For the trope game...Romione for Fairy tale AU and Prision AU. Oh and Percy/Audrey for Airport/Travel AU.
Romione – Fairy Tale Prison AU
Hermione had been locked up in her tower for all of her life. She had never truly experienced what was like living, until she met him. His red hair, his charming smile, his blue eyes that seemed to have been stolen from the sky itself. Prince Ron. They had met each other when she had been reading a book by a window in her tower, or her small prison cell as she began calling it nowadays.
He had been so new to Hermione, she had not met any other people besides her adoptive mother. At first she disliked him, his poor manners, his vulgar language, and his habit of being extremely tactless. Yet, she couldn't help but fall in love with him.
Of course their romance was short lived. Hermione's adoptive mother had caught them, and using magic she sent wild and violent canaries to her beloved prince, blinding his eyes and leaving him from ever seeing her face again. She had kicked Hermione from the tower and left her to roam the streets. Ron had been mistaken as a beggar and had accidentally angered a Prince from a neighboring kingdom called Malfoy.
He had been thrown into prison to rot for the rest of his days. But, Hermione had found a window, and every night she read him one of the stories they read together in her tower. There came one day that the grief and pain of not being together was too much for Hermione and she wept over the small cell bars that kept her apart from Ron, her tears landed on his bandaged eyes, and unbeknownst to her healed him.
After regaining his eyesight and clearing himself off all charges Ron took Hermione to his own Kingdom, where they lived happily ever after.
Sorry for the rushed story. I guess I'm better with elements I'm familiar with and this two AUs were my kryptonite.
I think I did a better job on the next one.
Perdrey – Airport Travel AU
The first time he sees her it's a surprise, but a good one nonetheless. She is different yet similar to him. She reminds him of home, perhaps it's the laptop that she always seems to carry around where she writes seemingly non-stop, just like him.
Perhaps it's the abrasiveness that he's so accustomed to. How she seems to only take yes for an answer whenever she speaks to any of the staff in the airport. How she's not afraid to point out others mistakes.
It's not love, it can't be, because he doesn't even know her. He sees her every couple of weeks. Her job seems to involve traveling like his. He wonders if perhaps it's a sign, or maybe he's just looking for them, looking for a reason to get some courage and talk to her. They're all brave in his family, even his baby brother and sister are brave. But he doesn't seem to share the family trait.
They travel to the same place. They end up in the same hotel in Costa Rica. They meet each other. They have dinner. They walk by the coast. They talk about their families, friends, jobs and he can't help, but notice how beautiful she is when she's working and when she's not working.
He kisses her, but still doesn't go further than that. They travel back home and he wonders if he should've done it. The logical side in him tells him how hard-working their relationship would be, it tells him how it's not worth it if they're going to get their hearts broken.
But then he sees her, just a couple of weeks after he's back when he has to go to the airport again. She still looks beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. And he forgets his job, he forgets that the plane ticket he's going to miss is going to come out of his pocket , he doesn't care because she's there and he's brave. Brave for her at least.
She's about to go by the metal detector and his voice seems to come alive on its own. She's looking at him and he's an idiot for not being brave. He reaches for her and kisses her. She kisses him back.
They take some time off work and spend a long deserving vacation together. They know they'll have to go back. They won't see each other for some time because of their work. But work seems pretty boring when they're kissing on a bench in Venice.
whats your opinion on percy weasley? i'd love to see him get fleshed out more in your rewrite!
You know, originally, I didn’t care much for him. But the other day someone asked for my opinions on the Weasleys (check it out here), and a discussion on Percy surged from there.
Now, I think that because Percy was a kid born when things were most intense in the war, there’s got to be a lot of repressed trauma. Like, Molly and Arthur already had Bill and Charlie, so that’s three kids they needed to protect from everything. Three kids who didn’t understand what was happening and why Mom and Dad are always so paranoid and stressed and exhausted. I talk about some of this here.
I think Molly taught her kids to be quiet at all times, especially when hiding, and to be obedient because otherwise bad things can happen. And I think Percy was the most obedient and quiet of the three, and he was often praised for it. But then, when the war ended, he got stuck in the war mindset.
While the world was slowly moving on and mending itself, Percy continued being the perfectly quiet and obedient child who followed the rules down to a T. His older brothers didn’t have time to dwell on the past, they were too busy helping Molly around the house, and the younger ones never had to experience what they did, not really, anyway.
So he gets made fun of when he fusses over the rules, or when he brags about his accomplishments (which I think he does because now he’s not being praised as much as he used to, and is now desperately competing with his siblings for that kind of attention), or when he says that he wants to work in the Ministry.
SO, I think I’m going to have Percy have that big fight with his parents, but I want to also find a way to make them understand that he wasn’t entirely wrong—his execution could’ve been better—but he was also hurting and he was very determined. He wanted to do good, he believed in the Ministry, whom he watched clean the streets after the war.
I think that’s it for now, any more ideas are welcomed :)
EDIT: I also want Percy to end up with Oliver Wood because I’ve been shipping them for so long and they’d just be an awesome couple. PERCIVER FOR LIFE!!
You know, what you said made me think of a lot of devastating stuff.
Just imagine baby Percy wanting to play but his parents are overwhelmed with the war and reject him every time.
In a war, I’m pretty sure that there’s going to be a lot of scary moments: nearby fights, the distant sounds of people screaming, Molly hysterically counting her children before hiding together in a bathroom while Arthur makes sure the DEs are not near.
Percy was quiet because that’s how Molly and Arthur told him to be because of the war. He was the best at being quiet and perfectly obedient, he was always praised for it.
The war ends when he’s five years old and he has to witness his mother breaking down and every now and then because the memories are still haunting her. He’s helpless and anxious because he doesn’t know how to comfort her, this doesn’t seem the type of situation where a bandaid and a kiss would make it better.
Percy never forgot. While Bill and Charlie were thrusted into the substitute parents role, therefore too busy to dwell on the past, Percy was stuck. He watched the world move on without him.
He was no longer needed to be quiet. He no longer needed to be completely obedient. He no longer needed to be strong. But Percy doesn’t know how to not do that.
Now he’s strange.
Percy, the boy who doesn’t come out and play with his brothers.
Percy, the boy who yells at his brothers when they become too noisy for him to read.
Percy, who always tells on his siblings when doing something wrong.
Percy, who decided to work for the Ministry from a young age because he always saw them on the streets trying to clean the aftermath of the war.
Percy Weasley, y’all.
I think Percy was a quite child - I love the older two, but I don't connect with their stories as much - because of the war. And nobody minded. Being quiet meant he could hide, being quiet meant he wasn't a liability. But then the war ended, and people saw him as weird.
Honestly, I agree. Being quiet isn’t a flaw or a liability. However, from what I understand, Percy was already thought of as weird since way before the war. There’s a lot of moments in the books where people mock him (mostly the twins). I think it wasn’t until after the war that people started trying to understand him.
I meant the first Wizarding War! He was born 22 August 1976, and the war ended around 1981, so he'll have been a child back then
Oh shit, you’re right! I completely forgot that he must’ve been born during the first war. In that case, I think you might be onto something🤔

What's your opinion on each of the Weasleys?
Hi! That’s a really great question! I might be adding some headcanons into the mix, hope that’s okay.
Bill Weasley: I had a major crush on him when I was younger, he was just so badass. I still like him, but now I focus on Fleur. Anyway, I picture him as a third-parent because the oldest kids (especially in big families like his) are always plunged into the responsibilities of caring for the younger ones when the parents are unavailable for any reason.
Charlie Weasley: He’s asexual, you can’t tell me otherwise. I also had a Charlie phase when I first read about him, mostly because of his dragons. I think he was also forced into the responsibility of being yet another parent, but perhaps not as much as Bill. I also think he intentionally decided to be far from his family, not because he doesn’t love them or anything, but perhaps because home got overwhelming.
Percy Weasley: There’s a lot of controversy here. I don’t think about him much, but I relate to him in some ways. I think he was feeling forgotten. In a big family, the kids are constantly fighting for the spotlight, for the love and praise of their parents. But then, when you add Harry to the mix, it just becomes impossible to get your parents to listen for a minute. I think he got lost in his search for validation, though in no way do I think he’s way of handling it was correct.
Fred Weasley: Everyone says that he’s the harsher twin, that he’s the leader, and honestly, I see it. I do think he was extremely sensitive, despite the way he behaves in public. Like you insult something he’s already self-conscious about and he’ll cut you down with words, but he’ll also sulk about it for the rest of the day.
George Weasley: He’s my favorite. Solely because of the immense post-war potential now that he only has one ear. I feel like people should realize that this is the perfect opportunity to introduce the Deaf community into the wizarding world. (Am I self-portraying here? Yes, yes I am). George Weasley talking in sign language? Sign me up!
Ron Weasley: I don’t understand why so many people dislike him. He was an amazing friend to Harry, he was brave, he was loyal, he was just awesome. I think a lot of people saw him get jealous a few times and clung to it. He’s one of the youngest kids in his family, the pressure is insane especially because of all the accomplishments each of his siblings have. Cut him some damn slack.
Ginny Weasley: The movies destroyed her. She was incredibly badass throughout the entire series and I loved her. One thing I will complain about is the way she treated Fleur for no reason. Like, sweetie, your internalized misogyny is showing. Other than that, loved her. Also I have this headcanons where she shaves her hair off after the war, and Molly completely flips because her daughter had such pretty hair.
Molly Weasley: She was, by no means, a perfect mother. There’s a lot of things I really didn’t like about her (like the way she never bothered to differentiate her twins), but I never doubted her love and devotion to her kids. Plus she was such an angel when it came to Harry, she was just what the poor guy needed.
Arthur Weasley: Please don’t kill me, but I’m very neutral about him. He’s a good father, of course, but I personally don’t feel any kind of attachment to the man, I don’t know why.
I think I’ve got all the Weasleys, whew! Thank you, Anon, for the question. It was fun to answer 💜
Harry Potter Rewrite.
I’m just going to reinvent the Harry Potter world as a whole, because with each new detail I add to my fic, i stray further away from canon. Like, there’s just so many plot holes with simple solutions, and I just refuse to write stories in a world where they would shit right on the spot and then carry on like nothing. I refuse.
Now, is there any plot hole about the worldbuilding that bugs you? Tell me about it, maybe try to explain a solution you have as well?
Do you have a specific headcanon that diversifies the character/plot? Let me know!
I wanna hear all of the ideas you may have, and I’ll do my best to portray it in a way that makes sense for the era.
