Fav mythical creature: honestly probably a couple, dragons bc of nostalgic reasons and have a close connection with them due to family, and anything cryptid
Gear: mhm! the "normal" gear I own is one tail and two collars (which I don't wear super often due to sensory issues but other than that I love them) I also have a few clothing items I like bc they have the colors of my fur plus are warm and cozy :3

gender is weird, my gender is weird
I'm trans in the sense I was born without a gender so whatever gender I experience will be trans
but because I wasn't born with a gender the gender I live in will not have changed from something else so I'm also cis
but I'm not cisgender or transgender. I've lived and do live the life of both but I am neither
I'm also not a human, my species doesn't have a concept of gender. My gender is barely hanging on as a man but is still a man, a man through wildness and being untamed, the best way I could present myself in the society I live in

I'm literally not a human, my body may not look exactly like my species but I still am my species, in every single way possible. My body is my species, my mind is my species, everything about me is who I say I am. No matter how it may look or seem. No matter how others may see me, I am me.
as a personal thing, I don't think I like the term therian anymore, it just, it feels like it's connecting me to humanity too much
I am not a human, or even connected to humanity at all which is why I really like just being called a holothere or nonhuman
(this is just a personal experience for me, I know not everyone relates to this!!)
EDIT: I AM NOT SAYING THOSE WHO ARE THERIANS ARE HUMANS!!!!! I personally am not comfortable with the term and do not like it. But I also understand that those who are therian are also not humans!! We all have a different, or no, connection with humanity. Physical therians do exist!

I am an animal. I hate hiding the fact that parts of being an animal are vicious, upsetting, gross, even unwanted.
If you are not a human in literally any way, please play into your animalistic side. Being an animal is dirty, unclean, wild, chaotic, and so so much more than how it is presented on the surface of a lot of therian/otherkin/etc communities.
Animals have animal instincts, I am not wrong for having these instincts, whatever they may be.
There is nothing wrong with not being this but so many creatures and beings are this and should not be afraid of who they really are.

are there any nonhuman who are their species due to trauma with that species? I know of those who are their species caused by a trauma response but for example, a dogkin because they had been bitten by a dog
no one has to share due to trauma being a personal experience, but if anyone would like too I am very curious and would like to learn more!

I'm not a human, I've never been a human and probably never will be one. I've known this for as long as I knew I didn't fit in "correctly" but the annoying thing is I grew up in a human world which cared a LOT about manners
so when I try to be wild and free it just, doesn't work. my brain tells me it wants to eat with its mouth and on all fours but my muscle memory and conscience says that's wrong bc I grew up in a completely opposite way

it's frustrating

For now, the server is still going under maintenance. I'm adding mods to make sure the majority of therians is included.

I love my girlfriend so much she makes me so happy, they make feel so genuine and real. I was having really bad cramps and to help me feel better he grabbed my hand and told me to growl and we just growled at each other and it helped so much too be animalistic like that. she's my number one supporter and I'd do anything for him š«¶š«¶

You're overthinking your theriotype research.

What do you feel like.
You could be a wolf that likes being pet and like toys.
You could be a cat that likes water and forests.
You could even be a dog that prefers forests.
Therianthropy is what YOU feel like you are.
If what you're personality "shows" you are is something that you feel like you arent. Then you arent. Despite what the signs are.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE.
This doesn't mean "oh I WANT to be a bird so ill pick bird." No- do you *feel* more like a bird than human?
Remember. Getting your theriotype wrong is normal. Theriotypes changing is normal. Were all non-human together.
