Hello! It’s here, for the fourth year in a row:
2025’s Wxwood Week will actually be two weeks: May 18th to May 31st!
But this time, we decided to do things slightly differently. Instead of a just a few people selecting the themes, we let our lovely community over on Discord suggest and pick the themes for this year's event, as well as voting to have a double week! (By the way, if you wish to see more Wxwood year-round, go check out our server! 👀)
Speaking of themes... Here they are!
How this works:
If you decide to do all 7 main prompts in the suggested order, you could spend two days on each prompt pair! And you could choose one of the two themes, or combine the two themes, or do a separate piece for each theme. Fanart and fanfiction are both welcome.
However, don’t feel pressured to do all the prompts, or in this specific order! Additionally, you can take more than two weeks, if that’s best for you. Wxwood week submissions will still be reblogged to this sideblog until the end of June; the only difference is that this might take longer to be done than in May.
Also, here are some bonus prompt pairs, an idea inspired by @starving-mimi’s Maxwil week. (This has been done with their consent, of course!) The bonus prompts can be done instead of any main prompts that you might be stumped on or less inspired for! Or, if you really want to, you could even do all 11 pairs-
To participate, you can either post here on Tumblr, or in our Wxwood discord server, or both!
If you post on Tumblr, be sure to either @ this blog, or tag your work #wxwood week 2025
If you post on Discord, you can do so in wxwood-art-channel (for visual art), or fanfiction-masterpost (for writing), or the events channel (for either) with a mention of which theme/s you used!
As for NSFW content:
No one’s stopping you from doing it, but it probably won’t be reblogged to here, unless it’s just mildly suggestive. Gore and some other intense content is allowed on both this sideblog and the discord, as long as it isn’t bigoted or otherwise extreme. Please include trigger warnings! Also, on tumblr, you should use content labels (or put the work under a read more), while on discord, you should spoiler the work. Overly suggestive content isn’t allowed in the server.
We'd like to see if this format works for you, and if it does, we'll repeat doing it from this year forward! If you have any questions, feel free to ask in this sideblog’s messages, or in this post’s comments section, or on discord!
