I attended the opening of John Short's exhibition 'Horizons' at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 tonight. The venue was packed.
I enjoyed viewing John's loose and spontaneous paintwork. He painted his paintings with watercolours and ink while including collage in some of them. My favourite paintings were wide and panoramic.
He had included four large ceramic pieces in his exhition. It was nice to see that he was trying a new medium to work in.

My favourite artworks in John's exhibition. His exhibition will run until Sat 24th May 2025.
I attended the packed opening of Kenny Mc Kendry' exhibition 'Rathlin, Portrait of an Island and Other Works' at the Gorry Gallery, 20 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2. Kenny's paintings had a lovely sense of light in them. Many if them seemed to glow especially the seascapes. His portraits had plenty of personality. The faces well observed. His exhibition will run until 11th Apr 2025.

I also attended Neal Greig's opening at Gormleys, 27 Fredrick Street South, Dublin 2 D02 EP03 which was just as enjoyable. His exhibition of rugged and wild seascapes were full of energy and a pleasure to view. However, I loved his three paintings 'June River Butonne', 'Dream Lake' and 'Butonne River'. They were peaceful and, to my eye, evoked scenes of the Mangrove Swamps in and around Florida. Neal's show will run Until 29th Oct 2024.
