Ranma pretended he didn't hear a word of that statement. He knew she would get worked up if he teased her for worrying so much. There were was nothing to worry about after all. Ranma did get into a lot of trouble and it has caused him to get hurt, but all of those situations have made him stronger. Much stronger. No one and no injury would stop him.

❝ So you decided that the moment I had to go? Could of had your own trip, but you wanted to tag along. Can't get enough of me huh? ❞ He stuck his tongue out and that smug grin remained on his face. Akane was a tough fighter, and Ranma knew that first hand. He's seen her fight and has fought her himself. She's not someone to mess with... yet Ranma found it so fun to made her mad.

As she stood in his path, Ranma was forced to stop. ❝ The sooner the better. That's why I've got my backpack and been making my way to the train.❞ His eyes clothes momentarily, then he shifted to open one to gaze at her. ❝ I guess if you're not ready to leave right away I'll have to leave you behind..❞

Ranma soon began to softly hum.

Here he goes once again assuming the worst from her. Almost makes her want to take it back and stay home to curse him out loud ( keyword : ALMOST ━ she's not willing to skip on this adventure just yet. Might take a little more nagging to make her change her mind ). ❝ I'm not ━ ! ❞ The initial shyness in her features turns instinctively into a complete frown, puffing out her cheeks in the process. She's being reasonable, amenable to his preferences, and in return all she gets are false accusations demeaning her as a nuisance, CLASSIC RANMA.

If her concern towards the other wasn't bigger than the headaches he provoked, she would be the first one in line expecting his departure. Should consider himself LUCKY for Akane's heavenly patience.❝ Idiot, I'm doing this because I'm worried about y━ ❞ She cuts herself short, turning her gaze away from him. Her clenched fists drop for good and a pout grows wider. Akane doesn't know why she even bothers explaining herself, he will jump straight to his own conclusions either way.

❝ Whatever, I can use this trip to train as well. ❞ At the end of the day, she's a martial artist just as much as him. Besides tagging along for OBVIOUS REASONS she has decided to keep for herself, a change of scenario could be a great opportunity for her own training. ❝ I'm ready to push my limits too, you know ? ❞ When Ranma laughs, she huffs. His path gets blocked by a DETERMINED GIRL willing to get her way. ❝ So, when are we leaving ? ❞ She isn't taking a no for an answer.

December was here, which meant that it was getting colder by the day. Ranma acted like it didn't bother him too much, but it was just a cover to not seem desperate for warmth. Even the little things such as that could be considered as he's weak. He's so darn stubborn. ❝ It was smart to bundle up today. It's colder then they said it would be. ❞ Akane had more coverings then he did, but Ranma found his coat and scarf enough.

Anyone could see right though that tough facade, especially Akane. Ranma's exterior started to shiver, especially his lips. He did his best to cover his complaining in his scarf, but it seemed it wasn't enough. Akane put him to a stop. ❝ Hm? Shouldn't we keep moving? ❞ She silenced him as she moved in closer and zipped his jacket all the way up. There was a big gap which allowed the wind to reach his chest.

He felt his cheeks warm up, but hope he could blame the weather for why he started to appear flushed. ❝ Ahh... thanks. Guess I was in a real rush this morning. ❞ She smiled and continued to walk ahead. Somehow, even though the wind continued to freeze them both, Ranma felt his body start to slowly warm up.

For once, he remained silent.

Everything was all packed. It wasn't unusual for Ranma to go on a trip with his father to build up his strength, but this time Ranma wanted to go on his own. He needed to put all the pressure on himself and have no help at all. Ranma didn't think it be a big deal, he leaves all the time. He just left a note behind for his father to pass around. Simple. Or so he thought.

At first he told himself he was imagining Akane's voice, but there was no denying it. ❝ Akane? ❞ He turns around to face her, she caught up to him rather quickly.

❝ Hey. I was just leaving. If you didn't know I'm going on a trip. We're on break from school so it's perfect... no big deal, I'll be back soon. ❞ Ranma thought it would end right there, but Akane was quick to respond. 'you were going to leave without saying goodbye?' Now why did she have to go and say that? Ranma's heart suddenly felt heavy. He hated it.

❝ It's no a big deal! I'm not going away forever! I just think it's best if I go alone.❞ Truth? He wouldn't mind if she came. But he was sure Akane would be worried about him, and theres a good chance they might bicker the whole time. ❝ I'll be back soon okay? Sorry I... didn't say goodbye. ❞

Ranma was in his own world as he made his preparations. He took training seriously. Especially when his father was watching over him. Ranma has a ton of pressure from his father, he uses his harsh tactics to make him stronger. ❝ Oh? ❞ He said as he came back into reality. ❝ Sureeee. You just wanna tag along so you can criticize everything I do yeah? ❞

Once his backpack was secured. he crossed his arms behind his head. Honestly, he wanted her to tag along. He wanted Akane to see him become stronger and how strong he was already. He loved to show off. Of course he wouldn't say any of this out loud. He rather just be a jerk about it.

❝ Well, I'll make sure to thank Kasumi for saving me. ❞ He gave a foolish grin, laughing to himself. ❝ Seriously, you better not complain. I'm ready to push the limits with my training. ❞

❝ I'm not tagging along because I like you or anything, @proudfighter ! ❞ And if she does, who even cares ( she knows he doesn't ). ❝ I - I'm doing it because ━━ ❞ C'mon Akane, think of an excuse, a great one that won't make him suspect anything. ❝ Because my father ordered me to ! ❞ Not entirely wrong yet more than an order it had been a SUGGESTION.

His monthly trip for an intense weekend of training has come and just like before she wishes to go. Behind her rough exterior Akane shows her tenderness in the constant concern she holds for the other, worrying endlessly on her mind though never saying it out loud. She wants to make sure he'll be SAFE AND SOUND from beginning to end, a guarantee that everything will work out regardless of the adversities they come across to. Perhaps if he knew of such thoughts, he wouldn't be so reluctant to let her join. . .
