no but like. Norman actually wanting Peter to be his son in law is so fucking funny. Like “if I can’t swap kids I can at least have him marry into the family” kind of vibes. he’s such an asshole, he can at least be the unintentionally funny kind
norman osborn, reading a newspaper: I’m so glad you and peter have finally made it official
harry, spitting out his coffee: sorry, what?
norman: come on, no need to hide anymore, son. thanksgiving at your apartment and your special someone will be there? obviously it’s peter. you’ve been enamored with him since high school. I thought you would remain repressed, so I’m impressed you made a move.
harry:
norman: I briefly considered adopting him but this is close enough
harry, realizing this is the first time norman has ever approved of his life choices (even tho he and pete r not actually dating): right ha ha ha me and peter two love birds
norman: make sure he takes our name when you get married
I had to figure out comparative Raimi-verse and Webb-verse character strength for a fic once and found out that this scene:
has absolutely bonkers implications (and is also physically impossible).
For reference, the thing that's attached to the other end of that cable he's holding is a pre-2010 Roosevelt Tramway car. It weighs 18,300 pounds, or 9.16 tons, when empty, and it is currently loaded (though I'll be ignoring the weight of the passengers in this post for the sake of easier math). That is an absolutely insane amount of weight to hold one-handed, and he's not bracing or shifting his weight to counter it at all.
This means that Norman is much, much stronger than the 800% increase in strength promised by the performance enhancers. I don't know exactly how the ratios translate, but if Norman can hold 9 tons without effort in one hand, he can probably bench press two or three times that. Eight times the current unequipped bench press record is 6,256 pounds, or 3.12 tons, roughly a third of the weight he is currently supporting. And Peter is capable of beating Norman hand-to-hand, which requires a rough parity in strength. Therefore, Peter is also absolutely insanely strong. They're both closer to Thor's weight class than to Captain America's.
So much for the overanalysis of what this single shot means for Norman and Peter's abilities. Here's where we get to what makes the scene impossible: weight ratios. Norman is not sticky, like Peter. He does not have foot clamps on the bridge like he does on his glider. There is no physical way that a 180-190 pound dude, however inhumanly strong, can hold that much weight without skidding right off of the bridge into freefall. By all rights, this should not be a shot of the Green Goblin standing menacingly over Peter Parker, it should be a shot of a green blur getting yanked off the side of the Queensboro Bridge by the force generated by 9.15 tons of falling metal, and that absolutely cracks me up laughing.
"Harry, isn't this your father?" - asked mj who was holding a polaroid in his hand
- What? Let me see
Harry took the polaroid Mj was holding, his father didn't seem to be older than him in the photo, Norman was smiling without looking at the camera, it wasn't a cruel or trusting smile.
Harry did not think he had ever seen his father smile like that, Norman Osborn seemed genuinely happy, Harry looked in a corner of the photo, it did not take him long to recognize the handwriting of his father, there it was written "the best day of my life"
— I wonder what would have happened for Dad to stop looking so happy — thought Harry.
— HEY GUYS, HERE ARE MORE PHOTOS! — Peter called as he held a box in his arms
Norman: I think goblin swallowed your ipod
Otto: what!? How do you know he did that?
Norman opens his mouth and beats his chest
the first chords of If i Were a Rich Man are heard
AU where the cure for Norman is not dashed from the Goblin, instead it causes him amnesia.
At first Norman really thought that the Goblin disappeared, until one night while Norman was in his office he heard the Goblin's voice again, although Goblin no longer sounded like he was full of anger and resentment against the world instead it sounded confused and even somewhat... Afraid?
— who are you? — Norman looked at his reflection in pure panic, but all he saw was his reflection with a confused look and a pointing finger.
— You do not know who I am? — Norman asked, the reflection of him in the mirror shaking her head.
— No, I don't, because you look like me? —The Goblin sounded confused, nothing like how Norman remembered him.
— Do you know who you are? — Norman asked, waiting for the other to answer, goblin was silent for a while, but finally spoke.
-No...
At first Goblin is very nosy coming forward at inopportune moments or asking Norman questions about something he thought, these things used to put Norman in trouble, but over the months Norman and Goblin learned to live with each other.
They have problems like the fact that neither of them knows everything Goblin did, only being able to rely on what the diaries say, or what Goblin said to Norman before he lost his memory.
In this AU Norman came back to his universe before the final battle against Peter, so Peter doesn't know that Norman is the Green Goblin and he doesn't plan to tell him anytime soon.
Norman destroyed everything he had to do with the Green Goblin, except for the glider, since both Norman and Goblin like to fly in it.
The AU mainly explores the life of Norman and Goblin once they have returned to their universe and how they both adapt to this second chance, he how Norman deals with the fact that at some point in time after his death Otto suffered the accident which left him with four actuators attached to his spine and he as Norman has no idea how much time he has to avoid that and he how to avoid it. While goblin deals with flashbacks of the past and how he really has no idea who he was before or if he really wants to know what he was like before.
Imagine if Ambrosius Osborn attended Norman's college graduation and got close to Norman, I think something like this would happen.
Ambrosius: You're finally going to get somewhere, Norman, make sure you bring honor to the Osborn name.
*Goblin comes forward*
Goblin: take his name out of your mouth!!
Otto and Curt notice what is happening and approach Norman, they are both much taller than Ambrosius and they look angry.
Rosie grabs the goblin's hand and pulls him away from Ambrosius, if either of them noticed a few tears forming in the goblin's eyes, neither of them mentioned it.
In short, I imagine Norman/Goblin singing this and for some reason if this were to take place in college, the idea would only be more attractive
I need to mention that I think the one who would be on the other side of the door would be Otto.
Why do I like the idea of Goblin being a Star Wars fan so much? as if goblin had a lightsaber stashed somewhere in the mansion, you know this is going to go on the list of things i'll add to my amnesic goblin au
I made this drawing of Otto and Norman and I think I could do more, you know like little polaroids showing things that happened during their years at University, maybe I could even put some little story under the drawing, you are welcome to try to create the story behind the photo and send me images on which to base myself to make other of these polaroid drawings
so i said i manage otto, norman, rosie, emily and curt as friends since college? i feel like norman wouldn't have many friends after starting oscorp and that the five of them would be a great group of friends, like norman, otto and curt are discussing something about science and suddenly emily and rosie arrive from their last 19th century literature class and they start talking about the subject of their class and otto, norman and curt don't understand anything
I posted this edit on tiktok but it didn't get much support so I thought I'd post it on tumblr
there is also a version of doc ock that has not had much support on tik tok either
this is the name of my tik tok account in case anyone is interested: superior_iron.man
So i was thinking about the fact that norman and goblin were probably kicked out of universe before the final fight with peter because the goblin suit was in good condition, so if norman goes back to his universe at one of those times, he could just go home and peter would never find out who the green goblin is and the green goblin would just be gone overnight
(I haven't seen 2002 Spider-Man in years so sorry if this is inaccurate)
A few days ago I found some of my old Norman Osborn drawings from when Spider-Man no way home was released and maybe because of that I spent a good few hours on AO3 reading fanfic of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies...
Elijah invites Peter for a small private dance after seeing him worn out.
He doesn't know what the reason could be. Regardless, he's a friend and he wants to cheer him up a bit.
Some sketches I've made of my Oc x Canon being Avi and Tobey's Peter for pride month 😊

MCU Pete: I think my favourite colour is red and like a dark green
Raimi Pete: can you be more specific? For example, I really like a scarlet or burgundy red.
MCU Pete: oh!! You mean like uhmm, a bright red and a forest-ish-pinetree-ish green-
Amazing Pete: -I like the blood red that spills from my slain enemies...
MCU Pete: ...
Raimi Pete: ...
Amazing Pete: oh! And blue! :D
I think my love for Raimiverse Harry Osborn stems from the fact that all the core elements of his character are kept intact. James Franco may be conventionally attractive, but Harry isn't a cool eccentric extrovert. He is shy, soft-spoken, sensitive, and dealing with emotional abuse and neglect from his father while also being clearly neurodivergent and VERY queer coded. The identity issues that stem from years of neglect, feelings of worthlessness, and mental issues he has aren't played as a joke nor demonized. I think it's the best live-action portrayal we've gotten so far.
Rewatched the Spiderman movies with my brothers and yes they took away Otto's tiddies! Nice to do a quick drawing of the grandpa husbands.
‘norman’ or should we say, goblin, proceeds to say: “norman is a wuss. you’re right otto, he woudn’t do that. but *I* would.
You know, I'm something of a scientist myself
This is how this movie went right
Can someone explain to me (genuinely) why there’s so little redesigns offered of the Green Goblin in the spider-verse fanbase or even differing variations of his design offered within the comics? The very few film media adaptations of his character (at least the ones that did their best in adapting him as a character in general) do seem to have tried to offer a new look for him, but obviously that number is very limited and still doesn’t explain why in the comics themselves or in the fandom there seems to be little attempts made to give him other looks.
This isn’t meant to be critical of his main design, I’m just not of the opinion that it’s particularly “timeless” as I’ve seen a couple redditors put it or the absolute best that can be done. Even if it’s not a bad design, I don’t understand why it’s like one of the only designs he’s given and why any alternative that is given to him hardly strays much at all from that main design.
I'm sorry, but you cannot convince me there is a single heterosexual explanation for this scene.
(This is mainly regarding the part where they're actually watching the show. Timeframe of that clip from the video is 0:59 to 1:32.)
First we get the slow zoom in towards Harry's face where he’s shown peering intently at MJ with a comical grin till he suddenly decides to turn his attention towards Peter's face in the crowd and his gaze hardness on him. (I also want to mention how he wasn't searching for his face and seemed to know exactly where to look, so that might say something.)
There's the romantic music and its lyrics in the background, that sure eventually fade off and morph into a more eerie melody but only for a moment. Because the second it returns back to the original melody it just so conveniently does when Harry looks at Peter.
There's the couple second long side profile shot of just Peter singing along to the music happily, which we know we're seeing through Harry's point of view.
And, I know this is a really small detail that might not even be noticeable and maybe not all that significant because of that. But from the looks of it, when we cut back to Harry he appears to give a small snarl... and then his expression abruptly softens. Right when the music starts to die down. And he just continues staring at Peter, even when the applause starts roaring in for MJ—the supposed girl of both of their dreams.
Like, just all around there’s such heavy subtext (whether intentional or not) provided by the simple framing of this clip.
