Behold! Folks! My Goober! Angelo!
Meet Angelo Splinterson! A Dnd character I created for a campaign, who is a human sorcerer of Draconic origin and heavily inspired by Rise!Mikey XD if you can’t already tell
Fun fact: This goober totally didn’t ditch his 3 older brothers, older sister and dad back home to go prove himself or anything haha

So in this Au, F!Raph died when Cj was 5. So there’s not much to say future wise. Cuz Cj rmbs zilch
Present wise: there was inital awkwardness for Cj meeting someone he’s only ever heard stories off plus that awkwardness of meeting someone new. But it was a breath of fresh air for Case, cuz surrounded by these reminders and unfamiliarity, Raph hurts the least. In the first few days post invasion, Cj hung out a lot with Raph cuz everyone was kinda down for the count. April couldn’t be around 24/7 cuz she had to check in with her human family, Mikey was spending the first 3-5 days sleeping alot cuz mystic exhaustion plus his hands. Donnie was in his lab a lot trying to process all the events, plus fix everything the Krang broke and Leo was in his week long coma. And Splints who decided to get off the couch for once was stretched thin trying to look out for everyone and so as a result the two were kinda just smushed tgt allowing them to bond.

Overall I picture their dynamic as the most laidback (drama free). Largely in part cuz; A)Cj has less emotional hang ups cuz he doesn’t have to expand mental energy to manage his expectations or manage * cough push down cough * any crushing grief/feelings of abandonment/anger cuz said feelings of abandonment cuz he doesn’t rmb F!Raph to have an attachment, tho he does occasionally feel a bit guilty sometimes for hanging out with Raph but that’s a comic for another time.
B) while Cj is a menace. He’s also a sensible and kind (everyone say thank you F!Mikey) menace who sees how stressed Raph gets trying to wrangle all 3 brothers and feels bad about adding more to his plate. And plus is also very much aware of his mortality and others mortality cuz apocalypse. So the menace only comes out during chill time. Not on missions. Misson wise he’s just like he is in the movie trying to get everyone to stay on track. Which Raph rlly appreciates. But even during chill time Cj is arguably the “calmer” one cuz that’s just how he is as a person. Tho that calmer is debatable cuz it’s by Raph’s skewed standards of his other siblings not normal ppl standards to normal ppl Case still looks unhinged lmao.

but generally if they’re hanging out 1 on 1 (in a group setting it’s a whole diff story) Cj tries his best to not stress Raph too much. Unless the menace/cain instinct is hitting hard that day. Cuz he’s a sweet boy liek that. 😂. so they’re usually doing typical chill friend things, watching movies, sparring, sharing bout their day, . causally wandering around topside/Hidden city. With the undercurrent of Raph trade mark mother-henning and Cj depending on the circumstances either goes along with it or tries to get Raph to back off cuz it worries/irritates Cj. All in all they’re just your typical very wholesome older- younger brother dynamic

Side note: Raph and Cj are honestly lowkey relieved their hangouts/dynamic are so chill. They love their family but man do they both need a break sometimes XD. For Junior it’s cuz seeing the dead not dead version of family plus struggle of grief/ juggling his expectations for said family is exhausting and having someone whose removed from that whole situation is like phew thank god. For Raph he’s just so glad he has a little brother/sibling/friend who doesn’t have a 95% chance of turning anything (even fricking ice) into a grease fire when left unsupervised unintentionally or not. Tho tbh causal theft, looser morals and gratuitous use of blackmail and occasional pranks may not be much better. Cj is truly his fathers son 😂
*GASP a double update?? I swear I had more story driven/lore things planned but this grabbed ahold of my brain and wouldn’t let go. So Friendly reminder that Junior is most definitely a gremlin. Cuz you can’t convince me that Mr “I was raised by the Hamatos, O’Neil and by one very feral Casey senior” did not come out of it the slightest bit unhinged. It’s just a little.. subdued rn. But mark my words once he gets settled in.. hehe the P!Hamato fam are in danger. LET MY BOI CAUSE CHAOS, he makes doctor delicate touch proud XD

Timeline wise this takes place much further down the line (maybe a year or 6-8 months after the invasion??) where Cj feels more settled in with the P!Fam/ is no longer constantly bogged down by grief/survivors guilt/ feeling that he betraying the older part of his family by loving and feeling settled with the P!Fam(not that he doesn’t still feel it but ya get what I mean, he has more good days than bad days). Hence his more jovial (chaotic) behaviour and his Ninpo being back.

Sophie if you’re see this, I just want to say thank you. Your fics been such a huge source of comfort to me during trying times and inspiration to me ( heck your fic, “Where the Cherry Blossoms bloom (that’s where I’ll be)” is what literally inspired me to make Healer!Cj’s Ninpo teal). I don’t know what I did for you to regularly comment on my Healer!Cj posts but I just want you to know that such acknowledgment is so very encouraging and it means so much to me. Esp when it comes from someone whose stories I love/admire so much. Your ability to write such nuanced, realistic and wholesome dynamics and emotions in such a raw but organic way is incredible to me. But that’s enough mushiness for now. Hope you like this gift heheh and I hope my silly little au was able to bring you just a fraction of the joy I felt reading your stories and I hope you have an awesome day! Now see ya~😜

Aka: the consequences of having a power so heavily dependent on the user’s feelings of trust and connection to their family. What happens when they no longer feel they belong?
Idk where this is in the timeline but it definitely takes place a few days/a week after this.
Received a comment on ao3 and I realise it has been a while since I updated LMLY (yikes). So here’s a quick snippet of chapter 11 until then:
(Leo’s sixteen and he’s ended the world.
Sixteen, and all it took was one dumb, idiotic mistake.
He hadn’t known it at the time, the key was just something the Foot were after, another villain of the week sort of deal. And it was fine. They’re used to that. The Shredder was gone, and the Foot were well past their heyday. They were a cult of maniacs with no leader to their name, nothing more.
Only it wasn’t a villain of the week.
Only there are worse things out there to fear than the Shredder.
Only that key—and oh how Leo’s stomach had plummeted when Splinter told them this, unknowing of what Leo had done, what he had unleashed—was the only thing stopping the krang from escaping their prison. Beings once from the stars. Conquerors, annihilators, enslaving world after world they came across.
This was more, so much more.
This is generally set over the course of a few days to maybe a few months post-invasion. Generally speaking, Casey has always struck me as a doer not a thinker. He can never sit still, And coupled with a new environment, unsettled by lack of familiarity, insecurity over not having anywhere else to go, not wanting to be a burden/wanting to help his family (even if they’re different) and fueled by a need to manage (*cough ignore *cough) his crushing grief and general anxiety. Casey does what he does best and moves… to an unhealthy degree.
OK FOLKS! It’s Theory time!
Posting this now here so I can say I called it!
Ladies and gentlemen I hate to be the bearer of bad news but guys I don’t think we should be getting too excited over the fact that future Leo came to visit.
Cuz if anyone has seen the leaks from andy_suriano insta (which im pretty sure we’ve all seen cuz F!Donnie’s design is all over the internet) before it was taken down cuz insta stories are icky. we all know that future raph and Donnie are still alive in this comic Which means this is a younger version of F!leo before the events of the movie. And from this pic:
We can surmise that mikey was likely messing around with his magic/practicing his magic.
Plus with the (reasonable) assumption that the IDW doesn’t wanna break the movie’s continuity cuz that would be very very stupid (that’s 2 verys) . This can only mean one thing:
Through some weird timey whimey shit, younger F!mikey makes a time portal that, (based of younger F!leo’s dialogue of Noooo) younger F!Leo accidentally goes thru. Which then sends younger F!leo to the past.
AND based of teen!Donnies dialogue of “there goes the space time continuum again”. The past, younger F!leo is sent too, takes place after the events of the movie. This allows for the events of the movie to still happen cuz it was obvious in the movie that the past!turtles didn’t know the krang. so F!leo being sent to a past that was post movie make sense makes sense to preserve the canon. No brainer there.
However, this is where it starts getting sad, since obviously F!leo still dies in the apocalypse and the F!Leo we see in the comics is likely a younger version of the F!leo we see in the movie due to the fact that raph and Donnie are still alive. I strongly suspect that in order to keep continuity and ensure that the past!turtles’ timeline still exists. The F!Leo in this comic will return back to his future to live out his days till the inevitable events of the movie. Where we can assume that F!Mikey, who presumably got better control of his powers, makes a second time gate (which is the one we see in the movie) and manages to control where in the past he wanted the gateway to lead too, which was the day the key was stolen. This ensures that the events of the movie kinda make sense. Ie: why the past turtles are still clueless of the krang cuz this second gateway technically opened up before the first one. Yeh kidna confusing I know.
This could also explain why F!Leo and F!Mikey in the movie seem so certain about the gateway and that it will work. Cuz if the comic goes the way I think it goes, they know the gateway will work cuz it’s happened before.
This then leads to some very very (once again 2 verys) heartbreaking implications cuz it could mean that F!leo and F!Mikey (idk bout F! Raph and Donnie) knew or at least suspected deep down that the resistance was always doomed to fail but despite it all, they kept hoping and trying and trying and pushing the time gateway off to a last resort cuz they rlly just wanted to be wrong and man does that hurt my heart 😭.
But hey, I could be wrong and it’s just me and my overly pessimistic brain. And hey, rmb folks! it’s all just a theoryyy. A COMIC THEORRY!!
TLDR: F!Leo is NOT here to stay and thanks to the events of the comic, deep down he was always kinda aware that the war in his timeline was one he and his brothers were always doomed to lose. But kept trying anyways
