Things I wanna see less in fantasy~
Female protagonists having the best character arcs and personal growth only to lose their powers for the "greater good". Like? Let them be happy WITH POWERS?? ALINA'S LIGHT??? AELIN'S FIRE???? NESTA'S DEATH MAGIC??? TESSA'S SHAPE-SHIFTING??
The acotar fandom is so toxic like there's ignorance of characters' trauma, stupid excuses for characters' actions, so much sexism, so much slut shaming, domesticating literally every female charcter, MiSoGynY, promoting toxic masculinity, glorifying and sexualizing EvErYtHiNg etc.
I'm just happy with Aelin, Dorian, Manon, Elide, Yrene, Chaol, Abraxos, Nesryn, Fenrys, Lysandra and Rowan birdy. Like look at them. They're adorable.

I'm an enemies to lovers trope person all the way. The only exception being Percabeth. You can't not love them.

Okay so this scene in heir of fire where the Valg are in Celaena's head and she's reliving all of her worst memories. She's broken and she's accepting the pain that Sam and Nehemia are giving her because she thinks she deserves it as she failed them. And then she goes to a scene where she sees her parents and Sam and Nehemia and Aelin and they all ask her to get up, but she can't. And one by one they all start calling her a traitor but Aelin keeps sitting beside her, reaching her arm out. I think it signifies really beautifully how everyone ends up hating Celaena for some reason or the other and she accepts their hate even though she loves them. But Aelin always stays with her. She stays even when everyone else's words turn to poison. And that moment when she decides to take Aelin's hand is when Celaena Sardothien dies. Samlaena happy ending besties<3
“You can call me Rowan. That’s all you need to know.” He cocked his head to the side, a predator assessing prey. “Thank you for the oil,” he added. “My skin was a little dry.”
He never specified that only you had to wear it.
Her throat tightened and she shook her head.

I think they would have liked you more than me, actually.” Her throat tightened. “I never told you—how I felt. But I loved you, and I think a part of me might always love you. Maybe you were my mate, and I never knew it. Maybe I’ll spend the rest of my life wondering about that. Maybe I’ll see you again in the Afterworld, and then I’ll know for sure. But until then … until then I’ll miss you, and I’ll wish you were here.”
if this isn't the most painful eulogy and confession I've ever read.
