Last night, I attended the opening of the Spring Group Show at the Solomon Fine Art Gallery, 2 Balfe St., Dub 2 D02 T802. The venue was packed. There was a wide range of paintings, etchings and sculptures in a variety of medium on view. Most of the sculptures were bronze. Many of the paintings were mixed-medium. It was a refreshing exhibition with lots of new artworks. This show will run until 29th Apr 2023.

Today I walked around St. Petersburg. I really liked the architecture, most of it is dominated by the classical style. Well, not to the extent yet, where I went, I like Baroque more - a very magnificent and solemn style in contrast to restrained classicism. But a large number of buildings have been restored and are still being restored, and it is hoped that their original structure has been preserved or will be preserved during the restoration. I really wanted to go to one of the temples and admire the architecture and oil paintings on the walls and ceilings of cathedrals. I was very impressed with the masts and the structure itself, and the location of the city. You can't get lost in this city, because all the streets there are almost parallel and perpendicular.

Today I passed by the theater and I liked the view, that’s why I decided to take a photo of it; also, the sculptures on its roof look very majestic!

To me, waste is just lack of imagination. This belief carries beyond the boundaries of my art production and permeates most aspects of my life. Most of my home and studio, and much of everything in them, is recycled.
I’ve always had an epic imagination along with a driving desire to make things. Thus, used objects have pared my options down to a workable, manageable level. No object is beyond artistic merit, meaning and metaphor. So why throw it out?
The materials of my work are connected intrinsically to my ideas, be they tailored beyond recognition or left as found. Each piece I make resurrects an object as an idea specific to the material and the meaning inherent in its use. The history of the object from the manufacture to the dumpster embellishes its contexts and the possibilities I have to manipulate them. I have often made a connection with the objects that I’ve used in my everyday life or work experience: that which I know.
