I love how an almost 2 minute trailer of my favorite show comes out and the first thing I post is the sex scene…

Okay in all seriousness i’m FREAKING out so i’m gonna rant.

• I’m so glad Maddie convinced Simon she was real and not a delusion. ALSO, now all of the characters are in on the mystery??? I’m screaming. How TF did Maddie convince him after all that BS???

• I still have so many questions. Like, why and who was CHOKING Xavier??? Why is he always catching Ls 😭😭

• We get to see Wally’s death???? So hey.. i wasn’t ready for that…! I wonder if we’ll see Rhonda and Charley’s as well?

• In some of the trailer clips Wally and Simon are in the same room. I actually really wanna see them communicate somehow. I’d love to see their dynamic. (mostly because Simon is obviously gonna be pissed off)

• I’m so sure Mr. Martin killed Janet and maybe some of the other ghosts. He is so shady there’s NO way it was an accident.

• Is Maddie going to get her body back?? If she does, there’s no way she can be with Wally 🙁. At first i thought the kiss in the teaser was just heat of the moment but now they’re getting FREAKY???? (i’m not complaining at all). Also we finally get to see Wally out of those crazy ass sweats. Thank the lord 🙏🙏🙏

I feel like bismuth is determined and stubborn enough to go against the gems and return to homeworld anyway and try to kill off the remaining diamonds.(Just look, she almost killed Steven ,an ally, in a fit of rage over him not agreeing with her). The gems KNOW bismuth and that her running off was definitely a possibility which is why they don't want to risk her harming herself or others by leaving her unbubbled. Also, you have to question why she was bubbled the first time around. Clearly the other CG's didn't know she was bubbled or where she'd went. Only Rose knew what happened and to me, for Rose to do something as drastic as bubbling her friend and not telling any one else speaks volumes of how dangerous/unpredictable Bismuth can be.

Sorry, no, Rowling knew what she was doing with Snape. She wrote this character a specific way. Also, strictly, she didn't "forgive" Snape. We only see Harry move on from his hatred, that is part of his growth and character development, not Snape's. JKR is well aware that Severus is not a completely good (or completely bad) character - because she wrote him that way! Canon is canon, even and especially if you disagree with it.

You can think what you think, I’m not going to force you to hate Snape

But, even though J.K. said he was in the grey area, she also said he did die to save the wizarding world, implying that, basically, that one act pulls him from “dark” to “grey”

And I mean, yes, that was a big thing. But also, Snape was so obsessed with Lily that he made her his life, despite being a bigoted and racist towards her. So when she died, do you really think Snape wanted to keep living?

It’s almost like the sith (yes, I’m making a Star Wars reference). But imagine that the Empire is the good guys, the Resistance are like Voldemort’s followers, and Snape is Anakin

Snape grew up loving dark magic. He automatically gravitated to The Future Death Eater’s of Slytherin House™

[Parallel: Anakin was raised to be a Jedi, a good guy. He was raised to fight the sith]

Voldemort then killed Lily. Snape was devastated. He didn’t start disliking all the dark magic and the mass killings and the innocents dying, he started disliking the thought that Lily was dead. He then went to Dumbledore.

[Parallel: Anakin thought Padme was in danger. He then turned to the Dark Side because they said it would keep her safe. He didn’t - at first - start hating the Resistance, just wanted to keep Padme safe, and so what if it was with the bad guys]

The love of Snape’s life was dead. He was probably so lost, and probably borderline suicidal. And considering how long he hung on to Lily (since they were kids all the way into adulthood) I doubt he’d be able to get over that depression anytime soon

Yes, he made the choice to die for the Good Guys™ but part of me thinks he wasn’t, like, completely devastated that he might die. And after what Voldemort did to Lily, do you really think he would die for his cause?

And can we also talk about the fact that he tortured the students that weren’t in Slytherin.

I mean, yes, he needed to make sure Voldemort didn’t suspect he was a double agent yadda yadda yadda, but he was horrible

He could have just messed with house points, or favored Slytherin, or been unfair with grades, or even just given out detentions. I mean, we’ve all had bad teachers who were unfair or mean or had stupid rules

But Snape bullied students. Don’t even try to deny it. Like when Hermione had the spell cast that made her teeth grow and he said he didn’t see a difference. There were probably a lot more events that happened that we didn’t even see

And can we talk about Neville’s boggart?

Neville could’ve had so many fears. Bellatrix, for one. The person that tortured his parents into insanity.

Maybe even his aunt, who was constantly beating him up about not being a better wizard or living up to the Longbottom name (she could’ve been like Hermione’s boggart being failing an assignment be like her fear of failure/expulsion/going back to a normal life knowing she’s a wizard)

Maybe his uncle or someone (remember, Neville was hung out of a window in an attempt to make his magical powers appear, and there were a lot of other happenings similar to that)

Heck, Neville was scared of a lot (he was frickin’ brave as heck, don’t get me wrong), yet his boggart was his potions teacher

Who he only saw for a fraction of his day, and not even every day, if I remember correctly.

Snape. Bullied. The. Students.

He was horrible to them. Yes, I won’t deny that, even with what I stated above, giving his life was a huge thing. And he did do a lot of things for Dumbledore and everything.

But he was still a horrible person. And his motives weren’t good. His motive was being overly obsessed with a girl.

Yeah, sure, aw it’s so sweet he still loved her “after all this time” et cetera, et cetera, but can you honestly look at Snape’s love for Lily and everything and tell me that’s healthy?

If we’re talking about soley what Snape has done for Voldemort and the Death Eaters vs. Dumbledore and the Order, sure, we could say he was in a grey area

And I know Harry eventually forgave Snape enough to be okay with him (his naming his son after Severus was, and I’m paraphrasing J.K., not just to honor Snape, but to try and justify that he could be forgiven himself for the deaths at the Battle of Hogwarts)

And yes, Snape gave Harry information to help with winning the war. He wasn’t completely bad. I admit that. But Harry is going to link winning the war, at least partially, with Snape

So of course he would be somewhat redeemed in Harry’s mind.

But if we’re talking about who Snape was as a person (which is what I was referencing to and what I assumed J.K. was referencing to) then I think he is almost all black

But again, you can think whatever you want, I’m not going to force you to believe what I believe

aftg floor plans

not that anyone asked but the way my brain works means that any time i read anything, i am piecing together every room, every house, and every space. i need to create an image in my head so i can see the characters in it and see how they interact with the space. except it’s always vague and sometimes a throw-away line places a window or a wall where i didn’t think it was and i have to redo the entire space in my head…… it’s a struggle but after so many times rereading aftg, i have a pretty solid idea

this is just a long way of saying i have decided to take what’s in my head and make it into reality and i have made floor plans for aftg lol

so far, i have done the foxes’ dorm (both how i think the entire floor is laid out and each of their three rooms), wymack’s apartment, and abby’s house. i plan on doing the cali places later, don’t even worry

of course tumblr is corrupting the quality but in my head there are five rooms to each side of the hall and the stairs are right next to the monsters' room. that stray white box is an elevator supposedly.... i had no idea how or where the elevator should be so i just kinda threw it there, don't laugh. and we know the soccer kids live on their floor so they have the rooms across the hall

i placed everything based on descriptions gathered from the first four books (thank you jean for telling us they do in fact have stoves even if they are just two burners). i gave kevin's desk an extra monitor to watch games on lol and andrew has to be by a window to smoke out of it. also, the beds are bunked. i know this looks big but it was hard to get the spacing right..........

for the girls, i mirrored the monsters' room because i know that piping tends to make apartments laid out so kitchens or bathrooms are back to back with your neighbors. they also get a fancy extra chair and a bigger tv bc allison is rich and you can't tell me their room wouldn't have the nicest furniture. i feel like dan would have the bottom bunk, renee the top, and allison the lone lofted bed but that's just me lol

we know matt and neil shoved their three desks by the windows and in my head, matt and neil's bunk is on the left while seth's lofted bed is on the right. and matt and neil have their dressers underneath seth's bed and his is by the window

this was actually interesting because we know that the front door is out of sight from the doorway of the study and that there are windows in the living room so i put in this turn to the hall. again, the space looks huge here but that's mainly because i didn't want to have to shrink and rearrange all the walls over and over again

abby's was the hardest by far. i went back and scoured the books for more information about her house because i was struggling and have struggled with it since my first read through. we know that there is a doorway to the kitchen (so i couldn't give her the open floor plan i wanted) and that the bedroom jean stayed in was just down the hall from the bathroom. i ended up giving abby her own master bath just because i felt like it but i have no idea if that is canon. and the hall bath seemed too large so i put in a laundry room randomly but whatever. we also know she has a two car driveway so i made the shape of the house a little funky. and in my head, during summer break aaron and nicky stay in one bedroom and andrew and kevin are in the other one. i put kandrew in the bedroom down the hall because it is farther from the front door and andrew would like that imo. that is also the bedroom jean is in after renee takes him from evermore. and of course she needed a huge dining room table to fit everyone

ANYWAY, if you made it this far i am surprised and thank you for entertaining this. i can also share all the passages i used to piece together these floor plans cause they are all bookmarked but that felt like too much to include here and i doubt anyone cares. feel free to debate wall placements in the comments, i would love to talk to you about it as you can probably tell

and if literally anyone is interested, i can and will make these in the sims and then they will be real cute and colorful floor plans. i will probably do it anyway for my own enjoyment but whether i post them is up in the air

I’m sorry, I may just be a bit oblivious but I don’t actually get what you’re trying to imply here 😅 especially because in my mind these are two very different characters.

Mainly because from point one it’s obvious Jason doesn’t want to be doing the things he’s doing which contrasts with max who seems to revel in it and so has a much more stark difference between his terrible behavior and his redemption.

I think it should also be mentioned that (imo) Jason isn’t really a character who gets “redeemed”. (Hear me out!) From my understanding redemption is when you do something truly truly bad, make up for it, and learn to be a better person. Jason barely fulfills the truly bad thing by hanging with max and doing his bidding (but as I said above he doesn’t want to be doing any of it in the first place) but his “redemption” is a bit overshadowed by the fact that he tells Richie that if max ever came back he’d go right back to bullying. Now even though max’s redemption is also overshadowed by a return to his evil doings I think it’s really important to mention that Jason just randomly says he’d return to bullying if max ever came back. Whereas max has a more character reason to make his decent back into evil (mainly getting hurt, and pissing his pants. Which are both embarrassing things and we know he has a problem with his dad humiliating him)

In your tags you mentioned that you didn’t think screen time had to do with this, but I actually think it does. And the reason I think this is because of Kyle. Now idk about anyone else but I often don’t remember much about this character. (I had to look up his name just now.) and to me that’s because he hardly does anything in the show. So it would make sense to me if Jason, who is in the show less than max but more than Kyle, would get less attention from the fandom than max, but more than Kyle. And while I know that people love taking random background characters and making them the fandom favorite. I don’t actually think that Jason really fulfills what a typical fandom wants to see which is mainly toxic sad boys. (Which Jason is not imo. Other than the whole “we’re gonna return to bullying” he’s pretty healthy and happy)

I’m sure there are more in depth reasons but that’s the one that came up to me.

(edit: I looked back at your tags and saw that this is about race, which is totally fair. I’m not going to claim that isn’t what’s happening here since I haven’t really looked at the fandom from that point of view. Feel free to disregard this entire reblog 😝)

Jason Jepson is literally everything the fandom wants Max to be (kind of dumb, gets redeemed and turns out to be actually really sweet, cares a lot about his friends, makes up with the nerds he bullied, hell he even likes Grace). But yet the fandom still favours Max more. I wonder why that is! Hmmm, I wonder what the difference between these two could be!

I’ve been seeing some people talk (saw a comment somewhere by @feldspursfiyero ) about Fiyero’s behavior and choices, in particular how his depression and love for animals tie into one another and what his potential backstory is. I have a few things in mind that I’ll jot down here since I haven’t seen too many posts out there about Fiyero’s life before Wicked.

To start, it is obvious that Fiyero is a prince and the heir to the throne. From what we know in real life, being the Crown Prince was never an easy role. Though, I do find it interesting that Fiyero’s choice to act out is more along the lines of the behavior of a modern spare (Margaret, Harry etc) whose life feels directionless in the shadow of their older sibling’s glory. Historically and realistically, the heirs have been relatively good at containing their feelings and attitudes towards their position, but for Fiyero I think there are more layers to why he, the eldest child and the heir, has the personality traits that he has.

More under the cut because I don’t wanna clog the feed. This became longer than I thought 🙃

I do believe there was a time where Fiyero was able to be himself and allow himself to be loved and seen. Being a Prince, his life was dictated by strict protocol and rules by default, but there was once a time where he could breathe and let loose. That’s why he still has the innate ability to know and feel himself deep down, but events in his life have taught him to hide them.

From the Shiz Gazette online (and the books), we know his parents are Baxiana of Upper Fanarra and Marilott, Chieftan of the Arjikis. In my headcanon, his mother is the queen regent, the royal one and his father is the Ozian equivalent of a nobleman. He has a younger sister four years his junior named Arrietta with whom he is very close (she’s my OC).

Having not been raised in the rigid royal structure, Marilott taught his children that there was more to life than rules and appearances. Even if he couldn’t shelter them from their position, he made sure that they got to experience a taste of more “normal” things. Even if Baxiana saw them as her successors, Marilott saw them as his children. Most, if not all, of Fiyero’s happiest memories involved his father.

His death hit Fiyero very hard and is the main catalyst to his evolution into the man we see in Wicked. With him died the carefree boy Fiyero once was. Being fourteen, it came right around the time where he was expected to formally begin to prepare for royal duties and his mother was very strict with him. She had no patience with his slower progression in his studies (which I headcanon to be a combo of dyslexia and adhd) and implemented a stricter study regime, which inadvertently made it worse. He began to develop feelings of inadequacy and low self esteem about his abilities to be a ruler and began to yearn for his mother’s approval. Even if there were times where she was satisfied, she didn’t outwardly show it. Why would she, when royals weren’t expected to show emotion? Every social interaction was a transaction, one where nobody cared about anything but a satisfying end result.

Feeling trapped by his mother, his destiny, and his internal turmoil, Fiyero began to act out. Having partaken in an increasing amount of public events, he became aware that his people were enamored by him. Everytime he ventured beyond the castle walls, he would find crowds of people his age following his every step, listening to his every word. If he could garner attention simply by existing, maybe he could gain their respect by giving something to admire. After all, who could resist being royalty AND being cool?

The Winkie Prince was seen at almost every night club in Winkie Country and Oz, dancing the night away in the middle of the dance floor, winning the heart of every lucky Ozian to be graced by his presence. Every time he was expelled from university, angry students would petition the board to revoke their decision. When they didn’t, his classmates would gather and bide him tearful farewells. The expulsions didn’t both him one bit because wherever he went and wherever he would end up next, he would have an admiring crowd that he could entertain with abandon. That is, until he meets a special girl at Shiz…

Now here is where the real Fiyero fits in as well as the Animals. Yes, things may have been bleak for him, but there were only two places he felt the most safe: Arrietta and the Animal staff at the castle.

Despite his facade being so convincing that even Fiyero himself forgot it wasn’t real, there were times where his old emotions would bubble to the surface. When he was younger, he would burst into tears and as he grew, he would sulk in his hiding spots throughout the castle. Of course, his sister would find him and the two would often sit together, some times in silence and other times, listening to eachother’s woes. She was the only human after their father’s death who loved him for who he was and she was the only person he could be himself with. She had similar worries, but instead of acting out, she turned inward and grew to be an intelligent but shy young woman. She never told him this to make Fiyero more worried than he already was, but she secretly wanted her “old” brother back. The carefree boy who would tease her until she cried, joked until she laughed, and tell stories until she fell asleep.

His other source of comfort, the Animals, are the reason many years later, Fiyero stands up to the injustice against them. The Winkies were known for their deeper connection with nature and Animals, which is why they are so prominent in culture, politics, and trade in their country. The royal family was no different and many of the staff at the castle were Animals, including Fiyero’s governess, tutors, and personal guard. He was most fond of his governess, a kind panda named Palina who stayed with the royal children until Fiyero left for his first university. Even in retirement, she would write letters to her former charges, who never failed to write back. While he was away, she was his safe space, her warm and fuzzy hugs replaced with warm and encouraging words of ink. His tutors, despite instructions from Baxiana to be more strict with his curriculum, had empathy for the prince’s learning struggles and would try various methods to help him learn. They also understood the importance and value of encouragement and would give him small praises and rewards for completing tasks on time or correctly. Fiyero never understood why humans couldn’t be as good teachers as animals and attributed the former’s lack of empathy for their spartan methods.

Finally, Fiyero met Feldspur completely by accident! He had been hiding in one of his hiding spots in the royal stables (which were more like suites for the Horses) when one of the mares found him in the corner of her suite. She knew him and he knew her, so it hadn’t been awkward but she thought she would cheer the teen up by introducing her colt Feldspur to him. At first, the two didn’t see eye to eye, as Feldspur didn’t know why a prince would be unhappy and Fiyero didn’t know why the young horse asked so many questions, but the two eventually warmed to eachother when Fiyero realized that Feldspur actually listened to him. Even if he wasn’t human and wasn’t Fiyero’s age (in animal years haha), he listened intently and the questions that bothered him were asked with curiosity and care, not mocking or ignorance. Fiyero had eventually forgotten why he had been in the stables in the first place, having made a new friend that was on the same level as him. The two quite literally grew up together (and ate grass together in the process) and share a deep friendship that goes beyond a prince and his noble steed.
