So I have this new headcanon that the Bloodwolf is Death’s older brother, and I can’t stop thinking about Puss’s reaction to that.

Like imagine you’re Puss, and you have to deal with this 1 wolf who’s the personification of fear. You defeat him, and after that, you meet this other supernatural wolf. Instead of being the personification of fear, he’s the personification of death. You fight him, and then after that, you realize those 2 wolves are brothers.

I feel like even though Puss would be more distrustful and wary of Death because of that, he wouldn’t fully resent him for being the Bloodwolf’s brother. He would probably see him a lesser of 2 evils compared to the Bloodwolf. So he’d begrudgingly give Death a chance.

We need to talk about how op Puss actually is

Like seriously, let’s examine the facts:

Puss could fight enemies who are obviously stronger and/or bigger than him

He once resisted the Bloodwolf’s power.

Puss’s power is his personality. Puss’s personality is so strong that it clashes with San Lorenzo’s magic and almost caused the end of the world.

The evil version of him managed to single-handedly take over the Netherworld, which is something not even the Bloodwolf could do. Meaning Puss could’ve been a bigger threat to San Lorenzo than the Bloodwolf, let that sink in.

Now imagine if Puss’s power was an active ability he could do, like he gets superpowers because of this. Imagine how terrifying he would be. If the third PiB movie has Puss get mind controlled and turn evil, almost all the Shrek characters would be shitting their pants. Puss would’ve wiped the floor against Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Dragon. I’m pretty sure Puss could beat Dragon in a fight since he once single-handedly slayed a dragon. The 4 of them would’ve possibly began to fear Puss.

This takes place when Puss was with Captain Alonso’s pirate crew.

When Humpty shows his face in San Lorenzo, there are 2 people there aren’t very happy to see him.

I have this headcanon that Puss will drop some of the lore he learnt from his time at San Lorenzo.

Like Donkey once got the hiccups, and Puss will be like “Cloud hiccups!” And wouldn’t elaborate further on that.

Maybe some random mage decides to dump their stuff in the Netherworld, but Puss stops him/her/them and is all like “The Tiny Queen and the Zephilim already have to deal with the Bloodwolf, other beings from our world, and other wizard junk in their world. You don’t need to make their situation worse by dumping your stuff in their realm.” Both Kitty and Perrito would look at him, confused.

When Goldie and the 3 bears want to steal the Arcanum, Puss stops them. He’s all like “Uhhh, what about you do not steal the Arcanum? That is pretty much one of the only things that are stopping the Bloodwolf from returning, along with the Obelisk of Night. Who is the Bloodwolf you may ask? He is basically this ancient and powerful being that’s older than time itself. He is the arch-nemesis of the Great Mage Sino. He is the worst! He is basically like Death, but without the redeeming qualities.”

Goldie, Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Kitty, and Perrito are surprised by how Puss knows this. Death is also surprised, but amused.

(I have this new headcanon that Death is the Bloodwolf’s older brother, so this why Death is amused.)

Maybe Puss almost reveals how defeat the Bloodwolf, and Death is both surprised and confused by this.

Death is the Bloodwolf’s Son (Theory)

There’s a small theory going around the fandom that Death is the Bloodwolf’s son. There’s some evidence that supports this theory.

They’re both supernatural wolves

They’re both immortal

They both have red eyes

They both have powers related to fear (Death being able to smell fear while the Bloodwolf can see people’s greatest fears)

They’re also enemies with Puss.

This also leads us to the question on what exactly was Death and the Bloodwolf’s relationship like if them being related is true. I like to think Death and the Bloodwolf had a good relationship , but ever since the Bloodwolf became enemies with Sino, Death and the Bloodwolf gradually drifted away from each other. Death didn’t want anything to do with his dad anymore and cut off all ties with him; he eventually became a neutral party.

Maybe the Bloodwolf still loves his son even after everything.

If this theory were to be canon, then imagine Puss’s reaction to that. That he basically fought against the Bloodwolf’s son and won. Also imagine the San Lorenzans reactions to the Bloodwolf having a son.

How San Lorenzo Affected Puss

Okay so Puss is probably the most traumatized character in the Shrek franchise, especially if you take taopib’s events into account. In this post, we’re going to explore how San Lorenzo affected Puss mentally.

Why Puss Didn’t Value Any of His Lives

In taopib, Puss used to value all his lives. He even valued death. In one of the episodes, Puss says “Oh reaper, you’ve come to take me? Okay, let me just put on my boots first”. Sure, Puss was still arrogant and impulsive, but my point still stands.

After losing San Lorenzo, Puss took everything for granted. He began to brag about how he laughed at the face of death.

Plus Puss did die in the series finale, but managed to quickly enter his second life thanks to Dulcinea. So it’s no wonder why he grew to disrespect Death.

Why Puss Has Trust Issues

Puss was betrayed by both Uli and Jack, 2 people he genuinely cared about. They both manipulated him and put his friends in danger.

So when Puss reunited with Humpty in the first Pib movie, it’s no wonder why he didn’t trust him and forgive him at first. Puss forgave both Jack and Uli and they both stabbed him in the back.

Why Puss Was So Closed Off Puss let himself be vulnerable and make genuine connections in San Lorenzo, and guess what? He then had to leave San Lorenzo and never return there.

This caused Puss to put on a charismatic hero facade to hide how broken he is. Most people know him and love him as the legend, but never Puss.

This also caused Puss to become more aloof and more distant towards others. While he did socialize with others every now and then, he always held them at an arm’s distance.

It’s probably because he’s afraid of losing everybody just like how he lost San Lorenzo.

(This would probably explain why he was initially rude to Perrito too.)

So this post explains why Puss didn’t value any of his lives, has trust issues, and was so closed off. Kitty probably wasn’t kidding when she said Puss needs therapy, because he had the shittiest life out of all the Shrek characters.

Okay, but evil puss is underrated af. He’s pretty mush the second most menacing villain of taopib.

If they ever make a 3rd puss in boots movie, then it should fully explore Puss’s grief over San Lorenzo.

I want to see Puss missing the adventures he had there and the friends he made there.

I want to see Puss feeling guilty over putting San Lorenzo in danger.

I want to see Puss thinking that he’s a monster for having the power to end the world.

Puss being confused on why he has that kind of power.

Dreamworks, please let this happen in the third puss in boots movie.

So anybody remember how the Arcanum told Sino that Puss' power can end the world?

Well that leads to the question on where Puss even got that power.

Maybe Puss was born with that power, I mean, there were no hints that Puss was given that power. So him being born with it is more likely.

But how was Puss, a mortal cat, even born with that power? That's not normal, even by the Shrekverse's standards.

Since Puss is an orphan, there's a chance that his biological parents probably had something do with it.

If taopib is canon to the Shrekverse, then pib 3 should be about where Puss got that power. Maybe there's another way to trigger it?

(I swear this why I made my Harbinger of Doom AU, because I'm really curious on how Puss was even born with that power.)

You do realise Dulcinea not looking like a cat is the point, right?

In the show, Dulcinea is actually a tulpa. A tulpa is a spell that takes the form of a species, like a cat or goblin.

It's common for tulpas to have an uncanny appearance of the form they take. Hence why Dulcinea's head looks bigger than the rest of her body.

So I recently finished taopib, and here are some thoughts:

According to the great mage Sino, puss' personality is so strong, that it clashes with San Lorenzo's magic and can trigger the end of the world.

If we count Death as one of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, what if Puss' ability to end the world is equal to Death's?

This would make sense on why Puss can fight people who are obviously stronger and bigger than him, got confused as a god, and why the bloodwolf's powers barely work on him. Just like the bloodwolf, Puss can also trigger the end of the world.

Not only that, he once gave Taranis powers he himself doesn't have.

This would make Puss pretty op.

Ya'll remember evil Puss?

If the circumstances had been different, Puss would make a terrifying villain. We get to see how menacing and threatening Puss can be if he ever turned rogue. Let's not forget that Evil! Puss once took over the Netherworld.

This makes me want to do an deathpuss au where puss is secretly a mortal harbinger of destruction.

So in taopib, if you take any of the treasures, even one coin, it will break the protection spell that surrounds San Lorenzo.

In s2, there are been more treasures that gave been stolen from the Treasure House, but the spell still wasn't broken.

The spell was only broken when puss decided to steal a coin from it.

Somebody pls correct me if I'm wrong here...

But how was the spell not broken when the first treasure disappeared from the Treasure House?

This is a plot hole

Y'know I was watching the Adventures of Puss in Boots, and Puss said "Oh reaper, you have already come for me? Okay, let me just put my boots on first"

The fact that puss was initially chill with death guiding him to the afterlife is so funny to me, especially if you take pib:tlw events to account

Since taopib takes before pib:tlw, makes this even more funny.
