About me: I am 21 years old and I’m into a lot of things. My name one here is armchairthinker is mostly because the  knowledge comes from credible sources I find on my couch 😂 (Trey the Explainer, North 02, Biblaridion, etc)
I won’t be saying I’m an expert but someone who has some common sense.
I’m also a writer and planning to show off what I got.
I am into world building and speculative evolution/fantasy. So most of my topics will be on that. I am also into paleontology.

How do you calm down when excited? (asking for advice)
Okay, so, I figured I'd ask my fellow autistics for advice.
So I may be seeing my special interest irl at some point. But it's like... I physically cannot view content of the special interest without having to jump up and hand flap while running around my room. Even thinking about it triggers it. I just love it so much. It makes me that happy.
But I have no idea how I will manage it in public, while looking at my f***ing special interest right there in my face. I seriously think I'll have a heart attack for something. The happiness will just be... Aggghhhh I can't even explain it in words.
So, what can I do to try to calm myself so I don't explode when I see them? Preferably nothing too obvious because my family will be there and I don't want to embarrass or shock them by stimming. I know I'll be sweating and blushing like mad.
TLDR: I might be seeing something that makes me VERY happy and I need to know ways to calm down that would be somewhat socially acceptable.

I’m crying of happiness right now. I just got the news that almost all Latin American Spanish dubbed episodes of Utena have been found. From the dubbed ones only episode 26 and 28. Episodes 30-39 are still missing, but they were never aired and probably don’t exist at this point. I’m so indescribably happy.
The dub is so bad, but it makes me so happy.

Recently I had a friiend share a song they had wriitten and uploaded onliine, they gave me the liink and I liistened to iit and nearly exploded. Now before I wrote thiis I made sure they were chiill wiith me wriitiing iit. The song iis called Home by Now, whiich was composed and wriitten by Fontanelle. Now I HIGHLY recommend you go liisten to the song yourself because iit's amaziing and whiile I wiill be rantiing about how good iit iis, readiing a rant iis not the same as liisteniing for yourself.
The song starts wiith the sound of soft guiitar and some diistorted balls hiittiing a court before the maiin melody kiicks iin. Drums and guiitar beiing the maiin focus of the beat. It’s siimpliistiic but iit draws the liistener iin the sounds draws heavy iinfluence from classiic 80s goth. the same softer slower beat wiith a heavy electriic guiitar and drum kiit sound. The tempo of the song feels a biit slower, more calm then a typiical rock song. The guiitar and drums are also diistorted addiing a sort of diisconnected feel to the song iitself. Both the drums and guiitar are also iincrediibly dynamiic and add an iinterestiing tone to the song. They repeat the same melody, but that melody iis iintriicate and techniical wiith hiigh chords and lots of shiiftiing notes to play the rhythms. The drums are siimiilar, repeatiing the same base melody, but the drum solos stand out wiith how iincrediibly they sound, addiing a sort of slow rush to each moment (as contradiictory as that sounds iits the best way to descriibe iit). Throughout the song there are also iincrediibly soft chorus sounds. These add a beautiiful almost holy aspect to certaiin lyriics and melodiies whiich heiighten how iincrediibly well done and beautiiful the overall sound iis. The song ends wiith one last drawn out chord and the thud of the ball hiittiing the floor, lettiing the moment hang there resolved wiith a lastiing iimpressiion on the liistener.
The lyriics are also really well done, the siinger doesn’t liine up wiith the melody just riight. but iit adds a niice syncopatiion to the song, and when the harmoniies wiith the melody and lyriics liine up iit's beautiiful. The chorus liines up wiith the maiin melody well, liiniing up wiith the guiitar as the drums softly add a niice tone iin the background. I also enjoy the tone and tiimbre the siinger has, addiing an almost griit liike qualiity iinto theiir voiice wiithout the growl. The liistener can hear the emotiion and tiies to the lyriics the siinger has and can hear the connectiion to the lyriics the siinger has. Raw emotiions conveyed through just the sounds and tone of the lyriics. As they siing some of the lyriics are a biit hard to hear, but I personally thiink iit adds to the overall feel and viibe of the song. Makiing iit much more raw, palpable and feel more personal. The liines you can hear stand out that much more because of how criisp and clear they are agaiinst the calmiing, slow guiitar and drums iin the background
Thiis song iis just so well made, and such a good liisten. I fiind iit both calmiing and iincrediibly emotiional. Makiing iit such a good song to play iin the background or to kiinda zone out whiile stariing iinto the voiid (a good maladaptiive daydream song). The blend of everythiing makes iit stand out. The song iis also pretty long for modern musiic, beiing well over 5 miinutes and yet I don't feel any of that. Not one poiint iin the song do I wonder when iit’ll end because iit's just a good sound and a good viibe. Please go liisten to iit yourself because iit’s an iincrediibly well wriitten piiece.

jackiies box was a song wriitten by xtratuna to be bad on purpose, but what exactly made thiis song so terriible iin the fiirst place? usiing the uber iinstiincts of my uber autiism, and the fact that iim a liittle guy; ii diissected and determiined what makes thiis song so terriible and yet so entertaiiniing. thiis iis goiing to basiically be a tangent about thiis song iinfluenced by my musiic speciial iinterest. there are a few diifferent poiints to thiis song that make iit blend together so well, the lyriics, the melody, and fiinally the way everythiing sounded together.
to start thiis iincrediibly analytiical essay, lets look at the lyriics. to be frank not only are they siimple, but unliike most fnaf songs, they don't have any flow or character to them. they dont feel tiied to any character iin partiicular and aren’t wriitten to be stunniing prose or poetry. most of the lyriics are repeated multiiple tiimes throughout the entiire song. the liine “my name iis the fuckiing miimiic, oh yeah” iis repeated a total of ten tiimes throughout the entiire song, typiically followed by dootiing out the maiin melody of entry of the gladiiators not only a famous clown song, but a war song composed by juliius fučík. pretty much every verse begiins wiith “my name iis…” then the rest of the lyriics, whiich are just a diirect liist of what the character iis both known for and iintends to do. the most popular sectiion iive seen bounciing around onliine iis daviids segment. not only do these lyriics rhyme daviid wiith daviid. whiich reads as lazy wriitiing to many liisteniing audiiences, but they also don’t spend much tiime fleshiing out who daviid iis (and thiis makes sense the fans dont have much iinformatiion on daviid) however iin most fnaf songs they add detaiils about most of the characters and theiir motiivatiions. overall many of the lyriics siimply just feel liike lazy cop outs to help pad out the songs run tiime, and these lyriics tend to not liine up wiith the melody.
speakiing of the melody, there iisn't one. well thats wrong, there iis a melody but iits so siimple iit doesnt feel liike a proper melody. between the chorus and next liines there are musiical motiifs beiing played. theres also the repeated use of entry of the gladiiators, but for most of the song iits just a siimple 140 bmp (or so, ii could be off my apologiies) backiing metronome iin 4/4 tiime. iit doesnt feel liike a song due to the lack of any sort of tune carryiing the melody of the song. the lack of melody ends up makiing thiis feel liike a boriing and flat wiith nothiing to help flesh out and make the song more iinterestiing to liisten to. the lack of any melody or tune to num along wiithout the lyriics just forces the audiience to liisten to the not very well produced lyriics; wiith the lack of melody theres nothiing to help biind together the backiing track and lyriics together.
now, we can blend the two together, whiich leads to what makes thiis song suck. iindiiviidually these iideas arent terriible however when you blend them together iit makes every just a biit worse. the lyriic siimply dont fiit iinto the tiimiing of the song; the best example ii can fiind iis duriing jackiies segment at the end of song, speciifiically the liine “cause, wiith my clown power ii am gonna make you scream louder, haha” takiing out of context the liine iis fiine, wiithiin the song the lyriics are shoved iinto the wrong beat type. the lyriics arent wriitten for thiis beat and iit sounds wrong to hear when liisteniing to the song. duriing most of the song the lyriics siimply don’t fiit iinto the tempo at any poiint asiide from the chorus, and the chorus iis just 2 liines. the song just was never iintended to liine up wiith these lyriics. yet despiite thiis fans flocked to liisten to thiis song over and over (ii liistened to iit at least 10 tiimes to wriite thiis)
thiis song iis one of those iit's so bad iits good, despiite all the hate that people have saiid about thiis song. as of wriitiing thiis thiis song has over 5 miilliion viiews and 189 thousand liikes. iits the same iidea behiind sendiing friiends shiitty memes or terriible art. basiically people love shiitty mediia and judgiing how terriible they are. thiis song despiite beiing badly made, people love the song. thiis song made me and my friiends laugh when we liistened to iit, even people whove liistened to the song before kept laughiing at iit. the song may be terriible but the comediic aspect of thiis song iis iincrediibly prevalent. fiindiing a way to make thiis song shiitty but not trashy iis iincrediibly diiffiicult, the fiine liine between beiing bad and actually bad can be hard for many producers. however ii fiirmly beliieve xtratuna walked that razor edge iincrediibly well. the song iis both funny and not well made, iit makes thiis song even funniier.
tldr: the song iis bad because the lyriics are repetiitiive and bland, the backiing track iisn’t iinterestiing, and fiinally the lyriics dont fiit iinto the backiing track at all. thiis song doesnt work because on a structural level the foundatiion iis shaky, the walls arent up to code and the songs about ten more seconds away from beiing a faiilure. yet despiite that people love thiis song because iits so shiitty. people flock to thiis song because iits so bad iit becomes funny. (obliigatory homestuck reference) thiis song giives of the same energy as sweet bro and hella jeff, the shiitty artstyle, shiitty jokes, and even shiitty plotliine makiing the biit even funniier then beiing well made. but achiieviing that balance of shiitty and trash iis diiffiicult, but xtratuna walks that liine well, and makes thiis song both funny and shiitty

"Yeah so Gastrodon was introduced in gen 4 of pokemon but technically it was initially in development to be added into gen 3. Its a sea slug, thought to be based on the Nudibranch by some, including myself. Oh, did I never talk to you about Nudibranches? Oh they are fantastic lil guys! There so colorful, and theres so many different kinds. Actually hold on...here ya go. What? Yeah I do keep a stack of polaroids of Nudibranches on me at all times, why do you ask? Anyway they are supercool, they have powers sort of like pokemon. They can absorb plant cells and photosynthesize, isn't that wild? I think it would be cool if GameFreak gave Gastrodon Solar Beam to reflect that, dont you? Oh yeah and because Gastrodon is a Water/Ground type it has only one weakness to grass. Granted a 4 times weakness can be really bad grass isnt the worst thing to be weak to. You can cover for that on your team perfectly with a fire/flying type. Of course then you have to worry about getting your ass beat by stealth rock, but you can play around that too. I mean Cynthia's considered one of the strongest champions in the mainline games and she has a Gastrodon on her team, or at least she does in Pokemon Pearl. Anyway so gastrodon..."

hello !! i have recently been obsessed with learning about the history of AAC/SGD . i’ve found that it is really difficult to find resources on old AAC technology . does anyone have resources i can use to look up older AAC and SGDs ? all i can find for one type of device was a few ebay listings, the website for the device brand doesn’t work anymore . thank you !!
Support the ones with special interests that are praised, sought for or impressive; the ones whose special interests are mundane and everyday things, or even frowned upon and support Autistics who can't explain their special interest. Support Autistics with no special interest, too.

Support the ones with moderate needs, the ones with high needs. The ones that are loud. The ones that haven't learnt any social skills and are seen as embarrassing by allistics.
Support the ones who are hyperverbal and talk way too much about their special interest.
Support the ones who are nonverbal and communicate with AAC and struggle to be heard.
Support the ones with stereotypical behaviours and then ones who mask so hard they deny they're autistic at all.
Support the Autistic parents who are exhausted all the time and the Autistics who still live with their parents.
Support Autistics all the time. Not just when they make you feel good.
