Pasting this from twt bc I want it here too, what if Susan was the one to occasionally watch the Walten kids, and with the younger ones she’d sometimes make shit up to make them do things that they have to do bc it saves brain power for having to explain stuff they wouldn’t get and it’s just funny. Also Sophie’s in on it.
“Close the door, or the ants will swarm in and carry the house away and steal everyone’s stuff.”
“Put the food away when you’re done, if you don’t they’ll come to life and try to eat you as revenge for eating other foods.”
“Eat your veggies or you’ll turn grey and stop moving”
And even go as far as to enact stuff or write fake articles or tell fake stories in case they ever question what she says. She gets lots of interesting questions from Rosemary and Jack and eventually they pick up on her method. The poor kids.
