I am once again wondering what the fuck was in those fucking hot dogs that killed them so damn fast. I mean, in the novelization it says that they were dead before the ambulance even arrived on scene.

Like, even if it would've been "just" food poisoning by really bad meat, it should have taken at least a few hours before they died of it.

Or do the ambulances in LA just take that long to arrive on the scene?

Nothing could have prepared me for the whiplash I got when I first read the jatp novelization and found out that Alex never actually bought any pink shirts or hoodies, he just accidentally had a red sock in his white laundry, turned everything pink and decided to just roll with it.

Can someone please tell me where I can get a ripped black jeans jacket like Alex?

i don't think I'll ever get over how relynn/fleggie was supposed to be a thing but they removed it from the plot because of the age gap between Jeremy and Jadah

But imagine if Luke’s last name wasn’t actually Patterson, and the Fantom really just looked at that one scene/missing poster a little too hard.

The Phantom Whisperer (JATP)

Chapter Three: You Can See Us

The Phantom Whisperer (JATP)

Summary: After seeing Julie perform with the boys. Maddie has a lot to think about.

Maddie knew that Julie was in something way better than she could have ever imagined. Maybe this could be the day. What if she could finally find a way to reconnect with Julie. Maddie knew she needed a lot of strength to bring herself in front of Julie after nearly a year of nothing between them. This brought to the position Maddie was in now.

In the hall near the gym, Maddie paced back and forth. After the performance, she blended in with the crowd to get out. Maddie was trying to wrap her head around the whole situation. How was she supposed to just walk up to Julie. What would she even say? “Oh, hey Julie! Sorry for disappearing, how did you end up with a ghost band?” No, there was no way to just come out and say that. Julie never even knew that Maddie could see spirits, and she wasn’t sure how to explain it all now. Closing her eyes and deciding to just hold off for the moment, Maddie shook her head. Nope, not today. So, she began to make her way back to class.

Turning around the corner, Maddie came face to face with the three boys who were just on stage. Freezing in her place, Maddie held her breath. Their back was to her as they cheered together. Their excitement from playing moments ago showing through the way they jumped around. Luke, Alex, and Reggie too in their own World couldn’t see the girl standing a few feet away. Maddie got control of her feet again and started to back away slowly. Her shoes squeaked causing the boys to whip around. Three sets of eyes fell upon her mortified face.

“You! You can see us!” Alex threw his finger up pointing at her. Maddie shook her head quickly as Luke and Reggie stepped closer. “I told you guys that she looked at us.” Alex quickly looked at the boys before turning back towards Maddie. They couldn’t believe that someone could finally see them outside of Julie, and a few moments ago when they were on stage.

“No! I can’t,” Maddie screwed her eyes shut, knowing that responding confirmed it completely to the boys. They all scrambled trying to get closer as she threw her arms up stopping them. “I’m sorry, please just stay there.” Maddie let out a stressed sigh. She couldn’t so this right now. With all the Julie stuff, she wasn’t ready to jump into trying to figure out how to deal with three new ghosts who knew she could see them. Oh boy, she needed to talk to Willie.

“How can you see us?” Luke jumped in first. He was still riding the high from earlier and couldn’t help but feel this day just kept getting better and better. So many questions flowing through his head that he couldn’t keep in. “How are you able to that? Do you see other ghosts? Did you see us perform? How is this possible.”

See, this is why Maddie avoided letting other spirits know she could see them. All the questions and hope that they got always got trashed. She had no answers, and it always bad her feel worse. She knew nothing that could help them. So, it was better to steer clear.  Maddie looked at the boys seeing the exasperation in their eyes.

“I don’t know how I’m sorry.” Maddie looked down. The trio shared a look feeling confused. “Look I really need to get to class. I wish I knew more.” She quickly walked around them heading for class. Just as she was able to turn the corner, Julie walked into the hallway in front of the boys. They pushed it away for the moment to congratulate Julie. They would table the new information for now.

____________________________________________________________

After school had finally ended Maddie hastily made her way to where she knew Willie hung out often. Looking around for the long-haired boy she couldn’t see him.

“Woah! Look out Mads!” Willie road up beside her on his skateboard. His smile contagious as she smiled back. He took his helmet off and sat on the nearby bench. “How was school?”

Maddie began to pace in front of him, “Willie, I saw these three boys and they know I can see them now! What am I supposed to do?? They’re friends with Julie, what am I going to do now. It was hard enough skating around her before, but of she finds out that I can see them then I’m going to be in trouble!” Maddie threw her arms up as she rambled on. Willie stood up putting a hand on her shoulder to stop her wild movements.

“Calm down!” He moved her to sit. “Okay first off, I might have actually met one of the boys I think.” His words causing Maddie to throw her head back. She let out a groan.

“What do you mean you might’ve met one of them?” This whole situation giving her a headache. People who walked by giving her a strange look not knowing she wasn’t talking to herself. Her bad day not letting her care as she gives them a glare that kept them walking. Today was just not her day.

“Well, while you were in school, I ran into a guy, quite literally, and he might have mentioned that he played with Julie. Don’t worry! I played it cool. I haven’t met Julie so it’s not like I was completely lying to him.” Willie had heard you talk about the girl who used to be close to him, but never saw her himself. He just knew what you had confided in him about. Alex seemed like a cool person so he was sure that Maddie wouldn’t be too bad off having him see her. Willie hadn’t mentioned her at all during their conversation, but the stories lined up enough for him to know it was Alex and his friends Maddie saw.

“Willie it’s just a lot all at once, I haven’t even been able to bring myself to face Julie. What if she’s mad at me, and now since I can see her bandmates, what if this causes a bigger problem?” Maddie looked at Willie. He could see the worry written on her face. He pulled her into a hug.

“Hey, I’m sure that Julie would just be happy to have you back in her life.” He said as he rubbed her back. “Maybe, this could be the thing to bring you guys back together.” Willie tried to reason. Maddie knew that he could be right. She just needed to finally talk to Julie.

“So…….you thought he was cute huh.” Maddie didn’t even have to see Willie’s face to know he was smiling. He laughed and shoved her shoulder away. “All I’m saying is that there’s worse ghosts to spend time with.” Her words were true, not too many of the ghosts around here were their age or had a cute smile like Alex.

“I just met the guy, Mads! He’s still figuring it all out.” Willie knew that Maddie could read him like a book.

“Yeah, and maybe, he could use a little help from a not so bad looking skater guy I know.” Maddie sent him a wink, feeling her mood already lifting. These boys could maybe be good for both of them. Willie shook his head standing back up.

“You’re trouble.” He placed board down mounting it. Maddie waved him off and stood up as well. Grabbing her backpack from the ground, giving him a smile as she flung it over her shoulder.

“I keep you feeling alive,” She gave him a funny look. As Maddie began to walk away, Willie shot her a look back, seeing the humor in her words. They said goodbye as Maddie felt a bit lighter having gotten a better outlook on the situation. All she knew was that many conversations needed to happen between her, Julie, and those boys.

Author's Note: This chapter is setting up a lot for the next one, so it'll be long one. Maybe we'll see some good moments of Maddie talking to Alex about a certain crush he has.

The Phantom Whisperer

Chapter two: Maddie Makes Eye Contact

The Phantom Whisperer

Summary: A bit of Maddie's past is revealed and how her love of music came to be. Julie performs with the boys while Maddie makes a discovery

*Author's Note: Chapter two!! I hope this chapter isn't too much exposition, I promise more character interaction is coming up.

A year ago, Maddie had a different air around her. She felt as though life could get better. Most days dragged on and were filled with long school days and homework. Those were balanced out with the ones she could find solitude. Maddie had gotten a babysitting job on the occasion her neighbors needed a date night, and their aunt wasn’t available.  The Molina’s were her saving grace. When the had first moved in with a new baby and toddler, Maddie could listen to the sound of piano through her window.

One day after a trip to her latest psychologist, Maddie finally decided to go over and find the source to the music. She found a kind lady sitting in their garage lost in her melody. Rose Molina had a certain light about her that drew Maddie in. That day led to countless hours of Maddie sitting in the garage listening to anything Rose would play. She never knew music could have such a hold on her and her emotions. Rose could see how the young girl needed music in her life just as much as she did. From then on, she would teach Maddie whenever the girl stopped by. Even though Maddie loved her parents, Rose just understood her on a deeper level. Maddie’s parents stopped sending her to a doctor and instead bought her a piano.

When Rose’s daughter Julie got old enough to want to learn, they became a trio. Maddie could see how Julie was naturally gifted and would sit and watch as the mother and daughter wrote and played together. Julie felt as though she had a sister, one who she could share music with. Rose was thankful that she could pull these two girls together and loved their connection through musical notes and lyrics. Something so rare to see. But sadly, all good things come to an end.

Rose had passed, and this was felt through everyone around her. Julie couldn’t bare singing or playing anymore without her mother. Maddie had felt as though she had lost a mother and friend with Rose. It seemed easy for the two girls to drift apart. Both had gained an emptiness with the passing and couldn’t find the joy they once did. Maddie fell back into the cycle of long school days and homework. Her piano sat covered in dust and guitar stranded in the garage that she would never get the courage to go over and retrieve. Both felt lifeless now as had she. The stickers gifted by Rose still decorated the case, leaving a reminder to anyone who looked at it how loved the instrument used to be.

Unknown to Maddie, Julie had unleashed something that sparked her love for music again. Three boys who had died 25 years prior had taken up space in the garage and Julie’s life. The boys had asked Julie who the guitar belonged to since they didn’t recognize it as theirs. Julie gave it a long look before mentioning that it was an old friend's from long ago. The boys didn’t press further, even though they wanted to. They could feel the emotional pull Julie had with it.

______________________________________________________________

Maddie had a feeling today was going to be different. After her run in with the man in the street yesterday she didn’t stop by to see Willie this morning. Something felt off about the situation. Maybe he was a ghost and didn’t feel the need to deal with “lifers” as Willie called them. As she crowded in to the school assembly, she just hoped it would be over soon. Carrie was performing, and even though the girl was talented, she focused way too much into the theatrics in Maddie’s opinion. There wasn’t any depth to her music and Maddie believed that was the key to any good performer. Music just didn’t feel the same since she last saw Rose or spoke to Julie. Her bonds with music were broken and she didn’t feel the need to mend it. Sher forfeited her place in the music program to focus on school and trying to keep her parents at bay. They could see the emotional turmoil that was going on and tried to convince her that pushing away music isn’t what was good for her. That Rose wouldn’t want her to stop, but what did they know? Maddie said she knew what she was doing, or so she thought.

Just as she believed, Carrie’s performance was over the top. “What else did I expect?” She muttered to herself. Out of the corner of her eye, Maddie spotted Julie near the door. She felt her breathing stop for a second. Besides in quick passing, Maddie couldn’t bring herself to face Julie. The girl was like a sister to her, and it didn’t sit right that Julie had lost her mother while Maddie simply lost her friend. Julie had it worse and Maddie felt ashamed of herself for taking it so deep.

Maddie looked over to Julie once more and saw she wasn’t alone. She was with a group of boys. They seemed to be deep in conversation as the crowd had been sent back to class. She took another quick glance towards the group while still on the stands. Her eyes connected with the blonde boy. His eyes widened as he smacked the chest of the shorter brown-haired guy in the beanie. She quickly looked away and got up wanted to leave before Julie saw her.

“Dude! That girl was 100% making eye contact with me!” Alex exclaimed pulling the groups attention. They all turned around to find Maddie hastily making her way off the bleachers. Julie furrowed her eyebrows at her.

“What? There’s no way that she saw you.” Julie couldn’t look away. She hasn’t been able to talk to Maddie as much as she wanted to. Julie had lost a sister as much as a mother. Maddie pulling away from her broke her. She knew that Maddie felt the loss too and understood why she didn’t want to play anymore.

“No, I’m telling you, she was definitely looking at us.” Alex knew it wasn’t like when people normally look towards them and accidentally meets their eyes.

“Okay whatever! That doesn't matter right now. Julie, you need to go up their and show it to the man! That piano up here is calling your name.” Luke tried to redirect the attention towards the main goal. Julie needed to be back in the program and find her love for music again. He wanted her to know how talented she was. Maybe then their music could be heard. Julie let out a nervous breath of air and headed up towards the stage. The boys cheering her on. As the crowd realized she was singing they all gathered at the stage.

Maddie felt her heart pound in her chest as she watched the girl begin. She stood in the back and her eyes began to water. Little Julie was amazing. She knew that though, but to see her finally sing again struck a chord in her heart. She could feel Rose through every note. Maddie felt as though it was the first time that she sat in the garage with them again. But what shook her even more was when suddenly it wasn’t just Julie on stage. The boys from before appeared and began to play. The crowd went wild as they all sang and played the song with passion. Maddie had never seen a band more in sync with each other. It looked like they had known each other for years and were in tune with not just the music, but each other. Her heart swelled with pride. Julie had found her way back.

As the band finished up taking their bow, they disappeared as if it had just been Julie by herself the whole time. Maddie’s eyes widened and she spotted the boys on the side of the crowd. No one knew what to say as Julie laughed nervously.

“Was that a hologram?” one of Carrie’s crew voiced out making everyone get hyped up once again. Maddie shook her head. She had no idea what just happened, but she knew that it wasn’t a hologram. She could still see the boys from the side when it all hit her. They were ghosts.

“Oh Lord”

The Phantom Whisperer

Chapter one: Ghosts Lead To Therapy

Hello! So, this story will be a multi-part series featuring an OC Maddie. Please give me feedback, I would greatly appreciate it <3

The Phantom Whisperer

Maddie has always been able to see ghosts. What happens when she gets introduced to three boys that form a band with a girl she knows from her past?

To be completely honest, Maddie doesn’t even know how she does it. When she was four, she had met a kind man in the store after losing her mom isles away. Maddie had tugged on his sleeve with tears falling down her cheeks and asked if he could help. To the gentlemen’s surprise he felt a touch for the first time in three weeks. Maddie’s mother had run over and grabbed her up before he could even begin to understand.

Since then, Maddie would have multiple talks with her parents about the people she would talk to that they couldn’t see. A shrink here and there would help Maddie realize that no matter what she would say, they would tell her the same thing. “Maddie it’s all your imagination”, “Maddie do you really believe what you’re saying”, or her personal favorite, “Maybe you just need more attention at home”. All of this led to a simple conclusion for young Maddie, no more talking to ghosts. Or, in front of her parents at least.

So that’s where Maddie is now. A senior at Los Feliz High School, trying to keep her head down. No more music program and the less friends the better. No matter how hard she tried, no one would be permanent in her life. So, she decided it would be best to be on her own, for now at least. Maddie knew that she shouldn't waste her time on those who she felt didn't deserve it. The dead nor the living seemed to fit perfectly into her life. All she could count on was herself. Though, there was rarely an occasion Maddie would find herself an actual friend. There just so happened to be one ghost who she could call a friend. One who she would stop by to see on her walk to school. In all honesty, Maddie would take a detour to see him, forfeiting a couple minutes of her morning by taking the longer way.

"What up Madds!” the skateboarding ghoul rode up, bringing his board up to stand.

“Willie! How are you this fine morning? Sneaking into anymore museums?”  Maddie had a soft spot for the kid who died so recently. She doesn’t remember ever hearing about it on the news, but Willie filled her in on the details one day when he rode right into her on his skateboard. He was more astonished that they could touch rather than actually talk. Willie had been sworn secrecy about it. Maddie would rather not have to speak to 200 ghosts asking her to reach out to their families. One episode of The Ghost Whisperer had made her want to stay away from that field.

“Not yet, but hey, the day is still young” Willie sent a wink her way. He was the closest person to her. They would spend countless hours after school hanging around. With him either showing off tricks or her ranting about school and her parents. He understood how she’d rather be by herself rather than seek out others, he respected that. Willie himself was a free spirit (kind of). Maddie was aware how he was tied to the Hollywood Ghost Club. She felt bad that his soul belonged to Caleb, never wanting to catch a glimpse of him or have him see her, so she tried to stay as far away to the place as she could. The stories of Caleb Covington sent chills down her spine.

“Well, I would love to hear about it after I get back from school. Don’t miss me too much skater boy!” Maddie started to walk backwards only stopping to do their handshake. Willie gave her a sarcastic salute as she turned around. Maddie continued her walk as she bumped into someone. “Oh gosh I’m so sorry!” She apologized to the man before continuing. The man stood still before turning towards her.

“My apologizes Ma’am.” The dark tone not registering to Maddie as she kept walking. Willie froze as he watched the exchange. The man turned and straightened himself out before looking Willie in the eyes. “Well well well, looks like you’ve made an interesting friend.”

“Mr. Covington, um sir, I was just talking. I promise I didn't say anything,” Willie casted his eyes towards to ground. He was not one that had the courage to face the man himself. He wouldn't put Maddie in jeopardy willingly.

“Oh no Willie, I think you’ve stumbled upon something very interesting. Please do tell me more.”

Aro Characters 7/? Reggie Peters

We’re coming to a close on Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, and saved my favorite one for last, Reggie! And remember, aro headcanons can be made all year long so that doesn’t mean this series is over ;)

(and if you’re asking “hey Amanda, didn’t you already draw aro Reggie?” the answer is Yes. Yes I did.)

[image ID: a drawing of Reggie playing a light green and white bass guitar. Out of the handel of the guitar is emerging a wave of aromantic pride colors that stretches to the edge of the picture. Reggie is smiling with his mouth wide open and is wearing his typical black leather jacket and beaded necklace, along with gray t-shirt, black jeans, studded belt, a silver bracelet on his right hand, and a green bracelet on his left. The background is a light blue.]

Bi Aro Reggie headcanons because I said so 😌

tag list: @aroacethetic-shitpost @fairygclds @liamisthesun @dionysuswearsanorangetracksuit @localspacelesbian (Lizzie you are here because you appreciated my tags and Sophia you are because I just think you would like this)

Please note that anyone who comes here and tries to sexualize Reggie or any other of the characters is getting blocked on sight ❤️

The first known recorded use of the word aromantic was in 2005 (source), so sadly Reggie would have never heard about it before Incident Hot Dog.

Growing up, Reggie never quite related to his friends when they discussed their crushes. It bothered him sometimes, but he often dismissed himself as a “late bloomer” and just kinda figured he would get ~those feelings~ when he got older.

Reggie did however notice how pretty girls were. And boys too. (I think we are all in agreement he is bi already?) However, growing up in the 90s, especially if his parents were anything like Alex’s, it’s unlikely teenaged Reggie would have known much (if anything at all) about bisexuality. He focuses on his attraction to girls because he thinks that’s his only option.

When his parents weren’t fighting, they sometimes tease Reggie about being a “lady’s man” while never having a steady girlfriend. It makes him uncomfortable though he can’t really explain why. He likes hanging out with people and occasionally kissing them but doesn’t get why it has to be love? why can’t it just be fun??

Fast forward to 2020, when Julie tells the boys she’s bi, Reggie reacts like “WAIT THATS A THING”

In June the boys are all excited to go to Pride with Julie and Flynn. Reggie is mesmerized by all the different floats and flags, and asks Julie what each one means. When she tells him about aromanticism, Reggie kinda freezes and asks her to repeat herself because he’s sure he had to have misheard her. This word feels different to Reggie, important somehow.

Later that night, Reggie spends hours on Julie’s computer reading about aromanticism, bisexuality, amato and heteronormativity, and everything just kinda clicks. Like he’s seeing a part of himself clearly for the first time. He looks around and sees Julie, Luke, and Alex fast asleep. He smiles to himself, he’ll tell his friends later.
