My friend challenged me to go to school today with a Kokichi personality. So I did! And it was the best thing ever. Seeing the confused faces of the annoying kids in my class was hilarious!
don’t you just hate it when you’re looking up a character you love and all of a sudden google autofills “death” after their name? how about all those people that don’t tag their posts as spoilers? what about when you’re looking for good fics on a series you haven’t yet finished and are suddenly assaulted by “no beta we die like charlie bradbury”
i would like to propose a solution. let’s all collectively start googling “death” for characters that never died. let’s gaslight google into thinking percy jackson got hit by a bus. lets tag our fanfiction “alec hardison you live on in my heart.” let’s call our cousins and cry about shawn spencer’s tragic passing for forty minutes. let’s make posts about how mad at marvel we are for blowing up miles morales. let’s complain about how pointless and ridiculous it was for samantha carter to just randomly die in an explosion.
let’s confuse everyone so much that no one will ever know whether kaylee frye drowned in quicksand or whether ron weasley got tuberculosis or if luke strangled leia or molly hooper was burned alive or whether foggy nelson got shot in front of a bar
today at work this teenager came up to me and asked “do you get paid?”

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.

i have to really watch myself for what motivates my game-making sometimes like am i doing this because it's artistically or technically meaningful or am i doing this because i lost a week playing some silly half-assed timewaster and want to inflict revenge on mankind by making my own

ennea is a prefix meaning nine (my favourite/special/lucky number). tone is from dialtone as in phones, but is also meant to combine with the A in ENNEA to be ATONE. just sounded cool. added the ring to make it more unique and not get me confused for being a musician because it's similar to "enneatonic"
the idea of using ennea in the title also comes from a concept I had of a story involving my little persona character

I'm having another blog identity crisis, not over my user this time but over the fact that I have a blog for fandom and one for original instead of them just being the same. though now that I think about it I probably just don't like it because they're separated, I'd love for like... to have a little panel of blogs you have. like for OTHERS to see and know you're connected and whatnot. they're so separate AHHH

wait I have a good idea..........hypothetical name of a game idea I had which would have been about this very situation (trying to find a styling and presentation which feels both cool and special to me) I won't tell you yet though.

The only three things separating Stanley Parable from being any ordinary horror game which plays in some abandoned, yet seemingly still fully functional office complex, are
1, the lights don't suddenly turn off,
2, You have company whilst being in some creepy, abandoned office building,
And 3, the disembodied voice, which happens to be said company, which follows you everywhere and monitors every decision you make isn't actively trying to kill you or scare the crap outta you.. (let's ignore some of the endings in which he did)
If you take away all three points, this game would definitely be a very creepy horror game.

Idk who needs to hear that, but using a shit ton of references for art is valid. Tracing, as long as you credit the person if it's very identical and if you post it, is valid. You learn by doing. So if you trace something enough, you'll eventually be able to draw the previously traced piece from memory, and you can adapt it to whatever you want. Be it a different style, a different pose, a different palette.. Same with references.. That's what they're for, people. Tracing isn't illegal, neither is using references, no matter how cheap that feels.
That's just how we learn. So, would you rather be stuck and eventually give up because you can't get it right? Or will you seek help by the very tools given to artists so they can learn these things?
It's literally in the Sesame Street opening.. Not sure if it's in the English version, but a german verse in there was always "Sometimes you have to ask to understand these things!". So ask. Ask google, ask people around you who draw, ask Google for references, ask. Just ask, guys
