These R The Only Houses I Agree With - Blog Posts

Voltron Hogwarts Houses

Nobody asked for this, but it’s an important topic on which I’m morally obligated to express my opinions on

Shiro- Hufflepuff I was considering Gryffindor at first because at first glance that’s how it seems, but looking deeper, I think Shiro isn’t as Gryffindor as people think. Gryffindors are leaders and Shiro is a leader, yes, but I think he’s hardly concerned with his status as leader. Shiro involves the whole team and guides them more than he leads them. Gryffindors aren’t concerned with consequences and are willing to take risks without considering their effects. That is definitely not Shiro.  Focusing more on his Hufflepuff characteristics, he’s loyal, determined, hardworking, grounded, and group-oriented.

Keith- Gryffindor Gryffindor. No question. He is almost the perfect example of a Gryffindor. Yeah, he might be a bit standoffish and kinda introverted and not really in it for the glory, contrasting the idea of a golden, extroverted spotlight Gryffindor, but he’s got like every single aspect that defines a Gryffindor. He’s rather impulsive and reckless, he’s got a A+ Gryffindor temper, and he’s courageous, loyal, daring, and definitely morally driven to do the right thing.  That being said, I don’t know that it would be a good idea to put Keith in Gryffindor. Comparatively to how he was when he would’ve attended Hogwarts, the environment likely wouldn’t have helped him grow as a character. One of Keith’s big flaws was his recklessness. He “bravely” didn’t care or think about the consequences of his actions, nearly got himself killed a few times, and occasionally put others in danger because of “bold” “brave” and “courageous” behavior that would’ve been encouraged (and in turn worsened) by a Gryffindor environment.

Lance- Slytherin This is one of the debatable ones. Lance could very well be on the Slytherin-Gryffindor line. Lance has two different sides to evaluate, though. He has his external personality, what he lets everyone see, and his internal personality, the things he tried to put on the back burner or even hide about himself. That’s a big part of why I see Lance as a Slytherin. Slytherins are phenomenal at hiding things and keeping secrets, just like Lance hid all his worries and insecurities behind a “larger-than-life” facade. Yes, Lance is chivalrous, a Gryffindor trait, but that can also be interpreted as being charming, a Slytherin trait. Lance mostly exemplifies Slytherin in the form of his ambition. Lance always wanted to be the best. Yes, he wanted glory and that could mark him as a Gryffindor, but he shows more Slytherin to compensate for that (so to speak). Lance isn’t impulsive and thinks things over before executing, he’s resourceful, and he holds enough concern over his reputation to be considered a Slytherin. I don’t think he’d necessarily want to be a Slytherin, though. He’d likely be attracted by the glory of Gryffindor and ignore all of his Slytherin traits. He’d probably look at Slytherin’s misleading, dark reputation and decide he’d rather be associated with the heroes of Gryffindor. (Which is really a shame because I love the idea of Slytherin Lance as much as I believe he truly belongs in Slytherin)

Pidge- Ravenclaw I wanted to put Pidge in Slytherin, especially because it’s her character taken only at face value by many that just plop her in Ravenclaw because she’s smart. What changed my mind was the curiosity. Pidge is attracted by problems that need solutions. She’s naturally compelled to solve problems and discover new information. She perfectly exhibits the Ravenclaw aspect of curiosity. Honestly, I know this is a short explanation, but I think the rest is right there and pretty self explanatory.

Hunk- Hufflepuff This is literally the most self explanatory of them all. Yes, Hunk is smart and curious (though not to Pidge’s extent), and could debatably be put in Ravenclaw. But Hunk is still the best Hufflepuff like ever. He’s kind, grounded (the voice of reason half the time), selfless, determined, hardworking, and most of all he needs that easy access to the kitchens.
