season 3 has the most rewatch quality for me even tho i think story wise season 1 is much better. season 2 was good and i really loved all the characters and development we got but (and this is based off my rewatch from last year bc i only jumped in at season 4 this time) it fell flat for me. though i would definitely watch again i would probably gravitate more towards season three on a casual watch and not a binge.

So apparently there's this script for a tua season 1 episode that never got made. It's about their 23th birthday.
You guys.
A couple of things that stand out:
- That cross stitch Diego had in the boiler room that was so obviously a gift from Grace was a gift for his 23th birthday.
- Also, Diego went every week to visit his mom. I'm crying
- Klaus was in jail at this time, and he accidentally killed a guy in self defense.
- Allison is there but we just see her struggling not to use her powers on every day issues.
- Also apparently Patrick was her acting coach.
- She needed it.
- Luther was pathetic and I want to cry for him bc I love him so much but God was he dumb. Also the Accident happened the day after his birthday.
- Viktor had a girlfriend, who looked so sweet at first but then he found out she was cheating on him. On his birthday. Ouch.
- Five flirted with a woman named Delores in a 1940s (I think) bar, and it was so sweet and heartbreaking. He got a little kiss for dancing with her. It was great. Get it, old man.
- Five traveled to 2012 for the commission, saw Diego leave the academy, and couldn't stop himself from shouting his brother's name. I am HEARTBROKEN
- The Handler stopped him before Diego could see him, and also we have confirmation that the Handler was fucking creepy. She kissed Five after proclaiming he was hers. Five stands still and closes his eyes. I'm... feeling things. Mostly homicidal rage.
- Viktor visits Klaus in jail, which develops into the best conversation I've ever read.
- They talk about Viktor's book. Klaus is very supportive. Reading the whole script is worth it just to read that conversation JESUS CHRIST:
- Apparently, Grace announced one day at the dinner table that Diego had had his first wet dream.
- Klaus asks Viktor if he had added that lovely little anecdote into the book.
- Viktor responded with an: yeah, I did.
- Christ almighty I know understand why Diego was so fucking angry VIKTOR HARGREEVES YOU HAVE ZERO CHILL.
- Okay seriously overall that conversation is very sweet. Best klaus-viktor interaction. 10/10
- Also I find hilarious that Regginald tried to call them all separately but obviously no one picked up, so his next thought was: "well. Better start planning my own funeral".
- The quip Klaus made in the Void when he asked Reginald "couldn't you just have called?" Is a thousand times funnier knowing that the bastard DID call, but Klaus missed it bc he was in jail.

sometimes i think about five choosing to sing "i've had the time of my life" and choosing to make it a duet with klaus and pulling their other brothers up to sing with them too, and he's never been one to say what he feels, but he's always been one to show it ("you're a good brother. okay, you say something nice about me now" "let's go find your stupid birth mother.") and of all the songs to sing at the end of the world, he chooses to say that he's had the time of his life. he chooses a duet so he won't be alone. he gives himself permission to be sentimental for once, about as overtly as he can be, and his brothers join him. he's saved the world for them. twice. and he may have said fuck it to saving the world this time, but he's not gonna go out without saying "i owe it all to you"

I like how in every umbrella academy poster, Klaus is always looking at a different angle from the rest of the siblings

I think it's a nice touch of implying what his powers are since he has the power to see what other people can't, so he's always looking at a different angle
yeah so sloane and luther found each other, got remarried, and luther is the world's greatest stripper and sloane is a physicist. diego and lila went to couple's counseling and are doing better than ever. diego quit his UPS job and started a food truck selling street tacos. lila teaches mixed martial arts at a gym. allison is continuing to pursue her passion for acting and raising claire. maybe she and ray even find each other again. klaus falls in love again. he misses dave, but not everything can work out. he overcomes his hypochondria and can have fun again. five retires. he's going to learn who he is without constantly having to be on a mission. ben... is honestly probably still a bit of a selfish asshole, but he starts working on himself. maybe he gets some other kind of tech or salesman job. viktor may have been dumped by every woman in town but that doesn't mean there aren't any men for him to date. he's got his bar and his life, his violin, and maybe a dog or cat.
they're all adults, finally. they get together enough to never miss each other, but not too much so they all get annoyed with each other. with reginald dead and their powers gone, they can all finally start to move on from the past. they're no longer the children they used to be. they no longer have to be defined by their childhood and where they came from.
Can we get a SuperWhoLock but for Good Omens, Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy? Because I need that shit.
