I’ve made a tutorial on how to color adjust to fix washed out colorings, but I noticed people aren’t always sure when their coloring needs fixing in the first place. So I’ve made a bunch of colorings you can use to compare your own to. It’s designed to help avoid whitewashing, but also help avoid over-correction.
If you’re not a content creator, you can also use this guide for reblogging as well. :)
Each set comes in three: cool, neutral, and warm. If your coloring is bluer/whiter than the cool tone, consider readjusting.
Examples of what might be too pale/bright are beneath each set
There are various categories (daytime, night scenes, etc) for each type of scene you might encounter
Each coloring has a color palette beneath for the highlights, midtones, and shadows of the character’s face. If you’re having trouble eyeballing it, use the eyedropper tool to double check.
NOTES 1) For the sake of simplicity, I’ve used one character per category, but characters of color are not interchangeable. Identify the skin tone for the character you’re coloring and work with that. This is only meant to give a frame of reference for what is and isn’t whitewashing 2) If any of the colorings look different than what they’ve been stated as (i.e. the cool tones look too warm or some look way too dark to be visible) calibrate your monitor. It means your screen color and gamma needs readjustment.

My face is having uncontrollable spasms. Great. It hurts really, really, really bad.
I think part of why I have trouble explaining pain to the doctor is when they ask about the pain scale I always think “Well, if someone threw me down a flight of stairs right now or punched me a few times, it would definitely hurt a lot more” so I end up saying a low number. I was reading an article that said that “10” is the most commonly reported number and that is baffling to me. When I woke up from surgery with an 8" incision in my body and I could hardly even speak, I was in the most horrific pain of my life but I said “6” because I thought “Well, if you hit me in the stomach, it would be worse.”
How are you feeling? You don’t know? Me neither! So I look at this chart several times a day (got reminders set on my phone) to check in on how I’m feeling throughout the day. I’ve been doing it for a few months, and it’s actually getting a lot easier to identify how I’m feeling.
Pro tip: some people have to rely more on how their body feels to tell them what they’re feeling emotionally. Work on trying to identify how certain emotions feel in your body. Work in broad strokes at first, before working on identifying more specific emotions. For example, try to notice how sad, happy, angry, and afraid feel. Where in your body do you feel them? What physical sensations go along with the emotions? It’s different for everyone!
The more often you practice, the better you’ll get at it. This is all straight from my therapist and it’s how I’m finally feeling my feelings after years of dissociation.
This site comes recommended by a friend of the blog, and oh boy does it look useful! Since it’s meant for use by doctors as well, the information it will give you doesn’t go through the kinds of “for the patient” filters you’d see on sites like WebMD.
The interface is clean and simple, and once you’ve gotten a list of conditions and selected one to investigate, it opens an on-the-page window for you with the Merck Manual’s entry. There’s in-depth data, a quick-view of the highlights of the condition, and there are even links out to other providers like Mayo Clinic, Medline, WebMD, Google, and more.
What’s particularly nice is that when you’re done looking at one condition, you can click “back to results” to get straight back to the list.
This one seems to do a good job of pulling up the common but quote-unquote rare diseases in the list, which certainly makes it feel a little more trustworthy.
Nonbinary folks, do note that it requires you to enter a binary gender.
Do people know about Vocational Rehab? If you're USAmerican they have this in every state.
It's a program that helps disabled folks access education, training, and employment. For FREE.
You only have to be disabled to qualify (autism, ADHD, mental illness, physical illness, etc) and they cover very broad categories of disability. You do NOT have to be officially diagnosed yet when you walk in - they will even help pay for your diagnosis if you are struggling w disability.
I applied with my suspected autism and fibromyalgia, and they paid for 100% of my formal autism assessment.
Once your disability is established they will give you career counseling to learn about your interests and skills, and depending on the plan you create with your caseworker they will then help with school or finding employment. They paid for 100% of my college tuition and books, and even provided a laptop for me to use.
You do not have to pay anything for this program. If you make above a certain income, you will have to contribute to educational costs but will still receive assistance.
They will also help with the cost of things like mental health counseling while you work towards your goals, clothing for interviews, etc.
They cannot discriminate based on your race, gender, or sexual orientation.
They won't make you do excessive meetings.
They will allow you to do meetings with your caseworker remotely.
They will not drug test you.
They want you to succeed.
I'm sure that individual experiences vary but my caseworker was exceptionally easy to work with and very kind.

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping
Hey y’all! Have a gift! I didn’t create this. It was coded by my son, Kitlith. He came up with the idea to help me, and we both thought others could be helped by this tool as well.
A few disclaimers first: 1. This will only work completely for the person who CREATED the sim the tool is used on. It will not be able to identify CC you do not have.
2. This will only work if your CC is installed as .package files.
3. Most of the testing for this has been done on a PC running Windows 7 (my computer). We had at least one person test on Windows 10, but it’s possible there will be issues with other operating systems that we haven’t encountered yet.
4. We have written a text file that accompanies this tool, with instructions, and edited for clarity. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
5. There is a link in the text file to the source code on GitHub, and THAT is where you should report any issues you encounter with this tool. You can message me about it, but chances are I won’t be able to help you. My son is the programmer, not me. ^-^;; He doesn’t use Tumblr.
6. Last, but by no means least, this tool will be easiest for you to use if you are using CC magic for your CC. However, instructions are included for altering the search folder if you are NOT using CC magic. So again, please read the instructions.

For any TS3 simmers who use NRaas Tempest and are unaware of this mod, I want to share one of my favorite game tweaks that I lost and just recently found again yesterday. Made by GCirelli at the NRaas site, this tuning file contains custom weather profiles for almost every EA world (minus a couple of the newer ones). The creator based these profiles on the climate in comparable real world locations, and every detail from the morning, noon, evening, and night temperature ranges to the chance of fog, hail, rain, snow and sun has been individually set to correspond with the average forecast for that real world place for each of the four seasons. So with just a couple of clicks in the NRaas Tempest menu, you can quickly and effortlessly have warm tropical sunshine in Sunlit Tides, gray foggy drizzle in Moonlight Falls, or dry desert heatwaves in Lucky Palms.
For anyone interested, you can download the tuning file HERE and the instructions on how to enable it HERE. As these are exported NRaas settings, the package needs to go in your Library folder, and I believe you will also need NRaas Overwatch to import it. If you have any trouble getting it to work, feel free to send me a message or an ask, and I will try my best to help. :)

Hey guys! Those of you who’ve followed me for a while already know I get anxiety, caused by anything from too much sugar, any amount of caffeine, or having to talk to someone in the grocery store. So I wanted to share this lovely thing I’ve found to help deal with it!
This is Morpheus, my sleepy time anxiety companion. (Isn’t he cute?) I found a mention online and these guys are meant to help address anxiety and sleep issues! Here’s how it works.
There’s a little egg in his tummy, when I hit the button Morpheus starts to pulse out a heartbeat rhythm. What’s really cool about this is lots of studies show that our heartbeats will slow down and match another heartbeat. So the beat will start measured and a bit loud (this is relative, you can’t hear or feel the pulse without touching the plush friend directly). Slowly it gets softer and further apart. When the button is pressed it goes through a 20 minute cycle. Generally I take about 45+ minutes to fall asleep as my mind decides that sleepy time is the best time to worry and fret over problems, but now I often fall asleep before the cycle completes.
Morpheus has also been a help during full blown panic attacks, my breathing and heartbeat will start to match his almost immediately, which is more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m sure that results may vary, but if you have anxiety, panic attacks, or trouble sleeping, you can find them here. (They also come in puppy friends!) They ship from Japan, and all instructions are in Japanese, but he was so simple to use, it hasn’t been a problem, but you might have to wait a bit for your own sleep time friend.
