Resenha Resident Evil: Cidade dos Mortos - S.D. Perry.
Terminei de ler semana ante-passada, mas como tava no final do semestre da minha faculdade de letras, acabei usando o tempo mais para estudar e relaxar.
Além disso, no final da semana de provas peguei um resfriado. Agora to com nariz entupido e precisando entregar dois trabalhos até dia 2/amanhã.
Bom, mas fora tudo isso, posto aqui a resenha e minhas opniões do livro 3 da S.D. Perry. (E talvez aproveito para aquecer a escrita do trabalho que tenho de terminar.)
Começando, ja destaco que este foi o meu livro favorito dentre os três na qual li até o momento. E interessantemente, foi o livro que acabou me deixando em duvida pois teve certas partes, que me pareceram não muito desenvolvidas.
No geral como adaptação do Resident Evil 2 de ps1, achei maravilhosa, pois conseguiu dar uma leve profundidade aos personagens e conseguiu desenvolvê-los de um jeito na qual só um livro ia conseguir.
A narrativa é excelente, mesmo com as leves alterações que fez na história do jogo. Apenas achei que faltou explorar os ambientes mais a fundo. Como exemplo, os enigmas e chaves dentro do jogo tiveram apenas uma leve aparição, onde serviram mais como referência do que parte da história.
Em contrapartida a história foi divertidissima de ler, sendo toda a parte nova acompanhando a Ada Wong virando a joia do livro pra mim. E não podendo esquecer a Claire cuidando da Sherry, que sinceramente foi melhor que o jogo original e o remake.
De todos personagens, só o Leon me pareceu o menos desenvolvido. Não foi ruim, ele só não tinha muito a se explorar na história, e o que tinha, sendo todo o enredo com a Ada, acabou mais pesando para o desenvolvimento de personagem dela do que o dele.
Sem Spoilar muito, recomendo extremamente ler o livro. Principalmente se é fã do jogo e essencial se leu os dois primeiros livros. Da para comprar o E-book por uns 30 reais na amazon, além de ser um dos que ainda se pode conseguir fisicamente se procurar bem.
Spoilers e umas opiniões minuciosas minhas:
- O livro ia ser ainda melhor se tivesse 50 páginas a mais.
- O Mr. X, junto com boa parte dos mutantes do jogo tiveram um papel bem menor do que gostaria.
- Diferente dos livros anteriores, não tem praticamente nenhum enigma, e enquanto fez a narrativa fluir melhor, acabou tirando um pouco o aproveitamento do cenário. (Que talvez seja irrelevante, ja que os jogos ja fazem isso perfeitamente.)
- A Ada ganhando sentimentos e imaginando um futuro onde ela se casa com o Leon e vão morar no subúrbio americano em uma casa branca com cerca me quebrou muito rsrsrsrs. Principalmente que meu irmão brincou disso antes mesmo de aparecer ksksksks.
Terminei de ler Resident Evil: Caliban Cove, da autora S.D.Perry.
E o livro é bom!
A leitura dele é bem leve e rápida, apenas umas 100 paginas. O enredo foi simples e até envolvente no final. Só achei que faltou um pouquinho mais de profundidade para os personagens, mas deixo passar pelo tamanho do livro.
Pensei em escrever umas opiniões minhas com spoiler, mas como o livro é curtinho (e eu não sei muito opinar de umas coisas pequenas dele), vou só recomendar com essa resenha pequena.
É isso. Gostei do livro, e recomendo a leitura pra quem curte resident evil, principalmente se forem ler a cronologia da S.D.Perry.
O livro tem cópias físicas, mas fora uma pagina na amazon, não tive muita sorte em achar pra comprar fisicamente. Mas, da prá comprar no Kindle por R$:31,50 também. E alternativamente, com conhecimento sempre da pra achar o PDF traduzido na internet.
No fim, recomendo a leitura. Agora to ancioso pra ler o Vol: 3 Cidade dos Mortos.

Achei uma adaptação muito fiel ao jogo original, e adorei as liberdades criativas que a autora fez. Estou ansioso para ler as sequências e ver o que rola.
Talvez eu faça uma resenha no futuro, mas no momento só vou marcar e compartilhar que li.

Leon comes home late, worn down and quiet. You’re half-asleep in your favourite PJs, waiting for him like always. He holds you like you’re the only thing keeping him grounded. And maybe you are.
˚୨୧⋆｡˚ ⋆ You’re already half-asleep, curled up in the softest blanket, wearing that cute pyjama set he always teases you about—the one that makes his eyes linger just a second longer. The apartment is quiet, peaceful, when the front door creaks open, soft enough to blend into the silence of the late night. 1:47 AM. The clock glows faintly. Leon’s home.
You roll over blinking drowsily as you hear the faint sound of his boots being kicked off and the rustling of his jacket coming off. You didn’t mean to wait up, not really. You’d just wanted to see him- wanted to feel him beside you. The bedroom door opens with a soft click, and he stands there in the dim light—exhausted, his hair messy, but still managing a small smile when he sees you curled up in your favourite PJs, waiting for him.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he murmurs, voice low and rough from the day. “Didn’t mean to wake you.” You smile into your pillow, barely opening your eyes. “You didn’t. I was waiting.” Leon sighs, almost in relief, and starts unbuttoning his shirt. “Thought you’d be asleep by now.” “I was trying to wait,” you murmur, still soft with sleep. “Wanted to say hi.”
He lets out a breath of a laugh and drops his shirt to the floor before climbing into bed behind you. The bed dips beneath his weight, and then suddenly you’re surrounded—arms sliding around your waist, his chest pressing against your back, his face nuzzling into the side of your neck.
His voice is muffled there when he whispers, “Hi.” You giggle, reaching to rest your hand on his forearm where it’s wrapped around you. “Rough day?” He hums, and you can feel it against your skin. “It was long and boring, I missed you.”
His words are warm against your neck, and when he kisses you there—just a soft press of lips to skin—you shiver. It’s instinctual, your body already relaxing into him like muscle memory. Like he’s home. Like he’s always home.
Leon shifts just enough to pull you closer, if that’s even possible, his fingers slipping beneath the hem of your pajama top to settle on your bare stomach. He’s warm, all heat and muscle and exhaustion, and he holds you like he’s afraid you’ll slip away in your sleep.“I hate coming home late,” he murmurs. “I hate not getting to spend the nights with you.” You turn your head slightly, enough to look back at him with sleep-heavy eyes. “You’re here now.”
“Yeah.” Another kiss, this one slower. “I am.” Your eyes flutter shut as he brushes his knuckles across your stomach, his other hand tracing lazy circles into your hip. His lips press another kiss to the back of your shoulder. Then your neck. Then just behind your ear.
“ Are you gonna fall asleep on me?” he whispers. “Maybe,” you breathe. “Unless you keep doing that.” He chuckled, “I missed you,” he hums. Leon wraps his arm around you tighter, pulling you even closer until there’s no space left between your bodies. His voice is soft when he speaks again—low, like a secret whispered into the night. “Love you.”
You smile. Sleepy. Safe. Loved. “Love you more.”

That’s the only word that could be used to describe the feeling of Bourbon sliding down your throat,maybe that’s why many use it to cope with the many hurdles that life throws at them.
Maybe that’s why Leon turns to it,to feel something else rather than the constant feeling of being stuck in the never ending cycle of Bio weapons.
Saving the world from the re-animated is a thankless job but hey someone has to do it right? The sights one see’s on a regular occurrence while tackling bioterrioism would drive anyone into the arms of a alcohol for some sort comfort although watching the one person you care about find comfort in such a self destructive setting is just as equally self destructive.
Trying to trace my steps back here again, so many times,I’m just a speck inside your head, you came and made me who I am
“Y’know it’s rude to stare”
Blinking out from my thoughts I’m met with what could only be described as a shit eating grin as Leon begins to raise his glass up to take a swig of what’s left
“We’ll it’s also rude to up and leave without even as much as a note and making everyone worry”
Letting out a defeated sigh and sitting in the empty chair next to Leon I reach over placing my hand against his cheek using my thumb to stroke over his cheek. Feeling Leon lean into my touch brings a feeling of comfort through my body
“I’m sorry,I just couldn’t stand standing in that building any longer than needed”
Tired. Leon sounds and looks as if he hasn’t slept in 10 years, of course it’s understandable why he’d be in a place like this,a run down bar with a few regulars spread along the main bar area while leon hides in the darkest corner of the bar with a bottle on the table to avoid social interaction.
“Gotta give it to ya,when you don’t want to be found you legit drop off the earth even Redfeild was worried”
He let out a chuckle at the thought of seeing Chris worried for the ex rookie cop.
I feel a million miles away, still you connect me in your way
Placing a hand over your hand he brings it to his lips placing a small kiss on it before bring it back into the table
“I drop off the earth yet your still the only one who ever finds me” smirking before letting out a tired sigh and leaning his head on your shoulder “thank you for y’know…still being here with me”
Letting a small chuckle out before moving his head off your shoulder you begin to stand up and get ready
“Last time I check that’s what Partners do,we stick by one another until the end”
Holding your hand out towards him you help leon to his feet while leaving bills on the table for the bar staff and begin to walk out the bar.
“Let’s go home Leon,just us two against the world amma right”
Turning to him with a genuine warm smile enough to show Leon that he wasn’t alone,that no matter what you’d be by his side through the thick of it,
He let out a content sight taking your hand in his before giving it a gentle squeeze while using his thumb to stroke the knuckles of your hands
“Us two against the world,I could get used to that”
