BRO NO MY BOY

YOU'RE SO MEAN

mikey 31?

idk what direction this would go

Mikey + Gun Violence

Mikey had seen plenty of fake guns. Jupiter Jim Ray guns, obnoxious bad buy Lou Jitsu guns, even Donnie's outrageous laser guns.

He'd never seen a real one.

And he'd certainly never had one pointed at his head.

The depths of the barrel were infinitely dark and the metal outsides gleamed like the Shredder's armor.

"You get that away from him," Leo growled at the woman who held it.

The woman nodded at one of the goons that stood at Leo's shoulders. There was a dull crunch and he grunted in pain, sucking in a sharp breath.

"You really are in no position to make demands, here," the woman replied in a perfectly even voice. "You will tell me where the other one is, or the small is going to be more red than orange."

"There is no other one," Mikey managed, his voice shaking. "It's only us two."

She wacked the butt of the gun against Mikey's head and he cried out. Leo made a noise deep in his throat.

"Don't lie to me," she hissed. "I know neither of you are smart enough to hack my company's accounts. There is at least one more. And you are going to tell me where he is."

Click.

The cold cold cold cold metal barrel rested against Mikey's shell.

"...Or we'll see just how bulletproof this freak's shell is."

Mikey's wide eyes met Leo's wider ones. Mikey shook his head a fraction of an inch. Leo's face twisted, mind whirring behind his eyes.

Something warm was trickling down the side of Mikey's face. His skull throbbed where she'd struck him.

"He's-- he's--" panicking, Leo was either struggling to think of a lie, or making himself tell the truth. He squeezed his eyes shut, sagging. "I can take you to him."

"Leo, don't!"

The woman's face twisted in a horrible grin. "Great. Take me to the little thief." Her cold gaze flicked down to Mikey. "But let us lose the... dead weight."

There was one heartbeat--

One singular heartbeat--

And then--

She fired.

It was louder than he'd ever expected. The BANG went through both of his ears like a spike through his brain.

But that was nothing

NOTHING

compared to the immediate, visceral, all-consuming agony that exploded across his shell, into his shell, through his shell, through him.

He couldn't even scream.

He just slumped forward against the asphalt.

Leo's scream, however, ripped through the air, long and drawn out.

As horrible pain ripped through him, Mikey slowly realized that he was not dead. His whole shell and shoulder felt like they'd been blasted to pieces. But he wasn't dead.

Distantly, Leo was still screaming. The lady was saying something. Her foot nudged his shoulder. Icy needles seemed to burn through it.

A small and pitiful sound escaped his mouth. It wouldn't stop.

Leo sobbed in relief.

"See? He's still alive. I don't know for how long, but be assured I was merciful in my aiming." Her voice was fading.

Mikey forced his eyes open. Everything was blurry. He could see a dark stain spreading across the ground. Had she shot his upper shell and the bullet had gone through his shoulder?

The thought was terrifying.

The goons were dragging Leo away. Kicking and screaming, Leo struggled in their grip. Mikey's name fell from his lips like tears from his eyes.

"HOLD ON, MIKEY! JUST HOLD ON!"

And then they were all gone.

No one left to hear the pitiful whimpers of the bleeding boxshell.

Somehow in the last year - Kidd's gotten himself an entourage.

A half dozen were older kids that he and Killer had kicked the asses of at some point over the years. There was the not!sisters that went everywhere together, and Kidd welcomed them with a heavy heart, feeling his own former partner's betrayal even time he saw the duo. Wasn't their fault though, and Kidd was getting better about not holding that against people as of late. Throw in a handful who were just sycophants that he'd fallen in with, and then one or two city folks that ran out of luck and had headed to the Heaps to hide.

They'd been under the impression the Heaps where no man's land - they didn't know the it was Kidd's now. He'd nearly turned them away, sent them back to the city, but they'd prostrated before him and he'd never seen anyone do that before. Curiously had kept them around, nothing more.

And then Boogie had brought him another outsider, a large monster of a woman that had nothing but disdain for Kidd and clearly wanted to be anywhere but the Heaps. She had, like the others from the city, had run afoul of one of the bosses. Unlike the others, she knew immediately who he was.

"Solider Boy talks about you."

Kidd froze in place, his people turning to look at him curiosity. "Sorry," Kidd decides finally, "Don't know any solider boys."

She shrugs.

"What did you think the name drop was going to get you?"

"One more night still breathing."

"Hmm... Fine. Granted."

***

Being a teen and the boss did mean people thought he was an easy target. Unfortunately, sometimes it was people he'd given a second chance to. There weren't a lot of guns on Kutsukku - smuggling weapons past the Marines out in open waters carried too high of a risk, and few on Kutsukku had the funds for the payment demanded for them.

But just because there were not a lot of something did not mean none were on the island. Kidd just learned the hard way what a bullet felt like, hot and sharp in his side. It had completely blindsided him, not even an option in his mind, and he had stood there dumbly as his brain attempted a reboot.

A second shot never came - not because Kidd or any of his crew reacted, but instead the woman, the one from the gang Killer ran with now, stood over his crumpling assailant, rusting pipe in hand. She looked about as shocked as he did, stepping back uneasy as he was rushed by his own people.

The bullet responded to his -pull- gracefully at least, and he held the small ball of metal in his palm as someone else saw to the blood pouring out of his gut. It -sang- harmlessly in his hand now, the treacherous little thing, and Kidd -rolled- it over and over, committing its weight and song to memory so as to not ever fall victim to it or its kind again.

His man named only Sunglasses watched the little bullet -dance- in his hand uneasily, before Kidd closed his fist around it, face daring the other to make a comment.

None came.

***

"What was your name again?"

She shrugged, rubbing at the bracelets on her thick wrist. Kidd could understand that.

"Why'd you save me?"

"I told you, Solider Boy talks about you."

"You mean Killer, don't you?"

"Boss Athair doesn't think he's earn a name like that yet, took it away."

"Fuck him." Kidd growled. She smirked. "How.... how is he?"

She looked contemplative, "Quiet. He follows order, doesn't complain, and personally, I think he's damn proven himself. Ceannard, Boss Athair's second, has taken a shine to him, thinks he's got promise. Honestly, I think more of us like the two of them than Boss Athair these days."

Kidd picked at his bandages. "That's why you're here. Because you picked Killer over your boss."

"Solider Boy convinced me to leave before I ended up.. well," she gestured to the man whose skull she'd bashed in, "not unlike him."

Kidd looked at the corpse.

"He had a gun."

She nodded. "City Boss - one of the big ones. He's got god money, and delusions of grandeur. Buys up all kinda of shit, all kinds of people. Kinda man you don't tell no too."

Kidd scowled. "Well, fuck him too. That trick won't work a second time."

"Hope not." She said, so quiet Kidd almost missed it.

"Well..." he hedged, "at least while your own boss has a stick up his ass, as long as you don't mind the smell and the toxic waste, you're welcome to run with us."

On 15th July 2024, one day before dying, he wrote a post saying-

If I am martyred today, leave my frozen body on the street.

When the student society returns to the room with the victory procession, they will declare me the winner and bury me.

A loser's body will never be accepted by his parents

-Adnan Abir

Coordinator

Ani-discrimination Student Movement of Bangladesh

The boy fought fiercely and bravely; he didn't back down from the police. He had no weapon in his hand that were enough to hurt a man. But the polices continued to shoot him with a fucking rifle. He did not deserve this; he did not deserve this fate. He died with dignity; he sacrificed his life for the wellbeing of students. But unfortunately, the fascist government of Bangladesh disappointed us greatly by declaring him as a "Rajakar." Rajakars are those who collaborated with the enemy Pakistani Military Army on 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh. This is the current situation in Bangladesh guys. No student in the nation is safe after this incident. Abu Sayed came from a very poor family. His family members aren't well educated, they live in rural village. After his death, his mother and father broke down crying while saying that they raised Sayed with so much difficulty as they were very poor. Abu Sayed's sister also demanded that he deserves a proper funeral. But the sad thing is, the government will not recognize his martyrdom and declare him as a terrorist.

When will be the end of this? When will the Prime Minister finally realize that her country does not want her as their ruler anymore.

Here are some artworks of our brave Bangladeshi Students who are protesting through their arts and encouraging the students to go on with this mass protest and earn their human rights.

May God give those brave students strength, they deserve so much better. You know what they have been fighting for since the reign of Hasina? They've been fighting for Safe roads and streets, reform job quotas- are these even worth dying for?! Aren't these rights supposed to be implemented by the government itself?
