South Of Carina Nebula
With natal dust clouds in silhouette against glowing atomic gas, this colorful and chaotic vista lies within one of theΒ largest star forming regions in the Milky Way galaxy, the Great Carina Nebula.Β The telescopic close-upΒ frames a field of view about 80 light-years across, a little south and east of Eta Carinae, the nebula's most energetic and enigmatic star. Captured under suburban skies improved during national restrictions, a composite of narrowband image data was used to create the final image. In it, characteristic emission from the nebula's ionized sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms is mapped toΒ red, green and blue hues, a color palette also popular in Hubble Space Telescope. The celestial landscape of bright ridges of emission bordered by cool, obscuring dust lies about 7,500 light-years away toward the southern constellation Carina.

Asteroids are often viewed as harbingers of mystery and awe, remnants from the early solar system that continue to orbit the Sun, occasionally passing close to Earth. One of the more recent celestial bodies to grab attention is Asteroid 2024 PT5, a newly discovered near-Earth asteroid (NEA) that has been added to the growing list of space objects tracked for their proximity and potential risk toβ¦
We went to the local observatory tonight but when we got there, there was a HUGE line of people. Whoops. Itβs was still really pretty and we got to see an amazing view of the stars.
These are my attempts to take a picture of the sky with my phone but they didnβt turn out very well. I donβt even remember what I was trying to photograph. Next time, Iβll try to bring an actual camera.
I think the brightest one in the left picture might be Jupiter???? lol π₯²
