I don't mean to offend any Darklina stans, but y'all do remember that the Darkling did unforgivable things like, I don't know, hurt all of Alina's loved ones (Genya, Mal, Bahgra, Nik, etc.) and doing so happily. This man felt no remorse over those things and even said himself that he wouldn't stop until he has stripped everything away from her. You're seriously going to sit there and tell me that Alina should've chose an abusive war criminal..? Yeah, Totally sounds like a healthy and suitable choice
And this is just a small portion of the horrible things he's done
