Banded Fishing Spider (Dolomedes vittatus), female, taken September 27, 2024, in Georgia, US
Aside from maybe Joro Spiders, this is one of the largest spiders I find in my area. I almost stepped on this girl while I was circling a tree, and she shot out of the leaves and scared the crap out of me! She was a wonderful model, though, unlike her cousins the White-banded Fishing Spiders (Dolomedes albineus) who are hateful and cannot sit still.
Jumping Spider (Admestina wheeleri), male, taken July 17, 2024, in New Hampshire, US
His task? Uncertain, but he's doing something! This genus nests in crevices in tree bark, but I'm not sure if he's trying to create a nest, deposit sperm, or a secret third task.
The picture was taken after the video while I followed him on his journey around this tree for at least 10 minutes before I decided he wasn't of interest any more. He wandered away from where he made this possible nest in a seemingly random direction, kind of just meandering along the tree, and it has me wondering if he decided the spot he chose wasn't suitable for a nest. Regardless, this genus is known to be quite illusive, so I wanted to document the behavior in a video in case it was of interest. Who knows!
Putnam's Jumping Spider (Phidippus putnami), juvenile female, taken May 7, 2024, in Georgia, US
I always love it when jumping spiders stare at the camera. I have so many pictures of their big, shiny eyes looking up at me. This little girl was a great model! Very cute!
Another visitor with UnderNet complains !! ąhuhuhu ~~
zoom+ she was hooked up when you mentioned spider money, but go on i guess ^
Why-ever and whenever someone gets into the spiderweb, they always leave with more donuts then gold in their pocket.
I somehow only see them together in deltraune memes videos, weird I think they fun (in my view more as partners in crime then romantic, they both married to a grind rn)
I also tried some mix-mediaing with paint 3d (it's better then i thought fr) Image i used for even more background webs.
That's what I imagine Dunmer kids are doing in their free time - throwing tea parties for all of Morrowind's eldricht horrors!

Art featuring Rheavie, the adorable OC of @katastronoot.
I got the inspiration from one reblog tag of @downontheupside #Ahhgudhdud i love how the kid looks like they just want to go back to playing with bugs outside instead of seeing dessicated ghostly grandpa
And obviously this iconic photo:

In the new apartment now and it's fantastic! Great space, good neighbors and a yard (a hard thing to come by in chicago). It also comes with a storage space in the basement that is just smaller than the second bedroom.
I've been thinking I should set up my workshop in the basement storage room and keep all the sawdust and noise out of the apartment. The only problem is I'm terrified of spiders and the basement is full of them.
Even typing that right now I can't help but call myself a wuss.

spider eye arrangements
i love Opiliones!!! you may know that they're not spiders (Aranea) , but you may not know why they're not spiders-- these pictures provide an excellent couple examples!
unlike Aranea, Opiliones have less than eight eyes (up to six). the connection between the cephalothorax (head) and the abdomen (bulbous back part) is much less defined, lending them a more circular body shape than spiders. they do not have silk or venom glands-- their mouthparts are more suited to chewing than piercing. overall very cute and fun arachnids!
now go appreciate your local harvestmen and marvel at the world !
We really are sleeping on harvestmen. They're so cool, and most people don't know about any besides the common daddy long legs!
Amazonian harvestman (Protimesius sp.)
Callcosma sp. from Ecuador
Rilaena triangularis
Spiny harvestman (Propachylus singularis)
Bunny harvestman (Metagryne bicolumnata)

I just saw a spider crawling up my wall next to my bed. Well there goes my chance of any sleep...
Spiders. Spiders everywhere. We found one the size of my palm in the dishwasher once. They sleep on your face.
