Oculus gets us deeper into virtual reality
Our common reality has been already persuaded to change by the first DK1 then DK2 and it seems that this process will not stop in the beginning of it. Oculus is preparing its new powerful VR headset, advantage of which comparing to the precursors is the ability to submerge all your senses in an overall immersion of a real virtual reality.
Built on the basis of Developer Kit 2, a new prototype Crescent Bay is a transitional stage on the way to the next generation of Rift. And this state of DK2 should prepare us to face the new generation of Rift Developer Kit 3, which will be revealed to us a bit later.
Unlike the progenitors, the Oculus DK 3 will have 360 degrees head tracking, an extended amount of positional tracking and integrated high quality headphones fastened on the frame, which makes the sound be as exciting as the visuals. RealSpace3D audio technology used comes as the combination of HRTF dimensional and complex reverb algorithms, which creates a feeling of actual presence right in your own head. Oculus also said that game engine Unity will be set in a Free and Pro versions.
It is expected that the headset will be quite light, and will not cause swelling of the neck during prolonged usage. The performance of the device will be upgraded as well to finally end up with the annoying slowdown of the graphics, which can cause slight suspension of the picture. Prototype Crescent Bay allows you to operate only in a range of about 3 feet for the moment, but hopefully it will be improved in a retail version.
Now Oculus is open to third-party development, which can become absolutely new path of development making VR platform the most stable in the future. Oculus Rift DK 3 will not be perfect, but it must be better than others. We do not know what improvements are waiting for us and when they come in force, but we hope that they will be worthy and timely.

Oculus VR Gun called Trinity Magnum shoots in the house
Kickstarter has launched another startup Trinity Magnum – a gun for Oculus Rift VR Headset. The budget to be reached is $60.000 and a weapon for virtual killing will be physically released.
The VR gun is made in a shape of a pistol, which can be held in one hand and if holding by two hands it is transforming into a shotgun or a machine gun depending on the virtually used one.
The gun is equipped with cheap but most precise sensors, which allow the user to shoot at the enemy in game accurately, but standing in your room at any other preferable place in front of the camera. Such effect is convenient and it requires only Oculus helmet and any of the web-camera lying around in order to enjoy the new virtual reality games.
The new games are for sure scheduled to be realized together with the smart minds, who already designed Rift and the gun controller. Just imagine how the whole project of Oculus VR can be realized in future, when the hardware, the budget and the fame increases!
The VR gun will cost $100 only and will be released in December 2014 if the funds income from Kickstarter will be fulfilled as planned.

Look into the future through Sony Morpheus VR headset
Get ready to immerse into the new reality professionally designed for your home entertainment from Sony. Project Morpheus, which is planned to suit your PS4 device, will let you taste a piece of reality in a virtual world.
The prototype was already introduced to the attendees, who had an opportunity to be the first to try demo games for the headset, such as “Eve: Valkyrie”, the space simulator, Deep Sea simulator and few others. By their words, the feelings are awesome and cannot be compared at all to previous versions of headsets.
If you look at the prototype you can understand that the design is incredibly futuristic and amazing, but nevertheless the creators stipulate that it will modified in order to have even better performance and look. As you could notice the LED glow on the edges of the mask makes a real flash-forward with your mind. It is clearly seen for the moment that the Sony’s creation looks much more completed and unique than the hotfoot Oculus Rift, which is already on sale, by the way.
The display of Project Morpheus is 90 degrees wide comparing to Oculus VR, which has 110 degrees of sight range, but nevertheless when immersing into the game such details have no sense for your peripheral vision, as the first players affirm. Also both devices have 1080p HD quality video, which is by the way claimed to be insignificant for fabulous emotions while playing, though as Oculus has already released, Sony has some time to upgrade their Project’s specs.
As Facebook has started to support Oculus VR, we might see some interesting games made for Windows, but it is not a big secret that Sony is more powerful platform for video games than the social network is. Sony can already boast with more features, such as DualShock and PlayStation move controllers having a better physical performance for the player. Furthermore there’s a speed-racing game, which requires a player only to lie on the bed and nod the head with no other controllers involved. Morpheus also comes with a new 3D audio technology that re-creates stereoscopic sounds in all directions and adapts depending on your head position.
So here’s what we see at the moment: Oculus has a first–go advantage and Sony has an opportunity to outrace the beginner. But thanks to Facebook’s continuous patronage the eventual result may be opposite, if more innovative and interactive games will be created for Oculus VR headset in the nearest future. And for the moment we can see such opportunity in their hands, as the release date of Sony’s device and the price it might sell for is still unknown. But most probably we should aim for 2015!

Oculus has revealed a new headset Rift Dev Kit 2
The future is coming to our homes much faster than you could ever imagine! Already forgot when you last wrote SMS to your girlfriend thanks to the mobile messenger Whatsapp, which Facebook has bought.
Now prepare to forget about your dull home PC display and use new generation Oculus virtual reality headset also acquired by Facebook to deliver you futuristic senses and “unreal” emotions.
This project has proven itself to many leading game developers to be a breakthrough offering the wearer a stable and low latency motion-tracking with OLED display featuring 1080p quality inside with a much wider range of view comparing to small boxes presented before. Oculus Rift Dev Kit 2 also uses a new external cameras and multiple infrared LEDs which track the player's head movement including looking over obstacles. For direct connection the device has USB and HDMI inputs.
This is a new chance to immerse into a new virtual reality of 3D technology just for $350. Though do not put your shoes on to plunder the stores, as there are even more news: the developer is so eager to make the VR serie perfect, that he has already started testing the next device from this line. According to the recently revealed details, it will be named Oculus Rift DK 3 and will come with implanted headphones to occupy your head completely. The prototype of next Oculus Rift VR headset, dubbed Crescent Bay has built-in audio.
