I finished the first squad of gue'vesa. The conversion is simple just removing the lasguns, giving them tau gear and of course bayonets and machetes from a spare marine sprue.
Loyal guardsmen and imperial citizens until they were abandoned by their lords as their world fell from importance and they became isolated during the twelfth black crusade. The dark Eldar, war bands and chaos cultists ran rampant. The Tau took the opportunity to expand and came in to “rescue them”. As repayment for their families and world being protected they swore allegiance to the empire and the ethereals.
Dedicated to the point of fanaticism they make the average tau fire warrior seem passive and cowardly as they will bayonet charge tyranids and space marines without any regard for their lives seeing every death as a glorious sacrifice and a repayment of their debts to the greater good. They are also massive simps for Shadowsun as she was the commander who first spoke to them cause I find the idea hilarious with such hard and fanatical soldiers that they walk around with body pillows and fan pics of her and her battle suit.
I wanna make little personal shields for my tai so I took a Tau “symbol” and essentially plastic welded it to an adeptus titanicus shield bit and I’m gonna use resin and silicon molding to mass produce em. Gonna be legit AF if I can get it just right. Or it will be shit and I will make a fool of myself either way fun times ahead this weekend
Given my fat fucking fingers and inability to do anything right I’m amazed this is coming along so well. Got a rough shield shape and a combat short blade looking just different enough so that when I paint it up and it’s glued to a waist or back you won’t be able to tell it’s a Frankenstein monster of three different blades I welded together with spruce goo.
Still might change the shield though I like the small square but a buckler would probably fit better. Something small and round that can be moved easily in a ship or hive city without getting in the way. And if my luck holds with the green stuff maybe give it a spike in the center idk
Just shaved the Aquila off a squad of guardsmen. Gotta say as a hater of the imperial cult it felt satisfying. They will make fine servants of the greater good

They were hiding in a box of basing bits and foliage flocking ironically enough
My crisis suit pilots got their hands on space marine power weapons
The marines weren’t using them anymore as they were sent to be with their god emperor at rail gun velocity after their battle barge was caught unawares
As I repair and customize my old models I have found out the Horus heresy bayonets fit perfectly into Tau rifles
Digging its vibe for my sect of aggressive fighters and gue'vesa

Tau Genestealer Cultists

Hey everybody, back again with my art! I thought I'd come out with my designs for if some A.I.s had a robotic, more mobile form. I kinda wanna go through my thoughts about their designs, so here we go!
HAL 9000: I wanted him to be very human-like with a lot of his details resembling human muscles. No colors, and all monochrome except for his bright red accents. I imagine he was built to be more so function over form, so he's kind of simple compared to the other A.I.s. His outfit is very professional - suit, tie, and all. His cape being a reference to his memory banks, since I love that scene despite how sad it is.
AM: Now I also wanted him to be human but in a more spooky, skeletal way. Very hunched over, broken down, and needing repairs. He has a little monitor where his heart would be that says HATE. Also, I took away AM's leg privileges, so underneath his HATE cloak is just more confusing wiring. I also want to reference the HATE monolith, so his entire cloak is covered in the word, hate. If that doesn't scream AM, I'm not sure what does.
Edgar: Edgar basically has 2 different designs - The design of the movie, and the design of the poster. To combine them I made most of his body based on the one in the movie, like taking his monitor from the movie and putting some limbs on it. He also gets a devil headband and clip-on belt to reference his more common, movie poster design. Edgar also gets the comfiest wardrobe with a heart tee-shirt and jeans.
TAU: Now TAU gets a very odd body shape, mostly because I wanted him to match Aries, (The robot in the movie) but in a less threatening way? Also floating limbs, because I said so. TAU actually has quite a few colors, despite advertising just using red, so he gets a gradient of red to green in his accents. I tried for the life of me to give him a wardrobe, and the closest I could get was a little, see through cloak. :(
You know, I didnt ever get to post this piece during Halloween, but I thought I'd at least show you the piece after all this time! Odd time to post this, but I was cleaning my files and saw this collecting dust. (*￣▽￣)b
AM is dressed as an angel, HAL is a neon skeleton, Edgar is dress like a demon, and TAU is attempting to be a ghost!

Honestly this painting wasn't made with tau in mind (I do really like drawing sheep that much) but these would absolutely make for some lovely flock designs.
Some flock concepts I've been doodling during lectures.
Their names in order of appearance are: Wild Blue Yonder, Plethora, Buttercup the Ravenous, Lady Sparkles, Scrutiny of many eyes, Wear & Tear and Mirth the Relentless (she's the only dream whose age could compare to that of nightmares and probably one of Mabel's favourites, not that she'd ever let that on)
In summary I really like coming up with silly sheep and still can't get over tau.
