Michelangelo is super under appreciated and hereās why (tmnt comic spoilers ahead)
It drives me nuts when people boil Mikey down to āthe dumb oneā or āthe silly oneā (Iām looking at you 2012) because he is not just a one-dimensional character. He has many layers.
Mikey is such an important part of the team because of his compassion and empathy. He has a deep emotional connection with his loved ones, and seeks to connect even with their foes in hoping to stop the fighting. I would go as far to say he is more emotionally intelligent than his brothers, and every decision he makes is guided by his heart, which is a driving point of his character.
Hereās a few examples of things heās done that reflect this point:
Becomes friends with Woody, who works at a pizza place and is able to bring them pizzas
Trying to defuse the fight with Slash when the turtles first met him, and later when he finds out Slash is part of the mutanimals gives him candy and befriends him.
Leaves Splinter when he decides to lead the foot clan because Mikey knows it will only lead to more violence. His brothers try to convince him to come back, but after Splinter tells Jenny to kill someone they realize Mikey was right and leave Splinter as well.
Holding a Christmas party to raise the spirits of his brothers after they left Splinter
Becoming friends with all of the mutanimals, even though he disagrees with Hob and the things he does
And thatās only a couple examples. The point is that Michelangelo deserves more appreciation. It probably saddens him that he isnāt able to live normally among humans, but it never stops him from making a friend around every corner.
Which is why every time I think of Mikey I always think of the quote āHe wishes only to loveā¦and to be loved.ā And honestly? He deserves to.

Living a normal happy life was not possible for her. From losing her parents at 5 years old, to gaining another father figure who becomes a mutant, and two brothers who were stranger than they seem. To training the art of Ninjitsu with her new father and brothers, she begins to make discoveries about herself. With that she teaches them the ability of mystic powers, which at first turns out to be a disaster. As they all learn their new ability's, they come to use their new found powers as they face the being who destroyed NYC, his name is Lou Jitsu...but what happens when something goes awry and they end up in another universe. One where Lou Jitsu is good and hes a father of 4 Mutant Ninja Turtles?

I figured since theirs so many AU'S out, I wanted to create one of my own. Ill admit I'm not sure where this series will head, but hopefully it turns out to be a good one since I recently just got back in the mood to write, hopefully I can actually make this a good series...anyway! This idea came to me a few days ago and I figured id share it since I grew inspiration and motivation to write again from EternalGlitch's story "Like Father Like Son". I highly suggest reading it, it made me cry and get angry at certain moments. So please follow them, give their story a read!
Their will be warnings since this series will get very morbid and dark at times, so I would suggest if you are not comfortable with those types of stories then do not read it.

I was requested by @magicmike5000 to share my opinion about what I think of Mikey, and I simply can not refuse such an opportunity to rave about one of the most intricate and fascinating characters of TMNT franchise.
*pushes up glasses with a clearing of my throat* Behold the ramblings of an insane person:
*I love how Mikey is unapologetically himself at all times, in all things and in all places
*I think heās an incredible asset to the team who is unfortunately underestimated and appreciated.
*I be always affectionately considered him to be the the cheese that holds this whole turtle pizza together and it just wouldnāt be the TMNT without him.
*Mikey has fascinating undeveloped and growing potential that is so unfairly unexplored.
*His simple pure goodness is far reaching and a total game changer which I absolutely adore.
*Heās one of those rare few good people and I genuine believe that heās the type of person where the world is a better place simply because heās in it
*Mikey is refreshingly emotionally intelligent, empathetic, spiritually intuitive, and is CANONLY the most suited for ninjitsu out of all of his brothers.
*Heās a subtle master at ninjitsu due to his flexibility and adaptability.
*Mikey is fascinating to study in action because due to his ADHD it allows him to react quickly and work with what he has within the environment.
*It doesnāt matter his size or strength (even though he is woefully under appreciated for his strength) m because he knows how to use energy and motion against his opponents on MANY different facets.
*Mikey also doesnāt even necessarily needs to be the smartest either because he knows how to read the situation and interact with people and situations of all types.
*Bottom line, I love Mikey and I personally affronted that he is so unexplored as a character. Itās a down right CRIME I tell yāall that he and I canāt be besties because I feel like we would vibe like none otherš§”

holy shit...I just finished reading taizi's Problem Child on ao3...that was an unbelievable experience. I mean this is the kinda fic that makes you not just miss the charcters, but grieve them like they're real people. The characterization is absolutely godlike. I mean this is the kinda fic that makes you want to read fanfiction about it. I'm literally a changed person after this. I think there's more fics in the series though so it's not over yet. (IT CANT BE OVER YET)

Or: Michelangelo's brothers deal with their grief and trauma in different ways after the loss of Splinter finally settles in, eventually, they all leave in one way or another-- only he remains. It doesn't help that something is lurking in New York.

I've never seen someone do an animatic on paper before, but I can't be bothered with digital. Also this fanfic is literally so good that it inspired me to plan all of this out immediately after I finished reading it.
Also, I didn't see any Tumblr attached to this authors page, but if any of you know it I'd be happy to tag them in the final product.
Hopefully I can make some good progress with my 3-day weekend, though there's still quite a few scenes i need to do :/ I don't even know how detailed I'm gonna make anything...I was debating adding pops of color (like for masks and stuff) but idk if I will.
Also my pencil is literally smudging SO MUCH and my pencil has an AWFUL eraser. It literally just smears it around.
If anybody has any animatic tips to make it look/feel/flow better, feel free to let me know!!
