How on earth people still vote for the man that did nothing to solve the energetic crisis of the country, for the same man that left us 14+ hours without power daily, the man that sat there and waited for winter and rains to start. How can anyone vote for the man that was scammed during the purchase of electric generators because surprise surprise no one in his damn government bothered to check that they were buying from a ghost company. I know that it’s almost impossible to change the country for the better in one year considering that the previous governments never donde shit, but he was elected to give us solutions during his year of work, Noboa raised taxes to 15% to “fight” insecurity when he promised he wouldn’t touch the people’s money, it’s 2025 and we just had one of the most violent months in the history of the country, our taxes are being used to pay front rows to Trump’s inauguration ceremony. We really don’t have historical memory and we’re not used to live with dignity because that concept was lost ages ago.
the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person
from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating
it’s fucked up.
