Atsushi Nakajima x Reader (more like unrequited love and ?yearning?)
One's first love will either be painful or beautiful. Walking to work on a sunny day you were feeling quite content as you hummed a tune to a random song. You couldn’t help but let your eyes wander as you passed by that familiar four story building you had spent so much time in.
How long had it been since you worked there? You couldn’t remember anymore, but you did remember all the vivid and fun memories you had there as well as the sad, heart-breaking ones. Those memories all had a special place in your heart, especially the ones with him in it.
Staring into the window you happened to catch a glimpse of him laughing with Ranpo happily. It made you glad but also sad to see him so happy. His purple and yellow eyes shifted towards the window, and they glimmered in the way you loved to see them shine when they landed upon you.
Beaming he quickly opened the window leaning out, shouting a greeting to you, with a smile you shouted a greeting back and paused on the sidewalk to simply stare and smile at him.
With that ridiculous haircut of his and that dopey smile that made your heart flutter and gave you butterflies in your stomach. “Why don’t you come visit sometime soon! We all miss you!” His voice was shouting over the sounds of bustling traffic “maybe!”
Pouting slightly at your answer he was suddenly being pulled at by the back of his shirt by no doubt Kunikida. Quickly waving goodbye he gave you one last smile before he was dragged away.
You couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle continuing your commute, his smile lingering on your mind. You wished you had the courage to tell him how you felt when you had the chance, it would be a regret you would carry with you for the rest of eternity.
Sometimes that’s how it ends because sometimes, cupid runs out of arrows, and shoots one person, not two.
What felt like an entire book was merely a chapter, that was alright though, you enjoyed every second of it.
Atsushi Nakajima didn’t make it to the end of your story, but you’ll always remember what chapter he was, for you’ll reread it for years to come for it was the most beautiful your heart had ever felt.
