watch criminal minds at 00:00-03:00 is an EXPERIENCE
lately I've been thinking a lot about spencer reid x bau! reader where she used to be a shield special agent and was kind of like peter parker and wanda maximoff rolled into one, but no one on the team knows it because she changed her name and all that and she’s like so badass

Summary You and Spencer have been in a secret relationship for a year. When you unexpectedly become pregnant it becomes harder to keep that secret.
fluff
Warnings mention of cheating while drunk.
Part 1
Six and a half months had crawled by since the life-altering night. Exhaustion clung to you like a second skin, your belly a growing testament to the little miracle nestled within. Today was the day you were finally going on leave, a bittersweet escape from the whirlwind of the BAU. No one knew the true story of the baby's father, a secret that gnawed at your conscience with every passing day.
Spencer had been a constant source of support, his gentle nature a balm to the storm brewing inside you. You'd even discussed godparents, a picture-perfect tableau of the BAU family surrounding your child.
"So how are you feeling?" Hotch asked as you lumbered into the office, the weight of the baby making every step a conscious effort.
"Fat and tired, but okay," You replied, managing a weak smile.
"How much longer will you be with us?" he inquired.
"Just here to pick up some things, then I'm heading home," You explained.
"Did you drive yourself?" he asked, a furrow appearing in his brow.
"No, Spencer dropped me off," You replied, your stomach clenching at the thought of the conversation that loomed.
"Well, get him to drive your home, then tell him he can have the day off too," Hotch said with a rare smile.
"Thanks, Hotch. See you when I get back, I guess," You shrugged.
Gathering your belongings felt like an eternity, each familiar object a reminder of the life you were leaving behind, at least temporarily. Stepping back out into the crisp morning air, you found Spencer waiting by the car.
"Ready to go home?" You asked, the words heavy on your tongue.
"Let's get you settled in, then I'll get back to work," he replied, his voice neutral.
The ride home was a tense symphony of silence. Every stolen glance at Spencer revealed a growing distance, a hurt you understood all too well. You kept your eyes glued to the ever-expanding landscape, the weight of your secret threatening to crush you.
Reaching the house, you managed to drag a box inside before collapsing onto the couch, the familiar ache in your back a dull throb. Spencer entered a few moments later, placing a bowl of popcorn and two drinks on the coffee table before settling the DVD player.
"What are you doing?" You finally managed, surprised by the sudden break in the tension.
"Well, if we both have the day off, why not spend it together before the baby comes?" he offered, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
Relief flooded you, warm and welcome. "Good idea," You whispered, scooting across the couch to lean against him.
"There's something I've been wanting to talk about," You began, your voice barely above a whisper.
"What is it?" he asked, his gaze holding yours.
"It's about the baby's father," You confessed, bracing yourself for the storm that might follow.
"I thought I was the father," he said, his voice betraying a flicker of uncertainty.
"You were," you stammered, "but there's something you need to know..."
The words caught in your throat, the memory a bitter pill to swallow. Taking a deep breath, you blurted out, "There was someone else."
"I don't know," you choked out, tears welling in your eyes. "The night we were together, I...I had a little too much to drink, and then the next morning..." Your voice trailed off, unable to finish the sentence, the memory a blur of self-loathing.
Spencer stood abruptly, his entire body radiating anger and hurt. The air crackled with unspoken accusations. "So, you're saying the baby could be Morgan's?"
"I don't know," you repeated, tears spilling down your cheeks now. "The timing just…lines up with that night. But you're the one I wanted, Spencer. You're the one I..." Your voice broke, unable to express the depth of your feelings or the regret that gnawed at you.
He ran a hand through his hair, his frustration evident. You both knew the implications. The life you'd envisioned, the little family you were building – it all hung precariously in the balance.
He stood abruptly, his entire body radiating anger and hurt. "We need to get this figured out."
Relief warred with fear in your chest. At least he wasn't walking out. "I thought maybe a paternity test…"
"Yeah," he snapped, his voice tight. "Let's do it."
The drive to the clinic was a blur. Neither of you spoke, the unspoken questions hanging heavy in the air. The sterile atmosphere of the clinic did little to ease your anxiety. Spencer held your hand silently as the nurse drew blood, his grip tight enough to leave white marks on your skin.
"How long will it take to get the results?" Spencer finally asked, breaking the tense silence.
The nurse glanced at a chart on the wall. "Typically, paternity tests take about a week to come back," she explained. "We'll call you as soon as we have them."
A week. Seven days stretched before you, an agonizing limbo. The weight of the unknown settled in your chest, a leaden companion. Looking at Spencer, you saw a similar worry etched on his face.
"What are we going to do until then?" you asked, the question barely a whisper.
He squeezed your hand, a silent reassurance. "We wait," he said, his voice gruff but determined. "And we try to focus on the good news, no matter what the results are."
"The good news?" you echoed, a flicker of hope igniting in your chest.
He offered a strained smile. "That you're finally on maternity leave, and we have a little miracle on the way, one way or another."
The forced cheer in his voice couldn't quite mask the underlying tension. You both knew the good news could turn sour depending on the test results. But for now, you clung to that fragile hope, a lifeline in the storm of uncertainty.
The following days were a blur. The house felt suffocating, the silence punctuated only by the tick of the clock. Every ring of the phone sent your heart racing, only to plummet when it wasn't the clinic. Spencer tried to maintain a semblance of normalcy, even taking a rare day off work to keep you company.
One afternoon, while flipping through baby magazines, you stumbled upon a section on twins. Double the bottles, double the diapers, double the trouble. A nervous laugh escaped your lips. The possibility of twins, once a distant thought, now loomed large, a complication layered on top of the paternity question.
Looking up, you saw Spencer watching you, a flicker of amusement in his eyes. "Thinking about double trouble?" he asked.
You managed a weak smile. "The doctor mentioned it as a possibility, didn't she?"
He nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Maybe that explains why you've been so exhausted lately."
His words brought a faint blush to your cheeks. The exhaustion was real, but so was the constant worry gnawing at you. You both knew the weight of the wait, the unspoken fear that hung heavy in the air. But for now, in the face of uncertainty, you clung to the possibility of a future, a future with a baby, or maybe even two, on the way.
You'd watch movies, fold tiny baby clothes, and talk about nursery paint colours, all the while a dark cloud of uncertainty hung over you.
One afternoon, while attempting to assemble a ridiculously complicated crib (courtesy of Rossi's overenthusiastic gift-giving), the phone rang. Spencer, closer to the receiver, snatched it up with a speed that belied his usual composure.
"Hello?" he answered, his voice tight. A beat of silence followed, then a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "Yes, this is SSA Spencer Reid. Yes, I've been expecting your call."
Your breath hitched in your throat. The crib parts clattered to the floor as you scrambled to his side, your gaze locked on his face. He listened intently, nodding occasionally, before finally murmuring, "Thank you. We'll be there shortly."
He hung up the phone, his eyes meeting yours. For a moment, they were a stormy gray, reflecting the turmoil within him. Then, a slow smile spread across his face, a smile that reached his eyes and banished the shadows.
"We need to get going," he said, his voice surprisingly calm.
"The results?" you stammered, your voice thick with anticipation.
He took your hand, his grip firm but gentle. "The good news, the bad news, or both? We'll find out at the clinic."
The car ride was a tense dance of silence and stolen glances. Your mind raced with possibilities; each one tinged with a sliver of fear. Would the results confirm your worst nightmare, shattering the fragile hope you'd built? Or would they clear the air, allowing you to move forward with a future you could finally embrace?
Pulling into the familiar parking lot of the clinic, you felt a wave of nausea wash over you. Spencer squeezed your hand reassuringly, his silent support the only anchor in the storm of emotions threatening to engulf you.
You walked into the clinic hand-in-hand, a united front despite the uncertainty gnawing at you. The receptionist, recognizing you, offered a sympathetic smile. "Dr. Lee will see you now," she said, her voice gentle.
Following the nurse down a sterile hallway, you entered the doctor's office. Dr. Lee, a woman with kind eyes and a calming demeanour, greeted you warmly. "Please, have a seat," she said, gesturing towards two chairs in front of her desk.
You sat, the silence deafening. Dr. Lee placed a file on the desk and took a deep breath. "I'm happy to report that we have the results of your paternity test, Mr. Reid. Okay, so do you want the good news or the bad news first?" the doctor asked, a small smile playing on her lips.
"The good news," you squeaked out, your voice barely audible.
"Spencer's the father," the doctor announced with a warm smile.
A wave of relief washed over you, so intense it almost knocked you off your feet. Spencer, however, remained silent, his expression unreadable.
"And the bad news?" he finally inquired; his voice low.
"It's twins," the doctor replied, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Your jaw dropped. Twins? That would explain the constant exhaustion and the way your clothes seemed to be shrinking daily. Looking at Spencer, you saw a mixture of shock and a hint of amusement flicker across his face.
"Well, that explains a lot," you finally managed, a shaky laugh escaping your lips.
"Double trouble," the doctor chuckled, her eyes twinkling.
Spencer chuckled too; the sound rough around the edges. Then, in a gesture that surprised you, he reached out and took your hand in his. "You got that right," he said, a newfound determination in his voice. "We can do this, together."
Leaving the clinic, hand in hand, the weight of the secret lifted. You were the happy (albeit slightly terrified) parents of twins, a future both daunting and exhilarating. There was still a lot to work through, the memory of Morgan a lingering shadow. But for now, the knowledge that Spencer was by your side, ready to face whatever came, was all the comfort you needed.
It had to be said.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MAN THAT SPURRED ME INTO CREATING MY LIST OF "people i simp for" (there's a lot in there😃🤭)
Do you guys know that feeling when you're reading an angsty fic? That like feeling that starts in the chest, sorta tingly and like spreads throughout your chest? That shit's the good stuff😌
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A MAN I WILL LOVE FOREVER DESPITE HIM BEING 25 YEARS MY SENIOR AND FICTIONAL🥳🥳
DR. SPENCER WALTER REID
Hey, I need help finding a fic. It's a Spencer x Reader fic, the only thing I can remember is that at one chapter the Reader knows the Unsub Megan Kane (Pleasure Is My Business) because she's also a socialite and like friends with her. I'm pretty sure it's a series fic. Pleaseee helpppp meeee😩😩
So I just finished Criminal Minds and no I am not okay
Prompt: literally just thought of the cutest emily x reader fic ever omg. (idk if someone has already made this but—) imagine like the team wants to leave early for a team night or something, but no one wants to be the one to ask emily. (chief era emily) They know she never says no to (reader), so they send them to go ask her, and boom team night happens early😇😇
From @lcvessapphic on tumblr
A/N: this whole authors note is just one big yapping session, read it if you want to. Okay so full disclosure i have not seen criminal minds up to this part (i only watched up to season 6 because I got so mad when Prentiss left) so I watched one episode of season 13— which I don’t even know if Emily is unit chief in tbh— in preparation and tried my hardest. Also I haven’t written in so long (or watched criminal minds in a while) so this might be soooo out of character. Also, this isn’t proofread😭
Emily Prentiss x reader
No warnings! This is all just fluff :)
“I think if I stare at this paperwork for any longer I might implode.” You said, abruptly breaking the silence.
It was a slow, slow paperwork day. You don’t want someone to die just for you to get out of this damn office, but if it happened, you wouldn’t be completely opposed to it. But mostly you just wanted to go home.
“I second that,” Derek said, turning his chair away from the desk behind you to face you. “Drinks?”
“I would kill to leave early to go to the bar.” Alvez replied.
You scoffed. “Like Emily would ever agree to letting us leave early.”
The rest of the team in the bullpen turned to look at you.
“What?”
“Emily tends to say ‘yes’ to you more often than anyone else.” Spencer joined the conversation.
Your cheeks burned at that. Does she, really? Knowing that she favors you out of everything else makes you preen at the thought.
Everyone knows about your tiny (so gigantic that words can’t possibly describe it) crush on Prentiss. You have all the subtly of a train, honestly.
“She wouldn’t agree to it just because I asked.” You reasoned, but you did like the idea that she would.
“Go try and ask your girl, Y/L/N.” Morgan suggested, an arrogant grin on his face.
You knew he just said that hoping that you would try and prove him wrong— and get him out of work in the process— but you had to test it. Damn profilers.
“Not my girl— but yeah, I’ll ask.” You stood up, pushed your chair in, and walking up the stairs towards Emily’s office.
You stopped by Garcia’s office, knocking twice before opening up the door and popping your head in. “Hey, Pen, you down to get some drinks with the team?”
“Who’s asking Prentiss? She loves to be downer— oo, she’ll say yes if you ask!”
“Jesus, what is up with that? She would say ‘no’, doesn’t matter who asks.” You argued, that familiar burn in your cheeks flaring up again.
“Oh, my poor, poor, oblivious friend.”
With a sigh you closed the door and continued your walk to Emily’s office.
Again, you knocked twice on Emily’s door, and opened the door, following a brief, “come in”, from Emily.
“Hey chief, the team was hoping to leave a bit early so we could go for drinks.” You said.
She paused in her task of completing her paperwork, her pen stilling. Her mouth was opened in preparation to say ‘no’, but when she looked up at you she faltered.
You attempted to lean against the doorframe, but you were an inch off and just ended up stumbling.
She chuckled and nodded her head, a soft smile on her face. “This once. Don’t get used to it.” She tried to sound stern, but it didn’t quite work— you wouldn’t tell her that, though.
“Leave with us in ten?”
“I’ll meet you guys there.”
You left the room, closing the door behind you.
You stood there a second, a stupid, lovesick smile on your face at the realization that she was going to say ‘no’ but she didn’t because it was you.
“I take it she said ‘yes’?” Morgan yelled up to you, an even worse shit eating grin on his face.
“Shut up, Morgan.”

It didn’t take too much time for you to dress up, being quick had become a habit for you, but the whole time all you could think about was the man who had your heart since you started working at the BAU. It didn’t even take a behavorial specialist to figure to out that this was team’s way of attempting to fix things between you and Spencer.
The two of you were the closest with each other, and spent the most time together.
“This is it, just talk to him. You’ve taken down killers, you can talk to your goddamn crush for once, grow a pair y/n” you mumbled
“Let’s leave babygirl! The others are waiting, i’m sure you will look gorgeous”
“In a minute!” you quickly grabbed your heels as you left.
It had been a while since you went out, so you decided to put a little effort, not because you’d be seeing spencer after what seemed like the longest week of your life.
It wasnt very far, the pub had a good, small crowd since it was newer in the neighbourhood.
You got a cab, with Penelope and reached, as promised, within the hour.
Spencer laid eyes on you, the second you walked in. He silently thanked his Eidetic memory because he never wanted to forget the way you looked tonight.
It wasn’t anything special to most people, but to Spencer, to him it meant the world. You exuded Elegance, hair in natural waves, a simple fit and flare solid colored dress, accentuating your features with a bear face, except your favorite gloss that you carried all the time, just cause it tasted like chocolate, you’d always say so.He laughed quietly, running his hand through his hair.
Your heart started beating erratically as you made your way in, your feet taking you to Spencer, long forgetting your conversation with Penelope which was funny only moments ago.
“Hey”, you started blushing furiously before you could even speak.
“Hi! How are you now?I got really worried that day, but-but you’re okay now?”He couldn’t take his eyes off you, he hoped you wouldn’t notice
“Um, i’ve been great actually! How are you and Maeve? Is she alright?”
“Yeah she’s great, she’s moving back, a little closer to home.”
“ Is she now?”, sounding a little happier than you intending to, you said, a little too quickly
“Yeah, as much as we love each other, it just wouldn’t work,
Because I’ve had a liking for someone else”, he stepped closer to you, looking deeper into the window’s of the soul, his eyes flicked to your lips.
“Spenc-“
He interuppted you with a kiss to your lips, pulling away before you could react
“I-I’m sorry, i shouldn’t have done that, please dont hate-“
You pulled him by his tie, and crashed your lips against him
“ i would never hate you Spencer Reid”
He passionately kissed you back,
You giggled, as you let your hands tangle into his hair
“Why are you laughing?”
“I’ve liked you since the second i saw you, it’s hard to believe this is happening”
“ Well you should, because i really like you y/n”
“Really?”
“Yes, it’s always been you”
You giggled again.
“What now?” Spencer said childishly.
“ No one wears a tie to a bar Spencer”
“Oh Well, you’ve got to Spend time with me to teach me that then”
“We’ve got a lot of work to do then,
Pretty boy”
You smiled, as you kissed his cheek, not bothering to tell the team, you and Spencer left. You’re earlier Date nights with him, now had a different meaning.
Pairing : Spencer Reid x reader

——- Author’s Note ends——-
“This was it, today is the day I do it”you chided mentally, rythmically tapping you hand on your knee as you waited to get out of the subway.
The warmth of the bureau was a welcome change from the cold air outside, yet the air still seemed tense, you realised why as you looked around - Aaron and the whole team were surrounding Spencer’s desk, suddenly alarmed, you rushed in that direction.
“What’s happened?” You panted,
“Thank gosh you’re here” , gushed Penelope with a worried look.
You managed a weak smile as your eyes flickered over to Spencer who continued speaking to everyone, but you couldn’t focus on his words, his brows were furrowed his eyes and nose tinged red suggesting he was crying but he still looked so adorable to you.
Everyone soon dispersed, only you were left at spencer’s desk.
“Hey. What happened?”
“It’s Maeve, her stalker”
“What happened?” worry laced your voice, you knew how much Maeve meant to him
“he-he’s back and she’s in danger, and I don’t know who it is, it’s all my fault, i should have protected her sooner” ,Spencer rushed his words, after taking a moment to decipher it-
“Spence, we’ll find her. I promise. You’ve got the most brilliant minds of the BAU with you.”
“But what if- what if I never see her? What if she doesnt make it? She already told me she loves me, and I- i havent been able to tell her yet”
Your heart sank, you gulped feeling the tears stinging at your eyes, you managed to mumble -
“It’s gonna be alright spence, you trust all of us dont you?” as you pulled him into a warm embrace, you felt him relax under your touch as he nodded his head in reply. It bought a smile to your face, but only for a brief moment as he pulled away and started looking through Maeve’s folder on his messy desk.
The moment slipped away like sand.
“I can’t tell him now, or ever”, hoping you didnt say that out loud, You strolled away, toward your desk and slumped down on your chair, massaging your temple.
Everyone knew about how you felt for Spencer, except him, for a genius he was pretty dumb. This situation was an absolute mess, but you knew you’d have to help save Maeve for Spencer’s happiness, even if you loose your chance.
You stop your mind from spiralling and focus on the folder kept on your desk.
After days and days of putting together the pieces you found Maeve’s stalker, Spencer was wrong probably for the first time because, it was a ‘she’ - Diana Turner, one of Maeve’s interns.
Who now stood in front of your eyes with her back faced toward you and a gun on Maeve’s head.
The remaining team had their gun’s
Pointed toward her too but Diana was too focused on Spencer to notice you stealthily walk up to her. You pulled Maeve away from her and simultaneously kicked her from beneath. She fell to the ground, dropping her gun which you kicked away and cuffed her.
“Diana Turner, you are under arrest for attempt to murder a civillian, goverment offical and stalk-“
“Spencer!”
“Mae-Maeve!, im so, so glad you’re okay, are you hurt? It’s okay now, you’re safe, i’m sorry i didn’t come soon-”
“Dont be sorry,You’re here now I’m safe.” she said, pecking his lips, with her hands around his neck. Spencer nuzzled his face and wrapped his arm around her waist.
You couldn’t stop yourself from mentally breaking down after seeing Spencer and Maeve together, as you tried pulling together your best poker face, Diana who was pinned below you pulled out a knife and slashed it against you,a long streak of blood oozed out from just under your ribs across your midriff over to your left side,
Seething in resentment and pain you handed her to emily as you put pressure on your wound. You were getting dizzy because of exhaustion or blood loss? you didn’t know but you couldn’t care less as you saw Maeve and Spencer be sickenly sweet in front of you even now.
“You need a medic?” Emily asked worriedly.
“I’m fine, i’ll take a couple days off tend to it myself, i’m going to head back now, but i do need some bandage”
“I already have some here.” She handed it over to you “You know it’s alright to admit you’re hurting,”
You scoffed, bandaging your abdomen.
“(y/n) you know exactly what I’m talking about “
“I’m gonna get some sleep emily, good night” you said, strolling past her, back hunched, with the image replaying in your head, still clear as day.
