiet school halls felt almost uncanny, somewhat unnatural. You attempt to brush off the uneasy feeling as you reach the library. It was one of your favorite places in the school during your life other than the old locker rooms, but that wasn't really an option anymore.
The cool air hits your face as you open the door, the sweet librarian Gilinda always kept the ac on specifically for you. Kinda funny to think about the fact that she doesn't even know you're gone, nobody does, how the hell has nobody noticed? I mean isnt it fucking obvious? Do they even care? The silent tear dripping down your cheek snaps you out of thought, rubbing it away with your sleeve quickly. Emotions were always so weird, feelings were something you always tried to hide away into the farthest parts of your mind, leaving you completely and utterly numb. It was the safest option.
You made your way into the fantasy section, easy and simple. You look around for a little bit before one catches your eye ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ A token you had read years ago. The graphic story probably wasn’t appropriate for your 12 year old self but something about it sparked something within you. (Ooooh so edgy) There was this little corner you always sat in, it was quiet and not a lot of people came near it, not that it really mattered considering the library was empty but it was your little spot.
It had been a while since you got to sit down and read a book, your brain being either too wired or too relaxed to concentrate so this was a good feeling. A simple little book, in a simple little corner, in a simple little weird ass situation. What a fucking life… well death.
The spine was worn down from years of being passed around by different messy highschoolers, pages somewhat torn, leaving the sweet smell of old paper. You read through the first chapter, then the second, then the third, until you forgot about the world around you. Completely immersed in the weird fucked up tale. It was like time didn't exist, nothing did except the little images you created in your mind. It was the only way of escaping, forgetting about life, about death, about cravings, descending into a different world like nothing else matters. It wasn't until you reached the last page that you realized how late it was, though you didn't feel tired. It was like the times you did adderall, nothing could put you to bed.
“Oh shit” You whispered quietly to yourself when you realized you were only supposed to be there for an hour, your plans with Wally had been completely forgotten about. You stand up, rushing out the library, not bothering putting the book back where it belongs. The halls were dark, no light from the windows filling them, you didn’t know what time it was, just that it was late and way past when you were supposed to meet up. What a great first impression.
You made your way to the pool room only to find it empty. Of course it was, no one in their right mind would wait hours for someone they didn't even really know. Well this was shitty, he probably thinks you're a total asshole. Who could blame him? He spent his entire afternoon helping you write your obituary and you accidentally blew him off. Asshole behavior.
It's not like you could find him and apologize, he was probably asleep right now. Something Mr.Martin had advised you to do when you first got here. It was probably a good idea. You couldn’t remember the last time you had a good sleep, normally getting woken up by nightmares or stomach pain. A side effect of pills that they fail to mention.
You doubted that there were any empty couches, but Mr.Figueroa always kept blankets in his classroom in case someone got cold. His classroom was just down the hall, one of your favorite places to be during c block. He always let you hang out in there even if you were supposed to be in class. The door was locked, but if there was one thing you learned at this school it was that all you had to do was slide your id through the crack and it would pop right open, an important life skill. Charley was sleeping peacefully on the little couch in the corner of the room. You were careful not to wake him as you snuck over to the closet. It was filled with board games and little props he’d use to teach, at the bottom was a pile of folded up blankets. A fuzzy gray one at the top that you always used, it even smelled like you.
As you made your way out the classroom, blanket in hand, you tried to figure out where you were going. That's when you saw her, a red haired girl sleeping on top of the lockers. You’d seen her before but never introduced yourself since she wasn't in group. It wasn’t a bad idea, seemed peaceful. You walked down into a different hall, not knowing if there was sleeping territory. It was probably the safest option to go where your locker was.
It wasn't too high up, a little hard to climb but you managed. The medal was a little cold and you didn’t have a place to rest your head so you took your hoodie off, scrunching it up so you could use it as a makeshift pillow. It wasn't the most comfortable option but it would have to do for now, at least until you fingered out the rules of the afterlife.
(Had to conjure up my inner edgy teenage self for this one, and yes the flash back did in fact happen to me. It was really awkward)

When the Batch crash land on the outer rim planet of Sorgan, they discover things are not what they seem. 1. They aren’t done enough.
2. They help other people understand what a healthy relationship looks like.
3. Fights can last for weeks and still be part of a healthy marriage.
4. Stereotypes. Break all the marriage stereotypes.
5. Soft cute couple moments DON’T stop after marriage.
6. Marriage is completely independent of character arcs. Those two individuals with trauma will still be two individuals with trauma but with gold rings.
7. A healthy marriage is one where people understand that their partners have baggage/trauma/flaws, but love them even in rough patches.
8. It isn’t that healthy marriages aren’t compelling, it’s that people don’t know how to write marriages correctly.
9. Marriages being an end goal often perpetuates that women are trophies to be won.
10. Marriages being an end goal often perpetuates that someone’s “freedom” ends there. Bury this trope, please, I beg of you.
