After Xperia Z3 we expected that Sony will take a vocation for a year, but they have decided otherwise and started to work on the next version of the smartphone flagship under a code name Sony Xperia Z4 according to the consequential place in the Series.
Current version of the phone appeared to have a success for the company and acquired a plenty of positive reviews, the biggest part of which was addressed to the magnificent 20,7MP camera becoming a benchmark for all the smartphones on the market. On the other hand the front facing camera with 2,2MP appeared to be insufficient for the premium phone and have received a lot of negative comments towards the maker.
It is expected that Xperia Z4 will have a 22MP rear camera or in the worst case we will see the same 20,7MP Exmor RS sensor with an automatic focus capable to shoot in 4K quality under the water just as before. Nevertheless it is quite important and we foresee more information to know for sure. Another cornerstone matter of the upcoming device is the front facing camera the company is willing to embed on its face. Is it going to be an old noise absorbing sensor or a more attractive 8MP one will be used? Maybe the engineers will go further to stand in a line with HTC Desire Eye, which received 13MP retina for selfie purposes.
Anyway if you choose the Z4 model you should clearly understand why you made this choice instead of any cheaper device. But actually all other specs are also upgraded to have the graphics boosted. According to recent rumors the new Xperia will be equipped with a 64-bit Eight Core Qualcomm processor 2,8 GHz Snapdragon 810 and an Adreno 430 GPU paired and able to process any of the 4K and FullHD video at 30/60fps with no delays and visible bugs.
The RAM capacity will reach 4GB for the first time increasing the current standard for the flagships 30% more. The internal flash-memory storage space will be 32GB, 24GB of which the user will be able to use as he wishes. Another upgrade is the 5,5-inch Quad HD IPS display with a resolution equal to 2560х1440 pixels. And at last we can finally expect it to be the first smartphone from Sony to have an LTE 6 category support allowing you to upload your photos and video files on the Cloud service with a speed 300/50 Mbps along with an essential Bluetooth 4.1 aboard.
According to preliminary updates we can expect the Xperia Z4 release will be performed at the Mobile World Congress 2015 scheduled on February and we'll have a possibility to touch it as well on March 2015. We have started to monitor this guy and we'll revert as soon as any updates have triggered our attention.
