Headcanon request: The sides if a girl (maybe a stranger who thinks they look safe) asks them to hold her drink while she goes to the bathroom at like a party or something?
Absolutely, I think you're asking for their individual reactions (tell me if I'm misunderstanding) so here we go—
Roman: *guards drink with his life, glares at anyone who gets near it, is very over-the-top*
Janus: I'm a stranger. Why would you ask me to watch your drink? You should just forget about this one and get a new one once you're back so you know for certain it's safe. Or don't drink at parties. You never know who you can trust.
Remus: Yeah sure *sets it on top of head, holding onto it still* No one can reach it up here
Patton: Oh of course! You go ahead I've gotcha
Logan: No. You shouldn't give a stranger your drink. I could drug it for all you know. Take it with you, leave it with a friend, or get a new one after.
Virgil: Uhhh
Virgil, internally: Oh god what if I accidentally drug it?? I don't have any drugs but what if I do? I'd go to prison! I could hurt her!
Virgil: *shoves Roman in front of him* He can watch it!
Believe It Or Not, Deceit Is Good At His Job
Let's ignore that Janus is mostly self-preservation at this point rather than 'Deceit'
Everyone seems to think Janus is a really bad liar. For example: when he imitated Logan, he wore the wrong tie, said 'lies,' and used an idiom.
But then when Virgil showed up, he snapped at him for 'ruining his dramatic entrance.' He totally expected them to figure him out. He planned it, because he's too Extra to just show up as himself.
More proof:
Selfishness vs Selflessness redux. Nobody knew he'd replaced Logan until he told them. He had them completely fooled, as well as the majority of the viewers, I'm sure.
Selfishness vs Selflessness. Yeah, we all knew Patton was off, but how many of us actually figured out it wasn't Patton?
Virgil knew, because he knows both Patton and Janus seemingly well, but considering the Janus/Virgil dynamic, I am near certain he did that on purpose.
Would Patton have messed up referencing famous philosophers? Yes. Did Janus know that? Most likely. However, his knowledge impressed Logan, and Janus wanted the other sides to take his side. He probably figured if he got Logic on his side everyone else would follow but then realized how little they listen to Logic.
Every bit he did that wasn't exactly Patton-like, I am certain there was a clear, intentional reason behind it, even if it was just to annoy Virgil by letting him be even more sure it was actually Janus. 'Friendo'? Come on. Patton's literally the dad character. There's no way that wasn't intentional.
"Is C!Thomas capable of such deception?" you ask, because he is a bean.
Yes. No, C!Thomas doesn't lie on a regular basis or anything. But he. Is. An. Actor. Actors can lie. They can deceive.
Just because he only does it on the stage, doesn't mean his sides can't use that skill whenever. I also believe his skills in acting have a lot to do with Janus in addition to the Creativitwins but that's for another time
In conclusion: Janus can lie.
Thing I Noticed
Virgil: I freaking hated everything about this.
(Patton: Hoo, I was afraid of what you meant by "strong language".)
Virgil: Do not allow him or any of... his friends... to stick around that long ever again.
Thomas: Okay, but what—
Virgil: Ever again! Cool?
Thomas: Cool.
Virgil says this, speaking about Janus. We know that Remus is considered a friend of Janus's, however, he said 'any of his friends.' Plural.
This implies that Janus has another friend, other than Remus. Considering the split dynamic of sides, and how light sides and dark sides so far haven't been friends (though they are warming up to Janus now), it's reasonable to assume that Janus's other friend is a dark side. There are three dark sides we know of, and Virgil obviously isn't speaking about himself (he doesn't consider Janus a friend anyway).
So, with this in mind, there's two possible options:
1. There's another dark side
2. Virgil/Thomas misspoke and I'm reading way too into this
