James slowly became best friend with Evan after he and Regulus started dating. Hear me out on that : Evan was always making plan in his mind to murder anyone who look slightly badly at Regulus but he obviously can't make them real because it's illegal right ? and once James notice he teaches Evan how to socially ruin someone because he knows how, he did it with Snape because he insulted his friend. Sirius will be fucking pissed because James will tell him "sorry i can't I'm hanging out with Rosier during the free period" and at one point Sirius follows James and found him writing plans on a white board and an extremely interested Evan sitting in front of him even taking notes at some point. Evan has a list of people who hurted Regulus in a way or another and James being James absolutely know them all and put up the greatest plan to ruin them. One day James don't know one of the person and Sirius walk out of his hiding spots, knowing the person, and tell them all about them. Evan and James don't ask why he's here and just continue their lesson, Sirius now joining them. Remus finds out about it and stop them every time because he is prefect and he don't really want half of Hogwarts finishing in depression because of three highly protective person.

James "i befriend whoever i want" Potter also got close to Barty but very very quickly like just Barty walked up to him when Regulus told us about their relationship and like spend 20 minutes talking to him about how he should treat Regulus and James stayed silent listening closely and after that James started talking usually with him and they became friend in less then an hour laughing louldy in the corridors and everyone being like "da fuck is happening to Crouch and Potter ? they hated eachother yesterday ?"

Regulus was just happy that James befriended his best friends an totally wasn't aware of the whole "don't murder, destroy them mentally" part of their friendship.

I can't write a book but I wrote a whole ass letter to make my classmates change his mind on Severus Snape. He though this guy was good. Thanks to my English lesson who was boring I was able to write it and boom. My classmates did change his mind.
