Here is the third chapter:
And here is a spoiler without context:
Hello everyone!
I am so excited to share my first work in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandom with you! While I am a huge fan of the 2003 iteration, I have chosen to set this story in the 2012 iteration, as it fits best with the storyline I have envisioned. But do not worry—if you enjoy this, I will be posting a story set in the 2003 universe later on, so stay tuned!
This story is a loose adaptation of the City Fall arc from the IDW comics, tailored to fit the 2012 cartoon's setting. Here is the link and summary:
Title: Little Dark Age
Summary: After a devastating defeat by the Shredder during the Kraang invasion, Leonardo is captured and subjected to the dark machinations of the witch Kitsune. Bewitched and scarred, Leonardo is made to believe that the Hamato Clan is the architect of his suffering, convinced they are responsible for years of psychological and physical abuse. When Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo return to New York, they are horrified to find their presumed-dead brother now a vengeful and far more powerful adversary as the chunin of the Foot Clan.

What is the context here? 💀 Also, I can’t get enough of Leonardo doing the Christian Bale Batman voice.
They're so extra
@slady-ao3 Yeah, exactly! I think that’s what makes the moment so memorable—Leonardo’s usually the last turtle you’d expect to kill without hesitation.
Casey: [looking anxiously at the crates, where a distinct snapping noise was heard] Did you just... kill him?
Leonardo: Of course not! That would be inhumane. [He stands proudly, gesturing to the unconscious goon behind the crates.] l popped his medulla oblongata, paralyzing him for life. He can still breathe and feel Purple Dragon sadness.
Casey: [scratches his head, looking confused] ...I don't see how that's any better.
Context: During season four of the 2003 iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo drags a Purple Dragon goon behind some crates, where a distinct snapping noise is heard. This made a lot of fans theorize he actually snapped his neck, killing him. Video below:

Oh my goodness 😂 😂 😂 I love all of this so much! Now I really want to write this now, with Leonardo staying shrunk for an entire month, leading to chapter after chapter of endless hijinks. Just imagine the hilarious scenarios—Donatello carrying Leonardo around in a little sling, Raphael trying to act tough but secretly fretting, and Michelangelo relentlessly trying to use him as a toy.
I think a really underrated trope is "character gets shrunk to adorable size and hijinks ensue," and I especially want to see this used in the 2003 iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Picture this: Leonardo, either through some villain of the week, freak accident, or alien technology, gets shrunk down to roughly the size of a Barbie doll.
Donatello calls Raphael and Michelangelo into his laboratory, looking all grim and serious. The absence of their eldest brother has the younger two convinced that something horrible has happened.
Raphael: [bursts in, all worried] Donny, what the shell happened? Where's Leo?!
Michelangelo: [close on his heels, equally concerned] Yeah, where's Leo? Did something happen?
Donatello: [holding up his hands to calm them] Yes, but it’s not what you think! He’s fine. He's just... gone through a bit of a change.
Raphael: [squints] What kind of change?
Donatello: [sighs] Now, I’m going to bring him out, and you two better be on your best behavior. No laughing—this is serious.
Raphael: [crosses arms, suspicious] Serious how?
Donatello gives them a look that screams, "You'll see." He reaches under the table, carefully picks up something (or rather, someone), and gently sets Leonardo down on the table. Leonardo—now barely the height of a Barbie doll—straightens his gear and adjusts his mask, trying desperately to maintain his dignity.
Raphael: [silent, staring] ...
Michelangelo: [jaw drops] ...
Raphael: [deadpan, trying not to laugh] ...I’m not supposed to laugh, right?
Michelangelo: [slowly grins] He...is...so...AWESOME! Dude, he’s like the ultimate, super-realistic action figure! [jumps excitedly] Let me hold him! Let me hold him! Please, just for a minute!
Leonardo: [scrambles to climb up Donatello’s arm, in full panic mode] DO NOT let him hold me! DO NOT let him hold me!
Hello! I hope you're doing well!
I was wondering, what is your opinion on Raphael?
Hi! Thank you for your ask. I am doing well, though this semester is already proving to be a challenge! I hope you are doing well, too.
It is no secret that Leonardo from the 2003 iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is my absolute favorite. Honestly, I could write an entire dissertation on why, but that might be a topic for another day. That said, Raphael has a special place in my heart, too. When he is written well, he goes far beyond the "hot-headed one" stereotype-there is so much depth and complexity to his character that I find fascinating.
One of the dynamics I particularly enjoy across different iterations is the relationship between Raphael and Leonardo. It is often seen as just two alpha males butting heads, but there is so much more beneath the surface. It is a complicated, deeply-rooted bond that shows their love for each other in unexpected ways. And in my opinion, the 2003 series captured that dynamic best.
Thank you again for the ask! My first ask one actually!
This is a bit overdue but I'm the creator of the 2k3 Foot Leo story that's on Instagram!
It's been going on since last year but I finally got volume 1 finished and volume 2 is just around the corner (give me a few weeks)
Here's Pages 1-9 + V1 Cover
@thegirlwiththeninjaturtletattoos I would absolutely pay to see fan art of a shrunken Leonardo in his little glass tank. I imagine he’d need some shrunken objects to keep him entertained—maybe a tiny copy of The Art of War or a miniature pair of katanas to keep him occupied.
And the reactions from April and Casey would be priceless. I can totally picture April digging out her old Barbie collection from storage, dressing up mini-Leonardo, and making him play in the Dreamhouse with her dolls. Michelangelo, of course, would jump right in on the fun. As for Casey, I bet he would get creative—tying floss around Leonardo and lowering him down drains to unclog them or sending him into the hard-to-reach parts of his motorcycle.

Donatello: [bursts into Michelangelo’s room, wide-eyed and frantic] Mikey, have you seen Leo? I had him in his hamster ball on the kitchen counter while I made him a tiny sandwich, and now he’s gone!
Michelangelo: [surrounded by scattered action figures, hiding something behind his back, and sporting tiny bite marks on his fingers] Uh, no, nope. Haven’t seen him. Hah, get it? Seen him! Because, you know, he’s so… small.
Donatello: [crosses his arms, tapping his foot impatiently] Michelangelo, where is he, and what exactly have you done to him?
Michelangelo: [pouts, then pulls out a very annoyed, shrunken Leonardo in a tiny Silver Sentry costume, who immediately bites Michelangelo’s finger] Ouch! Hey, Leo!
Donatello: [frown wavers as he struggles to hide a smile] Did you… already take pictures?
Michelangelo: [holding his finger and grinning sheepishly while holding up his phone] Oh, you know I did!
Leonardo: [crosses his arms, muttering] I hate both of you.

Random Person: “Do you still think that Leonardo and Usagi should have gotten a rematch in the Battle Nexus considering one was poisoned mid-match?”
Me:
This is exactly the kind of ridiculousness I would expect turtle-tot Leonardo to come up with.
The fact that Leonardo somehow ends up being the big brother to literally everyone, even those way older than him, is just peak comedy. Like, Casey is a full-grown man, but when he pulls the “C'mon dude, just this once” card, Leonardo's big brother instincts kick in hard and softie that he is, giving in with an “Alright, alright.”

"Not Enough"
I am in the middle of rewatching the 2003 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles during my summer break from college, this time with my father, who had only seen bits and pieces of it when I watched it as a child. We are currently on season four, which fans often refer to as the "post-traumatic stress disorder arc" for Leonardo, as it depicts his mental deterioration and increasing anger, even surpassing that of his notoriously hot-headed brother.
While doing the dishes, I asked my father what he thought of the arc so far. He simply said, "He seems angry." I agreed, replying, "Yeah, he's angry at himself." My father responded, "Yeah, but he's also angry at his brothers." This made me pause. I knew Leonardo had moments where he was upset with his brothers for not training enough or for goofing off, but I had not thought of him as being outright angry with them.
Then my father elaborated, "He's angry because they're not perfect, like he expects himself to be." This was a revelation for me. I had always interpreted this arc as Leonardo being angry at himself for not being good enough, but it makes a lot of sense that if he holds himself to such a high standard, he would hold his brothers to the same—and get frustrated and angry when they inevitably do not meet it.
I think a less explored aspect of this arc is that Leonardo is exhausted from carrying the burden alone and was trying to share it with his brothers. However, they do not carry it the same way he does, which does not make them lesser—it just makes them young and still wanting a life outside of crime fighting. Michelangelo captures this sentiment best in the same season when he says,”I think all of you should just lay off the poor guy. I mean, it can't be fun. Always being the responsible one, and we’re the ones who really benefit. Raph's free not to think cause Leo does all the thinking for him, Don's free to dream, And I'm free to take it easy, all cause Leonardo is busy being responsible enough for all of us.”
Anyway, at the ripe age of twenty-two and in graduate school, I find myself once again feeling melancholic over little green guys.
Why does the first pic make it look like Leonardo is holding Casey's waist? 🤨 Like, he is too old for you, young man.
"When they make the villain sympathetic, that usually means it's their last appearance in a cartoon"
"Come on, Mikey, cartoons also have everything reset back to normal by the villain's next appearance"
Yeah, he hijacked it

Bro really said (ㆁωㆁ)
I really feel like Leonardo from the 2003 iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, especially during his Christian Bale Batman era, was the most likely to do this diabolical double-knee drop to an unsuspecting Purple Dragon or Foot Clan member:
Mainly because Leonardo was known the most, especially in this iteration, for making the most cunty yet graceful moves in combat.
And now I desperately need fan-art and head-canons of this.
I feel so bad for this random robot, it was a child. A CHILD. Hearing how they were talking about killing it like it was nothing hurt, and when Donnie used the flamethrower to demonstrate they were weak to heat. Dude, I felt so fucking bad. Although it was cute how this random street thug ended up adopting the robot, and genuinely showed real concern over them. THE ENDING BRO- He's sitting there holding the mask of his now-dead robot child, and CRYING?! WTF!? And the turtles acting like it's not a big deal? They are supposed to be the good guys, why can't they see how much that guy cared about his son?!
I’ve been on a personal mission to watch everything TMNT related these past few months, but I’ve been going backward. I watched the ROTTMNT series, then the movie. Then I watched the Bayverse movies, followed soon after by the 2012 series. After watching all of that, I discovered the Batman vs. TMNT movie (2019), so I watched that. Then I watched the 2007 movie. Currently, I’m watching “S1: EP1″ of the 2003 series. I’ve noticed many things throughout my time watching these shows, and I will most likely do multiple analyses on them. But for now, I’d like to mention something that has been bugging me. Raph’s accent. Each Raph has a different accent (so far), here is a list of what I’ve noticed:
ROTTMNT- 2018(/2022): Nothing special, just a basic American accent. Not a thick one, but if you listen closely you can still hear it being somewhat of a New York accent at times.
Batman vs. TMNT - 2019: More of a New York accent mixed with an American one, his gravelly voice gets in the way of being able to tell his exact accent.
Bayverse - 2014/2016: Heavy(?) Brooklyn accent
2012: Similar to ROTTMNT he doesn’t have much of an accent, except he doesn’t have any signs of a New York accent. If anything, I think I’ve heard someone with a voice just like his multiple times during my time living in Washington state. It’s not something that has a prominent accent.
2007: Definitely more of a Brooklyn accent, not as heavy as in the Bayverse. But still prominent enough to be easily recognized when he speaks.
HOWEVER-
So far, Raph’s voices have been an American accent, a New York accent, or a Brooklyn accent. So you can imagine my surprise when I start watching the episode and I hear a FUCKING AUSTRALIAN ACCENT!? LIKE?? HELLO????
As soon as I heard it I immediately thought of Steve Irwin, and now I can’t stop hearing it. It torments my mind like a plague being released upon those who have sinned. The shadows of the past Raphels watch me, they cast their piercing gaze upon my very soul. Looking upon me in shame all I can hear is the fucking crocodile man talking in place of what once was my favorite ninja turtle. I believe this is my curse, I have watched too many ninja turtles and the gods will not allow it. The mortal soul is not meant to know this much, and this is my punishment. I will forever bask in the knowledge of the TMNT that constantly resides in the back of my mind, it will pull at my mind until it breaks, and I hope it does. So then, and finally then. I will be released from my curse and brought back down to the chains of man. But alas, I know this shall not be the end. As much as I try to believe this to be my wish, I know in my soul that it is not the case. Even if I am given my escape if I am finally freed from my chains and able to walk along my mortal breathen once again. I will not accept, for I am an Icarus, and I have flown too close to the sun. My wax wings shall melt, but I will not learn. Even as I spiral down to the ground below, I will not regret what I have done. For I know that I would not have changed a single thing, that this is what I wanted. This is my curse, but it is also my desire.
o wait nvm, it’s a New Jersey accent. Srry.
This is so good, it needs WAY more attention!!
Part 5 which also is final part!
I feel so sad I forgot one training part from this comic BUT I will make it as “behind the scene” kind of short comic later. I probably will add some extra pages where Leo practicing alone since I had to leave those out as well (via time jumping) - simply because I ran out of time (plus I’ve been suffering from bad headache today a whole day so I just wanted to finish these pages as quick and good as possible).

Thank you ALL so, so much for reading, liking, reblogging and commenting this comic! <3 I honestly loved every interaction with you lovelies! :3 You probably have no idea how much every comment, like and reblog has mean to me, truly.
So, thank you all again from the bottom of my heart! *blowkisses*
Got bored, got re-obsessed with an old favorite show and decided to draw an old OC concept. I loved TMNT and bearded dragons so I figured why not combine the two. I almost went with a color morph but I like the standard coloration so much.
Character info varies between my three favorite versions of TMNT (2003, 2007 and ROTTMNT) this design is influenced by Rise the most.
So introducing Kit Hannover, human turned mutant bearded dragon, she loves loud music and her newfound agility and in the Rise version loves finding the hidden city and loves learning about the hidden sides of New York in every version. Only things she really misses about being human are not having to hide her face because people kind of freak out when they see a giant lizard and being warm blooded, having to actually think about thermal regulating is a pain
I need a Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur crossover with ROTTMNT or any TMNT iteration, really. The crossover I didn’t know I needed until now. I still need to watch more Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur though. Only watched a few episodes of it, so far.
Hello sorry to bother you with this all of sudden ,and this might be coming out of nowhere, and I’m not trying to force you or be pushy I’m just trying to get more people into this show with great potential. You can ignore this if you want. If your not interested it’s fine but Have you heard of or watched moon girl and devil dinosaur? Season 2 premier happened
The main character i love she gives me autistic vibes I’m autistic. The show has interesting characters, action ,great music, and animation ,good themes and representation, Anime references, plenty of Sailor Moon references too it even has an eyecatch season 2 is going to be more story driven if you find that interesting. It also shares the same animation studio as rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.
It be good if you also watch the season 2 episodes when they air so the ratings will be higher.
I think Disney might be trying to sabotage the show with them dropping 14 episodes on Disney + Feb 3 which has passed.and it’s only half of season 2. We have a week or two to binge it.They did similar with season 1 and the ratings where low ,please watch season 2 episodes when they air on. But more importantly also watch it on Disney + in feb and when they air it on YouTube. Unfortunately they dropped 14 episodes on Disney + so watch them all in a day if you can but also when they air the first time if you have cable.
I’m not just saying only cable just also. I’m saying please support this show. Despite that it still won 5 Emmys. Also if it’s no trouble could if it alright with you spread the word about this show to others you know like either online or irl. Time is limited!
I have seen moon girl and devil dinosaur! can confirm it's a delightful show, just a really fun watch with lots of cool animation and a fun use of color :) i don't mind promoting it at all, if anyone hasn’t seen it yet give it a shot, there’s a lot to like there ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
best scene in the whole show
