What if part of Sundays spine was injured in the final penacony battle and he now uses mobility aids?

As a mobility aid user myself, this HC has latched onto my brain like a violent animal, also idk where the quality went donāt ask

Hi! This is my first time posting here but I decided it wouldn't hurt to share this. I was initially gonna post on the Sunday mains reddit page but I didn't have enough karma sooooo ye here we are. There will be some spoilers for the story in 2.2/2.3 and I'll be mentioning a design leak but that's it
So as you may know there's been A LOT of speculation and theories on where sunday will end up now that he'll no longer be in penacony. one of those many theories is that sunday will be joining the astral express. Now compared to theories like him joining the stellaron hunters and even the ipc theory, this one, at the very least in my opinion and from what I know, has the least amount of evidence to support it. The only thing some people have been using as evidence is the fact that the express was short of one player for playing a game and some dialogue that could possibly be hinting at a new member joining and also the fact that he has a golden rectangular badge at the end of his coat on his new potential design that was leaked recently which looked similair to the badge the express members have in their design. That was it, nothing else as far as I'm aware
I personally did not agree with or like this theory much as it didn't make much sense, from what remember, the express literally almost got killed by him and not to mention the fact that we literally run him over with a train in the boss fight. I don't think the bond between them could be fixed so easily after all that. This alongside the fact that there wasn't much to support the theory.
But then today I came across a little something.
In the radiant feldspar, near the divergent universe I came across an NPC named Amsella. Now this npc was one of those that like you can buy things from and I decided to check out what she had. I saw a food item shaped like a crow and just for fun I read the description. I'm just gonna put the pictures here and you can read them for yourself.
I'm still not a fan of the theory and I don't see how it'd really work but I'd thought it wouldn't hurt to share this incase I'm not delusional and actually found something good
TL;DR: I found a random snack that had a description that could possibly serve as evidence to support the sunday joining the astral express theory and decided to share it because why not

(Spoilers for Penacony Quest Below!)
I feel like people are not talking enough about how Sunday literally almost ascended in his boss fight, as far as I can tell, anyway.
Like, he was the 'Embryo of Philosophy.' He was in the middle of turning into an Aeon following the path of Philosophy and ascending to take the place of Order instead of reviving Ena without his knowledge.
I think it is really sad when you think about how Sunday fully believed he was doing the right thing and tried to revive Ena, only to be tricked into unknowingly starting to ascend into Aeonhood.
I could ramble on and on about how sad of a character Sunday is and all that, but I have to stay on topic for now.
Anyway, back to his ascension.
So, I do want to point out something I noticed during his boss fight that I found rather... interesting.
During his third phase, we all know about his big attack that practically nukes your team, right?
Well, during that attack, we see a hand coming down and reaching towards Sunday, to which he reaches back and they touch fingers, causing the attack to happen.
The attack and scene in question.
Now, most people tend to assume that this is Ena, and I do as well. At least, I did think it was Ena until I stared at the screen a bit too hard and went, "Wait a damn minuteā"
Dearest gentlereader, care to take a little looksie at Ena for me?
Ena, the Order.
Do you see that? Their hands?
That's right! Ena's hands don't match the hands during Sunday's boss fight at all.
So, I am going to tell you that this is not Ena and not Xipe either, because that wouldn't make sense at all. Even then, Xipe's hands are a deep blue, so that wouldn't match either.
Now, I know during that move, Sunday speaks as if he is talking to Ena, yes. However! If Sunday is truly oblivious to the fact he is ascending and is under the full belief that he is reviving Ena, he probably also does not realize that who he is talking to. IS. NOT. ENA.
So, who is it? Who is this this mysterious hand coming from the heavens? Well, what if I say it is the Aeons version of Sunday's hand?
Alright, don't scroll or click off, just hear me out!
The hand shares certain similarities to both Ena and Xipe. (The white part with the gold design being reminiscent of Ena. The thumb also shares a bit of Xipes color scheme, albeit with a bit of a stretch.)
You can also see during the scene that there are angel feathers coming down from where the hand comes from, something neither of the other Aeons possess. But you know who has feathers and wings? The handsomest man in Penacony, that's who!
During the build-up to the move, the subtitles were repeating the words from his diary, if I am correct, (which might has well just been a Bible at that point) until you get to the hand scene, as if slowly bridging the gap between his mortal body and his soon-to-be Aeon form.
Am I crazy? Am I right? I have no clue!
I might be totally off the mark with this, but I'm posting this anyway.
Bye ya'll, hope I didn't completely waste your time!
My Headcanon/Idea About Halovian Halos
Alright, let's get into it!
So, halovians' halos are not attached to their heads, as we already know and can see clearly with Robin.
Robin with her halo clearly removed from her head to disguise herself.
We can also see in Robin's trailer that they can shine their halos, like gold and any other metal.
Robin getting her halo shined for the cameras. Courtesy of our beloved Sunday ā”
So, this got me thinking. What if the halos are just pieces of metal?
Thinking about it some more, no matter how you look at it, there could be no way they are born with metal hovering over their heads, right? Whether they hatch from an egg or come out live from their mother, it would theoretically be impossible.
Unless, somehow it sprouts up after they are born, this just wouldn't work from a biological standpoint.
So... what if their parents make their halos for them after they are born?
It could be a sentimental and special experience crafting and welding the metal for their new child together, gifting it to them once they are born so they can keep it with them for their whole life.
It would explain why they are removable, can be cleaned and polished, and would add a nice sentimental touch to every halovians' unique halo as it would have been painstakingly crafted from their parents.
This could also add a sort of angst element if you were to create a halovian character without a halo or just with a plain halo.
It could mean that they were abandoned or their parents did not put much care or time into their child and that would be reflected more outwardly that way.
Perhaps a lack of halo could also signify a halovian going against their heritage and abandoning their family themselves. After all, what better way to shun your parents then to rid yourself of the one special gift they gave to you to remember them by?
Omg, I love this thought of mine! I'm so proud of myself here for thinking this up at like 2 in the morning! This is one of my best thoughts I've dreamt up in a hot minute. :3
Sunday singing Cruel Angel's Thesis.
I can't stop thinking about it.
Do they lay eggs?
No, for real. Do they?
I get that they are more angel than bird, but who's to say angels don't lay eggs either?
Like, come on, Robin is literally named after a bird. Robins are birds, she is a bird.
Sunday is the chicken wing boy. Chickens are birds. I hear myself, I'm really stretching it here.
But do they lay eggs? If so, how large is the egg? Like, actual infant size or maybe just a bit smaller?
Are they born with their halo or do their parents make their halo when they are born and give it to them? After all, their halos aren't attached to them, they can remove them and can shine them like a piece of metal.
If their halos are just pieces of metal that float at the back of the head, does that mean they are magnetic? Can you stick a halovian onto your fridge and they would hover there?
I NEED TO KNOW.
guess who got their drip marketing released
I felt like this fit these 2. Sorry itās kinda ass. :(
I worked so hard please let this blow up
The best time for silly hsr sketches......š
so guess who drops by when I'm visiting the express train?
no seriously, guess who :')
that's right! Robin[cute][cute]<3
and guess who was in the next cart over?
thats also right!
Sunday!!
see how he's not even turning to face me?? that's because he knows :/
i have never wanted to so badly drag a character in game up until this pointā
go over to see your sister ho
anyways, all this game does is make me mentally insane :w
so, it's been a hot minute since i last posted on here(not that i really need to but anyways!)
ya girl got into hsr a while ago and got addicted(FEIXIAO COME HOME PLSS) nd while in was doing the trailblazer quest where we meet sunday again, something he said struck me in an odd way.
now a pointed disclaimer, i'm not a professional theory crafter but this gen couldn't leave my mind so i had to share it :3
so! you all know march, right? pretty familiar with our in game companion and bestie.
and we all know that her past is pretty....lacking, in the sense that we know nothing about it apart from the fact that she was encased in ice when she was found by the express and had her memory erased and kept by a memokeeper.
now, back to something sunday said, and bear with me cuz this is relevant: where a place like Penacony harbors memoria(or sum along those lines), and due to the laughing prank by the Pepeshi, Tingyun's psych splintering off into different beings as well, it got me thinking(never a good thing btw).
did march become affected in a similar way as a possible punishment for something her original self did and have the memokeeper split her different personalities and then erase their collective memory so it can't be traced back?? as like a way for her not to be chased down again?
idk, march is js happy go lucky energy most of the time and has this air about her(at least to me) where it seems like there's something about her that we just can't see or conceive. because in such a narrative, esp like hsr, where the characters are always hiding something until the very end, it wouldn't be surprising for march to have such a....dark past abt her.
also, isn't it weird that she has a new skin, and more than 1 path to choose from? as a 4*, she's getting some vip treatment. and that's not js me ragging on her or anything(i truly do love march, she's so sweet)but i just think that the developers are trying their hardest to keep her relevant with a permanent event and all that jazz, so it might not be too far fetched that we might get a dazzling reveal.
at some point, when we do get a reveal, i wouldn't be surprised if there are other marches in existence just like the one we know, just with different personalities and backstories.
maybe the quest where we explored her mind with the matrix of prescience allowed us to witness the connection between the fractured personalities before the memokeeper felt that connection and severed it??
im grasping for straws here, but i think it's a silly theory that might be plausible, idk tbh.
I have come to spread the good word. Have you heard the news?
A character study on Sunday's Philosphies using a poorly-made powerpoint. As all characters who hit it big in the mentally ill awards deserve. And because I ended up relating and resonating with him and the main point of Penacony's Message... more than I should have and wished to share because I love 2.2's story and need people to see my vision.
Of course heavy 2.2 Star Rail Spoilers Ahead so BEWARE!!!
Ok i haven't played Penocony yet as i am still stuck in the Xianzouš„² but kept up with the lore and Man this Man his just so holy and divine i need more Sunday content honestly idk whether i should make a manipulative priest Sunday or Fallen sinner fic idk mans design screams biblical accurate angel, priest or pope vibes like-š¤šāØ
mmmm nice :))))))
I just had the cutest and funniest idea, how would the hsr men react to their baby trying to breastfeed from them thinking they're the reader.
I'm doing this according to the characters who may/might have great personalities and assets.
Baby tries to latch on
He freezes. Completely. Soul leaves body for a moment. Thenā"I am not⦠your parent/mother." Cue the most awkward, silent pause in existence. He gently, but very firmly, redirects the baby with a deadpan expression and dead eyes.
He tells no one. Ever. Not even Kafka. Especially not Kafka.
He stares down at the baby in mild surprise, then lets out a slow chuckle. "You must be terribly disappointed, little one."
He gently boops their nose with a finger and rocks them calmly, absolutely planning to bring this up to the reader later with that smug twinkle in his eyes. Bonus points if he sighs and says, "Looks like Iāll need to grow a pair after all."
Instant red. The man turns into a statue. He gently pulls the baby away with both hands like heās defusing a bomb and just... stares at it in mortified silence. Later, heād overthink every single second of it. Wonāt talk about it unless someone forces him to, and even then: denial.exe.
He adjusts his glasses with a slow sigh. "Ah⦠no, no. Wrong person, little one."
Handles it with mature, dad-like composure but absolutely brings it up at the next family meal like, āReader, your child mistook me for you. It was... a unique experience.ā
The baby loves him even more after. Heās their favorite uncle now. It's canon.
He blinks, smiles softly, and calmly goes, āOh? Youāre hungry?ā before realizing what theyāre trying to do.
Cue a brief, very polite internal crisis.
He distracts the baby with a flower or a pretty trinket like nothing happened, but the internal monologue is just, "This is not in the medical texts."
A pause. Then a quiet laugh, like soft bells in a dream.
"Ah⦠even your confusion is a kind of love, little one."
He would philosophize the hell out of that moment. Probably strokes the babyās head, muttering something about how all souls long for comfort. Might even start psychoanalyzing the baby.
Still doesnāt know how to emotionally recover, though.
I didn't forget about Tumblr what do you mean-
Anyways, Sunday. Join his cult.
edit: i was given a great analogy to zuko from avatar, and now i'm not so critical. thanks everyone for your attention
I want to say this upfront: as a character, Sunday works perfectly fine for me. But I absolutely canāt stand how the fandom obediently swallowed such a stupid retcon of his character. And I canāt stand fandom stripped him of all blame. Time and time again, I see posts like: āOh, my precious little sunshine! Donāt cry... Oh no, heās crying in his ultimate! He didnāt deserve this, poor thing!ā
What the hell was HoYoverse thinking when they gave us a dictator with a god complex (borderline chÅ«nibyÅ syndrome) as an antagonist? A character who defended someone who sold children into slavery. Someone who mocked a slave for their origins. Someone who placed himself above the local police and even above the very creator of Penacony. All while chaos reigned under his (and Familyās) rule in Penacony. Within Penacony, everythingās a mess: banditry, alcoholism, shady financial dealings. Criminals hide from the hounds in the Dreamscape, and Sunday defends them, driving the hounds away. Many people work for pennies, losing any chance at a better future. And some have even been dragged back after death, turned into lifeless husks just to serve as local attractions.
Sunday knows how to act righteously, but he chooses to do things his own way instead. Thatās his whole arc. He became a god (boss version) for the Dreamscape and felt zero guilt over the fact that Penacony under his rule remained a pit of sin and filth, far from any kind of paradise.
And then, we defeat him. He regrets... but only regrets losing. His remorse isnāt about what he didāitās about being beaten. Heās ready to do it all over again, just with a different strategy.
Why does HoYoverse give us a character like this (admittedly fascinating because heās ridiculously stubborn, manipulative, selfish, and unhinged), only to suddenly turn him into a martyr, a lamb, and a tragic victim weāre supposed to feel sorry for? Poor Sunday, who only wanted the best but ended up dooming everyone to suffer. Theyāre so insistent about making us pity him that itās disorienting. Whatās the point? No oneās going to believe it. He locked his own sister in a cage, justified slavery, carried out vigilante justice, and controlled the fates of millions. No oneās going to believe heās a victim...
Except they d i d. And thatās what pisses me off the most. People have forgotten that just a year ago, he was the thorn in everyoneās side, deliberately hurting those around him with glee. Now they call him āsunshine,ā āpoor thing,ā āprecious baby.ā They wipe his tears during his ultimate move, saying he doesnāt deserve to be imprisoned, doesnāt deserve to face the consequences of his actions. Are you all out of your minds?
Why didnāt Kokolia get a chance? Why didnāt Tisok 2 get a chance? (Tisok 2 is from a side quest about a ruler whose memories were erased. In it, weāre shown that she was a tyrant before losing her memory. The NPCs ask us, āDoes she deserve redemption?ā And no matter what, the NPCs will yell, āNo, absolutely not!ā Funny. She doesnāt deserve it, but Sunday does?)
The idea that he isnāt to blame is also questionable. He and Robin grew up under the same personās wing. Robin was constantly told her perspective was wrong, yet did she grow up as a submissive follower? No, she grew into a truly strong person capable of thinking for herself. But Sunday? He basked in the praise for his bad decisions. Heās just an overgrown brat who decided the world is his playground.
So no, I will never believe in his redemption. I will never believe heās changed. HoYoverse canāt convince me that heās repented or truly regrets his sins, because as long as heās free and has done nothing for society, itās all meaningless.
He will never have a place on my Express. The Express will never be his home. He will never stand among the people whoāve become my family.
