Now that we have gone over the four simple plot-problems (1, 2, 3, 4) and how they are solved through try-fail cycles, we’ll take a look at how to make complex, compound, and compound-complex plots through the same devices as sentence creation.

The first way we’ll try complicating a plot is by making the solution of the first noted plot-problem dependent on the solution of a second plot-problem, which stands in for easy solution prevention. We’re typically going to use dependent plots to strengthen audience satisfaction when the character is finally able to succeed. Or, like in the case-study we’ll look at today, they can be used to draw what appeared to be disparate plots together in longer works.

Hi I made this photoshop in honor of the absolute legend @asktheboywholived, who is far superior to movie Sirius in my opinion. I probably could have found a better picture, but it took a long time to find this one. I covered up “Prisoner” the best I could, substituted it with some HP-generated text, manually took out the background from the absolute legend and tried to filter and color as much as possible to make it slightly resemble the lighting on the poster.

I just found out there is a band called "the whomping willows" and oh my freaking god they have songs based on Harry Potter and the Marauders and on ships that are fanon like wolfstar and oh my goooood i freaking out right now

In PoA Sirius has about shoulder length hair, right??

But if he's been locked up in Azkaban for twelve years, how is his hair not longer?

Even if it had been completely short when he went in, it should have been much longer (except depression/absence of hope makes hair stop growing).

So my point is, dementors as hair dressers and stylists.
