1) Scry Half Asleep
Go to a quiet place, and dim the lights.
Close your eyes and ask your higher power a question.
Pay attention to what you see. Names… numbers… faces… dates.
Once the visions stop, open your eyes and note them down.
After a few days, see if and how they manifested.
I once saw an old clock and heard the word “Praha”. I ended up being sent to Prague on a fully paid trip unexpectedly.
At first, your visions will mean nothing. They will be shallow. A McDonald’s signage… A TV commercial… This is your intuition warming up. Soon enough, it will be sprinting. As long as you keep going.
2) Designate People to Tarot
To a beginner, the characters in tarot can feel out of reach and intimidating. Bring them down to earth.
Does Strength remind you of your mother? Is she calm and fearless in the face of danger?
Does The Fool remind you of Harry Potter? Is he young and untrained, but rich in nerve and courage?
Do you see yourself in the Seven of Pentacles? Always planting seeds that are never quite ripe enough for harvest?
The next time you read tarot, you will not be seeing strangers, but people you know by heart. This is how your intuition can connect to the cards.
3) Record Your Dreams
Keep a journal on your nightstand.
The moment you wake up, write down what you remember. No matter how meaningless, no matter how strange.
Did you see yourself naked in public? Or late for class? Perhaps falling from a building? The theme here is fear.
Did you see a younger version of yourself? In a playground? Maybe eating a snack no longer sold today? The theme is nostalgia.
Analyze your own dreams. Research them further if you like.
This is you bridging the gap between your conscious and subconscious. This is you taming your intuition.
4) Know People’s Zodiac Signs
Be curious about your teachers’, superiors’ and peers’ astrological personality, even if only through their Sun sign.
Watch how the Air signs harmonize with Fire, yet clash with Earth and Water.
See how a Scorpio is quietly strong in her intensity, while an Aries is loud with his.
Life is complicated, and people are complex. But if you can understand their basic instincts, you will make fewer foes and more friends.
More importantly, your intuition will be able to warn if a person wishes you harm.
5) Devour Literature
For all the intricacies of life, every feeling that has ever been felt has already been recorded.
See movies. Read books. Really hear the words. Really watch the gestures.
Understanding characters is a step to understanding people, which ultimately leads to understanding yourself.
It will help you realize that your intuition is not some external being that is difficult to grasp. You will find that it and you have always been one right from the start.
There’s a saying: “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.” Yes, it refers to sociology and capitalism and all that stuff. But it also refers to you.
When you act poor, you stay poor. When you act rich, you stay rich.
Acting poor means you avoid treating yourself because, what if you run out of money?
It means you never travel to other countries because, what if you one day need those funds for hospitalization?
It means you can't be bothered to give to the less fortunate, because you think you are the less fortunate.
That is the place of lack. And when you’re there, you will never have enough.
By “acting rich”, I don’t mean pretending to have more than you do so that other people would think highly of you. That’s a place of lack too.
By “acting rich”, I mean treating yourself every now and then, because you trust that money will come find you when you need it.
It means traveling the world if you want to, because you trust that the Universe will provide for your other needs.
It means sharing what you have, because you know that you are blessed and that your blessings are protected.
That is the mindset of abundance. And with it, you will always attract more than enough.
So ask yourself... where are you, usually? The place of lack, or the place of luck?
Every spiritual belief — from established ones like Christianity, to modern ones like the Law of Attraction — encourages you to be positive. “Look at the bright side of things!” “Be grateful for what you have!” “Like attracts like, so never be negative!”
But you’re human. You can’t always be happy.
Of course you’re allowed to feel and say negative things, both to yourself and to people you trust.
The trick is to make sure you acknowledge that your negative situation is temporary.
When I’m going through a hard time, and someone asks me if I’m fine, I say, “I will be.”
I don’t lie and say I’m okay. That’s how wounds stay wounds — when you don’t admit they’re there.
But I also don’t declare defeat. Because for as long as I’ve been alive, I’ve won every single challenge life sent me. Haven’t you? Trust your track record.
To become a powerful witch, an effective manifester, or simply, a happy person… that’s the key.
Don’t say, “I’m so tired!” Say, “I’m so tired, so I will rest to feel better.”
Don’t say, “I’m fucking broke!” Say, “I need money, and I know it’s on its way to me.”
Don’t say, “My life sucks!”. Say, “Life hasn’t been easy, but things are about to change.”
Don’t pretend your pain isn’t there. Acknowledge it. Then acknowledge that it will pass, and it will.
