I may have rewatched double life
The fundamental problem with Scar and Grian when it comes to forming alliances is a difference of expectations. Grian is a tactician. He assumes that in a war or a big multiplayer game, you need to get yourself a loyal team. Anybody who is on your team is your buddy, anybody who isn't on your team is your enemy. That is the only way to win. Anybody who won't pick a side is not to be trusted, and he is surprised and annoyed if someone won't make their allegiances clear.
Scar, on the other hand, is a diplomat. He never thinks about forming a team because his assumption is that everyone he meets is going to be nice to him. His charisma is high enough that this is true way more often than not. Even when he is being a chaos gremlin, he tends to get away with it for much longer than he probably ought to because he is funny and charming and just a little bit intimidating. He doesn't consider people he makes deals with to be teammates because he doesn't see the world in terms of teams, but as a network of shifting relationships. He is surprised and annoyed when the web starts getting sticky, with various friends starting to want him to fight other friends.
Grian believes that loyalty deserves loyalty, and that if you are someone's teammate you protect each other no matter how you feel. Scar believes that friendship is what it is, and that relationships can ebb and flow with time and circumstance. Note that in Third Life, newly-red Scar seeks to reestablish a friendship rather than confirm that Grian is still loyal to him, and that in Double Life, Grian justifies his secret soulmate by rationalizing that the relationship will in the end also benefit Scar by keeping them safe. Note also that in Last Life and Double Life Scar wanted to live alone but work together and Grian was not at all on board with that because you can trade and borrow and joke from separate bases but you can't really protect one another.
There is always going to be friction in their alliances because Scar wants a buddy and Grian wants a teammate and those two things are not always compatible at all. It's going to be the same thing with Hermitopia because the more Grian tries to loop Scar into the team, the harder Scar is going to fight to get away, while at the same time Scar is very unlikely to actually take sides against the Hermits because they are his friends. Neither of them can get what they want from each other because neither of them have figured out how to make the other understand what it actually is.
Maybe they need another panda sanctuary. I hear that's good for communication.

I'm playing around with the idea that he's a shapeshifter who tries to look like a regular human, but there's always something off about him
for one thing, mumbo's eyes never reflect light, and they frequently devolve into little dots
and his form is inconsistent, sometimes because he just forgot what he was supposed to look like and made himself a couple inches taller, sometimes because some details slipped away because he was startled, or distracted focusing on something else

MCYT Yuri Week Day 1: Dance/Break

I think this is the first time I've drawn a MCYT ship! It was very fun, I went back and watched some episodes of Last Life while I drew this.
I'm hoping to make art for the rest of the days, but I'll probably go a bit simpler and less polished going forward so I can also have time to do responsible things like sleeping

I'm thinking of making the lighter blue ribbon things green instead, and I want to make a proper design for her wings, but i like what I've got so far! Especially the spirals ^^

I've never drawn her before so i wasn't quite sure what to do with her design, but i thought the deer hybrid features id seen people draw her with were cute :D I decided to experiment a bit with the shading and use the circle tool, not sure how i feel about it but i think i'd like to play around with it a bit more I think i'd like to draw her again, but with traditional medium. I think her design would lend itself well to watercolors. also she's a lot chibi-er here than i'd probably do in traditional. To be honest i have kind of mixed feelings about how this piece looks, it feels pretty rough to me. I do like how i did the shading and highlights on gem though
My Champion Gifs
I am planning on making “My Life Series Champion” gifs of the members who didnt win. Kinda like a poke at the “Watchers Favorite” thing, but like, more accurate to how we actually are.
I have many possible styles which I have used Impulse (and later Lim Scott) as an example
First is the speed, I could make the gifs go at 0.2 speed (1st) or 0.1 speed (2nd)
The title can also be either Rainbow, or go R-Y-G/G-Y-R. The first is same color as the hearts, 2nd is opposite (Both are in 0.2)
i could (with much struggle) also use more then one skin for those members who sometimes change their skin based on the group they were in like Ren and Scar or the life theyre on like Scott and once again Scar as seen below with Limited Life Scott (Based on heart color)
I don’t know how to effectively explain the criteria of this project so its fair to assume im willing to use any skin for any person, if I do Bdubs “beaten up” skin because its more iconic (within Life Series) than his usual skin. If someone wants Jimmys old skin, then ill do that. Im just looking for input from the community.
